I have read and re-read your work so many times, it's unbelievable to me that I get to read such great writing for free! Thank you!
I'm trying to work up to writing something, in your opinion what is the best perspective to set a fic from? Do you have any big no's or tips? Thanks so much!
aww thank you for reading! i am glad you enjoy my writing <3 answers to the rest under the cut!
and hmm i'm not sure i understand the question about perspective. do you mean which character's pov should the fic be from? for me that always depends on the story. sometimes it's a bit more obvious, like which character is going to be moving the story along/the primary actor. for example in i bend like a willow, the story had to be from lily's pov because the story was mostly happening to lily. sometimes the story could be from anyone's pov, but whose thoughts or internal monologue will add the most to what i want to say? this was my thinking in unbelievers, where the story could easily have been multi pov or just from james's, but i wanted to focus on lily's tangled feelings about having shelved her career for a few years (like no surprises i wrote that in 2022 by the way). in come together i have a sense of who needs to be narrating most scenes for plot reasons, but there a couple where i'll be like [any marauder POV] or [any of the girls] in my outline, and i typically try to make sure whatever POV i pick is actually adding to the scene. remember that the cleanest, most efficient scene work is all about doing multiple things at once: can you further the action, establish character, deepen relationships, all at once? what pov is most fruitful to accomplish as many of those things at once with? especially when you're writing something with multiple or changing povs, it's so fun to play around with what parts of one character readers get to see directly, or see from another character's eyes.
in terms of no's: no self-deprecation. ever, not even as a joke. there's a difference between being honest with yourself and others when you want to improve your writing, and being like "here's my trash writing heehhoho" — i really do believe you can start to internalise the latter. be proud of what you've worked on, even once time passes and you improve, because that's evidence of the fact that you were brave enough to put yourself out there, and that you've come so far. don't get too preoccupied with promo or your numbers; that should always be a plus, not why you do it, especially when you're writing for free and it's not like kudos get you a royalty. don't write things other people are writing/things you feel like people want to read unless you're actually invested — why bother? fanfic is The place where your niche little story can turn out to be someone's favourite thing.
as for other tips: have fun! read widely, and reread often. when you read something you like, think about what it did that managed to capture you. how can you accomplish something similar in your work? when you're starting out, write often, even a few lines a day, just to keep that muscle warmed up. you can and should learn how you write best — in silence? with music on? in your room or in a public setting? during the day or at night? — but the most important thing is to just do it rather than trying to perfect the circumstances. hang on to every idea you have, because even if you don't end up using it right away, a banked premise can come back in a big, big way. and...have fun!!!

hey, tags! poking around for some rp partners to write with on discord! i'm 25+, she / her, on est, and looking for muns ( as well as faceclaims ) who are 23+! ♡
it's a shot in the dark, but, i'm really looking for some angsty, action-y, high fantasy / medieval plots to world-build into. oc / au only, please! examples ( not required ) include : unlikely allies, enemies to lovers, broken royalty, roughing it out in the forest because they're on the run, etcetera. akin to the lord of the rings, the witcher, things like that! i'm super into universe building, headcanons, pin boards, playlists, and i'm always brewing up hypotheticals... even if we don't end up threading them out. my style is 3rd person pov, past-tense, semi-para to multi-para, light purple prose ramblings, with an affinity for mirroring length — most of the time! mxm / mxf are preferred, and i like to keep things in a 70:30 split ratio for plot:smut! currently interested in musing :
✦ victon's hanse / sejun / seungwoo, viviz's umji, xeed's bao / jaemin, kard's jiwoo, twice's momo, woodz, hong dabin, christian yu, jang yeeun, park roya, and more!
my only plea : please, please, bring as much enthusiasm as you can. i'd rather d*e than read "sounds good!" or "it's up to you!". let's collaborate. your ideas and input are so valuable, and i wanna hear what you have to say! getting all giddy and kicking our feet over our silly storylines is literally half the fun of roleplaying for me. 🫶
aaand, that just about covers it! if any of this sounds like something you'd be into brainstorming around, please, please leave a like on this post. i'll reach out to you asap. thanks for reading! ♡

bee how do u organise your brainstorming for your fics?? bc LORD 😭😭😭 i have like at least three different discord channels and my google notes app that all has brainstorming for one au and it's impossible for me to find anything i feel like i have forgotten so many ideas just bc it'll be in a one off convo with one of my friends crying
im trying to now put it in one doc but like. my brain is so all over the place that i feel like i'll still lose stuff just bc of how random everything is fskjakdfj
oh uhhh it depends
for the most part if it's one of my longfics (which are usually the only ones I need separate brainstorming notes for, otherwise for my one shots and shorter fics I keep it all on just 1-2 docs including the fic itself) I keep it in google docs in a separate folder? like here's an example of what I mean
Tumblr media
this is in my mcyt fic folder. you can see I have separate folders for my longer fics (sleepyhead = glass divine, space royalty = stars, roses = under the hanging rose) and everything not in those folders are usually just one shots, random one off au ideas I'm not going to do anything with, or mini multi chapter fics. aka the stuff I don't need to do as much brainstorming for
inside my longer fic folders is where I usually keep more of my notes or references for certain bits, along with the actual fic outlines and the fic docs themselves. however lately I've developed a bad habit of throwing worldbuilding notes into the notes app on my laptop for god knows what reason. there's literally no reason for me to put my notes into the notes app as opposed to just making another google doc for it, but for some reason my brain likes it better for worldbuilding brainstorms.
so right now the rose brainstorming stuff is a bit all over the place as you can see here (going to put it under the cut so the post isn't too long)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm still trying to keep things organized, although it is getting really annoying having to constantly dig through my notes app to find my worldbuilding notes so I might give up soon and transfer them over to google docs. we'll see.
oh also you reminded me I do actually have discord planning channels for my stuff but I haven't really used my rose one that much. I did use my discord for planning mostly with stars and sometimes with glass. it was largely just for keeping track of characters
Tumblr media Tumblr media
honestly don't know why this worked for tracking my characters over just using a notes app I don't recommend it but if you do make sure to name your brainstorming channels consistently with whatever you're titling your docs so you can find them easily
anyway my advice is to just try to keep it all at least in one folder if you can't keep it all in one doc. and if you do end up making it more scattered, try to keep a consistent naming convention so you can identify docs/notes on the au quickly (unlike me who uses roses on google docs and has still not changed the label from 'hotd inspired' on my notes app)
hope that helps!

What is a zine?
A fanzine is a collaboratively-published magazine of fanworks. It can include art, writing, and many other kinds of creative work.
What is this zine about?
Tea, Toast & Ghosts is a character- and ship-neutral celebration of the Lockwood & Co fandom, meaning you can submit both gen and ship-related ideas. It is also open to both book and show canon, meaning there will be spoilers for show-only fans.
This issue’s theme will be:
“What’s your favorite part of Lockwood & Co.?” with a twist. We challenge you to frame your piece as something you might see in one of the gossip magazines Lockwood loves to read in his free time.
What will the format of this zine be in?
This zine will be made available as a free digital PDF, set in single-page, portrait A4 pages. We will also have a text-only accessible version made available for blind and low-vision fans.
What will be the rating for this zine?
This zine will be SFW, and will allow submissions rated from G up to PG-13.
Where can I apply?
Applications are open until 21st August. Our schedule can be found here.
We ask that you include three proposals for your piece in your application, so that we can see how well it goes with the zine concept, and to make sure there aren’t too many of the same ideas among different contributors. We will confirm the idea proposals with applicants only after they have been accepted as a zine contributor so these do not need to be final.
Who can apply?
Anyone interested, regardless of previous experience in zines or other related projects, may apply as a contributor.
A detailed list of eligibility requirements can be found in our Contributor Guidelines.
All applicants will be expected to include a working link to their portfolio (art account, writing account, or other examples of your work), so we can have a better understanding of who they are and what they may create for the zine.
Can I submit something I’ve already started working on or finished as part of my idea proposals?
Yes, so long as it is something you haven’t posted or shared publicly already. However, we recommend that you tailor your proposals so that they fit our concept and theme for this zine. New and unfinished works will be given priority.
I have only read the Lockwood & Co books / only watched the TV series. Can I still apply?
Yes, you can. However, we expect that there will be spoilers for both the books and show in the zine. We recommend that you complete both series before applying.
What are contributors expected to create?
We will be accepting several different forms of original, fannish work. A non-exhaustive list of examples can be found in the Contributor Guidelines.
Are all Lockwood & Co characters allowed?
Yes! We welcome both book and show interpretations of any Lockwood & Co characters.
Are collaborations allowed?
Yes! The zine is open to collaborations, but between confirmed contributors only. Collaborators will be expected to communicate well amongst themselves so they can deliver their zine pieces on time.
An individual contributor may also create a multi-media piece that involves both writing and artistic aspects.
Any content that is strictly prohibited?
Content may be evaluated and rejected on a case-by-case basis by the mod team. The following are not allowed:
AI-generated content (Whether fully or partially; this applies to both artwork and writing.)
RPF (Real Person/People Fiction)
Original Character-centric pieces. This zine is first and foremost a celebration of the existing characters we all know and love. Inclusion of OCs can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
Alternate Universe pieces (such as royalty AUs or spy AUs). This zine is set in The Problem-era England.
For further information, see the Contributor Guidelines.
I am taking part in the 2023 Lockwood & Co. Big Bang. Can I still participate in this zine?
We would love to have you! Please keep in mind that both the Lockwood & Co. Big Bang and this zine require a time commitment of several months where you will be expected to manage your own schedule, communicate with mods, and meet deadlines promptly.
While both events are centered around the same fandom, you will be expected to create a separate and unique piece for this zine.
I have an unanswered question. How can I contact you?
You can email us at [email protected], or send us an ask here on Tumblr. More information can be found on our Contact Us page.

How A BL Can Go From Melodrama to *Cinema* 🤩
1. Better production quality across the board. But particularly when it comes to set dressing (all BL markets), audio quality (Thai BLs), sound design and sound track. Tired of hearing unintentional real-room acoustics because GMMTV was too cheap to buy enough wireless mics for every actor, or because MeMindY thought wireless mics were the only kind of mics allowed ever and now we can hear every brush against the mic, or hearing the water on the beach over the actor's actual voice. Tired of the bland, plain "dorm room" with absolutely no personality that's clearly shot in a hotel room. Tired of the same 15-20 clearly royalty-free backing tracks blaring over an actor's voice at inappropriate times that are the editor's way of calling the viewers idiots by handfisting a cue that a tonal shift is occurring. And I am utterly exhausted with cheesy sound effects that completely suck the tension out of every scene! Just fucking stop!!!! Example of good production quality: The Blue Hour (not a series but still...).
youtube
2. Multi-season series (with shorter seasons overall). And no, I don't mean sequels (a la Tharntype 2/Still 2gether) where the characters are fundamentally in a different story. I want to see genuine conflict explored with the care it deserves, characters actualized, and romantic moments that linger just enough to leave viewers wanting more. Most BL storylines are entirely too rushed (or, on the other hand, feel like 2 different stories crammed into one season of television). I'd rather split up seasons by character arc the same way it's done in Hollywood or anime and cut seasons down from 12-14 episodes to 8-10. I feel like most Thai BLs would benefit from taking the multiple shorter-seasons than the one longer-season approach. Good example of a multi-season series, with strong pacing due to tighter seasons: Young Royals.

3. Better acting. And no, I don't mean crying and screaming because that's what the uninitiated think good acting looks like. I'm talking microexpressions when Neo portrays Boston's silent hurt watching Top take genuine interest in Mew. I'm talking the subtle glance down to Juntaek's lips when Jisub shows Jaewon's inital interest in Jihyun on their meetcute. And I'm talking the quiver of Fourth's voice when Gun is confronted with the reality that maybe he's not cut out for the music industry. A great performance doesn't necessarily have to be understated or even realistic, but it does need to be consistent with the story conventions and characters we're dealing with. Under/overacting to the point of parody is okay in satire. But doing so in a story that otherwise leverages typical romance/tragedy story beats looks ridiculous. It would also be great if all the lead actors were talented too.... Example of a good acting performance: Fourth (most of the time) in My School President.
4. Increased story variety. From broad themes and co-genres all the way to specific character arcs and tropes, we need more variety in BL stories (ESPECIALLY in KBL). Give me more period pieces, sci-fi, horror stories, star-crossed lovers, soulmates, magical boys, heroes' journeys, survival stories, mysteries, etc.! Good example of an unconventional character arc: Not Me.
Tumblr media
5. Longer Episodes for KBLs. This is one area of production I think the KBL industry can learn a lot from the Thai BL industry. While the stories I've watched never really feel rushed, they do feel a bit empty/inadequate. The writers could explore more themes and character drama just by lengthening episode runtime 10-15 minutes per episode. Good example of a KBL with many longer episode runtimes: The Eighth Sense.
Tumblr media
6. Subtlety. This is kind of an amalgam of 1 and 3 but I want to say more. Stop telling me the plot/character arc and just do the plot or arc. Stop cueing tonal shifts with on-the-nose music/sound effects and trust that, as your viewer, I am intelligent enough to know that the actors have gotten serious after a bout of laughter, or have simmered down from a heated exchange. When you cue your viewer, you either think they're dumb or you don't trust that your actor, director, and/or writer are doing their jobs. Either way, the viewer is left unsatisfied. Good example of subtle storytelling: I Told Sunset About You.

On Writing: Clearing Mental Underbrush
Sometimes when you get stuck on your writing, it’s because of stress. Make that more of an “often”, actually....
So how do you get unstuck?
In some cases the answer is (relatively) simple. You need more sleep. You need more alone time. You need more quiet sitting with the research books, and/or a space you can play your own music in so you can forget the rest of the world for a while.
How you get those may be - ahem - complicated. Blackout curtains are a thing. Making sure you switch off the TV, computer, or other monitor screens earlier in the evening is a thing. Laying down the law to your roommate that no, you can’t give them another hour out of your day to watch a TV show because you have a headache and would be really bad company is a thing.
I do advise against committing felonies for peace and quiet. I understand the impulse, believe me, but I hear prison food sucks and is not set up for people with multiple food allergies. Also the roommates are likely worse. Probably.
Other times the answer is more complicated. Stress is often a multi-factored thing that’s accumulated over time, and yanking one stressor out of the pile may not be enough. Still, it’s a place to start.
Look at anything coming up that has a deadline. Taxes, for example, are a major ARGH at this time of year. Especially if you have any self-employed income coming in, and that means most of us creative types. The anticipated stress of doing the taxes can knot your brain up so bad it’s worth taking a day of precious free time to sit down and rough the numbers out as soon as you’ve got them all.
(If you’re a writer getting royalties for the first time last year: 1040, Schedule 1, Schedule 2, Schedule C, Schedule SE, and likely the 1040-V. Yes you need them all. Yes you are going to be bouncing between them like a pinball. Yes it sucks. Especially seeing how large a chunk gets hoovered out.)
Another thing to look at is anything you know you need to get done, but aren’t sure how to do. Anything from an unfamiliar cleaning project (wax car how?) to cooking for a party (how much? Of what?) to interacting with new people - official or otherwise. In this case see if you can grab scratch paper and break the big task into smaller chunks, each of which you can research. Sometimes just the breaking-into-smaller-bites is enough to take the stress off.
And one final thing that gets a lot of creative types is the Pile of Unfinished Works.
Yeah, this is the scary one. As in, “I want to hide under the blankets, noooo!”
I don’t have really good suggestions for this one outside of, try to organize it. And have it somewhere you can pull it out and look at it if (and only if!) you want to. Do not have the folder/beads/stringcraft/whatever where you have to face it every day. That doesn’t work. All it does is intimidate the bunnies into running shrieking away, carrying all your joy and other ideas with them.
Have it where you can sneak up on it, if something occurs to you that will let you finish one off. Or at least get it Done Enough that you can declare it over. Otherwise, try not to think about it. Sometimes a creative project just doesn’t work. Focus on what does.
Then, with enough of the mental underbrush cleared, the writing will come back.
....And probably drag you away like a muse-stampede leaving you battered and bloody, but with words. Heh.

what does separate accounting mean?
OK first I'll explain how publishing accounting works in the first place. Sorry this does involve a LITTLE bit of math, but it's actually important, and I made it as easy as possible, and YOU ASKED, so.
Let's say you have a book deal. Congrats!
That book has an imaginary "pot" for money that it earns. It starts out empty.
When you get the advance, there's nothing in the pot yet obviously. So the publisher gives you a sum of money called an advance (aka an advance against royalties), and you have to earn that money back before you start making more money. Let's say they gave you a $10,000. advance. (This advance is generally paid in 2, 3, or more installments, but that's a tale for another day, the point is, this money gets removed from the pot.)
So now the pot for that book is negative: - $10,000
Every time you sell a copy of the book, you earn an amount that is specified in your contract. Let's say it's 10% of the cover price, and the cover price is $20. So for each book sold, $2. goes back into the pot.
Also, if the publisher keeps subsidiary rights, you'll get paid a specified percentage every time they do one of those deals. So let's say that they sold the book to Germany for $5,000 and you get 75% of translation deals -- then $3750 goes into the pot. And on and on -- whatever money the book earns, whether through deals like this, or through just selling copies, all of that goes into the pot.
Once the pot is out of the negative, you have "earned out" your advance. Now, all the money continues to go into the pot, and twice a year, you get a royalty statement and the pot money from that pay period. As long as the book is in print and selling, you will get $$. Forever, potentially.
(Important to note: Even if the pot NEVER gets out of the negative -- you don't have to pay the publisher back. It wasn't a loan; the original advance is yours to keep. And hopefully, eventually, it WILL earn out.)
NOW I can answer your question!
Let's say this is a multi-book deal. There are two ways it can be accounted.
Separate accounting means each book in the deal has its own pot. If it is a four-book deal for $10k a book, there are four $10k pots, and each must fill itself from the sales and rights deals done for THAT book.
The good: You might earn out more quickly because it's a smaller amount than the total amount. The bad: If the first book earns out but the others don't, you will only get royalties for that first book and the other pots will remain negative.
Joint accounting means that there is one big pot for all the books. So the bad part about that is, obviously, it might take longer to fill the pot -- $40,000 is a much larger amount to earn out than $10,000.
The alternate perspective is, hey, if the first book does really well, it will give a boost to all the other books -- so they might be close to, or already earned out before they even come out. And more books "working" to refill the pot potentially means that the pot will re-fill faster.
For the most part, agents prefer separate accounting, and we strive for that. And we usually get it in the case where it is a multi-book contract but NOT a series, or a fancy hardcover MG or YA series where the books are coming out a year apart from each other or some such. Because if book 1 could have earned out, but we can't even potentially get royalties until ALL the books have earned out, and they aren't even coming out for ages, that sucks.
HOWEVER. There are some cases where the publisher will push hard for joint accounting, and it also might make a certain amount of sense. For example: If it is, say, an early reader, chapter book or board book series, where the books are coming out simultaneously or in quick succession, so all the books will be out working to fill the pots at the same time, and the price point is rather low so VOLUME of sales is important, it kinda makes sense for those books to all help each other. Does that make sense?

SO, I've been thinking about Convergence (for those who don't know, it was my A Hat in Time au comic) and I wanna revisit it in near future, but with a twist - I will originify it!
I already have ideas, like Spica (the names is the same since I picked it up) being an adult and wearing some fancy lolita dress, and hat that serves as inventory and the umbrella that serves as multi-tool and also defies gravity.
"Snatcher" is gonna genderless (and idk yet what their name will be), while leaning into feminine spectrum a bit. Idk what their name gonna be, but they're the same "a royalty who actually wanted to make thing better for ppl got murdered by another politician (aka "Vanessa") and turned into ghost, and unwillingly ascended to godhood to save what remained from forest from complete rotting" thing.
I don't know when I will start working on it. I wanna plan it first, and then figure out how to draw many pages without burn out and what pace.
One of reason why I stopped is bc the artstyle was wonky and I couldn't stick to one. So I need to develop a style and stick to it, which def goesn into planning.
This gonna be fun thing to do, and potentially beneficial, bc it's my IP I can sell the comic for example, while slowly working on Sparkpulse.
On Sparkpulse side of thing, I almost edited the new chapter! I need to draw the art for it tho, so that why it will take longer to release since I'm still dealing with burnout.

Hello internet peoples!
I am slowly coming back to writing after a long hiatus.
I've found that requests drain my spirit, and I would much rather write multi-chapter fics. Is that something you all would enjoy? Examples include:
Naga!Heat x Reader (chapter 2 incoming!)
Anything Your Heart Desires Croc x OC fic
Bodyguard!Killer x Royalty!Reader fic (been working on this one in secret)
I might make more so I can hop from fic to fic where my muse pulls me. What do you guys think? Tbh, my longer stories are the ones people still message me to tell me that they love, they're the ones that I feel get the most appreciation and interaction. I love nerding out with people and would like to make more friends...
Tell me what you think ♡

maluma + him/he + male – have you seen pedro pablo “ pepa ” jaramillo around los angeles? the twenty nine year old is usually jamming to bandoleros by tego calderon and don omar. word around the city is that they’re charming, yet, they can also be possessive, but you didn’t hear that from me. they’re currently a multi platinum recording artist and are typically seen walking the streets of los angeles with their four legged companion rocco. when i think of them, i think of the devilish smirk tainted on his features , the smell of sauvage by dior and the tatted up chest and sleeves that have a story on them. let’s hope the city treats them good!
tw: mafia / drugs / carter / murder
pedro pablo " pepa " jaramillo was born on devils night ( or at lease thats what his grandmother used to say ) , born two minutes later than his twin sister at 10:02 am on october 31st, in medellin colombia. a fact that his twin loved to rub in his face , since she was born earlier , she was the boss and he had to do whatever she said. growing up with a majority masculinity in the jaramillo household was anything but pleasant. unlike his sister , he needed to prove that he was a jaramillo. that entailed fighting with his older brothers , in their mind : they were making him tougher. in his , well lets just say that it got worse before it got better. if there was anything that pepa was good at , it was certainly charming his way through any trouble he got himself into . ever since he was a little kid , trouble and pepa seemed like the perfect match : soulmates even. if there was anyone that pepa admired it was his father , he knew who they were , he knew what they did and still for someone reason , the thought of being part of something so dangerous , it made him feel powerful , respected. if there was anything that he learned from his father , it was simply that people respected power and they were royalty , no one dare even look at them the wrong way, he had learned that at a very young age.
at the age of twelve , his father decided that he would allow pepa to go with his oldest brother to a " meeting " it was supposed to be some kind of pardon from the Mexican cartel, their had been some bad blood and things were going to be amended. he knew this was his one shot to show his father , that he was man enough to be part of the family business. though things didn't turn out like that . right before coming down to an agreement , it was called off and that their had to be a price to pay, blood for blood . it all happened in a blur and the next thing as he looks down at his hands . he sees them covered in blood, his attempts to save his brothers life were futile , they shared a moment , a small moment before he lost him . the ride back home was silent , its like the world around him stopped moving, like there was nothing else that mattered . as he stepped in colombian soil, he locked himself up in his chambers and didn't speak to anyone , not even his twin , he didn't even attend his own brothers funeral. shortly after that , his mother decided that a life in colombia wasn't the best , especially for camilo , who was still rather young.
MIAMI was the next destination , his father had a lot of connections and people he trusted in , people who would bend backwards just to make sure that they had someplace to lay their heads. even his father started a winery business , to launder the money in of course. you can take the man out of the violence but you can't take the violence out of the man. his father was a prime example of this. the problem with business such as theirs , you always have a target on your back and most of the time , you're not even the goal itself . his mother was clear representation of that . another one lost , another one that had suffered at the hands of his father , part of him resented him , for letting this happen once again.
as the years went by , everything changed . the family wasn't the same and it all became about greed for his father, something that sadly pepa learned all too well. with a family like theirs , with the type of life that they lived . pepa needed an escape , he needed something that he could use instead of having blood on his hands. music was that outlet , music was what helped him get through life and it's what landed him in the city of dreams, a platinum recording artist and the co owner of JARAMILLO ROCK RECORDS but nothing in this life comes without a little bit of suffering. the true question is would this be a venture for the jaramillo twin or would this be the end of the line.

Warning for Genshin Impact Community:
I will write this post for the Genshin impact community and this girl is back again. But unfortunately is targeting the Genshin Impact Fandom.
If you see the username ‘Multi-Fandom Nerd’ on your dash or wherever you found it, BLOCK HER IMMEDIATELY.
This female is the subject of racism, sinophobia, homophobic and etc. The TWST Wonderland is free from this demon but she is now targeting the Genshin Impact Community.
Reasons to Block Multi-Fandom Nerd:
There are a lot of reasons to block mult-fandom nerds but I was label them based on reposts of the attack the TWST community.
She never took the time and EFFORT to named her ‘ocs’ based in the Chinese Culture.
She made black skinned versions of those Chinese characters and used name that does not fit with the Chinese’s name system.
For the Genshin Impact Community, she will try to do something about the shippers in this community(what will she do? That question is too disturbing for me to answer)
False Claims of the dark skinned characters(For Example: The loving Rock music player Xinyan {I haven’t played Genshin in soo long so correct me if I made a mistake})
For the Black People Community plus I myself who is black. She claims that black people can not be racist but in reality, everyone can be racist..no matter of ANY race.
Speaking of False claims and attacks of shippers, she will made a post about it and try to prove she is right
Okay I know this is mainly about the Genshin community but the TWST is safe from her but now..Genshin community is now victims of her.
So everyone please block her if she appears because interactions with her will only be worse for you.
Stay safe from her everyone. Even if you are the person who help others or try to confront them, don’t. You will never know what would she do or say about your ask.

Day 18 - Sacred Valley
We have breakfast at 7am so that we are ready for Lito to pick us up at 8am. I found Lito as a recommendation on a Facebook group. As soon as he picks us up I know that he is going to be a good guide - his English is really good. We’ve arranged to see 5 things and then be dropped off our at accomodation in Ollantaytambo.
Our first stop is Chinchero. It’s another multi purpose Inca site - Lito explains that it would have had housing, agriculture and religious a temple.
The site was probably built in the 1300s (this is before the height of their powers in the 1400s).
Lito explains that religious temples would have used the highest quality stone work. Whilst terraces were built for agricultural purposes.
Each stone is carved by hand and no mortar is used yet they look like they fit together perfectly. It’s so impressive the engineering skills they had back then. The stones can only survive earthquakes and still stand today because they hace a tongue and groove mechanism to lock together. Hematite is a type of stone that has a high iron content. This was likely used as a tool to carve the stones.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Upon questioning further we realise that it would have been slaves that built the structures. As an example Saksaywaman took 10,000 people to build. Somewhere like Chinchero would be about 5,000 people. Even with such large numbers of people towns like Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu would have taken 30+ years to complete.
Our second stop is an Alpaca farm. First we get to feed the Llamas and Alpacas and see the guinea pigs. The poor things are being sold for food and Lito is asking the owner if he has been selling a lot recently (it’s a specialty for Mother’s Day). Then the owner gives us some information - it has social aims to provide jobs for single mothers who have a pretty tough time in Peru. We learn (with demonstrations) all about the washing, spinning and dying process using traditional techniques. We are both given some bugs from a cactus plant and told to squash them in our hands - we both nearly scream when a bright red liquid covers our hands. From there, things are added e.g. salt that can change the colour of further. We each buy a jumper as a souvenir.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Our next stop is Moray where there are perfectly circular terraces exist. Historians initially thought it was an amphitheater as Incans used circles for their rituals. However it turns out that it was used for farming and specifically experimental farming. Each terrace is its own microclimate and the temperature at the centre is the warmest. They managed to adapt plants from lower elevations eg there is evidence of cocoa having been planted here. In order to do this they had to bring soil from subtropical areas to be able to grow the cocoa plants as the soil here is not fertile enough.
Tumblr media
Only one of the three circular terraces has been stored back in the 1990s. With the other two you can clearly see the stonework is still at the site and will likely be put back at some point in the future.
At this point Lito uses his guide books to show us a few things - firstly the terraces are not just built with stone. Each terrace has layers of soil, sand, gravel and stones for drainage. All of these would have had to have been brought in 🤯 Also we see an image that shows the class hierarchy in the Incan times. In fact…only the royalty were actually referred to as Incans and they had their own language. The rest of the people spoke Quechuan and there is a very clear social hierarchy down to the slaves.
Lito is able to speak Quechuan - the native language. He learnt this from his grandparents. It’s good to hear that the language is still alive and thriving outside of Cusco. We’ve also noticed that the Peruvian culture is well and truely alive e.g. traditional clothing is not just for tourists - it’s something that they all seem to still wear and is really nice to see.
As we leave via Moray town Lito stops and we buy some chicha from a vendor through the car window (ordered in Quechuan). It’s a fermented corn drink that has a low alcohol content. We get the one with strawberry. Lito says that this is drank in place of water in Moray and Jack asks “I assume the kids don’t drink this though?” But oh no, the kids drink it too 😂
Tumblr media
Our next stop is the Maras Salt mines. The mines are collectively owned by the town and every resident is entitled to their own ponds but they have to maintain them themselves. Newer residents of the town will need to built their ponds at the very bottom of the hill.
The salt is formed because the spring is naturally salty it’s very unusual but they think that the mountain is full of salt and the water dissolves it as it comes out. The water is directed via channels that go to leach of the pools. The water fill the pools and within 5 days it has evaporated. They repeat the process 5-6 times to get about 10ish centimetres of depth. The layers have different properties - the lower ones are brown salt with minerals, the middle ones are pink salt and the top is white salt. It is believed that the Incas used this site to harvest salt, however in recent times it wasn’t until the 1970s that the ponds were created and it has been expanding from there ever since.
Tumblr media
We stop for lunch at a buffet restaurant which is needed by this point!! Jack tries guinea pig but I can’t do it after seeing them at the Alpaca farm earlier today.
Our last stop is the Ollantaytambo Incan site. We drive through the cobblestone streets of the town and in the main square.
This area was strategically important as it was the intersection of three valleys (each of which was an inca trail). It was a place where people from the four different states could meet via the different trails and trade food.
Tumblr media
Ollantaytambo is one of the latest sites to be built and is thought to still have been in progress when the Spanish invaded. The site is again multi purpose - you can see terraces for agriculture, there is a site that is used as a calendar - the sun will rise either side of the mountain in summer vs winter and in the middle of the mountain during spring/autumn. At the top is a temple - Lito explains that this is the piece that was still in progress. The stonework here is the most impressive of all - the pieces are absolutely huge. Also they had by this point innovated their techniques with the “tongue and groove” to improve it:
Tumblr media
Whilst the Incas didn’t have a written language on the temple you can see vague carvings of the Inca cross - this represents life stages going up (prime of your life), going down (as you get older), death and the afterlife (further down), and back up to rebirth. When the Spanish arrived they tried to remove as many symbols as possible in order to establish Catholicism as the only religion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wow it was a big day of sightseeing so Lito drops us off at our hotel in Ollantaytambo. We say our farewells and check in. The B&B is a bit basic but it’s big selling point is that it has a terrace on the roof that overlooks the town and the Inca site, however it’s too cold to spend more than a few minutes up there.

Decoding the Profit & Loss Statement: A Comprehensive Guide
Tumblr media
Introduction:
The Profit & Loss (P/L) statement, also known as the income statement or statement of earnings, is a fundamental financial document that provides a snapshot of a company's financial performance over a specific period. In this article, we will delve into the definition, types, components, uses, and provide an illustrative example to demystify the Profit & Loss statement.
Definition:
The Profit & Loss statement is a financial report that summarizes a company's revenues, costs, and expenses during a given period, typically a quarter or a year. Its primary purpose is to showcase the company's ability to generate profit by increasing revenue and managing expenses effectively.
Types of Profit & Loss Statements:
There are two main types of Profit & Loss statements: single-step and multi-step.
Single-Step Profit & Loss Statement:
This format is relatively straightforward, presenting all revenues and gains in one section and all expenses and losses in another.
The net income is calculated by subtracting total expenses from total revenues.
It is commonly used by smaller businesses with simpler financial structures.
Multi-Step Profit & Loss Statement:
This format provides a more detailed analysis of revenues and expenses by categorizing them into operating and non-operating activities.
It includes multiple intermediate steps in the calculation, such as gross profit and operating income, before arriving at the net income.
Larger companies with more complex operations typically use this format for a more nuanced financial analysis.
Components of the Profit & Loss Statement:
Revenues:
Revenues, also known as sales or turnover, represent the total income generated from the primary business activities of the company.
It includes the sale of goods or services, interest income, royalties, and other sources of income directly related to the core business.
Cost of Goods Sold (COGS):
COGS includes all direct costs associated with producing goods or services sold by the company.
For manufacturing companies, this encompasses raw materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
Subtracting COGS from revenues yields the gross profit.
Gross Profit:
Gross profit is a key indicator of a company's operational efficiency and profitability.
It is calculated by deducting the COGS from total revenues.
Operating Expenses:
Operating expenses encompass all costs not directly tied to the production of goods or services.
Common categories include selling, general and administrative expenses (SG&A), research and development, and marketing expenses.
Operating Income:
Operating income is derived by subtracting operating expenses from gross profit.
It represents the profitability of the company's core business activities.
Non-Operating Items:
Non-operating items include revenues and expenses that are not directly related to the company's core operations.
Examples include interest income, interest expenses, and gains or losses from the sale of assets.
Net Income:
Net income, also known as the bottom line, is the final figure on the Profit & Loss statement.
It is calculated by subtracting non-operating items from operating income.
Uses of the Profit & Loss Statement:
Financial Analysis:
Investors and analysts use the Profit & Loss statement to assess a company's financial health and performance over time.
Decision-Making:
Management relies on the P/L statement to make strategic decisions, identify areas for cost control, and allocate resources efficiently.
Investor Communication:
Companies use the Profit & Loss statement to communicate their financial performance to shareholders and stakeholders.
Creditworthiness:
Lenders and creditors evaluate a company's ability to repay loans and meet financial obligations by analyzing its Profit & Loss statement.
Example of a Profit & Loss Statement:ABC Corporation Profit & Loss Statement For the Year Ended December 31, 2023 Revenues: Sales: $2,500,000 Interest Income: $10,000 Total Revenues: $2,510,000 Cost of Goods Sold: Cost of Goods Manufactured: $1,200,000 Gross Profit: $1,310,000 Operating Expenses: Selling Expenses: $300,000 General and Administrative Expenses: $150,000 Research and Development: $50,000 Total Operating Expenses: $500,000 Operating Income: $810,000 Non-Operating Items: Interest Expense: $20,000 Gain on Sale of Assets: $5,000 Net Non-Operating Items: ($15,000) Net Income: $795,000
Conclusion:
The Profit & Loss statement is a critical tool for assessing a company's financial performance, allowing stakeholders to gain insights into its revenue generation, cost management, and overall profitability. Understanding the components and types of P/L statements equips investors, analysts, and decision-makers with the knowledge needed to make informed judgments about a company's financial health and strategic direction.
