kinda relevant: i've been seeing weirdos on twitter refer to young Palestinian guys (aged 15-35) as military aged men, trying to imply that all such Palestinian men are potential hamas fighters, and therefore legitimate targets. they are literally hungering for excuses to kill as many Palestinians as possible while evading accountability

all RIGHT:
Why You're Writing Medieval (and Medieval-Coded) Women Wrong: A RANT
(Or, For the Love of God, People, Stop Pretending Victorian Style Gender Roles Applied to All of History)
This is a problem I see alllll over the place - I'll be reading a medieval-coded book and the women will be told they aren't allowed to fight or learn or work, that they are only supposed to get married, keep house and have babies, &c &c.
If I point this out ppl will be like "yes but there was misogyny back then! women were treated terribly!" and OK. Stop right there.
By & large, what we as a culture think of as misogyny & patriarchy is the expression prevalent in Victorian times - not medieval. (And NO, this is not me blaming Victorians for their theme park version of "medieval history". This is me blaming 21st century people for being ignorant & refusing to do their homework).
Yes, there was misogyny in medieval times, but 1) in many ways it was actually markedly less severe than Victorian misogyny, tyvm - and 2) it was of a quite different type. (Disclaimer: I am speaking specifically of Frankish, Western European medieval women rather than those in other parts of the world. This applies to a lesser extent in Byzantium and I am still learning about women in the medieval Islamic world.)
So, here are the 2 vital things to remember about women when writing medieval or medieval-coded societies
FIRST. Where in Victorian times the primary axes of prejudice were gender and race - so that a male labourer had more rights than a female of the higher classes, and a middle class white man would be treated with more respect than an African or Indian dignitary - In medieval times, the primary axis of prejudice was, overwhelmingly, class. Thus, Frankish crusader knights arguably felt more solidarity with their Muslim opponents of knightly status, than they did their own peasants. Faith and age were also medieval axes of prejudice - children and young people were exploited ruthlessly, sent into war or marriage at 15 (boys) or 12 (girls). Gender was less important.
What this meant was that a medieval woman could expect - indeed demand - to be treated more or less the same way the men of her class were. Where no ancient legal obstacle existed, such as Salic law, a king's daughter could and did expect to rule, even after marriage.
Women of the knightly class could & did arm & fight - something that required a MASSIVE outlay of money, which was obviously at their discretion & disposal. See: Sichelgaita, Isabel de Conches, the unnamed women fighting in armour as knights during the Third Crusade, as recorded by Muslim chroniclers.
Tolkien's Eowyn is a great example of this medieval attitude to class trumping race: complaining that she's being told not to fight, she stresses her class: "I am of the house of Eorl & not a serving woman". She claims her rights, not as a woman, but as a member of the warrior class and the ruling family. Similarly in Renaissance Venice a doge protested the practice which saw 80% of noble women locked into convents for life: if these had been men they would have been "born to command & govern the world". Their class ought to have exempted them from discrimination on the basis of sex.
So, tip #1 for writing medieval women: remember that their class always outweighed their gender. They might be subordinate to the men within their own class, but not to those below.
SECOND. Whereas Victorians saw women's highest calling as marriage & children - the "angel in the house" ennobling & improving their men on a spiritual but rarely practical level - Medievals by contrast prized virginity/celibacy above marriage, seeing it as a way for women to transcend their sex. Often as nuns, saints, mystics; sometimes as warriors, queens, & ladies; always as businesswomen & merchants, women could & did forge their own paths in life
When Elizabeth I claimed to have "the heart & stomach of a king" & adopted the persona of the virgin queen, this was the norm she appealed to. Women could do things; they just had to prove they were Not Like Other Girls. By Elizabeth's time things were already changing: it was the Reformation that switched the ideal to marriage, & the Enlightenment that divorced femininity from reason, aggression & public life.
For more on this topic, read Katherine Hager's article "Endowed With Manly Courage: Medieval Perceptions of Women in Combat" on women who transcended gender to occupy a liminal space as warrior/virgin/saint.
So, tip #2: remember that for medieval women, wife and mother wasn't the ideal, virgin saint was the ideal. By proving yourself "not like other girls" you could gain significant autonomy & freedom.
Finally a bonus tip: if writing about medieval women, be sure to read writing on women's issues from the time so as to understand the terms in which these women spoke about & defended their ambitions. Start with Christine de Pisan.
I learned all this doing the reading for WATCHERS OF OUTREMER, my series of historical fantasy novels set in the medieval crusader states, which were dominated by strong medieval women! Book 5, THE HOUSE OF MOURNING (forthcoming 2023) will focus, to a greater extent than any other novel I've ever yet read or written, on the experience of women during the crusades - as warriors, captives, and political leaders. I can't wait to share it with you all!

This is what I meant when I said both rightoids and liberals in India are equally dumb as fuck. Both are pro imperialists. She's not even lower caste and yet she's speaking on behalf of us. I have seen this trend in a lot of "anticasteist" upper caste women (who unfortunately have more voices than people like me, actually women from oppressed castes).
How are these people different from the white supremacists who say brown people are intellectually and socially inferior?
"At least the goras let us have meat" oh okay we're gonna ignore the 3 million lives lost in Bengal famine caused by Churchill's policies (after which he blamed it on us instead of his own greediness). Did he let those people eat meat then? Unhinged shit. They wouldn't let people fill their bellies cause sometimes instead of food crops they wanted our ancestors to grow cotton, indigo, spices, tea. Which also left areas prone to land disasters. Commercial stuff that they could sell at much cheaper prices in their own countries and others in the Western world as well. Also levied extremely unreasonably high taxes. Leaving us with no money. Delusional world these middle/upper class liberals live in where the British let us have meat. They didn't even let us have rice.
The British protected the caste system. Read Sharmila Rege's work about how the British introduced the process of "Brahmanisation" in colonial India.
This is the exact thing Hindu nationalists are doing rn! And have been doing forever! Protecting Western imperialists! Why do you think Modi is bootlicking the US so much? Do you think the farmers' protests and the after effects of globalization after 1991 are disconnected from Western imperialism?
Just because nationalists claim to be against white dominance doesn't mean they practice what they preach.
And this folks is why you need to incorporate class and gender in your analysis and not read about the work of only the middle class men of a community :)
Women and poor people matter too.
But unfortunately many earlier anti caste activists who were middle or upper class were anti Marxists and only later few like the Dalit Panthers and R.B More realized the importance of Marxist analysis for understanding modern caste based oppression more. Yes many Indian Marxists ignored casteism. But that does not mean we must dispose it as a useless theory.
But who tf cares about the Dalit Panthers or anyone else? Have you even heard of any other names that aren't Phule or Ambedka? Everyone followed and still follow people like Periyar, Ambedkar, Phule who were all from relatively well off family. And why will people who uncritically follow these people not think colonization was as bad? All of them attended British school and went for higher studies as well. The British was staunchly anti communist. They constantly resisted communist activists in colonial India. This is a privilege even today many people from oppressed castes cannot enjoy.
I have seen all these upper caste women, ignore people like me pointing this out. They think we're against education of oppressed castes (why would I advocate that for my own community?). But rather we take issue to these men ignoring their economic and male privilege and speaking on behalf of all of us.
A reminder that Periyar criminalized devadasis and read Ambedkar's arguments against Hindutva solutions to the Partition (hint: he cared more about the money that could be wasted in missionaries rather than the violence and human rights and unironically called Muslim people "tyrannical" and referred to "Muslim oppression" on Hindus). He was anti casteist, but he was Islamophobic.
To avoid with this kind of thinking, follow Dalit feminist theory. Dalit femininism from its inception has been pro Marxist (cause women make most of poor here). And they explain the effects of colonization on lower caste women (how the British introduced evidence act, a law that justified rape against lower caste women and let me remind you gang rape of lower caste women by upper caste men is a national issue. Ex the Manipur case, the rape of Phoolan Devi, the Hathras case etc). And how dowry (that earlier used to be a practice mainly amongst upper castes was now becoming dominant in lower castes as well due to capitalization of economy during colonial era). Maybe then you will understand why the British abolished sati but not any temple prostitution or other issues faced exclusively by women from oppressed castes. In fact they called upper caste women those who deserve to be protected but lower caste women were inherently deviant in their justification. But please go ahead and argue how imperialism brings "good things" sometimes.
Just read about caste reformation during colonial era. The choice isn't between hindutva and colonial era. The choice is between hindutva and hindutva along with colonial rule. Why do most liberals pretend the British never favored the Brahmins over everybody else?
White supremacy is so much better than Hindu supremacy for women of lower castes am I right guys?
Tumblr media
This is so much better?
Also reminded of the "breast cloth" controversy. Do not mistake that anti caste activism is always anti caste for both Dalit men and women. Sometimes it favors Dalit men. And oppresses Dalit women further. Cause usually the colonizers never cared about oppressed castes but when they did, it was only for the men.
Ik many upper caste Marxists are not good at anti caste politics but I cannot separate Marxism from my anti caste or feminist politics. And as a Marxist from a formerly colonized country, I cannot ignore the imperial divide between the West (that is white dominated) and the global south (that includes India). You cannot separate the conditions of brown and black people today in the global south from the past dynamics of the colonizer and the colonized.
Lower caste women are obviously very poor. The poorest of all with least social protection. These upper caste women can sit on their asses and write papers and blogs on how much white supremacy was much cooler. But the ones from oppressed castes and working class? They don't have this privilege. They have the same burden of upper caste women related to marriage and domestic work and everything. But on top of that they have to do labor as well. And after globalization, when condition of "blue collar jobs" degraded (wages lowered, subsidies cut, worker protection rights gone etc) , the percentage of women in these fields increased. That's not a coincidence. Men always force women into lower earning occupations that have little job security. I am not gonna ignore this.
Fuck Hindutva. But fuck white supremacy too. For me neither is better. Both go hand in hand in fact. Look at the Hindu nationalists in France allying with white supremacists over shared conservative interests.

Trump is promising to be a dictator and his supporters are expressing support for crimes against humanity committed by the late Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet.
Three years ago, the Intercept published an illuminating article about the rise of the “Hoppean snake” among far-right extremists, a meme which the Intercept labelled especially “disturbing for its frightening historical reference”. For the uninitiated, the Hoppean Snake in its various forms usually depicts a serpent wearing the military hat of the American-backed Chilean dictator Gen Augusto Pinochet in the foreground while figures are dropping out of helicopters to their death in the background. The meme specifically refers to Pinochet’s known strategy of kidnapping, torturing, killing, and – here’s the point – throwing his political opponents out of helicopters and into the ocean to dispose of them. The Intercept noted that many groups and individuals on the far right, such as the “Boogaloo Bois, Proud Boys, Three Percenters, Oath Keepers, armed Trumpists, and the like wear T-shirts that offer ‘free helicopter rides’.” and when they do so, “they are referencing a program of extermination.” It’s alarming to see such rhetoric from the far-right fringes; imagine seeing this kind of political violence being advocated by a sitting politician or someone seeking the highest office in the land. Well, you don’t have to imagine it any more. Last week, the Republican congressman Mike Collins of Georgia did just that. On Twitter/X,, Collins commented on a widely circulated picture of Jhoan Boada, a man who was recently arrested for allegedly assaulting two police officers in New York City outside a migrant shelter. Boada was one of seven men arrested, and multiple reports refer to him as a “migrant”. After leaving court, Boada was photographed raising his two middle fingers to reporters as he walked away. The picture prompted Republican congressman Anthony D’Esposito of New York to offer the racist riposte: “We feel the same way about you. Holla at the cartels and have them escort you back.” Collins then joined in. “Or we could buy him a ticket on Pinochet Air for a free helicopter ride back,” he wrote. As HuffPost’s Christopher Mathias, who covers the far right, put it on X: “So we have a congressman joking or not joking about extrajudicially executing a migrant arrested for a crime (allegedly assaulting a cop) that tons of non-migrant citizens get arrested for too.” Mathias also notes that the “free helicopter ride” meme has been popular with white supremacists and neo-fascists for about the last seven years. [ ... ] Jews, Muslims, immigrants – everything is a threat. Violence is the solution. Opponents should be assassinated. Fascists are role models. Welcome to the Republican party in the year 2024.
Pinochet was a general who seized power in Chile in 1973. Very likely he had backing from the Nixon administration which was in the midst of Watergate. Pinochet immediately set about torturing and murdering his opponents. He remained in power until 1990 when he lost a referendum on whether he should remain as dictator. He actually expected to win that referendum or he wouldn't have held it; such is the self-delusion of the far right.
Once a dictator comes to power, there are few controls over when he or she leaves. People should believe Trump and his lickspittles when they talk dictatorship.
Snooty ideological purists who condone voting for impotent third parties or sitting out the 2024 election should be publicly scorned.
If Biden wins then you know there will be a free and fair election in 2028. If Trump wins, the best you can expect is a Russia-style election where Putin chooses who his opponents will be.
NOTE: Rep. Anthony D’Esposito, who made that racist reply to Rep. Mike Collins, represents NY-04 which is a swing seat south of NY-03 which was formerly represented by fabulist George Santos. NY-04 has a Cook Partisan Voter Index of D+5; Joe Biden got 56.8% of the vote there. So in case you need it, here's the site of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Words mean things and hyper-specific terms of oppression help us to understand where the vitriol comes from, but the discussion of who is “allowed” to claim victimhood from an -ism kind of falls apart in reality and the seeming LACK of logic from bigots.
I often think about how a Sikh basketball player wore a turban on the court and it caused such uproar from bigots. A term thrown around for him I saw over and over again, which will not be unfamiliar to anyone who played online video games in the early 2000s, is “sand-n(word).”
An antiblack slur got reapplied for islamophobic/racist attack on those in the middle east. In the case of the basketball player, he wasn’t Black OR middle eastern/muslim.
Twice-over the man wasn’t the “intended” target of those words, but he was very much the target. A brown man was lumped in with other brown men, and apparently there wasn’t a charged enough slur for brown men, so racists needed to utilize the n word for it. There is significant baggage attached to this conversation that isn’t ABOUT him, but it still WAS about him, because he was a brown man daring to display a non-Christian religious affiliation on the court.
Cis butches get attacked in bathrooms when mistaken for trans women, and they also face violence for daring to be women “incorrectly.” It’s about them and it isn’t about them. They aren’t the intended target and yet they are. For daring to exist outside of what makes a “woman.”
Effeminate men or those deemed to BE effeminate face violence. Is it for being “gay”? Is it “misdirected misogyny”? Are the bigots “really” targeting someone else while targeting them?
Understanding the words and ideologies bigots wield is crucial to understanding where the issue comes from and how to combat it and empower those affected. But it isn’t so clear cut that no one outside who the words were “made for” experiences it.
People of color face violence for not being white across a variety of ways and degrees. People who don’t pass as white face violence for it. Even those who DO face a type of racism face it differently. All Black people are subject to anti-Blackness, but not everyone is affected the same way by colorism or misogynior. Cis men face violence for being “like women” but also for not being “like men.” GNC women face violence for being “like trans women” “like trans men” but also for not being what a woman “should” be.
Anyone who steps outside of what conservative Christian white supremacy views as the “right” way to be is punished. Recognizing how this view is so narrow that even those who ARE what bigots insist they aren’t get targeted is important. If even cis women aren’t women enough, it makes you allies to trans women, to nonbinary women, to agender people. If someone isn’t white enough, that makes you a closer ally to other people of color so much more than to the bigot.
An olympics of who is oppressed the most and who is allowed to reclaim what and who is the “actual” target matters less than 0 to bigots who will use whatever is at their disposal to target outliers. Analysis of oppression that begins and ends at oppressed vs privileged does nothing to account for reality and the spectrum of identity beyond a binary, how lateral aggression reinforces what we are trying to fight, and the fact that all oppressed identities share a relationship of oppression.

ISLAM 101: The Basic Concepts of Islam: Part 1
The Concept of Faith (Iman)
Some people may think that man becomes a Muslim when he confesses belief in the Oneness of the True God and in Muhammad as His Last Messenger. But this is far from the full meaning of Faith. The full meaning of Faith in Islam is not, by any means, something nominal or mere formality. Faith in Islam is a state of happiness acquired by virtue of positive action and constructive conceptions as well as dynamic and effective measures. The Holy Quran and the Traditions of Muhammad define these required measures and establish the standards which build up a meaningful Faith. Thus, the true believers are: 1. Those who believe in God, His angels, His Books as completed by the Quran, His messengers with Muhammad being the Last of them all, the Day of Final Judgement, the absolute knowledge and wisdom of God.
2. Those who trust God always and enjoy unshakable confidence in Him.
3. Those who spend in the way of God of what He has given them in the form of wealth, life, health, knowledge, experience, and so on.
4. Those who observe their daily prayers regularly as well as the weekly and annual congregations
5. Those who pay their religious taxes (alms or Zakah) to the rightful beneficiaries (individuals or institutions), the minimum of which is two and half percent of the annual net income, or of the total value of stocks if in business – after discounting all expenses and credits.
6. Those who enjoin the right and good, and combat the wrong and evil by all lawful means at their disposal.
7. Those who obey God and His Messenger Muhammad; and feel increasing strength of faith when the Quran is recited, and humility of heart when Gods name is mentioned.
8. Those who love God and His Messenger most, and love their fellow men sincerely for the sake of God alone.
9. Those who love their near and distant neighbours and show genuine kindness to their guests, especially the strangers.
10. Those who say the truth and engage in good talk, or else abstain.
It is clear that the very meaning of Faith makes Islam penetrate deeply and constructively into every aspect of life. According to Islam, true Faith has decisive effect on the spiritual and material lot of man, and also on his personal and social behaviour as well as his political conduct and financial life. To show how the Quran describes the true believers, here are some examples. The Qur'an contains numerous references like these: They only are the true believers whose hearts feel submissive (and humble) when God is mentioned; and when the revelations of God are recited unto them, they (the revelations) increase and strengthen their Faith; and who trust in their Lord, establish the prayer (as enjoined on them) and spend of what We have bestowed on them (in the cause of God). Those are they who are in truth believers. For them are (high) grades (of honor) with their Lord, and a bountiful provision (Quran, 8:2-4). And the believers, men and women, are protecting (and allied) friends of one another; they enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and they establish worship and they pay the poor-due, and they obey God and His Messenger. As for these, God will have mercy on them; verily God is Mighty, and Wise. God promises the believers, men and women, Gardens under which rivers flow, to dwell therein, and beautiful mansions in Gardens of everlasting bliss. But the greatest bliss is the Good Pleasure of God. That is the supreme felicity (Quran, 9:71-72). The true believers are those only who believe in God and His Messenger (Muhammad) and afterward doubt not, but strive with their wealth and their lives for the cause of God. Such are the sincere (Quran, 49:15). Besides these Quranic references, there are many relevant Traditions of Muhammad. For example, he says: None of you can be a true believer unless; he loves for his fellow believer what he loves for himself. Three qualities are the sign of sound faith, and he who acquires them can really feel the sweet taste of Faith. They are to love God and his Messenger most of all, to love his fellow man for the sake of God alone, and to resent and resist returning to disbelief as much as he does being cast into fire. He who believes in God and Last Day of Judgment is forbidden to cause any harm to his neighbour, is to be kind to his guests – especially the strangers, and is to say the truth or else abstain. There are many verses and traditions like the ones cited above. But it should be borne in mind, however, that the given quotations are not and cannot be the exact words of the Quran and Muhammad as they sound in the Arabic Text. The reason for that is simple. No interpreter, however learned and masterful he may be, can ever convey the spiritual power and charming appeal of the Quran through any language. The Quran is – and so God made it – inimitable, and it is beyond human imagination and power to produce anything like it. What is true of the Quran in this respect is also true of the Traditions of Muhammad to a certain extent, because, after the Quran, his words are the most conclusive and eloquent.

Quote
The loss of status due to social, educational and economic barriers has meant that few men are able to fully support their households and thus lose their role as breadwinners. As Ubax’s quote implies, men are often criticized for spending most of their time talking politics and chewing qaad in Somali cafés and restaurants instead of supporting their families. Women are perceived as having greater adaptability to altered economic and social conditions, and for those who had previously been dependent on men, state benefits have allowed them to secure an income for themselves and their children, leading to a sense of the ‘disposability’ of men (Griffiths 2002: 111). The ‘displacement of male authority in the home’ is perceived as having had significant implications for the stability of the conjugal couple (ibid.: 112–13). The above-mentioned women felt justified in their decisions to separate or divorce by suggesting that the men had neglected their cultural and Islamic duty as ‘providers’ and had also failed to ‘update’ and ‘modernize’ their ideas about gender and to adapt to changing circumstances. Other women, however, were critical of the sense of ‘disposability’ that had developed in the diaspora, and of the ‘freedom junkie’ role acquired by women. Safiya explained how ‘women get benefits, college, education here and they realize they don’t need a man! But it’s not good.’ She continued: ‘They should also respect men and understand.’ Several of the men I interviewed reiterated this point, bemoaning the fact that women had acquired new sources of financial support and were making new demands on their husbands. They claimed that women often found that they no longer needed a husband unless he could contribute to the household in significant ways. ‘Women have changed here. They are using benefits to support the family and they have different expectations of us,’ one male interviewee described.

Purge French scrotes, wtf is wrong with them? I just read this article “French husband drugged wife, invited 80+ men to rape her while unconscious for 10 years” and it made me cry for this poor woman. I read that these scrotes didn’t even consider it rape and was shocked being arrested because they believed “the husband can dispose and use his wife’s body however they want”
I seriously want to stay single forever
Don't even look into the story of the man who killed his wife and spread her body parts at the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont 💀 (literally one of the most visited parc of Paris)
And you know what? Since both the victim and his husband where Muslim, far right scrotes made it about themselves and said how dangerous immigration was 🤡 OF COURSE they won't say the problem is male violence against WOMEN nooo they had to shove their immigration obsessive agenda onto this story. Immigration isn't responsible for killing that woman - they were both "immigrants".
Rightoids scrotes HATE being reminder that the common denominator in crimes perpetrator is their SEX. If immigration alone was the issue, there would be as many women offender. But that's not the case. It's MEN terrorizing women, whether they're locals or immigrants.
Chemsex fan Pierre Palmade killing a baby in the womb, and cause a whole family to be hospitalized (for life long injuries for the father and son) after taking the wheel while high on coke was a pure White french scrote. Btw he got fred and got recently spotted recently in a night club high as a kite. French people got mad and since he realized this was bad for his image (his trial has yet to come) he asked to get back to hospital. Lmao this idiot thinks he's sleek. He doesn't regret anything. He just knows that him partying while waiting for his trial will hurt his defense so his lawyer advised him to get back to the hospital to pretend he actually cared.
I wonder what happened to the p*do content that's been found in his laptop? .... not much will ever come out of it imo bc french elites are all pedophile protecting each other. The Première Dame is a trans and a pedophile who groomed Macron when he was 14. France is de facto cursed for having such person in the government highest sphere. Look : the magistrate who offered his underage daughter in a swinging porn website didn't even go to prison.. that's how bad it is here.

So after three men administered the death penalty to Jordan Neely for the crime of being tired of hunger and lack of shelter, and after major news outlets spent the following days questioning whether people whose basic needs are going violently unmet by society and get upset about it really deserve to live, a vigilante used their six-figure Land Rover to kill seven people and grievously injure several more who were waiting in line outside a Brownsville shelter that serves food to hungry local immigrants and unhoused people.
We are not getting back out of this unless those of us who value human lives get as insistent about our beliefs as the people who consider human lives disposable are about theirs.
I would also urge everyone who still has even itchy fragments of a conscience left to understand that the law is increasingly against conscientious people, and that we still need to do right by others, but to take safeguarding measures accordingly; while the NYPD runs cover for Neely's murderers in New York City, their fellow badge-wearing mobsters in Houston have been targeting volunteer groups who dedicate their free time to helping people in Neely's situation fight hunger. HPD scared away the two local Muslim-run foodsharing orgs from the central library with threats of arrest and violence against their community, and when Food Not Bombs refused to leave, the cops started shellacking them with tickets in March (FNB recently received its twenty-third ticket for refusing to abandon unhoused Houstonians to hunger.) This is with the full-throated endorsement of our Mayor and the tacit (but no less enthusiastic) endorsement of the highly corrupt HPL administrators who fantasize about turning the library system into glorified Apple stores, and against the will of many Houstonian residents, but they're able to force their way because we haven't yet been able to organize and mobilize critical mass.

Death and it’s Ruling in ☪️
Usāmah ibn Zayd ibn Hārithah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet's daughter sent for him to come over because her son was dying. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sent her the greeting of peace and this message: "To Allah belongs what He takes, and to Him belongs what He gives, and for everything He sets a specific term. So she should have patience and seek the reward from Allah." She sent back urging him to come to her. So he, along with Sa‘d ibn ‘Ubādah, Mu‘ādh ibn Jabal, Ubayy ibn Ka‘b, Zayd ibn Thābit and other men (may Allah be pleased with them) went. The boy was given to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) and his breath was disturbed in his chest, which made the eyes of the Messenger of Allah overflow with tears. Thereupon, Sa‘d said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is that?" He said: "That is mercy which Allah, the Exalted, puts in the hearts of His slaves." In another version: "In the hearts of those He wills of His slaves. Indeed, Allah is merciful only to those of His slaves who are merciful."
Sahih/Authentic. - [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
Explanation
Usāmah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) recounts that one of the daughters of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) sent him a message that her son was dying and asked that he comes over. The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) told the messenger to tell her to have patience and to hope for the reward from Allah; meaning that she should be patient with this calamity while expecting the reward for her patience from Allah. Some people are patient but they do not hope for the reward. If they are patient and intend with their patience that Allah give them reward for it, then this is the meaning of Ihtisāb (expecting the reward from Allah). The Prophet's words "to Allah belongs what He takes and to Him belongs what He gives" is a great statement indeed. If everything belongs to Allah, then if He takes something from you, it is His, and if He gives you something, it is also His. So, how could you be angry and discontent if He takes from you what is originally His? That is why it is an act of Sunnah that when a person is afflicted with calamity he should say: "To Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return!" This expression clearly means that we are the property of Allah, Who thus can do what He wills with His property. Likewise are the things we love; if Allah takes them from us, they are ultimately His. So, He is the ultimate owner of what He takes and what He gives. Yo do not own what Allah gives you and, therefore, you cannot dispose of what He has given you except in the way He permitted. Our ownership of what Allah gives us is limited, and we do not have absolute freedom in disposing of it. If this is the case, then how can we be impatient and intolerant when Allah, the absolute Owner, takes back what belongs to Him? This contradicts reason and text (the Quran and Sunnah). The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) added that everything has an appointed term with Allah; meaning that He has a fixed time limit for everything. So, if you believe with certainty that to Allah belongs what He takes and to Him belongs what He gives and that He has fixed an appointed term for everything, you will be convinced without doubt that man cannot change the decreed term of anything, neither by advancing its time nor by delaying it. This conforms with the saying of Allah, the Exalted: {For every nation is a (specified) term. When their time has come, then they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede (it)} [Sūrat Yunus: So if a matter is predetermined by Allah and will neither be advanced or delayed from its appointed time, there is no benefit in impatience and discontent. Even if you are impatient and discontent, you will not change any part of fate. When the Prophet's daughter insisted that he goes to her, he went along with some of his Companions. He arrived when her child was in the throes of death. This made the eyes of the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) filled with tears. Sa‘d ibn ‘Ubādah thought that the Prophet was crying out of impatience, so the Prophet told him that he cries out of mercy for the little dying boy, not out of impatience and discontent with fate. Then he added that Allah is merciful to those of His slaves who are merciful to others. This Hadīth indicates the permissibility of crying out of mercy for those who are afflicted with misfortune.

Considerations in Picking a Law School
Many individuals who aspire to become lawyers aim to enrol in a reputable law school. However, students may find that their time at law school differs greatly from their expectations. Knowing what to expect from Law School is crucial, especially if one is certain that a career in law is the only option open to them. Going to law school is an ambitious goal that calls for careful planning and a substantial investment of time and resources. Some graduates can enter fulfilling professions, while others will face competition in the labour market. Therefore, you should carefully consider the pros and cons of studying law at various institutions. Please see below the necessary IPC.
406 IPC
According to Section 406 ipc, "whoever commits the crime of criminal breach of trust is subject to the punishment of either imprisonment of either sort for a term that may extend to three years, or a fine, or both of these." The act of a person who is in a position of trust misappropriating or converting to his use the property that he is entrusted with, or dishonestly using or disposing of the property in violation of any direction of the law imposing a duty on him, or of any legal contract, express or implied, made with him, is considered a criminal breach of trust.
324 IPC
The Indian Kanoon specifies in Section 324 that anyone who knowingly causes harm with any dangerous instrument is subject to imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, a fine, or both. According to 324 ipcanything that can inflict serious injury or death qualifies as a dangerous instrument, as does anything that is extremely hot or cold, acidic or poisonous, corrosive or explosive, or even an animal. The severity of the penalty will be proportional to the seriousness of the crime.
341 IPC
In accordance with Article 341 ipc, those who unlawfully restrain another person are liable to a fine of up to 500 rupees, a period of simple imprisonment of up to one month, or both.
Marriage in Hinduism Act of 1955
To protect the rights of Hindu couples who have entered into the sacred bond of marriage by any rite, the Hindu marriage act 1955 was passed. Since there are several ways for a man and a woman to perform this religious act, the legislation does not specify the type of ceremony. After witnessing multiple fraud cases in the name of marriage that left both men and women terrified or embarrassed, this conduct was proposed. All those of the Hindu, Jain, Sikh, and Buddhist faiths who are not Muslims, Christians, Parsis, or Jews are required to comply with this regulation. Anyone who was born into a Hindu family or who professes Hinduism is required to abide by this regulation. Section 2 of the Hindu Marriage Act defines the term "Hindu" entirely.
Conclusion
While it's true that law school sn't easy, it also has the potential to be one of the most gratifying times of your life. It can provide you with the work ethic, professional relationships, reading/writing skills, networking opportunities, and confidence to succeed in any career you pursue.

Allah loves the doers of good/al Muhsinin
Those who spend (in Allah’s Cause) in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers). Reflections from this verse The verse clarifies some of the virtues of the virtuous whom Allah loves and refers to them as Al-Muhsinun. Allah loves those who even in adversity, with restricted means at their disposal, readily spend in Allah’s cause. Another virtue that brings one close to Allah is repressing one’s anger. Conflicts are resolved, misunderstandings get dissolved, good sense prevails, patience holds sway and Satan has no say, when anger is repressed. Closely linked to repression of anger is forgiving others. In spite of any wrong done to you if you can have a big heart and pardon the offender, Allah appreciates this gesture. Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers). What more could a true Muslim aspire for! The practice of these virtues requires just timely self control assisted by constant reminders of what pleases Allah, and the reward from Allah Most Gracious is immense.
