The Crawford Family Album: Volume XIX
Time for some sightseeing!
But first, a morning twirl in the bathroom (no need to let a little thing like the maid cleaning the loo spoil the moment).
And a leisurely breakfast on the balcony, within sight of the sea!
Green Bean adores his wonderful wife, and he doesn't care who knows it!
Frances is still trying to figure this thing out.
I think she's got it? Now to show Green Bean how it's done!
A cute moment, for a local couple.
The honeymooners are too distracted by each other to take full advantage of everything their holiday destination has to offer.
Some of the facilities prove to have an attraction though.
Well, I guess a bit of a spruce up might be in order, after the exertion... 馃槻
Over dinner that evening, Green Bean wonders whether they should go a bit further afield on their next trip. Into space, maybe? They could even call in at Sixam, so that he could introduce Frances to his planet of origin!
Bartender: "every Sim thinks they're Tom Cruise..." 馃檮
It's been short, and very sweet - they've had a wonderful time - but sadly funds won't extend to a longer holiday, so it's already time to head home. Until next time.

The Bingley Family Album: Volume XXIII
Charles has been a widower for many years, and has remained faithful to his late wife Jane's memory all that time, but he decides that perhaps he's ready now to embrace the dating scene once again. So, he calls up his old friend Michelle...
It transpires that she's always had feelings for him, and one thing leads to another!
There might still be life left in the old dog, but Charles knows that he won't be around forever, and it's time to secure the future of his young charges Emma and Georgia.
With Charles's youngest son Nathan and his fianc茅e Lillian about to embark on their life together, it only makes sense for them to move into the rambling family home, and to take on guardianship of the girls, should the worst happen.
And so, on a fine early-autumn day, a truly beautiful wedding for the young couple is hosted in the garden.
It was a really lovely occasion - one of my favourite in-game weddings!
Emma's Nurturing instinct extends to her young cousin Annabel, who can't wait to grow up too!
And of course, given the fine weather, it eventually turns into a pool party. (I didn't like the original location of the pool and gazebo, so everything got shifted around!)
As it's a special occasion, the girls get to stay up late - to finish off the wedding cake - but it's back to school for them both soon!

The Martin Family Album: Volume III
I'm very pleased to report, that after prospecting the neighbourhood for (an unfeasible number of) years, Moonshine the Stray has finally found his forever home, with Harriet and Robert! Look at that smile. 馃槉
~ Aquarius
~ Doofus / Friendly / Cowardly
He's already making himself useful.
And getting comfortable.
Little Carol is being very well nurtured by her adoptive family...
...including her much older brother Willoughby.
And as a result, she's a very accomplished young lady, being the first of my Sims to acquire all her toddler skills!
Not surprisingly, she grows up exceedingly well.
~ Aries 5 / 8 / 6 / 3 / 3
~ Brave / Sailor / Social Butterfly
~ OTH: Nature
~ Favourite Colour(s): Orange
And then heads straight outside to burn off some energy.
Meanwhile, Robert is finally getting started on the garden. It's been a cold spring, with snow remaining on the ground much longer than usual, but he's been itching to start planting.
Harriet thinks that Moonshine might be even happier with a bit of feline company, and from the list of kittens currently waiting for adoption, she chooses Moppet.
Who - thanks to my pet lifespan mod - promptly ages up, into a floofball!
~ Libra
~ Genius / Cowardly / Finicky
Moppet ingratiates herself with her new family by suggesting some stretching exercises to Carol.
Hello, and all that, but why are you sitting on my sofa?

The Elton Family Album: Volume XIV
Rather than continuing to throw money away by renting from a landlord, Marmaduke has invested his growing wealth in property, and commissioned a compact 'grand design' on an empty plot in Sanditon. (It was actually inspired by a real self-build house featured on one of my favourite TV programs, Grand Designs.)
Just testing out the pavement in front of his new investment, while he waits for a very important visitor.
He's not going to be living here alone...
...girlfriend Henrietta is moving in with him.
First stop, the bedroom. The house is sparsely furnished at present. Marmaduke favours a minimalist environment, although they will inject a bit more personality as time goes on.
After settling in, neither of them much fancy cooking a meal, so they head out to the new seafood restaurant just down the street - Seadrift.
Marmaduke and Henrietta are in tune in every other way, but he is rather lacking in the humour department, and doesn't always appreciate her quirky jokes.
Anyway, moving on swiftly from that awkward moment, let's get a table.
They get a prime spot, with a view over the river and the city lights beyond.
Checking out tonight's specials.
Marmaduke has something of his own to serve up.
Henrietta delightedly accepts his surprise proposal! And I love how her dad Frederick is lurking in the background - accidentally-on-purpose being at the same restaurant, at the same time - keeping an eye out for his daughter with this chap he doesn't really know.
Thankfully, the presence of Frederick doesn't spoil the romance of the evening. Although they never actually got to eat anything, as the waiter didn't seem to be able to serve them any food - maybe because of the candle on the table? (Anyone know how to fix it, so it doesn't block the table?)
The evening ends with a cuddle on the outdoor seating - even though some chilly rain has begun set in.
The next morning, Marmaduke is very excited about their engagement, and thinks they should hold a party, to celebrate their new home and new life together.
He might not always understand his fianc茅e's humour, but he adores her anyway.
A select group of friends and family is invited over that evening, for a dance party on the mezzanine.
Miles is a little disappointed that Henrietta is bringing their casual relationship to a close, although he understands. Long-term commitment isn't for him, but he accepts that he and Henrietta are now at different places in their lives.
Sophia is very happy for her sister, now that she's finally found her Mr Right.
And Henrietta has other reasons to feel celebratory too!

The Dashwood Family Album: Volume XXIII
When Death comes for the pragmatic Elinor, she greets him with calm acceptance.
After all, she is going to be reunited with her beloved Edward.
Robert and Lulu are far less composed about her departure though.
As Robert goes to lay Edward and Elinor's ashes to rest, side by side, Lulu keeps a close eye on this shady character who's hanging around the cemetery. (See, he's always there!)
With just the pair of them alone now in the family home, Lulu particularly misses Elinor while Robert is at work during the day.
At least her friend the postman pays her a visit every morning.
Robert also has a welcome guest.
And it seems as though - against the odds - serial romancer Miles has started to think more seriously about their joint future...
But no! Too soon, Robert!
Miles assures him that he does love him, and even admits that if he's going to settle down with anyone, it would probably be Robert, but he's still not ready for that level of commitment just yet.
Crestfallen, but not without hope, Robert serves up the special meal he's prepared for them anyway.
And before Miles heads home, can't help wondering whether presenting the ring in a different-coloured box might change his mind? Maybe? Ermm, no.
Such are the trials of a Family Sim who has fallen in love with a Romance Sim.
Robert's also left regretting going against his Vegetarian principles, in an effort to impress - maybe serving seafood for dinner was just asking for trouble.
Oh boy!

The Tilney Family Album: Volume XVII
Time to meet the nooboo!
As it happened, Eleanor was already pregnant when the alien menace whisked her away, and the baby boy is Esther's, with her deep blue eyes. They name the new arrival Ellis.
(I confess I was a little disappointed by the lack of alien progeny, but I guess there鈥檚 still time!)
What more could Esther want from life? She has just married the love of her life, and now she's a mother too!
The new parents take it in turns to stay at home with their young son. One afternoon - shortly after Eleanor has put Ellis down for his nap - the family has an unexpected visitor. Lillian - the fianc茅e of Eleanor's cousin Nathan - drops in while mysteriously in character.
She's not really known to the family, but it seems that Lillian just happened to be in that part of town, and decided to take the opportunity to introduce herself. And wake up the baby.
Being the curious soul that she is, Eleanor can't help wanting to know just how much Lillian identifies with her llama persona?
Lillian tries to explain that it's not so much about being a llama, as channelling the ineffable spirit of llamaness into everyday life. Well, it's certainly an interesting philosophy.
Lillian has fortuitously coincided her visit with Ellis's first birthday.
No, it's not just Ellis's stinky nappy that is causing Eleanor's nausea...
There's another unexpected arrival, and this time it's a new baby sister for Ellis - welcome to the family, Esme!
He's quite happy to have a new sibling, but can't wait for her to grow up a bit, so that they can play together properly.
~ Gemini 5 / 5 / 4 / 3 / 9
~ Friendly / Slob
~ OTH: Games
Perhaps as a result of being exposed to Lillian's extravagant headgear at such a young age, he also won't do anything or go anywhere without his green monster hat.

The Elton Family Album: Volume XIII
Chase has become a regular fixture in Ellen's life.
And is there to welcome Olivia and Elliot's second child to Merybury. Hello, Philippa! Named after her deceased grandfather, of course.
Elliot has yet to meet his new daughter. He's been dispatched to lay Harley to rest, and in so doing bumps into his brother-in-law Ambrose. Seeing a chance to build some bridges, Elliot tries to engage him in conversation. Ambrose, however, still hasn't forgotten how Elliot humiliated his family, and has no time for him - Olivia might have forgiven her now-husband, but he certainly hasn't!
The pet cemetery is a regular hunting ground for the Unsavory Charlatan - he has no respect for the dead! Poor unsuspecting Edward!
Impatient Olivia has take surprisingly well to motherhood, and is currently embracing her role.
Although it's good to see the little ones growing up.

~ OTH: Nature
And while she has been happy to continue the family line, two tots are quite enough, thank you, and it's time to start progressing her career plans.
Especially as their oldest child Phineas is becoming more independent by the day.

Ellen is also making some changes in her life. Interestingly, neither she nor Philip ever felt the need to put their relationship on a more formal footing, so something is different with her new love Chase - perhaps just the fact that neither of them is getting any younger!
But cruelly, her intuition was correct, and their newfound happiness is snatched away from them almost immediately!
Poor Ellen - it really does seem most unfair that she's been deprived of companionship twice in her elder years!

Gardening in PJs.
With his Green Thumb, Robert proves to be a natural. (Although I think he needs to tackle those weeds pronto.)
Carol would love to be an older sister, but given that Harriet isn't getting any younger, it might not be wise to adopt again, and I think she's destined to be an only child.
Moonshine is there to see her off on her first day at school - albeit distracted by a tasty puddle.
Well, the younger sibling that Carol longs for might not be on the horizon, but it looks like there will be at least one addition to the family...
There's a sudden profusion of kittens! There are four altogether - Daisy, Dave, Dougal and Douglas - but please don't expect me to know which is which!
They're being extremely well cared for, by both parents.
Except when one accidentally wanders off and gets a little lost... (They were safely returned to the fold - no harm done!)
However, by the time they age up, I think parental patience with their antics is wearing a little thin.
Look at that adorable fluffy face though! I think this is Dougal?
Mum and dad both head outside into the spring sunshine, for a bit of respite from their rambunctious brood.
Perhaps in the end Carol will appreciate not having to share her parents with anyone else, as she's never short of attention from either of them. They're both so very glad that she came to live with them, and made their little family complete.

The Brandon Family Album: Volume VII
Family man Christopher's concern extends just as much to his pets Pixie...
...and Weeble,...
...as to his grandchildren. He and Giles in particular have bonded over a shared love of music, and Christopher is more than happy to pass on his extensive knowledge of the topic.
He and Marianne are united in their determination to keep up their fitness levels, even in their elder years.
I think they need to be more conscious of not overdoing it though!
Youngest daughter Joanna is still at home with them, and has other plans for this hot, summer's afternoon.
Although in the past she and Hester were an item for a while, Louie seems to have finally captured her heart like no other.
She wastes no time in making her long-term intentions clear.
But Louie is left cold by the proposition of a more fixed commitment. What is it with everyone wanting to tie them down, just when life is beginning to open up for them?!
Joanna has little option but to divert her energies into her own career, with positive results!
As autumn draws in, it's time to say goodbye to Merybury's most preposterous pooch. For now, she's laid to rest in the peaceful back garden.
The Brandons can't bear to be without a dog for long though, and new friend Abbey is soon welcomed to the family!
She's friendly and affectionate...
...if a little high-spirited.
But they're all sure she will fit in just fine, with a little patience, and firm but kind training.

It's wedding day for Merybury's wannabe power couple - Olivia and Elliot - and Olivia's parents are hosting the event at the family home.
The guests are all assembled for the big day. Although Elliot's older brother Walter seems to have come straight from work - I guess Adventuring doesn't keep regular business hours.
It's a beautiful afternoon, so let's get the ceremony underway!
But it looks like Elliot isn't really feeling it...
REALLY not feeling it!
Oh my goodness! (I have never seen this before in my game, ever, and I thought it was absolutely priceless.)
Poor Olivia! Before the pink petals have had a chance to fall, Elliot has left her for dust!
That certainly wasn't the spectacle that the guests were expecting to witness!
Ellen is taking her daughter's public humiliation particularly hard.
And even though Elliot eventually slunk back to the 'party' after several hours of being AWOL, Olivia is venting her fury at his brother Walter, for some reason! Elliot's sister Sophia is quite sanguine - with her bag of snacks - but mother-of-the-not-quite-groom Anne is also struggling to cope with the turn of events.
Can the golden couple ever recover from this? Given the depth of Olivia's rage, I have my doubts.

The Steele Family Album: Volume XVII
We're heading over to the other side of town today, to see how the other Steele sister is getting on.
Very well, as it happens!
And we finally get to meet the man behind the llama. I like him! As does Nancy, clearly. He just needs a more becoming hairstyle.
Although Nancy is by nature an independent girl, there's a real spirit of togetherness between these two, even hitting the gym together.
Which is why Nancy decides to invite him to move in, and share the rent.
Meet Steve Hicks, before...
...and after his makeover.
(Fun fact: I actually love this Maxis hair, and I'm really glad of an opportunity to use it!)

Loneliness seems to be a thing of the past for Nancy.
Steve needs to pay his way though - Nancy won't tolerate freeloaders - so he signs up as a recruit.
And just in time, as he's about to become a family man!
It's a boy! With his mum's (and grandfather William's) amber eyes.
Steve, meet your new baby son, Andrew.
Yeah, babies tend to do that.

The Steele Family Album: Volume XIX
Back at the Steele family home, there's an important event taking place.
Simon is meeting his daughter Laura for the first time.
But there's also a goodbye to be said - this time to Lucy. And William is actually cheering about it! 馃槷 Things have been rather frosty between them, ever since he witnessed Lucy's moment of weakness with George, but this is a whole other level of vindictiveness!
And then - perhaps through divine providence - the living room furniture catches fire. Thankfully, the urns containing the ashes of Lucy and Meg on the mantelpiece survive the blaze intact!
Catherine and Simon have also been a little careless again. Or perhaps it was by design this time?
Catherine very sensibly goes into labour in the nursery...
...and gives birth to a second daughter - Rebecca. Let's hear it for recessive genes! She has her great-grandmother's eyes, passed on through her grandmother Kitty.
Shortly after, arriving home from work one evening - with a colleague in tow - karma finally sneaks up on William from behind, in the form of Grim.
He doesn't mind too much. After all, he is going to rest in peace in a tropical paradise - or maybe just to sit on the mantelpiece, next to his fianc茅e and his cat. Who can say?
Brie is noisily outraged at the departure of her Sim. But Independent Dolly - having no strong bond with the rest of the family - makes the pragmatic decision to try her luck elsewhere, and slopes off alone into the darkness of the night.
Of course, Catherine reports Dolly as missing straight away - she is an elder now, and Catherine is worried about her being out on the streets. But whether she will be seen again is anyone's guess. Cats, after all, are their own masters.

Well, that was fast work! Nancy is keen to get back to work as soon as possible, so if Andrew - their firstborn - is not to be an only child, there's no time to waste.

Dad knows how to fix the grizzles.
What they're putting in kids' books these days seems to be a bit of a shocker though.
The army was very much a job of convenience, and soon after completing his basic training, Steve is fortunate to find himself an opening in his dream career instead.
Nancy is at home alone when Andrew's little brother Alisdair makes his appearance. He has his dad's striking grey eyes.
(Yeah, I seem to be going with a bit of a Scottish theme with the baby names, and I have no idea why!)
Nancy hasn't had much time for socialising lately, so she's very glad to catch up with her old friend Margaret.
Although perhaps the tiredness that comes from caring for two under-twos is making her especially irritable at the moment.
Alisdair is bit of a poppet too.
~ Sagittarius 9 / 3 / 7 / 1 / 3
~ Brave / Loves the Outdoors
~ OTH: Fitness
They might be a pair of little meanies (Andrew especially), but these two brothers certainly love each other!
With two active youngsters, the cramped, impersonal apartment is starting to feel rather confined, Perhaps it's time to start looking for a family home, where the boys can have a bit more room to run and play?

Mozzarella has lost his (accidental) blue rinse.
Despite an unpromising start, Erasmus and Louisa have become the best of friends, and they're really pleased that they will soon be moving into the same hall of residence at uni.
He somehow always feels more comfortable outside at night, under his beloved stars, even in the rain.
Ambitious Catherine is still proving to be a force to be reckoned with in the field of medicine. But she's on another mission too...
...to instil some discipline into the wayward household felines.
Mozzarella is utterly disdainful that Meg would stoop to even considering coming when called.
Catherine's training regime is clearly not working - not with Doofus Dolly anyway.
