Okay so sorry this took so long but I figured yall deserved an update on my Betta merman doll. (For whatever reason my brain is horrible at actually remembering to post about shit when I finish things. I think my brain just goes "we're done yeah?" When I'm finished and completely spaced that you also have to make a post if ya want to show it to peeps) but yeah Here he is!!
I added some lil hip fins as well as some ear fins and I had to redo his face up because getting the ear fins in did this to my old one
meant to post these sooner but I have been soooo busy putting off crafts to think about posting pictures lol
ANYWAY as a late Xmas gift to myself I got two mystery boxes of these girlies from kikagoods and tbh I love them so much.
Like this is almost what im looking for in mermaid dolls, and they feel so good in my hands. My only complaint really is that the little one is SO FRICKING LOOSE she is so wiggly and hard to pose but shes cute so ill forgive it for now. Also her hair doesn't totally sit right but whatever.
I was finally comfy ordering these girlies bc I had picked up my grump bump boy at a toy show and he's so fantastic, literally one of my favs, so natch I needed more. Might order another of the bigger one when I have money again, bc even if I get a repeat I can just modify her bc I enjoy how her tail is made so much
Had anyone tried this brand? I was looking for pregnant Midge alternative again and came across this really cute set. Yes it's a little weird but I like.
On a dark desert highway in Mojave, there's a Kwik Stop with a small section of clone dolls.
I present, for your delectation, Jada.
While Jada is labeled Nurse Doll, she appears from her accoutrements to be a veterinarian. She has the same dog as Emily, Girl and Her Pets, who also comes with a rolling suitcase. (As is often the case with low-end clones, Jada has a healthier looking face-up than white Emily.)
Jada and Emily are imported by Artoy Trading LLC, impulse toys, joy in every toy!
I didn't check for the importer on Chloe, The Ultimate Fashionista! because I was so struck by how she has the face of a 2014-ish Dollar Tree Beauty. It's been a while since I've seen that specific face-up.
The ultimate in fashion, in Chloe's world, is a kimono.
There was a later gas station, in MacFarland, that had a much smaller toy section, but a different 4.5" mermaid face-up than I've seen before.
Check out that eye liner! She's genuinely cute -- much cuter than the Dollar Tree mermaid girls -- but her inability to function on land would make her a tough fit with Kelly, Evi Love, and the rest of the 4.5" gang. While I like the face-up, I don't love it enough to get involved with getting her a new body and new hair.
The other doll that I've been slowly working on today is my merman! I replaced his fins!
Because hes gonna be a Betta Fishman I grabbed some iridescent fabric from joann's and used some thin green floral wire to create possible edges up top.
I sewed the wires in, cut the fabric into the right shape and have started a first pass on some color.
Okay, Barbie, WTF?! I got these cool Barbie Color Reveal mermaid dolls. I’m disappointed that the hips don’t bend but mostly what throws me off is that they say there’s SEVEN dolls to collect. Do tell me, DOES THIS LOOK LIKE SEVEN TO YOU?!?!?!
