Mushroom Pals made for MY amazing pal @ledzephlin , inspired by their wonderful drawings !!! ILY bestie!
Pattern: Improvised!
Yarn: the bodies, spots, and the undersides of the caps are random scrap DK - held double for the big one! The red cap is Rowan Felted Tweed in I believe the shades ‘scarlet’ and ‘ginger’ held together- which turned out absolutely gorgeous in person. Yellow cap is Rowan Felted Tweed in ‘cumin’ held together with brown scrap DK, and the big purple cap is ‘Cygnet Seriously Chunky’ in ‘Dragon’ with James C Brett ‘Lazy Days’ in ‘Mustard’ for the accents (both leftover from my Halloween Sweater!)

Wanna hear about a mushroom? No? Well to damn bad :D your gonna be learning about…Hydnellum penkii! Or known as the devil’s tooth mushroom/fungus! The sap of the mushroom contains a chemical compound called ammonia! A Compound that has anticoagulant properties and is commonly used to help prevent blood clots from forming!! Commonly found in the Pacific Northwest of the North American continent, Hydnellum peckii is also distributed in other parts of North Korea and Europe. Recently, it has been reported in Korea, segments of the Middle East, and Russia, where in some years it is abundant but still fairly localised. While it isn’t known to be poisonous they aren’t really edible due to their foul taste and texture. This particular fungus was first described in 1912 by American mycologist Howard James Banker (1866-1940), when your looking for it look for a mature forest with a lot of moss on the ground and lot organic matter on the ground. Ehehe they look like like Werid candyyyy…now these are my notes on them. If I get some stuff wrong I am sorry I’m still learning. Stay tuned for a mushroom lady drawing :>…or some shark info..or..something! :D
