Hey everyone. There is no easy way to say this after a lot of thinking and deliberation I’ve decided to shut down Monster Office.  I know I made promises that I didnt keep and honestly its because I didnt want to disappoint anyone but I also really didnt feel like continuing.  There are a few different reasons. The first being that I started monster office way back when I was in school and I just had a lot more time to focus on it. However even then I definitely bit off more than I could ever chew.

 Secondly this project just isnt what I wanted it to be. Im so happy many folks could make friends and share art and interact. However, time and time again whenever I tried to steer this in a certain direction things just always took a wonky turn somewhere. Lighthearted events and prompts would turn into serious dark situations and I honestly just could never keep up with what was going on. Especially the things I heard happening in the discord server were unsettling to say the least.

Thirdly, I’ve just kind of outgrown this. Monster Office was a way for me to explore my concept of dreamons and I think I’ve reached the point where I have learned all I can about them from this project and its just time for them to become part of my main original works. 

I held off on this because I didnt want to take away a community for you guys but I also dont think I have to do that. In a way you all have been the one to make the community and I feel like me pulling my ideas away from it wouldnt necessarily ruin things. After all at its core, Monster Office is just an office environment for monsters. And it can stay that way. There just wont be Dreamons, Mimics, REM, or Kaleidope tied to it. That doesnt mean that you all have to stop interacting with one another. Again you all made the community what it was and Im glad I could bring people together to make friends and I hope you all continue to make friends and have fun with characters and roleplaying with one another. If you are interested in keeping up with my works and asking my characters questions I have a worldbuilding blog @merriway where I talk about my original works and characters. I really appreciate everyone’s interest and time in this and Im sorry it didnt get further. Life really does pull us in all sorts of directions but while this project may be ending there will be many more things for all of us in the future, so please keep creating and being awesome.

“Well. This is all so sudden is it not? Your wedding is tomorrow, such a last moment event you have pulled just now.” The demon rose a brow, setting his hand back down upon the table. “Terrible timing.” Cade added, leaning back in his seat.

Dahl chuckled to his friend, shaking his head. “Sorry to ask you so late, I’ve been helping Dasiä and Jamison with the preparations- well- as much as I could. Dasiä seems to have everything under the ropes, she’s barely asked for any help at all, aside from a few color suggestions.” He breathed a sigh, smiling. “She’s so doting...”

Cade brushed his tendrils back, they wove in the air gently. “It seems to me she gave you the role of selecting your solemniser.”

“Yeah, that’s just about right. I figured you’d be perfect for the job, I trust you the most out of everyone else I know, and I thought you would have wanted an up close view of it. You love weddings, don’t you? That’s why you became a solemniser in the first place.” The Fiaclan claimed, eyeing his close friend for a good minute. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to, I can always ask some old human priest to do it-”

Dahl was cut off by a dull hiss, and he grinned. “No no, I can do it, I will do it.” Cade remarked, rolling his shoulders. “Besides, I would be able to chat with your mates, get to know them a little more. It’s been quite some time since your... wife’s passing, so I am happy for you to have them.”

“No funny demon business, Cade.” Candypants winked, earning a blank, expressionless look from his friend.

((Now that this whole MO reboot thing is happening, it would probably be a good idea for me to figure out what I’m gonna do with Mothimor as well. And I’ve decided to keep them up and running.  That being said, I’m not gonna reboot them. I wanna keep what they have experienced so far and move forward. Which brings me to my next topic: If your character is on Mothimor’s relationship page and you are planning on rebooting them and would like to delete any and all relation with Mothimor for a possible fresh start, please reply to this post or like it or shoot me an IM. So we can do some spring cleaning and get this good ol’ place dusted off :D ))

Hello! I was reading up on your monster office stuff and I noticed one of the descriptions was that lesser dreamons handle extra stuff around the departments. I was wondering is fair a lesser dreamon? And if there are any lesser dreamons we don't know about that you've made! :D

There are many different types of lesser dreamon! Lets start with some dreamons that are more or less like animals amongst the dreamons.

Sleyems and Meyems.

Meyems are dreamons who try to blend into an environment by mimicking objects in the vicinity. Theyre slight pranksters but not malicious. In fact with lots of contact and kindness they can become friendly and helpful. 

Sleyems are very low tier dreamons that pretty much only think about eating. These critters are more or less scavengers and not good with confrontation so they tend to stay in places like vents and drains until everyone is gone where they will then come out looking for something to snack on. Theyre not malicious but they do spook easily. Their slime has a thicker film on the outside so that folks can touch and pick them up but be careful not to press too hard. The goopier slime under the film is highly acidic. 

They can also fuse to form bigger sleyems like this:

Next are some more sentient dreamons, Handsels and Greyettels.

These two dreamon types always work in a pair. Handsels do well with handywork but tend to be clumsy so Greyettels tag along to monitor their work to make sure it is done properly. You’ll see pairs of them mainly helping the Red Dept. They may accompany other employees to help them make a task go faster if its a big job. They are all referred to as handsels and greyettels, its rare that they have names other than those.

Next to answer your question about Fairy, they are a lesser Dreamon. They are known as the Dreamon of Sweet Dreams but they dont fall into the category of Hueminns which includes oranhamme and his kin. Fairy is the only dreamon of their kind and there are other dreamons that are also unique like Baruti.

These kinds of dreamons basically have more specific purposes and special abilities to aid them in carrying out their designated task. For example. Baruti is a chief dreamon under Violson and has great powers of clairvoyance and more. Fairy as the dreamon of sweet dreams has powers that help folks have well…sweet dreams.

You wont see a lot of these dreamons around the office though. So far Fairy is the only one that works in Rem. You will see sleyems, meyems, and handsels and greyettels though!

Its Halloweeeeeeeeeen!! We interrupt this rampage to bring you another year of Tom’s Nonsense! This time it looks like he brought friends too so there are going to be quite a few pumpkins around the office! They all have different sorts of powers and personalities so you never know what you’re in for. Tom will still be going around the office and Halloweenifying everything but who knows what the others will do!

Because of the added help Tom isn’t going to go away after Halloween but is gonna be lurking around for most of November too!!
