Hcs about meis friends home and family life because I really want to know xx

Miriam:

She comes from a Dutch-Canadian family, both of her parents are Jewish meaning she is too. Her great-great grandparents moved from Germany to Canada, meaning most of her living family has lived in Canada their whole life

she only speaks English

Her parents divorced when she was young, and she lives with her dad (I’m pretty sure this was canon cuz I read that in a deleted scene she said her parents were divorced and since Mei says ‘Miriam’s dad is ordering us pizza’, she probably lives with her dad and I just liked this idea)

Shes the youngest of 5 kids, and the only daughter, meaning she has 4 older brothers, which is why she’s a bit tomboyish and she’s very caring to the others because she’s the eldest and she’s never had anyone to care for before. She’s the closest with the brother who is closest in age to her. Their ages are 20, 18, 17 and 15. Her brothers are called Caleb, Noah, Daniel and James

She sees her mum once a week, but doesn’t really have anything to do with her

she only had her grandparents on her dads side and a great grandmother on her mums side

she has a lot of cousins. Like loads, and they’re all either the same age as her or older than her

she also has lots of uncles and aunts (I like to think she has a large family which is why she’s so kind ig 🤷‍♀️)

She has a pet lizard called ‘T’. Her dad tried to convince her not to call it after Aaron t but all her friends thought it would be hilarious if she did. Like Mei with Robaire jr

her brothers taught her how to skateboard

her brothers baby her and she HATES it. Like if they baby her, if she can she’ll tell them to shut up and talk to them like she talked to Tyler when he bullied mei

priya:

Lives with both of her parents, who are from India

her parents were born in India, but moved to Canada when they were young with her grandparents, meaning they speak English and Hindi, but priya was just born in canada

priya speaks Hindi

she’s the eldest of 3 children, she has 2 little sisters who are 8 and 3. Her sisters are called Meena and Aarya

she visits India in the holidays (like when you end a school year and have the huge break and go into a year above)

her and her dad both LOVE rock music, which is why she’s a goth. Her sisters who’s 8 also loves it. Her mum isn’t that keen on it but she lets them make their living room sound like a mosh pit because she likes how they bond over it. She loves nirvana, Metallica, smash into pieces, evanescence (who are her person fav), babymetal (she tried getting Abby into them because they’re Japanese but Abby hated it lol), bring me the horizon, slipknot, halestorm, korn, I Prevail, etc (these are all my fav rock bands don’t judge me 😭)

she’s very protective of her sisters, despite not doing much with them. Because she’s quiet and loves reading, she spends most of her time in her room or in the mosh pit of a living room, but she cares for them deeply and would do anything for them, like with Miriam Mei and abby

she has a small family unlike Miriam, she only has 2 uncles and 1 aunt, and only has a few cousins

abby:

Comes from a Korean family

was actually born in Korea, and lived there until she was 3, then moved to Canada with her parents and her siblings

she speaks both Korean and English, but when she’s mad by default she yells and speaks in Korean

she has 1 older sister and 1 younger brother, her sisters 16 and her brothers 6. Her sisters called Jasmine and her brother is called Felix

Her and her siblings have Korean names which their family calls them. Their legal names are their English names (so Abby’s legal name is Abby), and if their parents mention them to people who aren’t family, they’ll say their English name (so they’ll say abby), but when it’s their family or they’re speaking to them, they’ll call them their Korean name. Jasmines is Hwayoung, Abby’s is Chaeyoung, and Felix’s Jiyoung

her mum runs one of those Asian hair salons (do u get what I mean cuz she said ‘my mum cuts his hair at the salon’ when she was talking abt Devon)

her dad runs a Korean restaurant

Because it’s just her, her parents and siblings she doesn’t really see the rest of her family

She only really visits korea for a family celebration, like a wedding or funeral or a Christening or somet

She ALWAYS plays twister or just dance with her siblings, and her dad thinks it’s hilarious, but her mum wishes she had a quiet household for once

the reason she’s so energetic and loud is because she came from that type of household

you think she’s bad, her brother is even worse. Hes WAY more energetic than her, and her sister is loud but kind of calm

okay so while we’re on the topic… i’m a newer fan of the boys, i actually got tickets to one of their concerts back in october when they were touring in america from my aunt even though i had never really been a fan of them (her heart was in the right place 😭😭 bc i do listen to a lot of music that’s like in their sphere ig?? and i’ve been to festivals that they’ve performed at so i can see why she would’ve thought to get me those tickets, i just never really listened to their music before) but i went to the show regardless bc hello free concert tickets?? would have been a sin to let them go to waste tbh and oh my god am i so glad i did, it was actually one of the best shows i’ve ever been too!! especially considering i only really knew their popular songs?? like robbers, somebody else, aaaand it’s not living if it’s not with you

ANYWAYS that being said, since i had never really followed them before i always pretty much ignored anything i saw about them on twitter and stuff, mainly the negative things said abt matty bc not my faves, not my business?? but i gotta ask someone who’s been a fan of them for a lot longer than i have, what iiiis the deal with all the “matty healy racist” “matty healy homophobic” “matty healy [insert smth hateful here]” rhetoric??? bc from what i’ve seen of him after getting to know more abt the band he doesn’t appear that way at all?? like were there things he said that were taken out of context??? what’s up with the nazi accusations??? also homophobic??? is twt not aware of what he did in malaysia?? also straight men that are homophobic would never have the kind of close male friendships that the band have with one another… it seems like he’s twitter’s scapegoat tbh but idk i’m simply so confused and anything i find online trying to explain it all seems very biased based off the language they use so if you can/would like to… pls help 😭

i won't say matty's a saint. he's definitely done things in the past that are disappointing (to me at least, as well as to many others on here). last year he went on a podcast called the adam friedland show where many tasteless jokes were made about japanese people, the porn website ghetto gaggers, ice spice as well as countless other tastelss things were said.

now i really really want to clarify that matty never made those jokes but he did laugh along to them which is also a shitty fucking thing to do. he's since said that he was advised not to go on the podcast by people close to him and he still did it. however, he's also publicly apologised to ice spice and she's also said that the 1975 are one of her fav artists.

in may of 2023 he started allegedly dating taylor swift (i still don't believe it, i still think they either just made music or they just fucked or both) which exposed him to a whole new level of fame that was unprecedented. and the swifties are... rabid, to say the least. they made fun of his appearance, his past addiction issues, hoped he would have a relapse and die, all sorts of horrendous stuff. they discovered the podcast which was pretty fresh at the time and the whole thing spiralled into him being labelled a racist, homophobe, transphobe, pedophile, nazi, you name it, he was being called it.

however literally NONE of it was backed by evidence (but i don't expect people whose sole source of information is twt to realise that)

they have clearly never learned what a nazi is. i'm not even going to try to debunk that here because i feel like it would be insulting to your intelligence

he's not homophobic or transphobic, he's literally an ally to the point of being a fruity lil shit. he's been banned from 2 countries (dubai and malaysia) for openly supporting queer rights. they were also briefly jailed in malaysia for the stunt they pulled and had a lawsuit filed against them. he's even won ally of the year at the diva awards in 2019

literally every single fan who's ever met him has had nothing but amazing things to say about him. he's been incredibly kind and sweet to people

the band has always been openly political and vocal about their beliefs

you're absolutely right about him being the twitter scapegoat because unfortunately that's exactly what it is </3

I have a bit of a vendetta brainrot so I wanna know a lot of stuff😊

You mentioned Ash lighting their cigarettes with their pyrokinesis. Do any of the other characters smoke? Any other vices they have?

Then I'm wondering if anyone got tattoos (if yes, do you have examples what they'd look like?), piercings, jewelry or other important accessories you'd say are worth mentioning?

Lastly, everyone's favorite flowers?

If it's not too much work for all the ROs and maybe Viktor, Luka and Cara too?

Hey 👋 no worries and it’s not annoying at all! I’m happy that you have shown so much enthusiasm and love for my story 😭❤️

I have been planning to let MC make Ash at least try to stop smoking by scolding them 😂 The other RO that also smokes is Santana, but they have been trying to stop for a while now, so they won’t smoke as much as Ash. Luka also used to smoke but has long since quit (from Viktor’s and Cara’s constant scoldings) and only smoke occasionally if he’s really stressed out.

Viktor and Cara used to drink too, not really drinking to a stupor and drunk of course, just enough to get the buzz and relax. Viktor usually went with Vodka or Whiskey (ironically like his father) while Cara usually went with beer or scotch. Viktor stopped most of it when MC was born, but occasionally, he indulged a bit at night if little MC was already asleep.

As for Rin and Skylar… I don’t think they have any, unless you count Rin having a little sweet tooth and Santana’s reliance on caffeine to be vices as well. Rin doesn’t really go ham crazy for sweet stuff, but they enjoy sweet desserts and buying those for them is usually a safe bet 😆 Santana just needs coffee because they are often tired either from being overworked or from the side effect of using their power too much (it could give them vivid nightmares).

As for tattoos, Ash, Rin, and Skylar have them.

Ash’s tattoos are all black and white. They have one snake wraparound tattoo on their right bicep that sometimes looks as if it’s alive when the muscles there ripple. And one with skeletal hand design on their left hand that they actually kinda regret now a bit but is still stubborn enough not to remove it 😆 Closest pictures I can find:

Rin has the full back tattoo (end on their lower back) of a kitsune with colors and in traditional Japanese art style (horimono tattoos). Closest designs that I could find:

Skylar has those small, minimalistic design tattoos dotted here and there on their body, mostly nature related designs.

As for jewelries and accessories.

Ash is not really interested in wearing any unless the accessories have to do with driving their bike (like their driving gloves or helmet) or have any practical uses during fights. Can maybe be persuaded to wear rings since it can work as impromptu knuckleduster but those will most often get in the way of wearing their driving gloves, so they would rather bring a separate brass knuckles 🤣 I think it was also a similar case for Aunt Cara as well.

For female Rin, she loves to wear those minimalistic but elegant and expensive jewelries such as necklace, bracelets, rings, and or earrings. For male Rin, he loves to wear those luxurious and expensive watches, like Rolex or Patek Philippe. Viktor also loved collecting those ridiculously expensive watches whereas Luka has always been more into sports cars instead 😂

Santana doesn’t really wear any significant jewelries or accessories as well, other than their badge and gun holster 😆 Skylar also, surprisingly, not big on jewelries and accessories. They are a pretty active and outdoorsy type of person when they are not on duty, so maybe that’s why.

As for the favorite flowers question, I can’t really answer that since I know next to nothing about different types of flowers 😅 So, feel free to headcanon any that you would feel fitting for the characters!

Hey, so this is going to be a whole rant, sorry I've been gone.

Lack of internet and mainly my job i feel like a workaholic 😭

Anyway, so not many of you know but I've been a TMNT fan for most of my life.

I, unfortunately, grew up with the 2012 series, there are several reasons why that show went downhill.

Donnie x April, writing, the romantic trope is written, the turtles all having a romantic love interest, Leo crushing on Kirai ( his sister may i say) and honestly lost me after the love triangle with April, Donnie, and Casey.

except for Raphael and Mona Lisa, i love them as a couple i wish rise had them in the show or movie.

I have seen the 1980s movies and cartoon shows of TMNT through my dad who is an even bigger fan of TMNT but only the originals.

I'll explain more on, however, 2003 or 2007 i have never seen.

Honestly, I have never loved TMNT more than Rise, I'm in love with Leo and Donnie smart and funny guys count me in XD

I recently started watching the show and when it came out and 15 year old me, did not give it a chance.

At first, i thought it was dumb, i still think they look like frogs lol and i was still confused why April's skin color was changed.

I was used to seeing white April than black April and my dad does not see her as April but as a completely different character.

I'll get back to that later but oh boy i missed out on a good show, given it is still too kiddy for me.

But i love the humor, animation and yes, i believe Leo and Donnie carry the show with the humor :)

Just watching season 1 is making me happy, I'm super into it.

I just love it's the opposite of the old TMNT and less serious.

The old TMNT never really got me into loving the turtles like Rise i just liked them like heroes until Rise..

Usually, Leo is the serious older brother, and leader, Ralph angry fighter, and Donnie is an inventor genius while Mikey is the big pizza lover and fun kid.

While on the rise...

Raph is a giant softie older Brother, Leo is a dumb ninja, Donnie is genius still but autistic in this world which is confirmed and Mikey isn't a full-on pizza lover like in the previous media adaptions but an artist, a fun-loving kid who loves pizza like his bros.

I love the fact Shelldon's voice by the original Michelangelo.

I hope to watch season 2 and the movie soon, definitely won't see the movie til i see season 2.

I recently got into the Rottmnt fandom and made two OCs

Emily & Gwendolyn, i mention them because of the topic I'm going to bring up.

So as far as i will til i upload the drawings of my OCs.

Emily is a half-American half-Japanese teenage human girl, with a mysterious/dark past, best friends with April, and has a HUGE crush on Leo.

Emily lives with her aunt, uncle and cousins it is noting her father is not in the picture and confirmed he is deceased while the mother is a mystery for now.

It's a semi-canon Emily has a large dragon burn mark on her right arm

Gwendolyn or Gwen is Donnie's human online friend she is surprised that he is a turtle mutant but thinks it is cool, she is a geek, hipster, comic book lover, and mainly chill.

She is basically Ramona Flowers, with the chill vibe, hammer weapon, and dying her hair every day different color.

Gwen is a chubby, Hispanic teenage girl, she lives in New York with her family and is a classmate to April and Emily.

She is known as a smart gal, hipster internet blogger, and gamer.

She is a love interest for Donnie but is not confirmed until later on that they're dating (most likely early season 2 wise)

I recently heard that if you have a cartoon and you have a certain race that character has to be voiced by that certain race.

That kinda sounds like reverse racism, i would go into it but don't want to say anything wrong.

But if i were to choose voice actors for my OCs Emily definitely be voiced by 'Misuki' even though she is only a singer she would be perfect for Emily

Gwen probably would be voiced by Zoe Saldaña, i just see her voice like that :)

Now as for TMNT 2014 & 2016 Bayverse i did not enjoy as much the CGI was just weird and the first movie was alright but the second i wasn't into.

Once again one of the turtles had a crush on April, Mikey.

I dont mind mutant x mutant or mutant x human but it has become weird ever since 2012 Donnie had a crush on April 2014 Mikey had a crush on April.

And now mutant mayhem Leo having a crush on April. What's next Raph has a crush on April.

Personally, i think they should use a different female character to be shipped with the turtles other than April.

As some may tell i didn't enjoy the TMNT mutant mayhem movie, the humor was there but the writing and animation didn't make me fall in love with it, unlike Rise.

However, my dad or i suppose any old TMNT fan, doesn't enjoy the new adaption of TMNT as it become more childish than serious.

Well, from what i seen as an old TMNT fan my dad didn't enjoy the animation or new personalities of the turtles in Rise and the humor doesn't hit him as much.

It's just fun and funny to me him criticizing the show that i personally enjoy XD

I kinda do ship April and Cassandra, not going to lie thought it would be cute :))

Honestly, realized I'm the same age as Raph XD Oh shit, still ship Mona Lisa and Raph though.

This is all i had to rant about, i do love the ROTTMNT series more than the previous franchises before.

Also omg you mentioned クレヨンしんちゃん and now I’m wondering: what were YOUR Japanese childhood shows? As a kid I watched a lot of アンパンマン、プリキュア、ドラえもん、and うる星やつら (but kid me hated it cause ラム was so violent LMAO) and some キューティーハニー. Since this was the early 2000s, my source of Japanese TV, whether it was anime or variety, were the VHS tapes and CDs my aunt in Japan would send to us until Crunchyroll and illegal streaming sites came around. I also remember the era of variety shows I watched, where there were comedians like ハードゲイ、小島よしおのオッパピー時代、鳥居みゆき、lmao. What a throw back.

I AM LAUGHING SO HARD AT HOW HARD YOUR PARENTS’ RULE BACKFIRED HAHAHASADGJHJGSJH. Like, OF COURSE you would play video games all winter!! THAT’S THE ONLY TIME THEY WOULD LET YOU!!! I would definitely do the same. And oh gosh this reminds me, when I was like twelve, I desperately wanted to play ときメモGS3 on the DS cause I couldn’t find the ROM. But being twelve, I had no idea how to broach “hey so uh I want you to buy me a game about,,,,,,seducing cute anime boys even though I’m still, well, a child, but I’m going through puberty SOOOO…..” to my mother LMAO. I was so desperate that I did bring it up though. It basically went like this: “Hey mum, do you know what…乙女ゲームare?” “??? No. Why?” “Noit’snothingnevermindbye.” Oh how my otome loving heart suffered as a child..but now that I am an adult I CAN PURCHASE ANY OTOME GAME THAT I WANT!! (Rip my wallet). Also I never checked out a voltage game, but since you recommend it, perhaps it is time to give it a try!! Looking forward to it :))

Re: language options for games. Yep I still have not touched that game I thought I could play in Japanese, for I am PETTY. It’s so annoying. It’s a global world—they need to make it available in other languages. And you bring up an excellent point about translating romantic Japanese dialogue in English. I mean 「男ですから。」 is a classic love interest thing to say in Japanese, but in English….yeah it does NOT work well.

I haven’t played fe3h in Japanese either! I was planning to do so on my second run, but I got so burned out playing the four routes back to back, so that never happened. The academy section is just burnout central, really. And my first house was Blue Lions and to this day it’s still my favourite route! I just got so attached to them😭😭😭. BUT YES HUBERT IS AN ICON. Did you SEE his new look in the three hopes trailer??? Reactions were mixed BUT NOT FOR ME CAUSE I LOVE HIS MCR LOOK HE IS THRIVING AND DOING WELL. Oh, and you should DEFINITELY play Golden Deer. It’s a very different route but one I enjoyed immensely. I had so many: “OHHHH!” moments because so much was cleared up. And hey, since Three Hopes is coming out (still dunno how I feel about that title lmao) it’d be good timing to go back! And yeah there’s no way your BF will be anti-Claude by the end of his route, I am calling it, your boyfriend will SWOON for him. No one can resist Claude. And that’s THAT.

Hey kewpie anon, I hope you're doing well! Thanks for stopping by~

My mom and I were actually talking about how to spell kewpie today, and I immediately thought of you.

1) I'm glad that Manga Toro works for you! Like I said, my mom and I are suffering since the Japanese side of the site hasn't been updating for our favorite mangas but hopefully that's not the case for you!!! I fully anticipate it to go down someday, so I'll keep you updated on what we find.

2) I think that every Japanese kid grows up watching アンパンマン and ドラえもん even if they don't grow up in Japan. It's just such a constant in Japanese culture. The real cultural divide isn't which era you're born in, but which ドラえもん voice actor is the true ドラえもん.（the correct answer is 大山のぶ代さん). I definitely loved those two shows! I think I watched うる星やつら but I also get that mixed up with らんま1/2, which I remember more of.

I was part of the generation before プリキュア; I grew out of magical girl animes right before they started to become a thing. Sailor Moon was my favorite show back in the day! I also remember watching おジャ魔女ドレミ sometimes, though I only remember bits and pieces. I also watched a lot of the typical kids shows like お母さんと一緒 and いないいないばあっ！because my dad would keep the Japanese channel on all the time on TV, and those would be airing a lot. I also remember learning a lot from 日本語で遊ぼう, which is how I can recite a lot of Japanese stories and poems from memory to this day.

I also used to follow 名探偵コナン really closely with the manga and the anime. Now I'm just waiting for it to end so I can see what happens, it's been dragging on for so long! (and the English translation is one of my biggest translation pet peeves!! And I have a few but it was the original one. Why would you rename the main characters to crappy English names?? 工藤新一 is Jimmy Kudo and 毛利蘭 is Rachel Moore?? Ugh I hate it so much).

I definitely remember 小島よしお and 鳥居みゆき! I also remember that era of variety shows really fondly because that's when I first started to get into it. I don't know if you ever saw this but I loved ヘキサゴン２！クイズパレード and IQさぷり. That was my main intro into variety shows, and to this day I'm a massive fan of quiz shows! (Not the direction that they're going in these days unfortunately but GOD IQサプリwas SO good and everything I ever wanted). Primarily, I remember the 芸人that were on ヘキサゴン for that particular era of TV.

3) I'm am SO SO sorry that you had to go through with that awkward desperation of asking omg that's so funny and i get it. For me, I only started playing otome games for real when I got an iPod Touch (remember when they were a thing?). I usually only played the free ones, but the voltage ones I secretly bought for myself using Japanese iTunes gift cards since they only had a paid option.

But yes we can totally buy our own now and I'm super tempted to actually check out ときメモ since I never played it!

5) I'M SO EXCITED FOR FIRE EMBLEMS WARRIORS: THREE HOPES!!! It's a day one purchase for me, I'm so ready. It seems like not everyone is super hyped for it, but I've played both of the Hyrule Warriors games, and absolutely loved it. I never had an emo phase so I skipped right over MCR but I am here for Hubert in any type of look and I was super excited to see him.

Just knowing the direction that Hyrule Warriors: The Age of Calamity went (if you don't know, it went full fix-it fanfiction plot in the wildest ways), and knowing how the plot of the original Hyrule Warriors and Dragon Quest Heros went, my theory about the plot of FE Warriors is that it's going to be an AU sort of setting where Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude finally all work together instead of killing each other against a common enemy. (Which I WISH was Rhea but realistically it's probably Those Who Slither in the Dark). Which I think works and makes sense because that was the tragedy of the original game; they were all working towards the same thing. The only difference was whether they had Byleth on their side.

There seriously needs to be a way to streamline the Academy part of the game oh my god. I am so sick and tired of it. It desn't help that it's literally the exact same for every single route. The only real differences that I've noticed was the slightest bit of variation in Claude's dialogue in the Golden Deer route and even that was few and far in between. And you never make it out of Garreg Mach?? Who thought THAT was a good idea omg, I need to explore new places because I know the Monestarry like it's the back of my hand. Or at least give me like redecorating options as they rebuild because it get so stale. Even just the empty depressing room that you go into in the Crimson Flower route was exciting because it was different.

I'm definitely wanting to play it again!! Maybe after playing Triangle Strategy when it comes out will reignite the desire for tactics games. We'll see, I'm dying to play through the Golden Deer route with no spoilers. I just wish it was easier.

Do you have any other games/shows/manga/anime that you really like? Maybe we have more in common! I play a fair amount of video games both western and Japanese, and have slowly been making my way back into watching anime these past few years. Mangas though, besides Spy X Family it's so hard trying to find one to actually get into since I can't 立ち読み at 古本屋さん 😭
