🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction?
The 2007 WGA strike happened and I was really sad my shows went on hiatus (but always very pro-strike!), so I decided to write fanfic to fill the void in my life. My first ever fanfic was born. It was a 20k Bones fic focusing on Angela/Temperence and it was the horniest, raunchiest, shit I have ever written. (I was like 19 and SO fucking horny and gay). I posted it on LiveJournal and that's how it all began.
🐇 ⇢ do you prefer writing original characters, reader inserts, or a mix of both?
I have only really fleshed out ONE OC lol. Usually I just have throw away randoms in the background of fics, but I created Ruby Sandoval in FAAFIL 3 and I just adore her so much I kind wrote her a backstory and stuff.
Never written reader insert (although I genuinely almost posted one last week). So not sure I have a preference either way in terms of writing, but for reading -- I've actually started reading more and more /reader fics lately. (Mostly bc @storiesofsvu writes the best shit ever 🥵)

Hotch was horrible to the women of the team. Reid is so fucking boring and basic and y'all need to love yourself more bc you all can do better than stanning the most generic fucking lanky white dude.

I'm one of those chronically online people who speaks in 90% meme references. I think my most used are anything Miette related because our cat is such a weird little snob.

I'm a side sleeper, mostly facing outwards. But sometimes, I wind up on my back and when I do I snore so loud Doom Them has to wake me up.

I have SO many. I listen to a wild range of music. Everything from ska to indie rock to punk to emo to pop. Some of my all-time fave bands include: The Killers, Foreigner, Avett Brothers, Postal Service, Betty Who, Beyonce, Lizzo, Tegan and Sara.

I have around 35 tattoos (hard to count when you have half sleeves and such). I DO want more tattoos, but in the past two years one of my chronic conditions has made it so I'm allergic to my tattoos. They get welts and hives all the time. Which really sucks because uhhhh, my entire body is covered in them 🤷♂️

I sent Frankie some smut as a little treat!
20. What/who do you miss?
I miss all my loves in the US. But in terms of 'what' -- the thing I miss everyday is being able to leave my house without it having to be an entire Event. I miss life before the pandemic where I didn't have to take 100 pre-emptive steps to protect myself every time I go out. I miss 2020 when everyone (in my country) was in this together, when everyone was masking and staying home when they were sick, when everything was accessible by being online. I miss when people cared.
The pandemic isn't over. Some of us have never left lockdown.
22. How much sleep did you get last night?
I actually went to sleep hella early. I was asleep before my daily kudos email (this is how I tell time, okay?) which comes about 00:20. Then, I got up early with Doom Them -- so I think I got about 7 hours? I only need 5-6 to be functional.
24. When was the last time you cried? Why?
Last night I cried from laughing so hard at this picture of our cat
26. What are some seemingly childish things you like?
I don't believe joy has an age limit. I'm a regular at our local toy stores, I know all the staff, I'm always buying new fidget toys and Squishmallows. I got into Squishmallows about the same time I got my Autism dx (mid-2020) and since then, Squish have become a constant form of comfort for us. We currently have about 300 in our collection -- and that's after some major downsizing. There's no way to know how many squish we've rotated through over the years. Here's the last full squad photo we took in Jan 2022 (there's nowhere in our house to do a full pic of the 300 we have currently)
28. How are you, really?
I'm actually doing well this week. Summer weather arrived without warning and my depression is lifting. I feel really inspired for the first time in weeks!

If I could see my US friends without actually having to go to the US itself, that would be perfect.

Not really. My middle name is the name of some random ski instructor my parents met the year before I was born (I have theories about this, about why my dad randomly remembered this person's name -- but that's a whole other thing. Oh, and also that's one of my middle names, it's complicated. I have like 5 names)

Ornithophobia (fear of birds). Also scared of horses, cows, and airbags.
40. Do you like the beach? Do you prefer it sunny or cloudy?
YES!! I love living ten minutes from the beach. We go there a lot to relax and scream at the ocean. I prefer sunny weather, hands down, but it's cloudy 90% of the time here.

Cranky Cave(tm)! Cranky cave is when I'm having meltdowns. I go to my room and turn on the fairy lights and galaxy projector. Grab a ton of squish and fidgets. Bury myself in blankets. And watch my comfort shows.

I have been rendered completely useless, I have plenty to do, stuff to write, chores to complete -- but Mist, my cat, is asleep IN MY LAP.
This may not seem special to other people, cats tend to do this. But Mist is NOT a lap cat. It took three years for me to finally train him to lay in my lap on the bed, or to lie of Doom Them's chest when they lay on the couch. But he DOES NOT sit on laps if we're sitting in a chair.
I write from a desk, with an office chair, and lately he kept bursting in the room and pawing my thighs for pats. So I threw a blanket on my lap and lifted him on to it. This has been a slow process over the past month, but today -- he's just....asleep. In. My. Lap.
I feel like I'm witnessing a miracle. And I cannot possibly move him, because this is so special. So instead of doing all the things, I'm just petting him and scrolling tumblr unproductively.

I’m so sorry to hear you’re not doing well :( I’m here to help with distractions! My wife and I just got a new kitten, Tuesday Brunch, a few months ago. She’s a loud little squeaky toy and a total menace who loves to eat things she’s not allowed to. She deeply loves our other cat Ladybird, who is an aloof and bossy retired ragdoll breeder mama, and Lady is not sure why she has to deal with a kitten when she’s an old woman now. They’re just now comfortable enough with each other that they can be trusted alone together. Today they had a nice snack of canned tuna juice from the same dish (that’s a win!!). Obligatory cat pics:

Okay, first of all: I have been following Tuesday Brunch news with GREAT excitement (I was showing my partner Tuesday Brunch the other day!!!) so this is VERY appreciated content
I adore them both very much and I'm a big fan! Such sweet angels. Tuesday sounds a lot like our son, Mist. He's all black and just turned 7 this year! He's uhhhh a demon.
Over the past few years, I have trained him to be a lapcat (no one EVER thought I could do this bc he used to be VERY aggressive and violent and would attack people with tooth and claw)
He still likes to bite people sometimes (usually if I'm not giving him attention, he sneaks up and nips the back of my leg but it doesn't draw blood. It's smol and just a nip now...so that's HUGE)
He just came into my room and flopped over in my lap. He's BABY!!

Heck yeah!! Having people to yell about hyperfixations with is such a joy and delight.
Today's already been stressful, not because anything bad has happened just because of crippling anxiety. And it's a huge pain flare day and very very hot, so it's hard for all my chronic illnesses. But I brought the iPad to family lunch (where I am now), so I can go watch a comfort movie and hide in a bit if I want to.
If I can survive today we'll have one more. Christmas catch-up probably next week, then relaxation times 🤞 (I just want to be able to write Jara fic!!!! But no time lately)

My perpetual quoting of memes in daily conversation, has left me using random combos of different memes at once, or sometimes, my brain just sort of creates a new meme by mistake.
Which is how this happened.
Last night my cat clambered loudly into the windowsill at 2am and I looked over to him and replied, "Ma'am this is a Denny's, people are sleeping!"

I dropped off my kitties with family so I can go on vacation. I always feel awful leaving my kitties behind but they'd hate vacation more 😞
