Assalamualaikum,

I really want to begin listening to scholars and sheiks speaking, advising, explaining and storytelling etc... But i have grown quite skeptical about most of the sheiks on tv and radio and youtube due to many having political and mazhab-ical(?) Intentions and undertones with their own ideologies effecting their words outside of what was mentioned in the Quran and Sunnah.. so I've sadly grown quite distant from most of the stories and wisdoms mentioned in the seerah

My question is, can you recommend me someone who you think is 100% truthful in his word if it's a youtube channel or podcast or even books?

Also sorry if this was all over the place i really don't know a better way to word my thoughts

Wa alaykum as salam dear sister,

These options were recently shared by brother Hassam, which I found to be very helpful.

I have attached series on the seerah and the journey of the soul (i.e. death) in my Linktree. I'll add it again here for your convenience. If you guys are interested in more, I can update it regularly with more fascinating things I come across? I really enjoy listening to Sheikh Bilal Assad these days.

I also recommend going to your local mosque or seeing if they shifted to an online mode of teaching. If you feel your masjid is also the way you described, you may find others online that you identify more with. Mine livestreams halaqas and khutbahs for example, and I'm sure many others do as well.

If you'd like a book version of the seerah, I am currently reading the Sealed Nectar and it's absolutely amazing. Here is the newest edition. And here is the older edition, which is more affordable if the new one is out of your budget right now.

My teachers have also recommended the 40 Hadiths from Imam Nawawi and Minhaj ul-Muslim. They're on my TBR as well and heard they're absolute must-reads.

Books might be a better bet for knowledge if you don't want to hear anything political. At the end of the day, the people producing this content are humans and may share their opinions on non-Islamic issues such as politics, etc. from time to time.

A sister also recently recommended this brother's Facebook page. He refutes a lot of misconceptions about Islam and it seems to be full of beneficial content, although I haven't had the chance to extensively go through it yet.

Sayyidi Younus AlGohar explains why it is nearly impossible in this day and age to recognise Imam Mehdi in light of the Prophetic Traditions. He reveals the role of God’s signs. ( http://tiny.cc/kne3az )

Summary:

- There is a huge question mark about the authenticity of Prophetic Traditions. There are over 73 sects in Islam and each carries its own set of Prophetic Traditions. The public doesn't know which Prophetic Traditions have been removed and which have been published in the books compiled by the religious scholars.

- Some Wahhabis do not believe in the concept of Imam Mehdi; they say that there is no mention of Him in the Prophetic Traditions. They rather state that there would be an end-times caliph. Other religious scholars are convinced of Imam Mehdi’s advent and they cite various Prophetic Traditions when talking about Imam Mehdi. The Sunnis and Barelvis have a concept of Imam Mehdi but they do not emphasise it. The concept of Imam Mehdi is very important in Shiism.

- The common factor in all of these sects is that not a single one of them has access to spiritual knowledge. There were some people among the Sunnis who accepted spiritual knowledge, however, the campaign run by Tahir ul Qadri and his organisation, Minhaj ul Quran, destroyed their faith.

- In the beginning, Tahir ul Qadri spoke about spirituality, Faqr (Spiritual Poverty), Dhikr (invocation) and Dhikr-e-Qalb (The Opening of the Spiritual Heart). But people started to ask him to help them become saints of God. He did not have sainthood, so in order to save face, he started to project a definition of sainthood which was confined to exoteric knowledge, outer worship and Sharia. He destroyed the philosophy of how one becomes a true disciple of Ghous Pak (Abdul Qadir Jilani). He a severe blasphemer of Ghous Pak and Imam Mehdi. He misguided people when he saw that His Divine Eminence Imam Mehdi Gohar Shahi's fame was spreading.

- In jealousy and fear, he made up dreams and told people them. He claimed that Imam Mehdi's advent would take place after 800 years. Then when he did not manage to turn people against HDE Gohar Shahi, he claimed that he had a dream in which he saw Imam Mehdi before him and he saw Jesus descend from the sky. And in his dream, Imam Mehdi told him that all the current and future members of his organisation would be included among the followers of Imam Mehdi. If people living 800 years before Imam Mehdi's advent could become followers of Imam Mehdi, then people living 1000 years before His advent can also be Imam Mehdi's followers. Then why did Moula Ali said he would have spent his entire life in Imam Mehdi’s servitude if he was born in Imam Mehdi’s era?

- Imam Jafar Sadiq was very strict in regards to the authenticity of Prophetic Traditions. He said, ‘Check to see if the Prophetic Tradition that contradicts the Koran; if it does, throw it against the wall because it cannot be a saying of Prophet Mohammad.’ There are so many Prophetic Traditions; you will never be able to recognise Imam Mehdi in light of these Prophetic Traditions. How would you recognise Imam Mehdi when you haven’t been able to become Devout Believers in light of the Koran and Prophetic Traditions?

- HDE Gohar Shahi said, ‘When the Prophetic Traditions became subject to adulteration and it becomes almost impossible for the world to recognise the truth in light of the Prophetic Traditions then God manifested his signs [so they could recognise the truth].' Then HDE Imam Mehdi Gohar Shahi said that when a sign from God is freshly manifested, then it has upper hand over the Koran and Prophetic Traditions in the similitude of Martial Law. The signs manifested by God are free from human interference and are beyond their access. The images of HDE Gohar Shahi on the Moon, Sun and Mars have been manifested by God; HDE Gohar Shahi did not manifest them. They are God’s Miracles and God’s Miracles are eternal.

🔰 تحریک منہاج القرآن کا تصور دین

دنیا میں جتنے بھی نظام ہاے زندگی رائج ہیں اُن میں سے کوئی بھی دین نہیں کیونکہ دین فقط اُسی نظام کو کہا جاسکتا ہے جو ہر اِعتبار سے کامل و مکمل اور اَکمل ہو۔ جس میں اِنسانی زندگی کے ہر شعبے سے متعلق ضروریات کی کفالت موجود ہو اور جو انسانی زندگی کی اِنفرادی سطح سے لے کر بین الاقوامی سطح کے ہر گوشے اور پہلو پر قابلِ عمل راہ نمائی مہیا کرے۔ نیز یہ نظام جامع و ہمہ گیر ہو اور ہر نقص و عیب سے پاک ہو۔ اللہ رب العزت نے رِسالتِ محمدی ﷺ کی وساطت سے ایسا ہی دین انسانیت کے لیے اتارا اور اسے اسلام کہہ کر پکارا: اِنَّ الدِّیۡنَ عِنۡدَ اللّٰہِ الۡاِسۡلَامُ (بے شک دین اللہ کے نزدیک اسلام ہی ہے)۔ (آل عمران، 3 : 19)

یہ ایک المیہ ہے کہ گزشتہ ایک دو صدیوں میں دینِ اِسلام کا حقیقی تصور مسخ کرنے کے لیے اِس پر ہر جہت سے مختلف النوع حملے کیے گئے ہیں۔ یوں دین کی متعدد تعبیرات اور توجیہات کو جنم دے کر صحیح اسلامی فکر و نظریے پر اِبہام کے پردے ڈال دیے گئے۔ نتیجتاً دین کا صحیح مفہوم اور اس کی حکمت کا شعور بھی باقی نہیں رہا۔ اندریں حالات شیخ الاسلام ڈاکٹر محمد طاہرالقادری مدظلہ العالی نے تجدید و احیاء دین، ترویج و اشاعت اسلام اور اصلاحِ احوال امت کی ضرورت کو محسوس کیا اور امت کی فکری و نظری، اخلاقی و روحانی اور تحریکی و تنظیمی تربیت کا بیڑا اٹھاتے ہوئے تحریک منہاج القرآن کی بنیاد رکھی۔ اِس کا مقصد دینِ اِسلام کی جدید سائنسی، علمی و عملی اور روحانی presentation کے ذریعے دین اسلام کا حقیقی پیغام لوگوں تک پہنچانا ہے اور انہیں دین اسلام کی امن و سلامتی پر مبنی آفاقی تعلیمات سے رُوشناس کرانا ہے۔

Rana Sanaullah Khan

Rana Sanaullah Khan is a Pakistani politician and former Law Minister of Punjab. He is a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018. He was born on 1 January 1950 in Faisalabad and is a cousin of former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry.

Political career

He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as a candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in 1990 Pakistani general election. He was re-elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) (PML-N) in 1997 Pakistani general election. He was re-elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from PP-70 (Faisalabad-XX) as a candidate of (PML-N) in 2002 Pakistani general election. In 2003, he was abducted by alleged intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and was badly tortured for speaking against military regime. When freed, he was subsequently shifted to DHQ hospital. He was re-elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from PP-70 (Faisalabad-XX) as a candidate of (PML-N) in 2008 Pakistani general election. He was re-elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from PP-70 (Faisalabad-XX) as a candidate of (PML-N) in 2013 Pakistani general election. He was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan from NA-106 (Faisalabad-VI) as a candidate of (PML-N) in 2018 Pakistani general election.

Controversies

In August 2011, he accused American Warren Weinstein of being an American spy although Weinstein had lived in Pakistan for seven years and there was no evidence that he was a spy. Weinstein went missing a week later and was accidentally killed in a January 2015 US drone strike on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, as announced by U.S. President Barack Obama at a White House press conference on April 23, 2015.

Model Town incident

On 17 June 2014, Punjab Police raided the Minhaj-ul-Quran International's lahore secretariat on the pretext of removing security barriers from its surroundings. Tahir-ul-Qadri's followers, who were preparing for his arrival from Canada to launch an anti-government movement on 23 June 2014, protested and deadly skirmishes started. A dozen of Tahir-ul-Qadri's devotees were killed including three women and around hundred got seriously wounded from bullet shots. Rana Sanaullah, who is considered only second to the Chief Minister, remained adamant that the police action was justified which added to the public fury. In the wake of public reaction and opposition's criticism, Shahbaz Sharif sacked Rana Sanaullah Khan as law minister, and Punjab's top bureaucrat. However, Qadri and other opposition leaders including Imran Khan held Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab, responsible for the civilian deaths at the hands of police and demanded his resignation.

FIR of Model Town tragedy was registered against key figures of the present government including the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister and Rana Sanaullah Khan. He is often referred to as the main man and often termed as Murderer is various cases including Model Town incident and Bhola Gujjar Murder. The real hero was Syed Mustafa Kamal who came to Punjab and he met Tahir Ul Qadri to settle down things in Model Town. He said that he wanted "justice". Then later on a joint-investigation-team (JIT) was formed to investigate the incident. Once that JIT cleared him from charges, he was sworn in as Punjab Law Minister again in May 2015.
