I love Good Omens and all the different versions and adaptations of it SO MUCH. I love seeing the different Crowleys and Aziraphales interact and how their relationships differ.
TV: Denied being friends for so long yet they both love each other more than anything but never really talk to each other and want to protect each other and be with each other so much that it hurts them in so many ways.
Book: Old friends who love each other and take their jobs a bit seriously but ultimately want a break from heaven and hell to live in a little cottage together.
Radio: Oh nah, they fuckin! Old married couple at its finest, know everything about each other and Crowley reads Aziraphale’s bibles and they’re constantly flirting. Listening to them talk feels like you’re interrupting something when you’re simply on a pleasant walk.
Musical: Aziraphale is bitchier than ever and Crowley is a flaming ball of energy. It’s musical theatre so of course they’re both at 100 all the time. Also very married.
i am loving my good omens hyperfixation because just when i think it can't get better it gets better my experience has literally been:
wow that show was so good. oh! it was a book first. oh!! there's a radio drama version. OH!! THERES A MUSICAL! OHH!!! THERRS AN AUDIOBOOK READ BY DAVID TENNANT AND MICHEAL SHEEN!!!!
Crowley's actor does an amazing job with his characteristic lilting voice in the sizzle reel, a lot of the intonation reminded me of some lines from Show Crowley. The casting is amazing, I couldnt hear book Crowley talk any other way
Musical Crowley is so much more of a Disaster Puppy than any other iteration istg. Girlie just consistently lights up at any interaction with his sassy bitch of an Angel for a best friend, look at him kneeling to pour Aziraphale wine. Hes such a malewife (gender neutral) and FOR FUCKIN WHAT
i love how every aziraphale actor ever takes the “gayer than a tree of monkeys on nitrous oxide” book line and RUNS with it, of course also roping crowley into it in the process. it’s canonically accurate too but that doesn’t make me love it less. i mean, extremely queer “guy” and “guy” he has a nonnormative emotionally intimate long term “sort of friend”ship with that makes him reconsider all of the truths he thought he knew about how the world worked, how could you ever resist
If anyone super special and nice wanted to reblog this post with that one clip of musical Crowley on his knees pouring Aziraphale a drink. It literally lives rent free in my mind every day.
Since I have this knowledge and I keep bringing it up and people always seem surprised to learn about it- so here's a little recap of everything we know-
"Good Omens the Musical" is an official musical adaptation of the Book- both Terry Pratchett and @neil-gaiman know about it- and It has been given their blessing.
Those running the musical, Vicki Larnac (music & Lyrics), Jim Hare (Book), and Jay-James Moody (Book) are all very passionate and heartfelt, (and also seem very sweet) and I absolutely believes that it is in some of the best hands, hands down. There is a bunch of info on their website but if you only watch one thing watch the Video on the landing page. They talk about how the Good Omens musical came to be- It starts with what is already in the Sizzle reel and has bits and pieces of the musical scattered throughout it.

Other things:
I reached out to them via email recently (July 2023)(still so happy that I heard back from them~) and asked a couple of Questions, the most important one-
Q: Is this still an active project? Since last I heard about it was 2019-2020.
A: Yes! While COVID stopped progression on the project- they are still very much working on it! And have plans for the next step!
So while I am no expert in this musical, I am very happy to hear that is still being worked on.
But where can I watch the musical?
Right now- Nowhere. There isn't a full recording of this musical- what we do have- are clips of the musical, from the workshop version- we are still witnessing the starting stages of this production! It's quite exciting to see!
However there is at least one review out there on Tumblr by @seraphofshadows
