You don't need to do well (GWSN Miya x Reader)
Comfort fic, your established girlfriend Miya looks after you while you are sick. Extreme fluff and adorableness you have been warned (title comes from lyrics to GWSN's 'Lullaby').
Pairing: GWSN Miya x Female/NB Reader Word count: 1575 Requested!
A/N: My first request! I'm truly honoured thank you T_T Anon was okay with either Miya or reader being sick, so I chose reader, but if anyone would like one the other way round feel free to let me know! It also did not specify romance but I made it so, I hope that's okay too! Once again thank you for requesting, and I hope you enjoy this~

It was one of those mornings where the second you woke up, you knew you weren’t going anywhere. The first thing that registered was a blinding pain in your stomach; one that you couldn’t quite pin point the feeling or the cause, you just knew it hurt so badly you had no appetite. You tried to sit up, only for a strong feeling of nausea to wash over you, and you immediately led back down. You felt like if you moved too sharply, you were going to throw up.
The next thing you noticed was that the other side of the bed was empty. You knew Miya liked to sleep in, especially on the weekend when she had nowhere to go. How late in the day was it?
Your bedroom door clicked open, and you saw your girlfriend enter the room. She was fully dressed; only her typical lounge clothes, tracksuit bottoms and a white t-shirt, and her hair was brushed and neatened out. You weren’t sure how long she’d been up, but it must have been at least half an hour.
“Are you still in bed? I know it’s Saturday, but you can’t sleep all day.” Miya spoke with a smile. She sometimes liked to tease you about being lazy, as if you weren’t the one dragging her out of bed most mornings. You simply pulled the covers over your face.
You heard light footsteps approach you, and felt a hand pull down the sheets covering your face. Miya was crouched down to be level with you, and her face had softened, “are you sick?”
You gave a weak nod in response, then braved speaking, “my stomach hurts so bad, and I feel like I could throw up.”
“Here,” Miya stood, and gestured for you to lift your head up. She gently pressed the back of her hand against your forehead for a few moments, before crouching back down, “you a have a bit of a fever. It’s probably just a stomach bug. Do you think you could eat anything?”
The thought of food made you feel nauseous again. You shook your head at her, and you noticed Miya giving you a pout.
“What’s with that face?” You asked her, smiling in amusement.
“I don’t like it when you’re sick,” Miya answered softly, placing her hand on top of yours and grazing your knuckle, “it makes me sad seeing you unwell.”
Your heart sank as she spoke, so you squeezed her hand in reassurance, giving her a smile, “I’ll be fine, just need to get rid of this bug.”
Miya nodded, using her free hand to stroke your hair, “yes, you do. Since you can’t eat anything yet, I think you should go back to sleep and get plenty of rest. I’ll be quiet in the other room so you can have peace.”
“Yeah, that sounds like a good idea,” you nodded, “thank you.”
“I’ll get you a glass of water, and…” she trailed off, standing up and walking out of view to the other side of the room. You didn’t turn to look for fear of feeling sick again. She came back seconds later holding one of her favourite cat toys, a childish grin on her face, “you can have this to cuddle. He’s really soft, so he should make you feel cosier.” Miya admired the soft toy, feeling the surface of it before passing it to you.
Her gesture made you laugh slightly; she always managed to be adorable and cheer you up when you felt your worst. You held the cat close to you and smiled, “thank you.”
Miya stood up again, leaning down and planting a kiss on your cheek as she whispered, “I’ll get your glass of water.”
——————————————————————————
You hadn’t drank a drop of water Miya had brought to you. As soon as she left the room, you had closed your eyes and drifted off to sleep under the comfort of her cuddly cat. Now, waking up again, you noticed the room was dark, and the sun was almost completely set outside. There was a small beam of light coming through your bedroom door; Miya had left it open a crack possibly so she could check on you easier.
Sitting up, you took a sip of water. The water had gone tepid being on your bedside all afternoon, but you didn’t care. You noticed the pain in your stomach had lessened, but it still twinged slightly. You began to feel dizzy sitting up, so promptly led back down with a sigh of frustration.
The beam of light widened as your bedroom door was opened. Miya once again entered the room, this time holding things you couldn’t quite make out by her backlit silhouette. She approached your bedside, setting down the items on the table and turning the lamp on next to you. As your eyes took a moment to adjust to the dim light, you noticed that she had brought you a sandwich and another glass of water; this one had something fizzing in it.
She crouched down to face level with you again, “how are you feeling?” Her voice held a tone of sincerity and concern, her eyes trying to study your condition.
“A bit better. My stomach doesn’t hurt as much, but I still feel nauseous.” You answered honestly.
Miya’s hand began stroking your hair again, as she spoke softly, “well, I’m glad you rested a lot, It’s about half past nine now. I checked in on you a few times, and every time you were fast asleep. I saw you wake up just before, so brought you something to eat if you think you could stomach it.” She picked up the plate and motioned the sandwich towards you. You still felt sick, but you were so hungry it didn’t bother you anymore.
“Yeah, I think I could eat something.” You said, nodding as you began to sit up. Miya stood up and took one of the pillows from her side of the bed and propped it behind you, giving you something to rest the back of your head on. She then passed you the plate, and you took the sandwich, hesitating before taking a small bite.
“Is that okay?” Miya asked, wanting assurance from you. Nodding again, you gave her a quick “thank you” between bites as you began to eat the sandwich faster.
Once again, you felt Miya’s hand press against your forehead, “your fever has gone down. I must admit you look a lot brighter now than you did this morning.”
“I definitely don’t feel as weak anymore, everything’s got milder but I can still feel it.” You explained, finishing the sandwich in a short time. After the first bite, your appetite came back completely, so you ended up practically inhaling it.
“Well I brought you this too,” Miya picked up the glass she had brought in; the fizzing had stopped from when she first entered the room. She swilled the liquid round the glass, “it’s just a little something I picked up from the chemist, supposed to help with stomach bugs. You don’t have to take it if you don’t want to, but it’s there if you do.”
You promptly took the glass out of Miya’s hand, stating, “I’ll take anything. Down in one?” Miya nodded, and you knocked the glass of medicine back and set the glass on the bedside table. It tried to mimic some sort of orange flavour, but was very weak and unpleasant tasting. As long as it did its job, you didn’t care how it tasted.
Miya’s eyes went sympathetic on you again, “is there anything else you need?”
Thinking for a moment, you looked up at her with a pout, “I think I could do with some girlfriend cuddles.”
A smile broke on her face, “that is not a problem.” You cracked a smile too as she hopped round to the other side of the bed. You moved the pillow back to her side and led down, Miya slowly climbing on the bed and lying next to you. She placed her arm gently round your top half, being mindful not to press on your stomach, and pulled your head into her shoulder.
“Thank you for looking after me today.” You spoke contently.
Miya smiled, her eyes closed in relaxation, “of course, anything to make you feel better.”
“And thank you for this little friend,” smiling, you picked up the cat toy you had been sleeping with, plonking it between the two of you. Miya opened her eyes, catching sight of the cat before letting out a tiny amused laugh, “helped me sleep all afternoon. He can be our sick bay cat.”
“I like that!” Miya exclaimed, stroking the head of the cat toy. Her eyes then turned towards you, asking, “should we both get some sleep for the night?”
You cuddled into her more, telling her, “in a bit. I’m quite comfy at the moment.”
Miya gave you a soft look, “okay, we’ll stay here a bit longer.” She pulled you closer into her, leaving a long kiss on the top of your head. You felt so relaxed in her arms, you barely even felt sick anymore. It made you feel so genuinely thankful that she cared so much about you, and that she would take care of you like this.
If this was how she treated you, you thought you should be sick more often.
