📸 ATP official website
The margin between both players appeared to be thin, but Berankis/I. Marchenko visibly tried to raise their game based on their point construction in the second set. This might have been one of the reasons behind their 9 break points as they also forced several deciding points, but it was J. Lee/M. Song who optimized their chances and converted 43% of their break points as they handled the pace slightly better than Berankis/I. Marchenko as they stay composed in building their points, some ended up being exceptional like the second-set lob.
In addition, J. Lee/M. Song had firmer service games than Berankis/Marchenko. Scoring twice more aces than the latter, the former pair had an exceptional first serve winning percentage at 78%, 11% more than the latter to get out of most troubles midway. They also had the slight edge on their second serves by 3%, winning 60% of their second serve points compared to Berankis/I. Marchenko's 57%, which faded due to their 3 double faults earlier in the match.
In tomorrow's finals, J. Lee/M. Song will face their fellow wild card recipient Jie Cui/Duckhee Lee, who advanced due to Yunseong Chung/Yu-Hsiou (Timmy) Hsu's walkover upon the conclusion of the latter's singles quarterfinal match. This could be an entertaining match between both pairs, with pacing and point construction being tested as this match progressed. Should be an exciting match to close the doubles sector!

There are some things that get results with a short amount of time, and other things where you risk the losses and stay in it for the long run. It’s difficult to decide how good or bad something is just by how long it takes.
J. Lee/M. Song continued their fine form from the first set to began the second set, where their successful lob opened the gate to their one-point lead before a forehand misfire from Marchenko and a double fault generated the South Korean wild cards' early break to 1-0. After consolidating their lead to 2-0, Berankis/I. Marchenko put their names on the board by holding their serves to 2-1, but they faced another trouble in the next two games as I. Marchenko's failed volley created J. Lee/M. Song's break point before its conversion to 4-1.
Nonetheless, Berankis/I. Marchenko kept the margins close by breaking back thanks to Berankis' anticipative returns to J. Lee/M. Song's failed volley (4-2), followed by a service game hold to 4-3. Three consecutive games later, J. Lee/M. Song earned the opportunity to serve for the match, where they smashed their way to close the exciting point for their one-point lead before they eventually served it out to also take the second set 6-4, thus securing their spot in tomorrow's finals.
