In this two-part show, we pay tribute to the recently lost pioneering composer and synth master of electronic music, Klaus Schulze.
The electronic music pioneer Klaus Schulze In this two-part show, we pay tribute to the recently lost pioneering composer and synth master, Klaus Schulze. Memorable for his expansive, spacey compositions and his astounding discography, spanning over 60 albums, we listen to some of his own (shorter) tracks, plus some of his work with Tangerine Dream and Ashra Temple, alongside collaborations with…

Filtered noise, percussive noise.
Found a strange artefact where sequencing telharmonic causes ping-like clicks - I mixed this in with additional triggers through erbe-verb to make the strange breathing sound. Noisy percussion underlies the patch. The one thing I'd change is to axe the P-out through sinc bucina, since this piece is best completely atonal in my opinion - and also, I think I've just overused the ratcheted-LPG sound, at least for a while.

Today we have another DM related release but new one from Vince Clarke. His first solo album Songs of Silence is out!
For recording this ambient album Vince used a Eurorack modular synthesizer system.
Clarke celebrates this release with his debut solo show tonight at the LSESU in London, with Sunroof (comprising Daniel Miller and Gareth Jones) as the opening act. Additionally, a Q&A session featuring Daniel Miller is scheduled at Rough Trade East on Sunday, November 19th. Side Line News

Harsh hard sync and AM sounds.
Doing Waver better justice than in the last case with it here, using two oscillators to just push each other around with all sorts of cross patching. Cold mac takes a few CV sources in to act as a drifting macro controller. Now that I've started to patch it as such, I've started to identify a performance style I fall into, responding to said drift. The faders on Waver and Ikarie really lean into this - of course while any knob can be wiggled, some modes are more conducive to this than others.
Again on the performance side, I continue to use mutes on the Acid Rains to create breakdowns and builds. When I feel like more formally structuring a song, I need to create distinct A/B sections that I can switch around rather than fully cutting something out. Hopefully the next firmware update (allegedly in the works from the modwiggler thread) will include the multi-mute-dropping I've seen a handful of users suggest. Even without it though, banger modules.
