There is no effective cure to AIDS yet, but there are certain drugs that can manage it called ARVs ( AntiRetroViral). According to a study by NIH (National Institute of Health), cannabis has proved to be effective in managing AIDS by providing anti-inflammatory characteristics.
Arthritis
Arthritis is the swelling and stiffening of joints in the body. It is caused by inflammation of joints mainly due to age. This means that older people have a higher chance of getting arthritis. It mainly affects fingers, knees and toes. Arthritis is not a single disease, there are many types of it. These include Osteoarthritis, Autoimmune Inflammatory Arthritis, Gout (Metabolic Arthritis) and Infectious Arthritis.
According to a research made in 2006 by PubMed, cannabis proved to be effective in the treatment of pain and stress that is caused by rheumatoid arthritis.
Cachexia and Anorexia
These are two different conditions. Cachexia is a condition that causes weight and muscle loss of the body. It eats most of the body fat and muscles leaving the patient thin. This is mainly suffered by people in the final stages of chronic conditions like cancer, HIV/AIDS and multiple sclerosis.
Anorexia on the other hand is a disorder which makes someone lose appetite and the ability to eat. This may be a symptom of a very serious disease or it may be due to an unstable mental condition. For example, the patient may be overthinking what may happen to their body if they eat.
However, both conditions may lead to weight loss. Studies have also shown that cannabis may help by stimulating the appetite of consumers. This may be helpful to patients with eating disorders.
Glaucoma
This is a condition that damages the optic nerve that connects the eye to the brain. There are several types but the most common is open-angle glaucoma. The optical nerve is damaged by pressure to the eye which is called intraocular pressure. Glaucoma gets worse over time and may lead to permanent blindness.
According to NIH Bookshelf, clinical trials show that consumption of cannabis may help manage glaucoma by relieving intraocular pressure from the eye.
Muscle Spasm
Muscle spasms are cramps caused by involuntary muscle contraction. These cramps can happen to any muscle and can be very painful. They are usually caused by muscle fatigue, stress, shortage in blood flow to the muscles and even dehydration. Spacity is not age restricted. Anyone, any age can experience muscle spasm. However, there are people who experience it a lot more than is normal.

Cancer is a disease in which some cells in the body grow haphazardly and start invading other parts of the body. The tomor can start anywhere in the body and anyone can get it. There are many types of cancers. These include bone marrow cancer, breast cancer, skin cancer and liver cancer. It also has different stages depending on its severity.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the active cannabinoids (ingredients) in cannabis. CBD is considered to have many medical applications, and works in concert with THC to obtain what is known as the entourage effect. CBD is often extracted from the marijuana plant in the form of liquid oil and has slowly begun use as a treatment for Dravet syndrome in some US states.
Dravet syndrome is a form of epilepsy that begins during the infancy of a child’s life. This disease creates lethal seizures often with several instances per day. While there are reports that CBD is effective in the treatment of those who suffer epileptic events there is a lack of sufficient medical evidence to understand its effectiveness and safety.
Raphael Mechoulam is a cannabinoid researcher in Israel who believes Avidekel to be the first CBD enriched cannabis plant with almost no THC. Some researchers currently believe that CBD may also serve as a way to open receptors CB1 and CB2, allowing them to take in more of the available THC in the plant. A Canadian company has recently developed an aerosol drug for oral administration containing a nearly even mixture of THC and CBD. It was approved in 2005 under the name Sativex and is currently being used to alleviate pain associated with multiple sclerosis.
CBD is a Schedule two drug in Canada allowing for some medical uses, in the United States however it is not so clear cut. While marijuana itself it a Schedule I substance in the United States the Controlled Substances Act does not list CBD under any Schedule of the act. This has not stopped the Drug Enforcement Administration from treating CBD as a Schedule I substance. So while it may appear the drug is not currently regulated it is being treated as such by authority officials.
CBD is a potential treatment for glaucoma.
It is believed that due to CBD not being listed on the controlled substances act that CBD may be legal under federal law assuming it meets specific requirements. There is an exemption that allows products to be manufactured and sold in the United States if they produced from mature stalks and the fibers produced by them. This includes hemp oil and extracts of hemp products which may have high CBD content.
There is a US patent on file #6,630,507 titled “Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants” which is assigned to “The United States of America as Represented by The Department of Health and Human Services.” This patent mentions the use of CBD as a use as an anti-epileptic as well as a potential treatment for glaucoma. There is also a claim that using CBD may prevent neurotoxicity in the human brain as well as lower intraocular pressure in acute doses. The drug is also listed to have high antioxidant activity which can be used in oxidation associated diseases.

"Partnering with Massachusetts cannabis company New England Treatment Access, or NETA, Anderson’s Best Dirty Lemonade goes on sale Friday, June 30. In time, he hopes to roll out other “Best Dirty” beverages, including strawberry and blue raspberry juices.
It’s a slightly different recipe than the lemonade he whipped up for his mother — better suited to be bottled and sold commercially.
The taste is not “overly weed-y,” Anderson said. “It’s sweet and refreshing and it doesn’t leave a heavy syrupy taste on your tongue or that coating in your mouth.”
The non-carbonated drinks will be available at recreational dispensaries as 12-ounce bottles with 5 mg of THC (the primary active compound in cannabis) and as a medical product in a stronger 25 mg dose. For those who prefer a smaller serving size, the drinks come in a resealable bottle."
