James Webb Space Telescope gazes into a galactic garden of budding stars
This stunning spiral isn’t a gateway to the abyss. It’s the galaxy M83, as seen through the eyes of the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). More specifically, the spaceborne observatory captured this image by tapping into one of its powerful infrared devices, the Mid-Infrared Instrument (MIRI).
Also known as NGC 5236, M83 is a barred spiral galaxy located about 15 million light-years from us. It's of particular interest to astronomers trying to learn more about star formation. The James Webb Space Telescope's MIRI is their current tool of choice in that quest because, as its name suggests, it observes the universe through infrared wavelengths between 5,000 and 28,000 nanometers. (By comparison, visible light, or the light human eyes are built to see, has wavelengths between 380 and 750 nanometers.)

Bad Bye | Jonathan Byers x Fem! Reader.
a/n: I want to clarify that since there wasn't much specification, I didn't do it with a happy ending 🙂 and because I love drama 💅🏻.
Jonathan and Y/N have been pretending for years that neither of them are still in touch, why? Because they both feel that just seeing each other is already infidelity. One night when they were both alone in Y/N's apartment one thing leads to another and they end up sleeping together for the first time. Now, weeks later, they meet again at a party with mutual friends and decide to clear things up.
Warnings: Angst, Y/N being the other, mentions of infidelity on Nancy's part, open ending (they can draw good or bad conclusions, either way, drama will always exist 🤌).

"Jonathan" I muttered, unconsciously clenching the plastic cup in my hand, "I didn't expect to see you here."
"Y/N..." he looked almost as uncomfortable as I felt right now. His hair was longer and messier since we last saw each other, and I could have sworn his eyes were bloodshot, as if he'd been smoking some drug. "Years without seeing you."
I nodded, not taking my eyes off the engagement ring on her ring finger.
"Who's the lucky girl?" He lowered his gaze to his hand, fidgeting his fingers around the glass nervously.
"Nancy" he said quietly, "it's always been Nancy."
"Nancy" I poured whatever was in that big pot of red liquid in my plastic cup, "I thought you were done after Steve's."
His jaw tensed for a second, letting out a big sigh to keep calm.
"We fixed things, we're fine" I turned to look at him with raised eyebrows, feeling a small twinge in my chest.
"Fine? I don't think you are" I said firmly, not taking my eyes off his, "a couple that's 'fine' isn't sleeping with a third person, Jonathan."
He looked around quickly, relaxing as he saw that everyone was too busy at the party to notice our conversation.
"Y/N, we've talked about this before, it was just once," he lowered his voice, moving a little closer towards me, smothering me with his presence.
"That was it for you? A simple one night stand with your old childhood friend?" I growled between whispers, clenching my fists at my sides, "you can say what you want, try to fool yourself, but we both know it wasn't a one night thing."
"What do you want me to say, that I enjoyed it, that I'd rather I hadn't fallen in love with Nancy in '83? That I wish this wedding was with you and not her?" his tone of voice rose just a little, still keeping the volume up so no one could hear. "No matter what I want, she loves me, and I'm happy and-"
"You love her?" I murmured, scanning his face for any sign of falsehood, of lying.
"I can't leave her, not right now" he looked around, stopping his gaze on his fiancée.
"I didn't ask that, Jonathan" I moved a little closer to him, my heart pounding "do you love her? Yes or no?"
"I may get to do it again" he lowered his gaze to me, pursing his lips guiltily, "that's how it's been from the beginning, and that's how it will continue to be, so for the life of you Y/N, stay away from me."
Tears began to well up in my eyes, a knot prevented me from being able to speak and a heavy weight settled in my stomach.
"I hate you" I said as best I could, feeling the burning in my throat, "don't come back for me when you realize this life is not the one you want."

PHEW it has been a while hasn't it! I know I said I might post more frequently but that was very clearly a LIE. Genshin Impact has consumed me and yes, I have C1 Neuvillette and no, I am probably not going to be able to get Furina in the next update, unfortunately. Poor F2P here.
That being said though, I DO have something to share with you all that I had done a bit ago! I thought it would be fun amidst the GrimmHollow event that I'm a part of to draw Candice in a Halloween costume!
Say Hello to Candice Afton! For those of you out of the loop (which is many because I haven't posted about Candice at ALL here), Candice is my character/persona for a Discord Server that I am in called Macca Corp. Essentially, Macca Corp is a fan project between me and a couple of friends based off of Lobotomy Corporation, where our characters manage a McDonalds located in the Backrooms (because it's funny). Candice and her team make sure the Corporation is kept clean, and they also repair anything that ends up broken!
In lore, Candice was a ex employee of Fazbear Entertainment who got tangled up in Pizzaplex shenanigans, and was fired due to "violent tendencies". She ended up tripping and falling into the Backrooms, which split her between space time, resulting in her body being... weird to say the least.
THAT BEING SAID THOUGH, Candice was a HUGE fan of FNAF, hence why she even worked at the Pizzaplex, and so for this Halloween she's going as Michael Afton during the bite of 83!
This next portion has NOTHING to do with the last one, so if you want to see more art and me gushing about my style overall, you may continue, but for now that's all I have to say about Candice without getting into ~Spoiler Territory~
So BECAUSE of this drawing that I absolutely fell in love with, I took another deep dive into my old art, and I found THIS gem of an artwork!
Needless to say, it's not the worst, but there is a LOT to be desired here. Firstly, the shading is ALL OVER THE PLACE. I remember it was supposed to be a top down perspective thing, but for whatever reason I decided to ALSO add ring lighting, so it just looks so messy. I remember as well that this was a redraw of ANOTHER drawing I had done a bit before that, but THAT drawing is on paper, so unfortunately I can't get it at this time. Still, I KNEW I could do better now, so I did!
SAY HELLO TO THE NEW DRAWING!
I used a lot of the same techniques I used in the Candice drawing above (although this one is considerably messier because I didn't feel the need to refine it, as it was mainly just a test), and I LOVE THIS ONE. I decided to just stick to ring lighting for it, so no top down unfortunately. There IS a difference in programs though, I will admit, but I still feel like a lot of the same techniques could be applied in my former program (I use Clip Studio Paint nowadays, but before I used an outdated version of Firealpaca).
Anyways I just felt the need to gush about the difference in style, I absolutely adore this mish mash of different brushes and tone layers, and I will never be going back!!

Good morning everyone, today we are going to be talking about the history of the Edmonton Oilers
The Edmonton oilers were founded in 1972 as one of the original franchises of the world hockey association a north American hockey league that was established as a competitor in the NHL.
In 1978 the Oilers acquired Gretzky from the financial struggling Indianapolis racers laying the foundation for the Oiler’s dominance in the 1980s the oilers were one of four WHA teams that joined the NHL in 1979 When the WHA folded. Edmonton quickly made an impact qualifying for the play-offs in there first year in the NHL. The Oilers advanced to the Stanley cup finals in the 1982-83 season behind the play of Gretzky, and a stacked team that featured future hall of fame members Mark Messier, Glenn Anderson, Jarri Kurri and Paul Coffey. They won there first Stanley cup the following season and repeated the feat in the 1984-85 season. Edmonton Oilers won Back-to- Back Stanley cups again in 1986-87 and 1987-88 season the Oilers shocked the Hockey world by Trading national Icon Gretzky to the Los Angeles kings. This shocked me when I read that in this article because Gretzky is another one of my favorite players. The Oilers finally broke out in 2016-17 season winning 47 games.

This new Hubble image shows the scatterings of bright stars and thick dust that make up spiral galaxy Messier 83, otherwise known as the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy. One of the largest and closest barred spirals to us, this galaxy is dramatic and mysterious; it has hosted a large number of supernova explosions, and appears to have a double nucleus lurking at its core.

Messier 83 lies roughly 15 million light-years away towards the huge southern constellation of Hydra (the sea serpent). It stretches over 40 000 light-years, making it roughly 2.5 times smaller than our own Milky Way.
