MonkieTober day 8: Princess Iron Fan

Been a while, but I mansged to finish the 8th drawing of my InkTober challenge, MonkieTober! ^^ Prompt 8 was Princess Iron Fan, and I got this idea during the time I was prograstinating on the DBK drawing xD This one was a lot of work. Normaly I sketch the drawings directly on my aquarel paper (that's why you can sometimes see traces of my erased sketch lines), but for this one I had to sketch it on normal paper first. I drew the front view first, than traced the outer lines and build the back view from that on a secound paper. Sketched the mirror and table on that 2nd paper as well, than re-positioned the front view and traced it into the mirror. And THAN I had to use tracing paper to transver the entire thing onto my aquarel paper xD AND I had to make sure to cover up the blue lines properly, becouse they are barely eraseable! So much back and forth work, but at least the finished drawing turned out nice xD Feel free to participate in #MonkieTober as well! I will reblog all entrys I see! :3

Y'know that scene with one of the best background medieval-village tracks in fil history- (kingdom dance) where Rapunzel looks at the mosaic? Yea this is that

Unfortunately I don't have the patience to draw all them itty bitty tiles so I kinda cheated and used a stone texture layer on top (^-^')\

YOU WON'T BELIEVE HOW MUCH TROUBLE DBK'S EYEBROWS GAVE ME.

I NEEDED TO TAKE THIS BULL TO GET HIS EYEBROWS TWEEZED MULTIPLE TIMES!!!!!

Hope you don't mind but I gave a couple more details to our favorite celestial-bull couple.

I mean Iron Fan is supposedly an empress of an empire right? Why not make her look the part? I didn't know how to bling up DBK though...

Also you might notice, I've drawn the samadhi flower! It has four big petals and four small in between (nod to the four rings) a pattern within shaped like flames (self explanatory) and a center with the 3 swirly thingy symbol (idk what it's called)

LIL BABY RED SON!!!!

They were such a joy to draw! And ngl it was hard to draw everyone not pissed off....

They all have the sharp features!

You might notice right next to the lil baboo, DBK's hands are kinda charred to a crisp (I read the 1st chapter, yes I know) but this boi is grinning like there's no tomorrow with his wife and child and we love that for him!

There's a pot of burning incense which the chinese use for the dead which I don't think the ironbull couple would like very much.

Like they'd let the townsfolk do it, they're just being respectful, but they'd still resent it in hopes that their son is still alive somewhere

Welp! They're finally here; the Demon Bull Family - Journey To The West design! Sorry for the wait :)

I'm not sure if this is Canon but I read somewhere that Redson was around 300 years old during Journey to the west, but looked around 9, so that would mean demons age only once every 30 years. Again, I'm not sure if this is true, if anyone does, by all means let me know :))

A little more similar than you think

I'm gonna talk abt this one because quite literally, nothing drives me more insane than Princess Iron Fan and Red Son's relationship. This is based on the headcanon I've seen around that Red Son's hair turns black like coal when it gets wet, which I found really cute!! Until I realized that if that happened he'd look exactly like Princess Iron Fan and that. Hurt-/lh

My all time favourite thing to do when shipping Red Son with either Mei or MK (mostly MK) is make Princess Iron Fan a hypocrite. She'd absolutely in no fucking universe approve (at first) because she and DBK value familial loyalty above all else. But that's only the case because DBK betrayed his sworn brothers to persue her and Princess Iron Fan was disowned by her family and cast out from the heavens for marrying him so their family is literally all they have really. So her son loving the enemy would immediately mean that he's going to abandon his family for them because that's what she would do. That plus all the tension thats built up between them after only having eachother during the 500 years DBK was imprisoned, I just think it's really fun poking at their relationship.
