Hello my little Brötchen!

I just flew in from Germany and boy are my arms...

Sorry.

Oh yes! A humble request to you all who wish to see me on the MERA LUNA festival, you must go here and vote to let them know you wish to rock it crazy style with me, or I'll find something else to do...we've got to know the response will be strong there or I'll go to Siberia instead.

I'll write more later on all of the lurid details of what was a fabulous two weeks of no sleep and even less sleep, but I confess I will not have so very much time to be online in the coming weeks due to the madness that is taking over the household, and preparations for the tour. But sweet sweet Germany...met with Nuclear Blast, attempted to rock the clubs with my violindustrial revolution (rock the Bach), drank Freixenette with my awesome booking agents, posed ridiculously for a million (literally) pretty pictures, and learned a song about fishies.

Ah! But here are some pics from some of the EP Release parties, so much more in the Asylum Arsenal, could I but have a day to compile and upload, but alas...

I came home after a 27 hour flight which also lost my luggage (still don't have it back) and had soy carrot cake ice cream in bed and watched the Muppet Show. Probably the happiest night of my life…

Mera Luna 2022

Why are we, as a community and as a subculture, still supporting Adora? It’s been over two years since her Halloween costume. People *know* what she’s done. The fact that such a high-profile festival as Mera Luna is collaborating with her is honestly sickening, and I would like to think that the rest of our community would agree that she does not represent the goth subculture. I haven’t touched this blog in... it’s been a while. But I honestly just did not expect to see her face come up again in my feed after all that went down. So, in case folks forgot, missed out on the news back in 2020, or are new to the whole goth subculture (in which case welcome!), I’m just putting it back out here that it’s never okay to support influencers like Adora who are r*pe apologists; make blatantly racist, ableist, and transphobic comments online; and promote eating disorders to young and impressionable followers. I’m not really one for online drama and witch hunts, but I do believe this woman has crossed the line one too many times.

If you want/need any more information on Adora, you can read the other posts on this blog about her, and there are also some other really amazing people close to the situation who have put together educational resources with the intention of keeping our subculture safe. I’ll link some of them here for y’all.

Historia de una Extraña y Hermosa Noche

Una voz que espera por mí en un mundo extraño.

Quiero estar contigo en un momento de felicidad

¡¿El capitán pirata bajo la luz de luna resulta ser Hansol...?!

Intro:

— MC: ¡¡Chicos!! ¡¡Hagamos una fiesta de Halloween!!

— Yooha: ¿¿Halloween?? ¿Qué es eso? Bueno, ¡Estoy dispuesto a ello si tú lo quieres!

— Hansol: Oh, Yooha. Estoy tan decepcionado. ¿No sabes lo que es? Biho, supongo que tú sabes.

— Biho: Sí. Tiene origen en la tradición Celta pero es más un festival de atuendos en estos días.

— Taehee: Suena como una vieja tradición.

— MC: Sí, ¿Quién sabe...?

— Yooha: ¿Atuendos? Oh, ¡Lo tengo! ¿Vestirse como fantasmas y esas cosas? ¿Pero realmente lo sabías, Hansol...?

— Hansol: ¡¡Sí, lo sabía!! Al final de Octubre, los Muertos visitan la tierra y elijen a un hombre vivo.

— Biho: Cierto y, el elegido será poseído por un año... Y para evitar ser elegido, los humanos se visten como los Muertos...

— Taehee: Suena un poco aterrador...

— MC: Pero pensando en ello... ¡Su mera existencia es Halloween! Duendes y un zorro de ocho colas...

— Taehee: Oh... Supongo que tienes razón. No deberíamos vestirnos como duendes o zorros por una vez.

— Hansol: ¡Sí! ¡Quiero probar algo diferente!

— Biho: Si, algo muy diferente como... Drácula...

— Yooha: Oh, ¡¡Suena como algo para expresar mi sensualidad interior!!

— MC: Genial. ¿Entonces todos están de acuerdo con la fiesta? ¡¡Vayamos a comprar atuendos!!

Y las calles están llenas de objetos de Halloween y decoraciones.

— Biho: ¿Huh? ¡Por allí...! Hay algo extraño...

— Yooha: Woa, ¿Qué dem...?

(¿He visto ese edificio antes...?)

— Taehee: Podemos conseguir todos nuestros objetos para la fiesta de Halloween de esa tienda.

— Hansol: ¡De acuerdo! ¡¡Seré el primer premiado en la competencia de atuendos de compañeros de casa!!

— Yooha: ¿Qué competencia...? No recuerdo haberme unido a ninguna.

— Taehee: ¿Huh...?

— Biho: Bueno... Esto es nuevo para mí también.

— MC: ¿Entonces qué? Para mí suena divertido. Probemos esa competencia de atuendos.

Y cuando abrimos las puertas de la tienda, vemos-

una tienda de ropa normal.

— Hansol: Geez... Eso no es divertido.

— Yooha: ¡¡Nos engañaron con todas esas decoraciones!!

— MC: Hmm... Pero aún así, tienen algunos atuendos únicos aquí...

— Biho: Yendo por la derecha... parece haber más.

— Taehee: Entonces Biho y yo echaremos un vistazo en el ala derecha.

— Yooha: ¡Fiu! Este lugar de seguro es grande... Entonces tomo la izquierda-

— Hansol: Yooha- ¡¡¡No me dejes!!!

El lado derecho donde Taehee y Biho desaparecieron está lleno de coloridas luces brillando- y el lado derecho por donde Hansol y Yooha fueron está brillando misteriosamente en violeta.

(Huh... ¿Qué camino debería tomar?)

( ¡Seguir a Taehee y Biho por la derecha! ) ( ¡Seguir a Hansol y Yooha por la izquierda! ) ✓

Impulsada por un eterno sentimiento de confusión, camino hacia la izquierda hacia donde fueron Hansol y Yooha.

Cuando sigo a Hansol y a Yooha, las luces aparecen en medio de una habitación oscura.

— Hansol: ¡Oh, dios...! ¡Eso fue terrorífico!

— Yooha: Jaa... ¿Cómo se supone que compre ropa cuando está tan oscuro?

— MC: Hey, ¿Dónde están chicos? No puedo ver...

— Hansol: ¿Realmente podemos comprar en esta oscuridad?

— MC: Quizás debamos regresar al (lugar) de donde venimos.

Después de regresar a la parte brillante de la tienda, buscamos por los alrededores ropa que podamos usar en Halloween.

— MC: Chicos, ¿Cuál creen que luce mejor? ¿Este...? ¿O ese?

— Yooha: Hmm, te ves bien en ambos.

— Hansol: ¡Este! ¡En realidad, ese! Gahhh, no lo sé. ¡Luces bien en ambos!

Tomo las dos opciones y voy al probador.

(Oh, ¿Escuché algo caerse afuera?)

Dejando la extraña sensación de dèjá vu detrás, intento cambiarme la ropa.

— MC: Hey, vengan a ver esto.

Cuando abro las cortinas para mostrar mi nuevo atuendo, un extraño escenario se revela ante mis ojos- y Hansol y Yooha no están por ningún lado.

— MC: ¿Huh...? ¿Qué está pasando?

[ 1 ]

Cuando abro las cortinas del probador, soy recibida por una extraña escena frente a mis ojos.

— MC: ¿Q-Qué es esto? Hansol, me estaba preguntando a dónde habías ido.

Pero algo me dice que no debería entrar en este lugar. Rápidamente cierro la cortina.

(Calmémonos... Sí, quizás la tienda está llevando a cabo un evento especial o algo.)

Después de calmar a mi corazón, abro la cortina de nuevo.

— MC: ¿Oh...?

Pero esta vez, esa extraña escena no está.

Solo veo oscuridad...

Pensando que no puedo salir de este lugar si no actúo primero, doy un paso en el probador. Entonces-

*Chapoteo*-

(¿Hay agua en el piso?)

Después de dar uno o dos pasos, noto una fuerza que me succiona hacia abajo.

— MC: ¡¿Uhhh...?! ¡¡¡No...!!!

Al principio, pensé que estaba cayendo en un charco, pero en realidad, estoy cayendo a un lugar desconocido. Y cuando abro los ojos, me encuentro en un espacio cósmico.

(¿Dónde estoy...?)

Nado hacia adelante, casi flotando alrededor en el espacio.

[···]

[( — MC: ¿Huh...?

— ???: ¡Hey, bebe! ¡Vamos a celebrar que nos volvimos amigos! ¡Nunca había conocido a alguien con un pensamiento más afín que tú!

Un escenario poco familiar y edificios que me recuerdan a la plaza de un parque de diversiones. Y un chico que parece Hansol, pero no se siente como que sea el mismo Hansol que yo conozco.

(¿Qué hay con ese parche en el ojo? ¿Es un pirata?)

— ???: Nadie lo cree, pero yo si. ¡Encontraré la cueva y a su tesoro legendario! ¡Contigo...!

Entonces un recuerdo poco familiar se precipita en mi cabeza. En realidad, no son recuerdos. Son sucesos-

justo ante mis ojos.

[···]

— ???: ¡Hey! ¡Por aquí! Lo encontré. ¡Realmente lo hicimos!

Una chica aparece y salta en los brazos del hombre por un profundo abrazo, emocionada.

(¡¡¡...!!!)

Y esa chica soy yo.

Incluso aunque ella tiene una apariencia diferente de la mía,

(Ella realmente soy yo.)

[···]

(¿Oh...? Es es el lugar que vi antes.)

— ???: No... No puedes irte así. Lo prometimos. ¡Por favor...!

Ninguna vivacidad podía ser encontrada en el chicos de antes cuando está arrodillado delante de la cama, llorando mientras sostiene la mano de alguien.

Mi cuerpo se siente incómodo como si aún estuviera debajo del agua, pero nado cerca para tener una mejor vista.

(¡Hey, esa soy yo en la cama! ¿Qué en la tierra está sucediendo aquí?) )]

Confundida y frustrada, no puedo pensar en nada. Solo miro la escena desde lejos, como si estuviera viendo una película triste en el teatro.

[···]

— ???: La maldición que traje... la cortaré con mis propias manos. Nunca dejaré que tu muerte sea en vano.

El hombre termina sus palabras solemnemente e intenta tomar una poción que parece peligrosa a la vista. Debido a la triste expresión del chico, mi corazón comienza a palpitar con dolor.

— MC: ¡¡No!!

Sin ninguna espera, le grito al chico.

Como si escuchara mi grito, el chico duda por un momento. Pero pronto traga la poción. )]

Todo en mi visión se disuelve y soy dejada con este espacio vacío.

(¿Qué fue eso que vi? En realidad, ¿Cómo escapo de este lugar?)

Entonces, con un rugido, el espacio comienza a torcerse.

No puedo mantener mi cabeza derecha del dolor y del mareo.

— MC: Ugh...

Pierdo mi consciencia...

[( Entonces despierto en frente de un castillo gigante.

(¿Qué es este lugar ahora?)

Miro alrededor con el muerto y espantoso castillo ante mis ojos, Y hay un bosque negro como el carbón detrás de mí.

(Quizás sea mejor encontrar un lugar para resguardarme para esperar por la mañana.)

Mis instintos de supervivencia aparecen y rápidamente voy hacia el castillo.

(Está realmente silencioso aquí. ¿No hay nadie alrededor?)

— MC: ¿Hola...? ¿Hay alguien aquí?

Asustada de que algo aterrador pueda aparecer, llamo a los duendes y al zorro, con la más pequeña esperanza.

(Quizás pueda tener una mejor vista desde algún lugar en lo alto.)

Este castillo está ubicado en una locación más alta de lo que esperaba y, gracias a eso, tengo una clara vista de la distancia. Sin embargo, todo lo que miro alrededor no es nada más que el océano y el bosque oscuro.

(*Suspiro*... No sé si pueda salir, incluso cuando el sol salga.)

Miro directamente hacia el fondo del castillo y encuentro un barco en el agua. También puedo ver a alguien moviéndose en la cubierta.

(¡Oh! ¡Creo que es una persona allí!

Rápidamente bajo desde la torre del castillo. Cuando veo el barco desde cerca, noto que es un barco pirata que vi en películas.

(¡Espero que nada malo me pase!

Solo en caso de que surja un problema, tomé un par de piedras del suelo y las apreté en mis puños.

En silencio, doy pasos hacia el barco y veo la sombra de una persona, recostada contra la cubierta. Trago y me escabullo hacia la persona.

Justo mientras pongo un pie en el barco, la luz de luna cae sobre el rostro del hombre, revelando quién es. Y el rostro que veo debajo de la luz es de...

— MC: ¡¿Huh...?!

(¡Hmmmph!)

Justo cuando veo su rostro, involuntariamente hago un ruido.

— ???: ¿Hola? ¿Hay alguien ahí? )]

VNV Nation - Beloved not specifically about me, but about me thinking about my friend who passed away

Not sure if overrated is the right term here, but I would love for Radio Stations to discover different Songs by some artists. Like, please find more Depeche Mode songs than just Enjoy the silence and Personal Jesus, please DJ’s find more VnV Nation Songs than Control or more Covenant Songs than Dead Stars. I do love all those songs, but there’s more where they came from!

5. A song that reminds you of a good memory

I’m gonna go with a good festival memory: A few years ago, I was sleeping in my tent at Mera Luna Festival and I hate sleeping in tents, because it’s always too cold at night and then too warm in the morning and I like to sleep in, which is never possible. This was just around the time it gets warm, and instead of waking up by heat, I lay there very cozy, when Placebo started doing a sound check on stage. I don’t know why they did that at 9 AM, when their actual concert was in the evening, but they did, and they did just the start of Battle for the Sun a few times in a row and it was the best way to wake up

6. The last song you listened to

My phone says Florence and the Machine - Leave my Body, which is what I listened to in the car on my way back from a friend

7. A song that makes you love

Depeche Mode - One Caress - I think I’m just going to steal this @lovethatcoat, because it’s been one of my favourites for years
