By • Olalekan Fagbade Stop inter-Agency rivalry - NSCDC Commandant-General urges Security operatives Dr Ahmed Audi, Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Monday in Abuja called on security operatives to shun inter-agency rivalry to foster Mational security. Audi gave the charge at a security seminar tagged: “Promoting inter-agency collaboration among security agencies’’. The seminar had heads of paramilitary agencies from the Northeast and Southeast geopolitical zones in attendance. Audi noted that rivalry was capable of eroding relationships between security agencies and consequently rub off negatively on the provision of adequate security. He noted also that security agencies worked tirelessly to achieve the same goal of providing and maintaining security, stressing that no single agency had the monopoly of strategy to nip conflicts in the bud. He also stressed the importance of collaboration, coordination and partnership between security agencies. “Your participation at this seminar is an indication that we are making progress in enhancing synergy to boost coordination during collaborative operations,’’ Audi said. He encouraged participants to share their field experiences during the seminar’s interactive sessions to enhance policy-making decisions. He also cautioned heads of security agencies to be more cautious and to always be at alert so as not to fall victim to nefarious antics of societal misfits. “Be careful about your movements and itinerary as social misfits plan to start picking on heads of security agencies in states,’’ he admonished. In his remarks, Mr Lukas Laible, Deputy Resident Representative of Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung, a German development partner in Nigeria, noted that security agencies’ participation at the seminar indicated their willingness to promote security. Laible represented the Resident Representative of Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung in Nigeria, Mrs Marija Peran, at the seminar. He stressed the need for collaboration between security agencies considering Nigeria’s security situation. “You are all front runners so we hope the training helps you to understand one another better, notwithstanding the difference in points of view in certain areas,’’ he said. In another presentation, Dr Uju Agomoh, Executive Director, Prisoners’ Rehabilitation and Welfare Action, said it was imperative for heads of security agencies to study Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution. She said compliance with the rule of law should be observed efficiently such that law served the purpose of establishing standards, maintaining order, resolving disputes and protecting liberties and rights. “Security agencies should work together to maintain the rule of law because it is important to display good conducts as this will show people what to comply with. “There are a lot of things to be done at our level; hence, not portraying lawful behaviours is as powerful as anything because citizens follow what they see. “Observance of the rule of law is a major way to promote adequate security because lack of rule of law leads to injustice, anger, discontent and conflicts,’’ Agomoh said. Posting Schedule!
Just a heads up!
I like to have a posting schedule to organize how I work.  Otherwise, I end up posting whenever, and that usually leads to posting anxiety and I burn out. So, schedule (which leads to its own anxieties if I miss a deadline, but its better than random burnout, so it is what it is)! Okay, Schedule:
OG/OC Monday:
Basically, whatever original finished art that's on my mind/in the buffer to post that day. Usually an Abby-caper comic, but not restricted to them if I feel like it. Admittedly, a lot of my old Abby art needs to be redrawn to fit her current designs and my coloring style for my kink, but if its finished and ready to go up with the accompanying Abby-caper, it'll go!
Abby-Capers: The kinky misadventures of a halfing girl who just wants to go on a walk and explore the world!
Abby-Cubes/Doodles: fun doodles to explore kink, usually at Abby's expense!
Abby-Mations: fun little animations to explore kink, with tons of bouncing butts and Boobs!
Work-in-Progress Wednesday:
A small preview of whatever's coming up for the following week's OG/OC Monday and Fanart Friday. These will usually migrate to scraps once their accompanying art has gone up, so don't get too attached; just consider them a preview. Alternately, if its an Abby-art that's not a "caper" (usually an Abby-mation, since those tend to take significantly longer), it might not go up immediately the following OG/OC Monday, so keep your eyes peeled.
Fan-art Friday:
Exactly what it says on the tin: Fanart from things that I neither created, nor had a supporting hand in creating. For the time being, if there's a series (either Illustration or comics-I've got a few of those in the works) that I'm working on, that'll go up on Fridays, the current one (at the time of this writing) being "Pauline's Super Peril Odyssey."  When I get commissions (for which I need to make a sheet), this is where they'll go as well.
Current series: Pauline's Super Peril Odyssey: "Mayor Pauline goes on a World tour at the recommendation of some friends. Unfortunately, the world is still full of dangers waiting to sweep unsuspecting travelers off their feet!"
Hope that helps, and now you know what to expect from Ol' Saunter. Will I stick to this? I hope so. God, I hope so, but its a decent frame to work with, and I have a lot of art to share, so it should be fine! It'll be fine! Everything will be fine!
(*Arrested Development Narrator: Everything was not going to be fine")
Note: this was taken from Deviantart. Since that has a head start, I’m going to do one post a day until I’m caught up with DA so I’m not running five different schedules.
Saunyanara, Everybody!
(God, that was bad and I feel bad)

DEAN TV GIRLS II: EPISODE 3⃣4⃣: CATH MEET CATH
Hi and welcome to episode thirty four of Dean Tv girls 2.
On a Monday agian but not Tuesday, cos sometimes doing it on Tuesdays can be diffrent. But Monday is good, and I am so happy that I post a Dean Tv love tune titled Tv love mation or Dean Tv love animation. First tune that I posted since train station blues. Which is also a Tv love track, with the trumpet sound. Tv love mation tune sounds like R&B in my opinion.
Now time for this episode of Dean Tv girls 2. Cath and Laura are at their apartment, Cath is happy that she has medal for participating in the summer games during the swimming race. Laura got a medal for the running. The girls still miss Sophie who use to live with them but now she lives with Brandon and Brandon Jr. “Yeah and still looking after her son” said Cath. Thats what I said Cath. “Oh!” she went. Laura laughed till one day a loud bump sound been heared outside the door. “What was that?” asked Cath. “Not sure” said Laura. The two went to open the door of the house, its someone outside lying down on the ground unconscious. “Hey this lady looks like me” said Cath. “It is you, must be from the future” said Laura. “Well she has a badge with my name on it” said Cath. Cath looks at it, saying smoke police. “Smoke police?” said Cath. “What?” said Laura. “Smoke police” said Cath. “Smoke police or smoke please?” asked Laura. “Smoke police” said Cath. Till Cath had a flashback hearing Dean telling her that their is another Cath who lives in the diffrent universe which is the one they encounter now. The other Cath wakes up. “Oooh my head” she said. “Hey she is up” said Cath. “Yes” said Laura. Cath of the smoke universe as you now wears black shoes, black socks, black skirt, black shirt with a black jacket. The 2 girls take Cath of the smoke universe to the apartment. “Seems like Dean is right, you are me from another universe. The smoke universe of Dean Tv” said Cath. “Yes I am and what universe is this?” said smoke Cath. “This is the real universe of Dean Tv” said Cath. “Of course, I need to stop that guy. He’s in this universe causing trouble” said Smoke Cath. “Really?, we must stop him then” said Cath. “Hold on I wanted to know why your here?” asked Laura. “Cos she is going after the bad guy who keeps hoping in diffrent universes” said Smoke Cath. “I know that” said Cath. “If I capture the villian then I will return back to the smoke verse” said smoke Cath. “We will help you” said Laura. Cath agrees, so the 2 girls went out with the smoke cath. To find the bad guy in London, Dean joined in too. Cos she knows Cath of the smoke verse, he met her in early August of twenty twenty. In one of the episodes of Dean Tv love 4. Dean Tv man, Cath, Laura and smoke cath. See the bad guy and after him but the bad guy showed his smoke fighters not cyborgs. Cath, Laura, Dean Tv man with smoke Cath. Fought the smoke fighters, then Smoke Cath went after the bad guy. “Right your time is up, give up now” she said. But the bad guy went to fight, smoke Cath fought agianst the villian. Cath joined in. “Its so nice to see my otherself from another universe” said Cath. “Yes I know but my world is not the same as yours” said smoke cath. The bad guy lost the fight so smoke Cath capture the bad guy in a ball. “There he wont cause trouble anymore” said smoke Cath. “Do you do this all the time in your universe?” asked Cath. “Well sometimes” said smoke cath. “Cool” said Cath. Smoke Cath did not have time to explain, she has to return back to her world to see Dean smoke. Dean smoke is so happy to see her. “Well done” he said. The smoke police were very proud of her. The next day in the real universe of Dean Tv, Dean watches a rerun of the Matthew people show. Dean sees himself in the show dancing. The silly dance, Matthew and the others did the same too. Everyone laughed even the puppy. “Thats you with the beard?” asked the puppy. “Yes thats me” said Dean. In the smoke universe Dean smoke sees Dean watching the Tv. Smoke Cath did the same.

Records and Briefs of the United States Supreme Court, 1832
Page 4: 2. Whether an injunction against the participation in a National Political party Convention, and in other National Party affairs, of persons seated in said Convention by its Credentials committee, and by vote of the delegates to the Convention, violates the Constitutional rights of free political association of said persons and said National Political party and its members?
3. Whether state law exclusively governs the selection and seating of delegates to a National Political Party Convention, and participation in other National Party affairs, notwithstanding applicable rules and deacons of the National Political party?
Page 5: The challenge against the seating of respondents in the 1972 Democratic National Convention was filled with the Acting Chairman of the Credentials Committee on March 31, 1972. Under the National Democratic Party Rules, the Acting Chairman of the Credentials Committee appointed a Hearing Examiner to hear evidence on the challenge and determine whether National Party Rules had been violated. Cecil F. Poole, former United States Attorney for the Northern District of California, as appointed Hearing Examiner on the Chicago challenge.
Page 6: With regard to participation by racial minorities, women and young people, the Examiner expressly rejected any interpretation of the National Party Rules as involving a “quota” system, stating that “any such principle would be encumbered by grave doubt in any case.” (at p. C-4.) The Examiner found that “the Party [in Chicago] has failed in its basic obligation to open up to fuller participation by those who have been excluded” (at p. C-4) and that “the selectivity [in slatemaking] which so heavily favored entrenched office holders and regulars was also operate in the choosing of women, the young and racial minorities, and that it discriminated against them individually and substantially.” (at p. C-21)
Page 7: On Friday, June 30, 1972, the Credentials Committee of the 1972 National Convention (consisting of representatives of each state delegation), after hearing argument on the contest, voted to sustain the Examiner’s Report and to seat petitioners as the delegates form the Chicago districts in light of respondents’ “deliberate, cover and calculated” violations of National Party Rules. The 1972 Democratic National Convention, at its opening session on Monday, July 10, 1972, upheld the decision of the Credentials Committee.
Page 8: At the same time, in a companion case instituted by the delegates elected under California law who had been denied a portion of their Convention seats by the Credentials Committee, the Court of Appeals reversed the decision of the Credentials Committee on the ground that the Credentials Committee’s decision on the California challenge was not made in accordance with applicable National Party Rules and violated the due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.
Page 9: This Court emphasized the historical right of the National party conventions to decide credentials contests. …..
Page 15: As a result of the Circuit Courts order, respondents, and not petitioners, participate in the August 5 caucus. Petitioners immediately filed with the Democratic National Committee notice of intent to challenge the results of the August 5 caucus under National Party Rules and to call a new caucus to choose members of the Democratic National Committee in accordance with the Rules at such time as the order barring petitioners from exercising their rights as delegates granted by the 1972 Convention should be vacated on appeal.
Page 21: The decision of the Illinois Appellate Court that “the law of the state is supreme and party rules to the contrary are of no effect” (at pp. B-24-B-25) means that any power int he national party to enforce and apply its own rules and standards is substantially eliminated. The effect of the Appellate Court decision, if valid, is that resort in virtually all contests at future national conventions will be to the state courts, denying to the national party conventions the historical right (specifically upheld by this Court in Keane v. National Democratic Party) under which “for nearly a century and a half the national political parties themselves have determined controversies regarding the seating of delegates to their conventions.” (at p. A-5)
Page 24: There is also no basis for the suggestion of the Illinois Appellate Court that this Court’s decision of July 7 was not concerned with “state laws, election of delegates or their rights” and that this Court’s deacon operated only to free the processes of the national party from Federal and not state court intervention. (at p. B-12) In both the Chicago and California cases, this Court was directly concerned with delegates elected in accordance with state law and this Court clearly upheld the right of the 1972 Mational Convention, in the circumstances of the two cases, to refuse to seat such delegates. While some of the specific references in this Court’s opinion of July 7 are to Federal courts, all of the principal ground stated by this Court in its opinion apply by their terms to the prospect of state as well as Federal court action.
Page 29: Footnote: ….. None of the other cases cited by the Appellate Court even concerns the relationship of state laws to a National Party Convention. The other cases all involve regulation by state law and state courts of internal state political party affairs.
Page 30: There are repeated instances in which the national party conventions of both political parties have refused to seat delegates chosen in accordance with state law (whether by committee, convention or primary election) and have seated delegates chosen by alternative processes. See generally Leventhal, “The Law of National Party Conventions,” The New York Law Journal (Aug. 25, 1964); R. Bain, Convention Decisions and Voting Records (Brookings 1960).
Page 50: The composition of a National Party Convention — in substance the definition of the National Party and what it stands for — would no longer be determined by the National party itself, but rather by the state courts. The manner in which the state courts would actually exercise this power could vary from State to State. Thus, for example, requirements of National Party loyalty might be enforceable as to delegates from New Hampshire but not those from Nevada, National Party rules barring closed state making by local parties might be valid in Ohio but not in Illinois, National Party principles of non-discrimination might apply in Texas but not in Mississippi.
Such a holding conflicts with the most fundamental political rights of our National Political Parties to define themselves and to exist and function as national political organizations. It conflicts with the fundamental rights of citizens to associate freely together in National Political Party activities.
A. For almost a century and a half the National Political Parties themselves have decided contests over the seating of delegates to their National Convention, rejecting the proposition that they are bound to seat delegates selected in accordance with state law.
Page 67: B. The holding of the Illinois Appellate Court would deprive citizens associating together in a National Political Party of the constitutional right, inherent in the fundamental nature and necessary to the functioning of National Party organizations, to determine the composition of their National Party Conventions in accordance with National Party rules, standards and principles.
The holding of the Illinois Appellate court in this case would bring the resolution of credentials contests and the determination of the composition of National Party Conventions by the National Political Parties themselves — which, as discussed above, has been the practice for almost 150 years — to an end. If state law exclusively governs the qualifications of National Convention delegates, as the Illinois court held, then the right of the National Party to determine the compassion of its National Convention in accordance with its own rules and principles is abrogated. Only persons approved by a state court could be seated in the National Party Convention, regardless of whether (as the National Democratic party found in the case of respondents) those persons have deliberately and grossly violated basic National Party rules and principles. Petitioners submit that such a holding is in direct conflict with the constitutional right of American citizens to associate together in a National Political Party on the basis of national rules, standards and principles.
Page 73: Respondents were wholly free — and vigorously exercised the right — to debate the wisdom of the Democratic Party’s decision on the Chicago contest. But petitioners submit that the right of the persons assembled in the Democratic National Convention to make that decision was — as in the case of other credentials contests at National Conventions in the past — at the very heart of the constitutionally protected freedom of petitioners and other citizens throughout the nation to associate together in a National Political Party and the right of that National Party to define itself an to exist and function as a National Political Party organization.
Page 82: What the decision of the Illinois Appellate Court amounts to is a holding that because a National Party chooses to allocate a portion of its Convention delegates on the basis of state boundaries (or to districts within a particular State), the National Party thereby forfeits entirely to the State its fundamental right to determine who shall participate in its National Convention and what rules, standards and principles its delegates are obligated to uphold. There is no constitutional support for such a holding.
The one common characteristic which must be maintained by any alternative mechanism for nominating a Presidential candidate is that it must ultimately be a national process. The objective is to choose a candidate who can achieve a nationwide majority of the electoral votes. As stated in Bode v. National Democratic Party, 452 F 2d 1302 (D.C. Cir. 1971):
Page 83: “In the arena of Presidential politics, the primary function of a national party convention…. is to select among a field of available persons Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates most competent to perform the duties of office, yet capable of attracting a sufficient number of popular votes to carry the request number of States in the election. This process of sorting and unification requires a judgment exercised toward maintaining and enlarging party appeal on a national scale.” 452 F 2d at 109.”
See also Irish v. Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, 287 F. Supp. 794, 805, aff’d, 399 F 2d 119 (8th Cir. 1968). The States may decide to appoint their Electors in a variety of ways; but “a party must be organized nationwide in order to command a majority of the elector votes.” Goodman, supra, at 33.
The concept of a State being able to restrict the freedom to engage in such a Presidential nominating process is contrary to its inherently national character. A National Party establishes and operates its nominating process with a view to achieving its national political objectives — particularly nominating and electing a President and Vice President of the United States. Particular States (and their legislatures and courts) may or may not approve of particular National party processes or actions — e.g., the Illinois courts disapproved the seating of petitioners in the 1972 Democratic National Convention, a court in Mississippi disapproved the seating of the Mississippi “Loyalists.”
[Footnote: An extreme instance of such local disapproval of National Party activities is contained in the proceedings of the Republican National Convention prior to and during the Civil War and Reconstruction eras when Republican delegates from the southern States frequently reported facing mobs and threats of violence for attending a Republican National Convention. See, e.g. 1860 Republican Proceedings at pp. 112-113.
Page 84: A National Party may choose not to have a National Convention at all, or to allocate delegates by regions, or not to allocate any delegates to a particular State, or to have all of the delegates form a State consist of designated office holders. Subject to possible constitutional limitations not involved in this case (or conceivably to Congressional regulation), these are matters within the ultimate power of the National Political Parties and not the States. There is, of course, nothing in the Constitution which bars any State from conducting a process for the selection of National Convention delegates. But a State cannot dictate to a National Party that it accept certain State-approved delegates, notwithstanding applicable National Party rules and practices.
Page 85: In addition to its other sources of protection, this right of citizens to participate in National Party affairs is protected from state interference by the Privileges and Immunities Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. Mr. Justice Harlan, dissenting in Shapiro V. Thompson, 394 U.S. 618 (1968), noted that this Court has consistently adopted a restrictive view of the Privileges and Immunities Clause….
Page 86: Even under this restrictive view, the right to attend a National Party Convention or otherwise participate in a national process to select and promote a nominee for President of the United States is protected but he Privileges and Immunities Clause.
Page 88: As stated by Judge Will, for the 50 States to determine “the qualifications and eligibility of delegates to national political party conventions” is “an obviously intolerable result.” (A.-13.) It is contrary to the inherently national character of the Presidential nominating process — and in conflict with the constitutional right of citizens of the United States to engage in that process — for any State to be able, as the Illinois court asserts, to bar the application by a National Party Convention of its own national rules and principles and to bar the participation in such a Convention of persons whom the assembled delegates have voted to seat.
Page 91: The Appellate Court’s references to that Report are, almost without exception, erroneous. The Poole Report did not “ignore the State law,” as the Appellate Court states (A.-139.); the Report expressly acknowledge that respondents were elected at the Illinois primary (A.-24.) and that the Democratic Party in Illinois had taken steps to bring the Illinois Election Code into conformity with the National Party Rules (A.-29.). Moreover, respondents were wholly free and vigorously exercised the right to argue in the Credentials Committee and in the National Convention that, because of their elections in accordance with state law, they should be seated in the Convention.
Page 92: Footnote: Respondents have never argued that the actions of the National party were not taken in accordance with explicit and announced National Party Rules. The Hearing Examiner noted, among other things, testimony that Mayor Richard J. Daley told a meeting of the Chicago committeemen that he “didn’t give a damn” about the Rules. (A.-30.)
Page 93: With regard to a possible violation of “equal protection rights” the Illinois Appellate Court’s statements are even more cryptic. (A.-150.) Respondents were found to have deliberately violated explicit and announced National Party Rules. No claim or dinging was made in the court below that those Rules were unconstitutional. (Such a claim was, of course, made by respondents and rejected by the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia prior to the 1972 Democratic National Convention.) The statement of the Illinois Appellate Court appears to mean that the enforcement of any National Party Rules in relation to a primary election violates the equal protection clause. It is conceivable that the equal protection clause would prohibit a National Party from establishing and enforcing certain types of rules. But it is difficult to see on what basis the Fourteenth Amendment could be read to prohibit enforcement of any rules or principles in relation to delegates chosen in a primary election.
Page 94: “The Democratic National Party determined to make participation in the nomination process as democratic as possible. This exercise of the Party’s power over the qualifications of the delegates to its convention was pursuant to a reasonable regulation calculated to achieve a permissible, indeed laudable, end. The action of the Credentials Committee [in seating petitioners instead of respondents] was taken on the basis of a clear and constitutional rule…. Moreover, the rule had been announced — and understood — as applicable to the selection of delegates prior to the election process.” (A.-54.)
Page 3: ARGUMENT. This case presents the critical question of the relationship between state laws dealing with the selection of delegates to national party nominating conventions and the rules, procedures and decisions of the national party conventions themselves. Amici hold the view that the decision below that “the law of the state is supreme” (App. B-24) reverses our national political history directed toward more democratic political processes within the two major parties.
Over the years, the states have provided the mechanism for the selection of delegates, and as a general practice the national parties have accepted delegates chosen under the procedures laid out by the states. But the states may enforce their election laws only in ways not inconsistent with the right of the national parties, within federal constitutional limits, to formulate rules and procedures for, and to make decisions concerning, the selection of delegates to their national nominating conventions. National party rules, procedures and decisions concerning the selection of delegates to national party conventions obviously supersede state laws were conflicts occur; a contrary rule of law would surrender the necessary authority of the National parties in governing their national nominating systems to the mercies of 50 different state legislatures and their conflicting value judgments.
Footnote: This case presents only the question of state action in direct conflict with national party rules, procedures and decisions. A more difficult question not presented here, is whether state substantive law purporting to govern the eligibly and qualifications of delegates to the national party conventions (as contrasted with the mere establishment of procedures for the selection of delegates) is binding even in the absence of conflict.

These sounds are meant to deter you and other animals from coming closer, especially when they are protecting their young. Provided you heed this warning, an interaction with you or your pet is unlikely. Hi Ned. SO much sympathy for your situation. I, too, am single. the waves of romance washed me over on the shore of singularity but years ago and Im left struggling for the answers. If it will not tear out the stitches in your heart could you share your story? XOXO.
Thank you kindly for this ask, friend. Thank you for this sympathy Jessica did, DOES, not have. Well, it didn’t start that way. I was young and free, only 45 when I met the woman of my dreams. That handsome fella if I do say so myself had the best miracle, or maybe the greatest mistake of my life. I was up in good ole’ Chicag on a business trip, back when I had a job. Back when there was light in my eyes and my mustache was perked. I was alone, like I’m left now, when I saw her. She was with her friends, a group of college kids, but NOT kids. They were adults. They were talking, laughing, company I had never experienced in my life. The second I saw her, I knew she was the one. I never had any experience with the ole’ romance, except two run-ins back down in Oklahoma, but those two ladies ended up being cousins of mine. I was like that one song, a classic kids these days don’t get, “What is love? Baby don’t hurt me. Baby don’t hurt me, no more.” I didn’t know what I was getting m’self into, but with my first glance into her green eyes I knew I wanted it. They all went into a diner, and my heart followed. I ordered a pop as I watched them enjoy themselves. I saw their check come in an’ I ordered myself a To-Go cup. I asked the waitress if she could be so kind ta lend me a paper from her orderin’ sheet. Then I made my move. I waltzed up to their table, sticken with love, and asked, “Howdy there ladies, would y’all mind if I take a seat?” I could hear them snickering, but Jessica spoke up, “Sure thing.” She scooted on over and patted the space next to her. I sat down and she did that female shoulder look. The other women avoided me, trying to make-believe I wasn’t in their company. But Jessica, Jessica payed attention to my presence at that table there. We talked, we laughed, and I knew I wanted ta see that smile for the rest of my days on this here Earth. Our time there came to an end, and I stuck to my plan. In a handshake of departure, I handed the sheet to her, and she smiled as she read the info-mation I had put. Y’see, I’ve never been a man of technology, but I’ve had this trusty Cell Phone since 0′6. So I gave her my Cell Phone number, my “Digits”, as she said. From there she pulled a Sharpie Marker out of her pock-a-book and asked for my hand, an action I would repeat just five months later on. She wrote her Cell Phone number on my skin tanned from the Southern sun. One ‘er way away, she looked back at the charming fellow I was from her gang of women, and waved. I thought a’bout that moment until the moment she contacted me. I had just gotten inside from the drive home in my beloved 1989 Jeep Wrangler when my Cell Phone buzzed like a bumblebee. It was the woman I hadn’t forgotten since I met her up near the ole’ Bean. Her name lit up the screen. I had put her numbers in, but I was too much of a coward to talk ta women at that there time. She sent the first of those Texts that lasted months until I finally asked somethin’ I’d been planning since the first. I had her on a Cell Phone call. I was ready to ask the question when Live Like You Were Dying came on. She gasped and said she loved that song there, that song that was one of my favorites. I knew what I had ta do. I sang along with all my lungs my mama gave me. The song came to a close, and I took the chance I’d never taken in all my years of life. I said to her, “Jessica, I’m no Tim Macgraw, but would you like to live like we were dying, and have dinner with lil’ ole’ me?” I woulda never guessed it in all my years, but she agreed. That Monday, I headed all the way up North in my Jeep Wrangler. It was February Fourteenth. I put my best bow-tie on and met her at the diner where we met just two months ago. She was the most beautiful sight I ever seen up until that day. I pulled her chair out for her like any Gentleman should, and diner started. The memory’s a blur, but I know one event that surely happened that fateful night there. I looked into the gorgeous eyes of a woman, and asked, “What was your last name?” She laughed and my heart sang like the bird on the prairie. “Tao, why?” She answered to me. I continued my conquest as a man, “Have ya ever thought of changin’ it?” She smiled as her eyes seemed puzzled. “No, why, again?” She asked me. I said words what would change my life forever, “The name’s Ned Enma, if you would be so kind, would ya give me the chance ta have you share that name one day?” She was frozen like crops in winter. I, myself, was filled with fear a man should not let overcome him. She looked into my eyes, and said yes. That night I drove her to her home and slept in the parking lot in my Jeep Wrangler. On the night of my birthday. That mornin’, I was awoken to her knocking on my window. Carrying a box full of her things, she told to me, “Let’s go for a ride.” That was the start of a formerly loving relationship. That day she came back down ta ole’ Oak with me, where she stayed up until 328 days ago. When she left me along with the kids, OUR kids. Welp, the next three months were fulla love. I taught her how to be a master tennis player like yours truly. She taught me how to use the Computer ‘m using to writing this up for you now, friend. She showed me all her D-I-Y thinga-ma-housits. I showed her all the good ole’ songs kids don’t get these days, and she showed me all the new Hip things. Not that they were any good. I did like that Nickelback fella, though. We rode golf carts into sunsets, and cuddled as we watched Two And A Half Men. Then came the day my journey as a man would continue. She was outside making another one of her Do-It-Y’rselfs, that time it was a T-Shirt. We planned to go ta dinner that night, she said to wait five minutes and I did in the ‘Wrang. She joined me, as beautiful as a butterfly. But we weren’t goin’ to where she thought that there night. We passed by the joint I had told her in a lie to conceal my hidden plan she asked about it but I said it was a sur-prize. She went from singing along to that radio, to making her D-Eye-Ys out o’ the things around that car, to anger like that there I got later on, to sleeping like a cow standing on a prairie. We got there at 7 in the Am and I thought to my handsome self as I let her snooze. How had a country man like myself ended up with this city woman? She was beautiful and I didn’t want ta do her no wrong. And I DIDN’T. But with all my doubts I still peersevered. We waltzed into the building I had met her in and I ordered a pop. We had a wonderful time like we always USED ta have. She laughed, she smiled like an angel. Now I know she’s a FALLEN angel. Welp, she finished her supper and talked to me before I had the chance to take that dive-in. “What’s this for, Ned?” she asked to me with that smile of hers. That’s when I took that chance. I said ta her, “Howdy there lady, would ya mind if I take a seat?” She laughed at me. I was ready to hear that laugh for what I THOUGHT would be the rest of my days. “Ned, what are you talking about?” She asked those words there. I got up out of my seat there and motioned to her booth. The one she was in all those five months ago. She scooted on over with confusion in ‘er laugh. She smiled ‘til the waitress came. I asked for a page of her ordering sheet. Jessica was too busy with the check to notice what I wrote on down. We held hands an’ exited that diner, and I put another orderin’ sheet into hers. She opened it up with a smile that turned to an “O” shape there, she dropped it and with it went my Southern heart. I was a shattered man for a moment, as I am now. But she pulled me back up along with that Sharpie Pen out of her woman purse. My hand was tattaoed with that word “Yes.” But that wasn’t the end of that. She had somethin’ I really hadn’t planned for. “Hey…I have something to tell you too.” She told ta me. Then she said what only a woman can, “The Tie-Die was a maternity shirt. We’re gonna be parents.” From there was every man’s destiny, I WAS married to a beautiful woman. Her walking down that there aisle was the prettiest sight I ever did see. Now I can’t forget watching her walk away that last time. She VOWED to never leave like she did now. Our first dance was ta Live Like You Were Dying. Now I dance alone to Ms.Terri’s yellin’. I played Your Song by Elton John for her on that piano. We wore our rings she hid from me now. OUR rings that meant FOREVER. Now it’s For-Never. The marriage was as it should be at first. We were young, I was a young fellow. I was the happiest a man can be. But it started to crumble from the beginin’, that there baby was one of our 5.2 miscarrianges. We lost all 5.2 Enma children ‘til we were blessed with Jonathan. He brought us hope that lasted until the others. Kelly and Nicholas were born Enmas. Now she’s trying ta change them. But she can’t take my genes out of ‘em, and the jeans I bought them. I’m their father, they’re OUR kids, and WE loved them at first. We golfed as a family there, we were the best tennis family in Oak, we did Arts N’ Crafts and all that Jessica liked. But a man can’t take care of a baby. She got angry at me for not doing a woman’s job. She called it neglect. She neglected her all natural role, I did what I was SUPPOSED to. But she didn’t a’ppreciate ole’ Ned. She stopped laughing at my jokes. Who doesn’t laugh at “You’re wiping Nicholass.” Said during baby changing. That’s no thinker. She made me cook on nights so she could write her Blog posts, then got angry that I only made BarBeQue. A man can only cook BarBeQue, and I’m a BBC master. The fellas at work knew how things were. The ole’ ball-and-chain as they called it. But they said that’s just how marriage is, eh. It was how marriage WAS. She got bored of takin’ care of the kids, but my playing was too rough on them. Maybe I dropped Jonathan four too many times, but that there’s better than never pickin’ him up at all. She started going away to her friends. But bringing the kiddos in my Man-Cave when she wasn’t home was wrong. Watching them during my beer time was not acceptable, but I had no choice. Beer time is at five and she knows, she KNEW that. I only saw her six days a week, she wanted nothin’ to do with me like she don’t now. I told her to be a mother and she started staying home, but at the expense of our alcalhol cabinet. She drank two glasses of wine in a sitting at the Computer. Y’see, she started making ole’ greens off of her Blogular posts. But it’s a man’s job to work like I did at my nine ta five. It’s not a man’s job to find my kinnin’ watching demonic “My Chemical Romance” singing on her Tablet. OUR romantic chemicals were fading. She said Two And A Half Men wasn’t a show for the children. My wit she met with dis-a-pproval. Using Pool Noodles as doorstops was an in-genious invention if I do say so myself, Jessica didn’ think that. As she went to “Hang” with her woman friends on Saturdays, ole’ Ned invited the fellas from work over for daily beer times. She said we were too loud. She brought the kids inta it, sayin’ we were a ruckus for nap-time. But I had no say in her female Saturdays, so I kept with my men. She said I was too drunken, but the kiddens thought I was funny like she never did anymore. We were gettin’ into fights. How I couldn’t do laundry, how I couldn’t change diapers. Everything all about how I didn’t do what HER job was as a woman. I worked and that was my job. She said I was less than a man than on Two And A Half Men, that I’am less than half a men. And so she went for another man, but he was no man. That sir was a boy. It was at Jonathan’s baseball game I saw ‘em, they were out in that there Parking Lot chatting it up. Jessica was with that girl in Jonathan’s kindargarten’s father, ole’ Tommy was talking to another man’s wife. He was standin’ like some kind of hooligan, arms crossed and leg out like. Just nodding along to Jessica’s words, words that shoulda’ been been said to me, her husband. She smiled like she used ta smile at me, y’know men and women can’t just be friendly. But she said they just were. I started sittin’ out near my mini fridge drinking my ole’ Ales more. Even though she hurt my heart, I still never wanted ta hurt her. She WAS my wife, so I let her make HER mistakes. But she was even angry at me for that. We weren’t yellin’, but all that there was still there. We started watching Two And A Half Men again, but we were quiet on opposite sides of that couch. It was that “Calm after the storm.” Or hurricane down here in the South. I tried bringing my charm back an’ it started to work. She smiled her sweet as sugar smile at me again, that smile faded u’pon the news that I lost my job. Y’see, my work was slacking with our perdicament. I was talking too much to the fellas, then not enough, I had too many beers too many times. Ta be honest with you, friend, some things are my fault. And Jessica knew that though I wish she didn’t. Welpsie daisy, Jessica stopped talking to me. She made more of her Internet Blog posts to make up for the cash I didn’t make. I cooked BarBeQue for all our meals and watched our youngin’s. I failed my duty as a man and ended up in that womanly role I so ran from like herd from a sheepdog. Everyday was the same, “Eat, Sleep, Repeat.” As her ole’ crafty quotes said. She just scoffed instead of yellin’ when saw me drinkin’ again. The kids caught onta how blue everything was, trying to make conversations that used to be all so natural. But that dreariness there just hung on until it all up exploded. She joined that PTA at the school just ta get out of the house. She wrote all a’bout how she hated that there on her Blog posts in secret. Well, some of those gals planned a big ole’ trip up to the NYC for themselves. Jessica didn’ ask about going, she just told and went. She took the Jeep Wrangler all by herself, I wish that was the only time she took it. Y’see, that PTA group wasn’t all women as I believed it to all obviously be. That Tommy from that one run-in was one of those lucky few, I didn’t know it ‘til she came back home to ole’ Oklahoma. She was smiling as she pulled her bags back to us, somethin’ I had’nt seen for months. That dinner she cooked, she laughed as she told us all about her stories from her adventure up North at the table. The kiddos laughed as we were talking again. It felt like all back at the start of our bein’ husband and wife. Little did I know that there was the end of it. She pulled out her Cell Phone to show the pictures she captured with that Camera Phone. She showed us all the sights she saw, giant elec-tronical billboards, some Northern cowboy singin’ in his underpants, toys she bought for the kids. Then there was that last picture of that whole group. One thing stood out from all the smiles and good times, a man whose face I so do remembered. That night was a blur, all I know from that there is the children went to sleep. We sat down to watch Two And A Half Men once a’gain. And we fought. It was more ruthless than I ever did see. I don’ know what happened in the in-betweens, but I remember one moment ever so vividly. She shook the kids awake, grabbed Kelly and Nicholas. She dragged Jonathan’s hand along as she lead them out that door that from then on WAS ours. She came back to get arm-fulls of her stuff when she said her last words ta me. I was standing in the kitchen, shell-shocked at what had happened then there. Before her last time out that door, she turned to me, her warm chestnut hair was all disheveled and all that. She was standin’ all determined, but al’so all defeated-like. She said to me, “Never talk to me again, Ned Enma.” She said, “If you really think women and men can’t just be friends, then goodbye, Stranger.” I stood out in that cold 40s Winter air as I watched that 1989 Jeep Wrangler pull out of the driveway I then owned in my lonesome. I haven’ been the same since that there night. I’ve only heard from her in the divorce papers. The ‘Wrangler was dropped off with no sign of nobody. I had ta put it all behind me and move into this apartment, once again hearing women screams. I only watch Two And A Half Men with my beers now. I missed Jonathan’s birthday, I would be cryin’ if a man could. There’s as much hope as for a tree in a hurricane, but I’m still tryin’. I write to her everyday, I write to THEM everyday. I call ‘em just to ask how they’re doing to an empty robotic voice sayin’ something about a beep. I hope you luck on your travels, friend. For me, I’m just hanging on until something happens. An’ for that ta happen, Jessica, please respond.

Our animation choice for today was Paprika! The movie is all about the absurdity of dreams and the blurred overlap between reality and dreams. The animation plays with the same ideas by showing all kinds of transitions and effects as characters move between them.

Our animation choice for the week was for Carole & Tuesday. Despite having so many characters and settings all over, the series feels so natural (and nice to look at).

Our animation choice this week was Way of the Househusband. It has a unique animation style (which some have likened to a motion comic) and direction that go hand in hand together. We think it's a delight to watch and the gags are great.

Our animation pick for this week goes out to an oldie - FLCL (aka Fooly Cooly)! We haven't had a chance to see the newer installments but the original episodes had some wild animation styles on their own. Have you seen this series?
