Also random tangent, but I swear, Milk, Purple Yam, and to an extent Chess Choco, kind of confuse the timeline of when Dark Choco betrayed his kingdom, at least to me (at least in terms of Ovenbreak, we’ll leave Kingdom out of this discussion).
Like, from what you could gather from the Shattered Kingdom, as well as Dark Choco’s visual changes between current day and his old look, it’d be easy to say that his betrayal happened years ago. But then here Milk and Yam come in, and apparently they have no clue about Dark Choco turning to the dark side, despite them going on a quest looking for him. And also I’m told he went to Dragon’s Valley to find the Strawberry Jam Sword, which again, was a long time ago (I don’t know if he went back sometime recently, hence why they’re going there, I haven’t seen that part of their story yet). So why is it that Milk and Yam are going there now to try and find him?
Either Milk and Yam’s sources are horribly outdated, and/or they’re completely ignorant of knowledge that seems to be at least moderately well known, given characters like Knight and Pistachio know about it, despite neither seeming to have any affiliation with the Shattered Kingdom, or this event could not have happened that long ago.
And going back to Chess Choco, the fact that they’re from there despite them being young children also sort of implies that it couldn’t have happened that long ago. But again, looking at the state of disrepair the Shattered Kingdom seems to be in (at the very least this, not counting Dark Choco’s appearance), this could not have happened so recently
So which is it, Dark Choco betrayed his kingdom relatively recently, to the point where two people who are actively looking for him don’t know, or did it happen a long time ago and is somewhat known, at least amongst other knights and warriors?
Also pivoting off slightly, but how does Milk not know that Dark Choco betrayed his kingdom? Like, he seems to think that Dark Choco is still the same hero he met before, at least that’s how I understand it. I mean, they’re in the Shattered Kingdom, and Milk knows the place is in ruins, and that it’s Dark Choco’s home, but neither he nor Yam make any reference to Dark Choco being the one who caused this. But as someone actively looking for him, how would he not have this information? Like what does he think happened to the Shattered Kingdom?
I know I said to ignore Kingdom, but there, while Milk does still admire Dark Choco and seems to be looking for him, as far as I can tell, he hasn’t shown up enough to say whether or not he knows of Dark Choco’s betrayal, and I mean, his and Yam’s search for him works either way. I mean, I’d hope he knows of it, given Milk comes from Dark Choco’s kingdom and should logically know of his own prince’s betrayal, and even if by some means he’s been out searching for him since before that happened and hasn’t returned since, you’d assume someone from the Milk Village would know of Milk’s quest and tell him what happened. But yeah, with Kingdom I can give him a pass since we just don’t know yet
But with Ovenbreak, we know that Milk is unaware (as well as likely Yam, since while we know he’s heard things and also doesn’t like Dark Choco, considering the fact that he’s now close with Milk, you’d imagine he’d tell Milk if he knew. But I don’t really mention Yam in this since I don’t think it’d matter to him either way, so long as he gets to fight Dark Choco). But how?
I feel like the creators may have had the idea to create a character that knew Dark Choco back when he was a hero and admires him for it, which I admit is interesting, but at the same time, they make it so Milk isn’t aware of Dark Choco’s turn to the dark side for whatever reason (likely to preserve his admiration without it seeming strange that he’d still admire someone who’s done horrible things), and it just creates logic holes
I know that Ovenbreak doesn’t have the best quality storytelling in the franchise, but still

He doesn’t look like a king.
“King”, in Ren’s mind, is a powerful being. Crowned head and robed shoulders, commanding respect with the brandishing of a blade. “King” means something.
What does Ren mean?
Ren means floral shirts and attentive ears and a tail that wags a bit too eagerly when he sees BDubs. Ren means Gigacorp and profits and order. Ren means paved roads and over-the-top plans and a desire for good and order and beauty.
And maybe that can mean king...
And as he watches his reflection amidst the tower BDubs erected in his honor, he thinks a crown might look just fine between his ears.
The shadows which lag behind him don’t seem to agree.
“You’re playing a dangerous game, pup.”
Ren winces at the thing which speaks through his mouth, reflection warping to accompany graying skin and burning eyes. He’s grown used to the Red King butting into his contemplative hours, but it still sends a chill up his spine whenever he does.
“Not like it’s one we haven’t played before.”
“We lost that game.”
“So we’ll win this one.”
Ren’s reflection scoffs at the idea, red eyes rolling in distaste. “You can’t win a game without an objective.”
“So we make one!”
A clean server, order, community, roads weaving the providences together. That’s an objective, isn’t it?
Ren smiles at the thought of all the good he can do.
The Red King grimaces. “You cannot be serious...”
“Why not be!” He laughs, a hand running through his hair as he turns his attention out the window. The sun’s setting on Hermitcraft (not that he thinks BDubs will let it sink fully) and it’s painted spawn in a beautiful pallet of orange and yellows and reds. There’s an overly-dramatic sigh as he leans against the banister, looking out at the server.
His kingdom....
His reflection remains in the mirror though, the Red King’s face one of concern as he watches Ren yearn.
“Tell me you don’t wanna wear a crown again?”
A hollow, inhuman laugh. “I’d like nothing more. But this isn’t the server we ruled last time.”
“Right! This one’s uncursed, man. We don’t gotta kill anyone, and no one’s gonna try and kill us.”
“Until they do.”
“They won’t,” Ren insists. A wave of magic ripples through the server and the sun restarts again, bright blue painting the eastern sky. “They won’t. They’ll all be chill with it.”
“With a leader they didn’t choose?”
“With the good I can do! If they doubt me--then I just show them what I’ve got in mind! They’ll love it.”
They’ll love me.
Ren doesn’t say that last part aloud.
Still, The Red King shares a body and mind with Ren Dog, and hears it nonetheless.
When he speaks again, his voice is low and gentle, so unlike the tyrant Ren first met. It’s more like the being Ren’s gotten used to. The Red King: gentle and timid and willing observer of Hermitcraft through Ren’s eyes.
“And what happens if they don’t? If they object to your coronation? If they try to take your crown? How do you deal with such?”
And Ren doesn’t know. He doesn’t know, and he doesn’t seem to have to say it. He just... stares... As if there’s an answer in the skies of Hermitcraft.
The Red King, kind and patient, gives Ren time to think.
And when it seems he won’t respond...
“The server we ruled last time... It was not this one, pup. It was temporary. It was always meant to end.
“Shall we rule this one, you must lie in bed with the consequences of your every decision for eternity. Are you certain that is something you’d like?”
And Ren doesn’t say yes. He doesn’t respond to the question of morals laid at his feet. He just... stares...
And the Red King of shared mind sighs in contempt.
“Then so be it, Ren Dog.”
And the hound stares out unto his kingdom.

Random rambling thoughts on ✨WISH✨ before the movie comes out
- This movie is for the sleeping beauty girlies… or at least IT HAS TO BE. Any other vibe and I’m gonna be extremely disappointed. It’s already giving medieval European fairytale with gorgeous animation so they can’t fumble this bag. I’m not really sure yet what I expect from the plot but I just need a sleeping beauty energy to it idk idk. I don’t really know what I mean by it cause sleeping beauty is so contradictory in itself, it’s so epic but also so quiet and calm and simple… we’ll see
- This movie is gonna comment on astrology and the horoscope right right??? You cannot do a movie about wishes and stars and not give us a peak into the starry night the characters look upon to and study! If I don’t have a scene of asha discussing constellations then what’s the point 😒 but like even just the aesthetics in the background or something. I need it
- I know everyone knows this movie is set in Spain but the official sources say Iberian peninsula and u bet your ass that, as a portuguese gal, imma remind y’all about it cause we get so little representation while the Spanish get everything well now they’ll have to share 😭😭😭😭😭
- Asha having friends is so anti Disney princess of her 😭😭😭 those other girls only talk to animals. Tiana and Pocahontas are the only girls with a bff and that’s only 1, Asha has 7 😭😭😭 I’m not very impressed with their designs but I guess they can grow on me
- I’m guessing the movie is entirely in the kingdom and it’s nearby places like tangled and sleeping beauty, as opposed to movies like moana or frozen that force them out of their home in a long journey
- Do u guys think the Easter eggs will be subtle or Ralph breaks the internet kind of in your face? Cause disney is making a lot of promises, dozens of Easter eggs right? But I think the in your face crossover will be just for the once upon a studio short, and in the movie the cameos will be more Easter eggs and subtle. (Out of topic but have y’all seen that Lego trailer for the Disney princesses vs Gaston thing? I’m telling y’all rn, disney in gonna give up an official disney animation studios movie of the princesses all together in an adventure before 2040!! IM JUST SAYING!)
- I hope the musical numbers take notes from encanto in the dynamism of we don’t talk about Bruno and dreamlike sequences from surface pressure. I just don’t love when characters are forced to be stuck in reality, it feels very limited. Animation is supposed to break those restrictions. And like, not every musical number has to be like this, but I just want more than a character singing in point A, B and C u know? And I like how, for example, a character would start singing the song and then the 2nd half is a montage? Or like in when will my life begin where she starts singing, but then it’s all montage and she just sings again at the end. (Uncharted waters was a very good song with a very boring scene let’s be honest, and something like that is criminal but it would be even worse in animation)
- I’m really not sure what to expect from the plot and I haven’t really thought a]much about it but rn, if I had to guess, I’d say the movie is about a kingdom that parallels present day USA kkkk hear me out!!! The kingdom had low days of war but fought for independence and began from scratch. This family has magic and can grant people’s wishes and promises the people the equivalent of the American dream. But as generations pass, the king starts collecting more and more wishes without ever intending to grant them to the people or maybe the price of the wishes keeps getting higher. The "American" dream doesn’t exist anymore but people still believe in it cause they are powerless but hopefull. Basically the movie is gonna be about dethroning a tyrant and dismantling capitalism 😃 (look I’m not good with words or brain power but I think u understand what I mean). Maybe the king’s magic is fake, he just knows how to work with the stars own magic while no one else can. And in the end, Asha and her friends are gonna Robin Hood their way into granting the peoples wishes or just make then see that wishing only goes so far as you’re willing to work for your dream??… but like I’m serious, I really think this movie is gonna be a shade to America and is gonna go against everything bob iger represents

Even during the holidays Kingdom doesn’t stop, meaning the protocol can’t either. But this doesn’t prevent Sage and Viper from forcing Liam on a month-long holiday, trying to calm his nerves.
“We’ll call you if you’re needed.”
They wouldn’t. After managing this achievement, never would they bring him in until the month was over. Before he leaves they’ll help him pack, getting him home as quickly as possible. A suitcase and a few other bags were packed and placed on one of the other planes, Liam followed not too much later.
The flight wasn’t terrible but there could be some improvements, maybe it was just him being old. Either way the flight ended soon enough, a few other people were helping take his bags off and onto the porch. Quickly enough the plane was gone, meaning he was now home for a month. One whole month.
Luckily enough it was spent with you. And your dog, an Australian Shepherd. She was the dog you got right after moving in, now her 5th birthday had passed. That didn’t matter though as her energetic phase didn’t seem to slow down, as he could hear her paws hitting the ground.
Opening the door revealed how she slid across the floor, following you across the room. Normally you would be holding treats for her to do it but instead you had an empty box. Placing it onto the table before spinning around, making eye contact with him. Only to sprint towards him, almost sending you both onto the ground.
“Liam!”
The hug was quick, you let go slightly to lean behind him, reaching for something. The star came into his view, now he saw that it wasn’t on the tree.
“Wanna put it on the tree?”
“Why, waiting for me to do it?”
Instead of responding you pulled him towards the tree, seeing everything on it. From tinsel to baubles and other hanging items. Some which were weirdly familiar. A closer look revealed why.
There was a bird, Skye’s bird. Cyphers camera and Gekko’s buddies to name a few. All around showed something from every agent, or resembling them.
“Got gifts before me?”
“Yeah, they were so nice, why don’t you let us meet?”
His only response was a sigh, reaching up to place the star on top.
“Not yet, but why are there boxes everywhere?”
That had you change topics quickly,
“I was going to hang lights around the house, just needed to get the ladder.”
He did see the shed lightly open, the ladder standing next to it. Looking away when he heard the shuffling from the boxes. Seeing you pulling handfuls from it, setting them on your shoulder.
He stepped over to the box, which sat on the table to look inside. You took the chance to get on his back, locking your legs around his waist. Instead of prying you off he just sat his hands on your legs, walking outside to start.
Without his hat on for once giving you the view of his hair, something that had never changed ever since you met him. Also giving you the perfect chance to grab it, taking it. Now having a handful to lean him towards the fence, the other held lights.
“Oi.”
“Let’s start with the fence!”

Hello, have an excerpt from the very silly misc period arranged mrriage Kendall x Stewy fic.

The word of the visit comes not from their father, as they’d always anticipated it might, but Lord Vernon, who delivers the news with characteristically little fanfare.
“The Hosseini’s?” Shiv asks, eyebrow raised as she glances back between her brothers, making no secret of trying to gauge their reactions. Kendall doesn’t look back, doesn’t – can’t – give her that yet, because she’d only see he was as surprised as she was. Not a good look. He rolls his shoulders back, focusing instead on the patient set to his godfather’s face as Shiv adds: “Since when has Dad been interested in the Southern houses anyway?”
“I mean, he married Marcia,” Roman says, and Kendall sends him a sharp look.
“Marcia is loyal to the North,” he corrects, parroting their father, and Roman rolls his eyes, mutters something that sounds a lot like loyal to dad’s wrinkled dick, which Kendall ignores in favour of turning his attention back to his godfather.
“The borders have been wobbling since the last war, you all know that, and the Hosseini’s are a powerful family,” Lord Vernon says with a shrug. “And one gaining territory. There’s been a lot of talk of their expansion into the East – they’ve got favour through the ancient spice routes and they’ve been consolidating along the seaboard for years. A union gives your father access to all of that.”
“And them access to our land, our iron stores, our - - our knowledge hubs, the - - the - - the fucking entire North and West,” Kendall interjects, and Frank makes another vague gesture like what can you do?
“The idea would be mutual benefit.”
“Uh-huh,” Shiv says, standing up from the velvet chaise, her deep emerald gown dragging across the stone floor as she moves to pour herself a drink. “And they have only one son?”
Lord Vernon hums in affirmation.
“Sadeq Hosseini. Crown prince, political and military strategist, he served from behind the line during the last war, but has been pretty focused since on his father’s bid to expand the Hosseini house through trade, tactical partnerships, occasional hostile takeovers. He’s…effective. An asset to his father and his house.”
The word lands heavy, and Kendall’s gaze drops, posture tightening before he can stop it, and it’s nothing, really, it’s not, but also - -
A memory, sharp, sudden.
His dad’s hand, grip firm, nails digging into the back of his neck.
Useless fucking boy.
He swallows.
“So crown prince means - - me, then?” Shiv asks, tone dry, and Kendall looks back up, catches his sister’s pinched look across the cabinet – a room she’d usually be barred from – and his gut loosens. “I’m the one being put forward as match?”
The question isn’t entirely unreasonable. Same-sex marriages aren’t unheard of in any of the kingdoms, particularly in strategic unions, but they’re usually reserved for second or third born children. For the offspring where succession becomes a question merely of personal assets and feelings and doesn’t carry the weight of house, land and title.
Where political partnership is more important than the continuation of a family line.
“While nothing is agreed to yet, we assume they’ll be after a match who can produce heirs, yes,” Lord Vernon says delicately, and Shiv strides forwards, then back, pacing, which honestly, Kendall thinks is a bit fucking dramatic. They all knew this was her path, and she’s still young, yes, but older than most of the girls of her station who’ve already been married off. Their father’s never exactly made a secret of wanting to keep Shiv in the family house for as long as he could, his favourite child, his only daughter and all that shit, but there’s few decisions he won’t make for strategic advantage.
“Shahbanu Siobhan has a certain ring to it,” Roman says, amusement thick in his voice from his position against the mantle. “We’ll visit. Maybe. If you play good wife.”
“Nothing’s agreed to yet,” Shiv bites, then she turns back to Lord Vernon, who only sighs in her general direction, leaving Shiv re-directing her ire at them. “Right? Maybe Dad means to marry one of you two assholes off. Finally get you out of his hair.”
Which - - okay.
Kendall huffs, shaking his head.
“Come on, Shiv.”
And yeah, alright, it was the wrong thing to say probably, given any attempt at implying Shiv was being unreasonable was usually seen as enemy fire. She zeroes in on him, mouth a bow, words an arrow. She shoots from the fucking teeth.
“What’s that? Oh, you think you’re safe, huh, Ken? Why? Connor’s the true heir, it’s his job to make the next little princes, you’re a spare just like me and Rome.”
It lands is the thing, breaks skin, hits bone, and he knows she knew it would, and it takes all he can not to let her see him smart. Still, he can’t quite stop himself from shifting his weight or curling his toes, especially when Roman snorts and chimes in.
“More spare, even,” he adds. “Since Shiv’s got some other house’s prince maker between her legs and I’ve got the good looks and charm kingdoms go to war over. Best I stay unattached, for the sake of peace and shit. You though? You’re ripe to be saddled with the enemy.”

Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix Recap: Beast's Castle (Beauty and the Beast)
We open on Belle in her room, wearing the iconic yellow ballgown as she hums a tune I don’t recognize.
“I hope tonight goes well,” the Wardrobe notes.
“So do I,” Belle replies, “But I wonder why he’s so nervous.”
“The master does have his shy side, you know,” the Wardrobe points out.
Meanwhile, in the Entrance Hall, the Beast is in his iconic blue suit, pacing nervously.
While there is voice acting for the Beast nervously growling…
“Hey there!” a VA-less textbox reads.
The Beast turns to see Sora, Donald, and Goofy walk up.
Donald looks around.
“No Heartless and no Nobodies!” he declares.
“I think they’re close, though…” Goofy remarks.
“Better watch out!” Sora cautions as he folds his hands behind his head.
Beast turns towards the stairs.
In order to continue the story, you must use the “Approach” Reaction Command.
Donald asks what Beast is so mad about.
Beast just wants to know what SDG are doing here.
Sora explains that they’re looking for a way into the Nobodies’ world.
Beast’s just turns his back and “hmphs” in response.
This leads into a fully voice acted cutscene.
Belle descends the stairway.
“Tonight is very important,” Beast explains to SDG, before ascending the stairs to meet Belle in front of the ballroom.
The two link arms and step into the ballroom.
“Uh, maybe we came at a bad time,” Goofy remarks.
“Well, there’s only one way to find out,” Donald replies, before rushing up the stairs.
“Donald!” Sora calls after him, before he and Goofy give chase.
Cut to the ballroom, the camera zooms up to the ceiling, dives through the chandelier, and sweeps over the ballroom to zoom in on Belle and the Beast.
“Now then, Monsieur, Mademoiselle,” Lumiere opens as he stands alongside Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip (not the chipmunk), “Please, enjoy the evening.”
They then notice SDG, Goofy awkwardly waving while Donald folds his hands behind the back of his head.
“And of course, our honored guests are welcome, too,” Lumiere adds.
“A welcome indeed,” Xaldin remarks.
Beast and Belle embrace in fright.
Sora dashes into the middle of the ballroom and looks around, before finding the Nobody in question looking down on the ballroom from the upper level.
“The Organization!” Sora declares.
“You don’t know when to quit,” Xaldin remarks.
“Oh yeah!” Donald replies, “We’ll show you!”
Beast glares at Xaldin.
“Get out!” he roars as he lets go of Belle to run at him.
“Not tonight!” Belle… “Grumbles” doesn’t feel like the right word, but she says that upsettedly.
Xaldin snaps his fingers, and three never-before-seen Nobodies drop in from Corridors of Darkness.
Beast swats them away, but there are two Dusks and three more of the new Nobodies already surrounding him, Sora, Donald, and Goofy.
“I’ve come to take something you hold very dear,” Xaldin announces.
Beast roars in response.
“Yes,” Xaldin remarks as he disappears into a Corridor of Darkness, “Let your anger grow…”
“Beast! We’ve got to get rid of these guys first!” Sora reminds him.
Beast is in his party (wearing his regular outfit, rather than the fancy suit), and you’re given a chance to toggle your party as needed before officially starting the battle.
As implied by the never-before-seen Nobodies, new Nobodies are introduced here: Dragoons.
Dragoons wear dragon-headed hoods (which makes it look as though they have faces on their necks), wings sprouting from their backs, and they also wield lances.
They primarily attack with their lances, occasionally jumping and diving down like a Final Fantasy Dragoon, and a couple of their attacks leave behind white orbs.
These white orbs give the “Learn” Reaction Command, which turns “Attack” into “Jump”.
Jump leads to Sora copying the signature move of the dragoons of Final Fantasy fame, leaping into the air and diving down onto his target, Keyblade first.
You can use Learn to stack up to 10 Jumps. Once you run out of Jumps, “Jump” reverts back to “Attack”.
Very rarely, they’ll drop a “Nobody Lance”, a Staff for Donald. It gives +5 Strength, +5 Magic, and Item Boost.
After the battle, another textbox cutscene:
“Where’s Belle!?” Sora asks.
“Over here!” Belle answers.
She walks in from the balcony, with Lumiere, Mrs. Potts, Chip, and Cogsworth following closely behind her.
“Whew, she’s okay,” Sora notes.
“Guess Xaldin didn’t take anything after all,” Goofy notes.
The Beast visibly gasps and runs out of the room.
“What’s wrong?” Sora asks.
Belle rushes after him.
“Belle?” Sora questions, “What’s with them?”
“Maybe Belle isn’t the only thing precious to the Beast,” Goofy suggests.
“C’mon!” Donald invites.
Beast has left the party.
In order to progress the story, you need to go to the Beast’s Room.
The Beast is pacing angrily. He roars and slams the ground.
“What’s wrong?” Belle asks.
Beast growls and seethes.
“Please, calm down!” Belle begs.
The Beast swipes through the air to shove his cape out of the way, unknowingly swiping close to Belle’s face.
“Calm down?” he snaps, “You just had to have a party, didn’t you? Do you see what’s happened?”
“Hey,” Sora interjects, “What’s with you?”
“The rose…” Beast answers, “My rose…”
The camera cuts over to where the Enchanted Rose once was, only for the rose itself to be gone.
“What, that?” Sora asks, “He took it?”
“But surely, you can find another rose…” Belle replies.
“Silence!” Beast snaps as he swipes through the air (his claws coming pretty close to Sora’s chest), “You don’t know anything!”
Sora jumps between Beast and Belle.
“That’s not fair, Beast,” Sora scolds, “Don’t take it out on Belle! It’s not like she stole it!”
Beast growls and covers his eyes.
“I’m sorry,” Belle replies.
“You don’t have to apologize,” Sora insists.
Beast averts his eyes.
“Belle… Sora…” he opens, much calmer than earlier, “I want you to leave the castle.”
Belle is visibly shocked at that order.
“Look at me. Look,” Beast continues, “This is what I am.
“When you first got here, I tried to change.
“But I was only fooling myself. I can’t be any different.
“I’ll always be a beast. So, I should live like a beast.
“With no one, alone.
“Good-bye, Belle.”
“You can’t mean that…” Belle protests.
Beast tries to meet her gaze, but can’t bring himself too.
“Aw, I think his mind’s all made up,” Goofy whispers into Sora’s ear.
“Yeah,” Sora acknowledges, before turning to Belle, “Look Belle. Leave this to us.
“If we can get the Beast’s rose back, he’ll calm down.”
Belle shoots a sad look over her shoulder, before walking out.
Out in the West Wing, we see Mrs. Potts, Cogsworth, and Lumiere.
“Poor child,” Mrs. Potts remarks.
Belle walks up to the trio, waves, and continues on her way.
“How could it come to this?” Cogsworth wonders.
“And they were so looking forward to this evening…” Lumiere remarks.
“Now, now – no need to be so sad,” Mrs. Potts assures, “Once the rose is back safely, this will all be over.”
Sora asks what’s so special about the rose, and the others explain the extra details for the curse.
Namely, the fact that the Beast has until the last petal falls to love and be loved in return.
As such, the Beast has had to take good care of the rose, and it became a cherished part of his day-to-day life. It’s the embodiment of all his hopes and dreams. As long as that rose is alive, there’s hope that he can regain his humanity.
Sora is now even MORE determined to help the Beast get it back, but also acknowledges that they can’t get it back without the Beast.
“If it’s that important to him, he has to do it himself.”
If you go back into the Beast’s Room, you’ll notice something in the back right corner.
An Absent Silhouette, this one depicting a scythe.
When passing through this one, Sora is transported to a smaller version of the Station to Oblivion, where he fought the Specter.
Petals swirl around the Absent Silhouette until it transforms into Marluxia.
At the start of the battle, Marluxia teleports to Sora’s side and whispers something into his ear.
A number equal to Sora’s current level materializes over his head.
Marluxia has just cast Doom on Sora.
Now, every time Sora is hit, in addition to his HP decreasing, the number above his head will drop by one.
If it drops to zero, Sora will be instantly killed.
Making matters worse, Marluxia has some attacks which will ONLY lead into combos if they hit Sora, meaning that even if you have abilities that’ll keep Sora alive at 1 HP, he can STILL get instakilled by Doom.
Marluxia attacks with his scythe, but can also generate thorny vines, sink into the ground and spin his scythe like a buzzsaw blade to strike Sora, and also create red circles that will produce danger zones that damage anyone standing in them when their insides turn black.
Marluxia’s most powerful attack has him float behind Sora while the lights are dim, firing off fifteen petal geysers consecutively (forcing Sora to keep moving) and then throwing his scythe at Sora as the finishing blow.
Whenever Marluxia rests, Sora can run up to him to use one of two Reaction Commands:
Aerial Strike: Prompted when Sora runs up to Marluxia while he’s resting. Sora attacks Marluxia three times and knocks him back, acting as a finisher.
Restore Count: Prompted when Sora approaches Marluxia’s scythe while he’s resting. Sora steals it, slashes Marluxia with it, knocks him back, and then throws the scythe at Marluxia. This deals no damage to Marluxia, but raises the Doom Counter by 13, allowing Sora to absorb more hits before he’s insta-killed.
When Marluxia is defeated, he reverts back to his Absent Silhouette, which fades into pink petals.
Defeating Marluxia’s Absent Silhouette rewards Sora with +1 Drive Gauge, Donald with +3 Max HP, and Goofy with +3 Max HP. He also leaves behind another “Lost Illusion” synthesis material, and the “Eternal Blossom”, another synthesis recipe.
This allows Sora to synthesize the Full Bloom, an accessory that gives +3 strength and +10 AP. (The upgraded version gives MP haste as well.)
Using the “Persuade” Reaction Command on the Beast continues the story.
“Hey, Beast,” Sora greets.
The Beast groans.
“Leave me alone,” he mopes.
“C’mon, you need to hear this,” Sora continues, “You used to be fearless. You would have given your life to save Belle. Don’t you know what that meant to us? You gave us all courage.
“Hmph, maybe you should have kept some for yourself.
“I mean, are you really gonna throw your happiness away?
“The rose is your only hope, isn’t it? Well, it’s the only hope for Cogsworth and the others, too.
“So, don’t throw away your last chance. Remember what it was like before Belle lived here?”
The Beast looks up, his face hardening into a more determined expression.
“See?” Sora continues, “You can’t give up. Not now.”
“I know one thing,” Beast replies.
“What?” Sora asks.
“This castle belongs to me!” Beast answers as he turns to face Sora, “Xaldin will NEVER be welcome here.”
And it would appear as though I was wrong about Circle of Life being the only mid-Disney world Keyblade, because this rewards Sora with Rumbling Rose.
Rumbling Rose grants +5 Attack, +0 Magic, and Finishing Plus (allows the user to unleash an additional combo finisher after landing a combo finisher).
Reminder: humanoid bosses in this game have Revenge Values which are triggered every few Finishers. Think VERY carefully about what fights you take this Keyblade into.
You also get the Castle Walls Map, granting access to your minimap in the area surrounding the Castle.
Beast rejoins the party.
In order to progress the story, you need to go to the Entrance Hall.
“So Beast… You came after all.” Xaldin comments as he holds the rose, standing atop a windowsill above the doors to the ballroom, “You had me worried. I was afraid you’d given up for good.”
The Beast looks up at Xaldin and growls at his nemesis.
“What do you guys really want?” Sora shouts.
“… Kingdom Hearts,” Xaldin answers.
That shocks Sora.
Xaldin FINALLY lowers his hood, revealing a head covered in black hair, with dreadlocks coming out of both the top of his head AND his sideburns.
“When Kingdom Hearts is ours, we can exist fully and completely.”
Donald lets out a confused quack as he shares a glance with Goofy.
“So you see, Beast – that’s why we need your Heartless AND your Nobody!”
Cue Nobody swarm as “Desire for All That is Lost” plays.
When the last Nobody falls, Xaldin gracefully lands in front of the doors leading out to the courtyard, smirks at the Beast, then waltzes right on out with the rose, closing the door behind him.
I suggest you save before following him.
Sora, Donald, Goofy, and the Beast fan out to look for Xaldin as soon as you exit the castle.
Goofy notices Belle moping up on her balcony, back in her casualwear.
She notices Goofy motioning at her to hide and, remembering that Beast ordered her to leave (even if he seems to have calmed down enough to work with Sora and the others) decides to go back into her room, only to find the rose is also with her on the balcony.
She grins, picks it up and calls down to the others to reveal that she found the rose.
The second Beast notices, Xaldin clamps a hand over Belle’s mouth.
“Belle!” the Beast cries out in horror.
Xaldin, having everything he needs for his plan, leaps from Belle’s balcony and over the walls outside the castle in a single bounc.
The Beast, tired of Xaldin’s game chases after them, SHOVES his way through the siege gates (meant to stand up to BATTERING RAMS) with his shoulder, allowing the party to chase Xaldin out onto the Bridge.
“You!” the Beast growls at Xaldin, “Get out of my castle, now!”
“With pleasure,” Xaldin replies, holding the rose with one arm and Belle with the other, “but I’d rather travel light…
“What shall I leave behind?
“Belle?
“Or the rose?”
The Beast growls and sees the fear on Belle’s face.
“Belle!” he answers, charging at Xaldin in case this is another trick.
Belle, equally sick of Xaldin meddling in her love life, elbows him in the gut, grabs the rose, and runs right past the Beast, Sora, Donald, and Goofy with an audacious grin on her face so it won’t be damaged in the coming brawl.
“Good one, Belle!” Sora cheers.
With Belle safely out of the way, the Beast charges Xaldin and attempts to gore him with a slash of his claws.
Xaldin leaps out of the way, landing further down the bridge.
With a sweep of his arms, he conjures six tornados around himself, and transforms the whirlwinds into lances.
The lances shoot up into the air.
He grabs one into his right hand, two into his left, and lets the remaining three hover in the breeze around him.
Xaldin attacks primarily with thrusts of his lances, Dragoon Jumps, and blasts of wind.
He can shoot a slow-moving ball of air that homes in on Sora.
Very rarely, he can also combine his lances into a draconic mecha, ride atop its head, and fire a sweeping whirlwind beam across the bridge.
However, some of his attacks will give the “Learn” Reaction Command, allowing Sora to stock up “Jumps” to hit Xaldin with.
Be warned, he is invincible while riding his lances.
Additionally, this is another battle the King can save Sora from.
This is by far one of the hardest boss fights in the whole game, so if ANY boss battle will prompt multiple Mickey Mouse rescues, it’ll be this one.
You can also SPAM Learn in this battle for as long as it’s up, and uses MULTIPLE Jumps if necessary. Jump can even be used to dodge Xaldin’s attacks and damage him in turn.
Be warned, he has access to KH1’s version of Aeroga, meaning he can wrap himself in a barrier of pure wind that deals damage on impact.
Defeating Xaldin earns Sora +5 Max HP and a Reflect Element (upgrading “Reflect” into “Reflera”), Donald Auto Healing (heals party members when they are not an active member of the user’s party), Goofy +4 Max HP, and Beast +25 Max HP.
Xaldin’s six lances all stab into the ground in a circle around him and glow as each one evaporates into a beam of light.
Xaldin can only scream as he fades from existence, vanishing into a gust of wind.
Secret Ansem Report 4:
The distant days spent in that beautiful paradise are an illusion to me now.
How long have I been here, banished to the realm of nothingness?
It is only by relying upon my anger and hatred that I have been able to retain my sense of self here where all existence is nullified.
My heart is being overcome with hatred toward my apprentices, possessed by the darkness, and with the anger I feel for stupidly allowing myself to be betrayed.
Is this darkness, eating away at my heart?
I cannot continue to idle away my time here.
What are Xehanort and the others attempting to do?
I must unravel the mystery of these Ansem’s Reports, intercept my apprentices, and defeat them.
That is my mission…the only way to repay the world for my sins.
Those beings who lack hearts—the Heartless—must be the key.
The darkness of the heart, made flesh. Cursed shadows who not only lack hearts, but multiply by seizing hearts from any and all living things.
Where have they come from, and where are they going?
Three elements combine to create a life: a heart, a soul, and a body.
But what of the soul and body left behind when the heart is lost?
When the soul leaves the body, its vessel, life gives way to death, but what about when the heart leaves?
A being does not perish when its heart leaves its body. The heart alone disappears into the darkness.
There is little time.
If I remain in this realm much longer, I will certainly learn these answers the hard way.
My heart is already a captive of the darkness.
Back in the courtyard, Belle returns the rose to the Beast as Sora, Donald, Goofy, Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip look on.
“Here, it’s yours again,” Belle says as she hands it over.
“Belle…” Beast opens.
“I know,” Belle interrupts, “You want me to leave the castle.”
The Beast grunts as the others look on with worried expressions.
“What matters is… You weren’t hurt by Xaldin…” he explains, “You’re safe.”
The others silently urge him to keep talking.
“And… I’m grateful to you…” Beast continues, “for bringing the rose back to me.
“Thank you.”
Belle giggles.
“It’s the least I could do,” she replies, Beast having placed the rose back on the ground and out of the way while it was out of frame, “You’ve been good to me. And you didn’t have to be.”
“Listen, Belle…” Beast opens.
“Yes?” Belle replies.
The Beast awkwardly tries to articulate his response, and then shoots a glance over at the others for guidance.
“Say it!” Sora tells him.
“Go on!” Lumiere adds.
“C’mon!” Donald urges.
“You can do it!” Mrs. Potts encourages.
“We have confidence!” Cogsworth throws in.
“Don’t be bashful, now,” Goofy instructs.
Beast steels his nerves.
“Belle, I’d like you to stay… With me… Please?”
Belle’s face brightens up even more.
She offers her hand, Beast takes it.
“I will.”
The Beast smiles that big, goofy grin that should not be as endearing as it is with all those razor-sharp teeth, but he just looks adorable.
“Maestro – music!” Lumiere calls out.
Belle and the Beast finally get to share that dance as an instrumental version of “Beauty and the Beast” plays. They might not be wearing their iconic outfits from the dance scene, they might not be in the courtyard instead of the ballroom, but they’ve earned this moment.
“Hey, did you see that look on Belle’s face when she grabbed that rose?” Sora asks, his hands folded behind his head as he watches his friends dance.
“Huh?” Donald quacks.
“Yep,” Goofy answers, “she sure was havin’ fun, all right.”
“She is rather unique, isn’t she?” Lumiere remarks.
“Always ready for a little adventure,” Mrs. Potts adds.
“The two of them do seem made for each other,” Cogsworth comments.
“Yeah, they sure do,” Sora agrees.
The camera zooms out from the Beast and Belle as the instrumental fades out.
Beast’s Castle’s story is finally complete.
Back on the world map, Olympus Coliseum finally reappears.
“Hey everybody!” Chip alerts SDG, “I’m picking up a strange reading.”
“Are you sure?” Dale asks, “Let me see!”
“Look – it’s all cloudy and kinda fuzzy,” Chip explains.
“Prob’ly just a glitch,” Dale remarks.
“I don’t know…” Chip comments.
If you fly up to the top of the World Map, past Twilight Town, something is starting to materialize there.

Polar Nights chapters 1 & 2 highlights (spoilers)
I’ve managed to come across the first two chapters of Polar Nights that were apparently posted as temporary previews on Google Books (thanks @antoineharrakblog for sharing them - they were a nice distraction from the terrible IRL news I got today). I wanted to share my thoughts on them and make note of everything that stood out to me. I won’t be posting entire pages but I will share a few excerpts that I especially liked. I wouldn’t say these are major spoilers but they’re definitely spoilers. So be warned...
**SPOILERS INCOMING!**
This first excerpt pretty much establishes that Anna and Elsa see each other often. I also like the mention that Elsa keeps her bedroom in Arendelle (which is in my fanfic as well!)
Based on the following excerpt, I get the impression that the Northuldra got kind of shafted in this story and that their only appearances will be in discussions by other characters rather than in person. I could be wrong though and maybe they’ll return from their journey later in the story. But it’s nice that they’re at least acknowledged, which hasn’t been the case for any of the post-Frozen 2 comics and storybooks so far.
There were some adorable Frohana moments already in just the first two chapters! I especially loved this little exchange.
And the last excerpt I want to mention gives us a short glimpse into what Elsa’s been doing in the forest. Unfortunately the conversation gets cut off but I’m hoping we’ll learn more later in the story (also nice that so far it doesn’t contradict anything in my headcanons, lol).
And here’s a few other things I thought were worth mentioning...
-For some reason I thought the story was going to be in first-person like Dangerous Secrets, but instead it’s in third-person limited (which I think I like better for this particular story)
-The story confirms that Elsa’s birthday is the winter solstice
-Bruni is referred to as “it” instead of being given a gender, which I’m not a fan of. Not sure if this was a Disney higher-ups decision (I could have sworn one of the animators confirmed his gender) but it de-humanizes him in my opinion
-The kingdoms of Vesterland and Chatho are mentioned, as well as Anna’s friendship with Princess Mari
-Mattias has been helping Anna with her duties
-A group of pirates led by a female captain have been hanging around Arendelle’s waters - not sure what role they will play
-Runeard was involved in the story about the draugr
-Chapter 2 ends with Elsa trying to show Anna a memory of their parents using her ice magic, but she’s unable to (most likely from the draugr’s influence). This gives the impression that Elsa has learned to use her magic to show memories anywhere, even if the memory didn’t take place in that exact location

Overall, I enjoyed what I’ve read so far. Mari and Jen did a great job with the Frohana moments in these chapters and I can’t wait to see how it goes when the story gets “darker”!

Four Teams Focused on Games
I’ve got about an hour before I have to leave for work, so let’s make another lore post about some Teams. Just another reminder that the two ships on a team will not be in a bracket together, they will be sent to the opposite sides of the tournament and will only have a chance to go against each other if they make it to the finals.
This time around, it’s...well, teams focused on video games. We have a lot of teams like that, but I’m avoiding any ships with Smash characters this time around for the sake of organization (I’ll likely slap those in their own post later), and Megaman and Pit will probably go somewhere else as well. Pretty straightforward; they feature a main character from Kingdom Hearts alongside a Disney character. Ironically, Jim is the only one here who has yet to actually be in a Kingdom Hearts game (but maybe one day~). I dunno who submitted Aqua and Cinderella, but they’re so real for it.
As for Jim and Sora, that one was an automatic-in from yours truly. They’re just adorable and I’ve seen a lot of art of them that warms my heart (teehee, heart). Maybe one day Sora will actually get yet another significant other in the form of Jim in canon, but for now, t’is but a fan dream.
Team Anime Boys:
Floyd Leech/Kanata Shinkai
Kokichi Ouma/Venti
Gonna be completely honest, this one and the next one were mostly based on vibes, as I know next to nothing about any of the games these boys are from, outside of the Danganronpa series. And I’d be lying if I said Kokichi was one of my favorites. I like him fine, he’s a fun little bastard. But there’s something that just keeps him from being completely hyped about him as a lot of other people get. (Maybe it’s the thing he does in Chapter 4 to my favorite character in the franchise or something 🤔) (It’s not that, I promise, but I’m still sad about it).
That being said, I do know of Twisted Wonderland and Genshin Impact. Ensemble Stars is a total mystery to me, but I know it’s a game so there you go! Either way, the team is composed of a lot of anime boys that I’m sure are gonna get a lot of support!
Also just a fun little fact; Kokichi is participating over in the Nonship tournament alongside Bill Cipher (yet another submission by yours truly). I’m sure nothing bad will come of that friendship! 🙂
Although with the younger Pines Twins being in two ships each, I’m sure we’re bound to spot that triangle bastard sneaking around over here at some points to cause trouble. Especially if a couple of his former Sexyman Tournament Competitors are lingering in the background of things to support someone in this tournament. They probably have much kinder intentions than him, though.
Team Video Game Men:
Alex Mercer/Desmond Miles
Beastman/Lifeweaver
Once again, based on vibes as I know next to nothing about these franchises. Also I realize Beastman isn’t technically a video game man (pretty sure he’s not, but for all I know, there could be a He-Man game with him out there somewhere), but with the remaining three all being from games, I still felt the name was fitting enough.
I will give some credit to Beastman/Lifeweaver, it was one of the most submitted ships out of all 150 submissions. Dunno if it was the same person who submitted it that many times, or if they got their friends involved, but I’m so pleasantly surprised by all the support and propaganda it’s been receiving since submissions closed. It’s making me hope they get pretty far in the tournament just on hype and love from a select few alone!
Or maybe it’s one of those super popular ships that I had no idea was popular until a thousand people crawl out of the woodworks to show up for it. We’ll have to see!
Team Andrew Hussie to Toby Fox Pipeline:
Anne Boonchuy/Nepeta Leijon
Reagan Ridley/Toriel Dreemur
I’m very funny for that name, but also I’ve been a fan of both creators for years now, so I’m a bit biased towards any ship with a character from either franchise. Especially Nepeta, who happens to be my favorite Homestuck character. Toriel...not as high on my list of favorite Undertale characters, but I do like her regardless! Hard not to love Goat Mom (even if you much prefer a certain Goat Dad yourself 😉)
I know less about Inside Out and Amphibia, but both look like pretty enjoyable cartoons that I know I’ll have to check out one of these days. And I know both girlies from each ship look like pretty enjoyable characters (Anne gets points in my book for being voiced by Miss London Tipton herself).
So I know I’m gonna have a soft spot for this team in particular, and I’m hoping they manage to make it far in the tournament!
Speaking of Undertale, however, I do wonder if that means a certain someone (someone who did get submitted a few times in ships of his own, but were inevitably rejected due to the fear of him sweeping the tournament) will make an appearance at some point. Especially with how this tournament has both a Danganronpa character and a Mob Psycho 100 character.
Wonder if that means those who were submitted alongside him will also appear? ...Honestly, no promises but we’ll see what happens.

Ostensibly Nintendo plans to make BotW/TotK the default Zelda style going forward, which while I love these games, is bad news for me because I prefer the 2D Zelda games
How many variations and alterations can they make to Hyrule in order to make reexploring it consistently fun? Sure, TotK has a vague feeling of nostalgic familiarity because it’s been over six years since I played BotW and there’s just enough changed about the terrain that there’s also a sense of unfamiliarity, but what if I’d just played BotW last month to prepare for TotK?
And how long will there be between TotK and the next one? Will the next one follow the same Link, or a new incarnation of the Hero?
I was talking to my wife about this, and she suggested that there’s nothing stopping Nintendo from revisiting Links we’ve already seen, just like they did with Wind Waker Link in Phantom Hourglass after there’d been like three new Links already. From there, I realized that there is at least one way to redo Hyrule that would be sufficiently different while also playing on one’s familiarity with it: exploring the sunken Hyrule of Wind Waker, like combining Zelda with Subnautica. I’m not sure how much mileage one could get out of that since canonically there are no Zora or other sentient creatures underwater after the Great Flood, but maybe this could be long after the events of Wind Waker and the non-Rito-fied Zora have returned to Hyrule
Alternatively, I suppose we could see a fully rebuilt and arguably industrialized Hyrule; needing to navigate populated cities rather than dilapidated ruins and slowly rebuilding towns would definitely be a new experience contextually while also showing how the kingdom has recovered, but where do you really go from there?
Lorule? The Dark World? While seeing a corrupted version of Hyrule could be neat, the post-Calamity devastation doesn’t really make for a very good contrast, not to mention the fact that Lorule was restored at the end of LBW and the Dark World was turned back into the Sacred Realm at the end of LttP. Still, if we do journey through Lorule, that’s an opportunity for Ravio to get a game, I suppose. Not that they’d ever give us that
Other than that, I think the best bet is to just go to new kingdoms entirely. Seeing the structure of the Twilight Realm as its meant to be would be much appreciated, and I certainly wouldn’t object to seeing more of New Hyrule now that the Spirit Tracks are back in order
What I’d REALLY like to see, though, are Holodrum and Labrynna. They’re much more likely to just do a straight remake of the Oracle games like Link’s Awakening, but if I got to ride Ricky and bump into my girl Maple in 3D? I’d go NUTS
But most likely they’ll create new kingdoms after they run out of ideas for Hyrule itself rather than revisiting and expanding old ideas. Maybe if we’re lucky we’ll get to meet new races and villains
Either way, I’d prefer that they alternate between 2D, classic 3D and open-world Zeldas, but as it stands it looks like Zelda’s going the way of Sonic: sticking with one formula for x-number of years, jumping to a new one for the next few years until it gets stale and they find something else, and revisiting the classic style every once in a while

Recent Social Media Odds and Ends

Also, Gimple has been nostalgia posting on twitter a lot lately, talking about how he got his start on the show and about the end. He posted this tweet which I don’t think is any sort of smoking gun but it just reminded me of one of the most mysterious quotes of the entire show, which is when Sasha says, “We don’t die.”
In those big moments for Rick, the quotes seem to be teaching him something. Shane gives Rick strength by talking about Judith and loyalty and inspiring in him the darker side of survival where things get done. Shane is interesting as the anti-Rick but the most compelling message comes from what he says about the Third Man. “There was a third man,” which he says “changed everything.” Then, Hershel assures Rick that he doesn’t need to worry about Maggie, that he knows it’s been hard, but doesn’t need to worry because “We’ll get there. All of us.”
After that, it’s Sasha who delivers the final message: “We don’t die.” I don’t know why it’s Sasha. But it is. All the messages seem to be telling us not to worry, but to pay attention, because there’s something at work that we don’t see, and it will change everything (the CRM). But they’re also telling us that everybody is still alive? In some way. It is a message about the kingdom of Heaven, God’s house, just like Gabriel’s sermon in WHAWGO, which is also about that which goes unseen. Idk the messages just seem to be about a reunion. Or telling Rick that this is all some sort of illusion. That they’ll all be together again someday, or that they never were actually apart? It’s so mysterious.

Also I am once again thinking about Blair/Gina and morphic resonance. Like that there are multiple “tries” at work here, multiple threads of reality under the surface. In one of those threads they’re all still alive and together. They get the happy ending because they make the right choices. It’s what WHAWGO is all about. Martin tells us that our choices matter. He doesn’t get enough credit for that.
Bob seems to represent fate (It happened because it had to, because it was always going to), Martin represents free will (maybe if you’d made better choices, Beth would still be alive), and the Governor represents karma (you have to pay the bill). It’s sort of like A Christmas Carol, in which Tyreese sees the ghosts of the past, present, and future. Beth and the girls just represent temptation, ie: “It’s okay, Tyreese. It’s better now.” Innocence achieved through death, a clean slate, an indication that if you die, it will all just go away.
Idk where I’m going with this. It’s just ideas.
A Christmas Carol is also about getting a do-over, and alternate realities and causal loops.

Also, I’ve been following the AMC account that has been counting down the top episodes. I’ve wondered what their number 1 would be. I didn’t really expect it to be Coda or anything super Beth related, but they went with 9x05: What Comes After, when Rick leaves.
That seems very strategic to me. Like, it’s less the “best” episode of the series (even though it was definitely a very good one) and was probably chosen more to kick us into the CRM storyline.
Also, let’s remember that Emily’s voice is in that episode, but she’s not identified as Beth but as a weirdly mysterious “woman.” And of course we also see her lying not far from Daryl in Rick’s dream, with blood on her arm. So, it feels significant that they chose that episode.

People are sending me this on IG. This video was posted by the official AMC account about 6 hours ago. I’m not sure if it’s the one I sent you above, but they’ve posted a whole bunch of montage videos today. For this one; it has lots of stuff in it. Not just Bethyl. But they used Daryl carrying Beth as the thumbnail that shows in the wall.
Hint: IG will pick a default image to the be the thumbnail of the poster doesn’t pick one, but it always asks you specifically if you want to pick one. Which means either way they specifically picked or agreed to using this as the thumbnail. I’m just saying.
Next, @katkhaos posted an interview Norman gave to Vanity Fair in the group. You should both read it when you get a chance. Lotss of good stuff in it. But here are some things that jumped out at me. First, Norman uses the term "coda," which is always nice to see. He's talking about the Rick and Michonne bit of the finale, but still.
Next, I really loved this, even though it's not particularly TD. He talks about a small, angry group of people who are convinced he and the other actors and AMC are lying about why Melissa is not in the spinoff. He says they're simply wrong. But it also shows that they know these are just the outliers, not most of the fandom. That's nice to have confirmation on.
Finally, what Kat points to in the group is that he zeros in on the line Judith says about Daryl deserving a happy ending. He says that, more than any other line in the show, will lead into the spinoff. Honestly, Gals, I've wondered a bit if the spinoff will truly be about Beth. Not that I'm doubting her return, but rather I'm just wondering if the spinoff will be about something small and then we'll get Beth at the very end, and have to wait until the next thing to get their story or something. But this definitely shows that the spinoff will be about Daryl's "happy ending," and we all know that will include Beth. ;D

Let’s hope they continue to go for it! I’ve been thinking about Rick/Silas parallels and how the actor who plays Silas jokingly suggested we would see Rick in the TWB finale. I can’t help but wonder now if it was less a deceptive tease and more a hint. Like maybe the TWB actors already knew more about the Rick/Silas parallels than the GA does. No way to know either way, but it seems really convenient for him to have said that, with what we know now.

I know that I have told you before that I sometimes play the Walking Dead Slots game. I believe I have even shared something similar before. In the game, they have a mini game featuring characters from the show that you can level up and send on missions to get free coins. They call the different collection of characters “seasons”, each of them have a cohesive theme, and each season lasts a couple of months.
Beth was included in a season before that was themed for the farm. It has been a while since she has been included in the mini game because they focused on the Whisperers, Alexandria, and some other themes, but she is in the latest season (which has been going on a few month’s, I have just been a little absent minded in sharing it).
So Beth is currently in a character collection called “Fallen Heroes”. The funny thing about it is, not all the characters in it are “fallen”. The characters included are mostly characters that there is no doubt about being dead. They were very very dead the last time we encountered them. There is Glenn, Abraham, Carl, Enid, Jesus, and Hershel.
Then there is Beth. She of course is in a grey area since we didn’t see her in a very dead state or buried like we saw the other characters. The final “Fallen” character they included is Rick, and Rick is very much alive. I just thought that this might be of some interest to you. I have some screenshots to share, but I don’t play enough to have all their characters leveled up (although you can tell who they are in the silhouette that is there).”

I just think it's a super cool clue that in the Fallen Heroes group, all of them are very obviously dead and could not possibly come back, except Rick and Beth. And Rick is very clearly alive. Yet another clue to Beth's survival. That's all. ;D

Loved this. All of these small hints/clues that keeps Beth's character front and center to a smaller to diverse TWD audience. I would never have seen this because I'm not a gamer. Gamers are an area that they're covering bringing in that fraction of the fans.

I'm going to start off with something that has just been replaying in my mind since I read it the other day. I'll give you the whole little sections of question and answer from Gimple instead of just what I zeroed in on.
It's the last paragraph that stood out to me. They're talking about announcing early with the spin-offs and how Jeffrey was very upset about it. Gimple is saying that because so many people have seen Lauren and Jeffrey filming in New Jersey that people would have known about it anyway but then he goes on to say he would have been crazy enough to announce that it was going to be a sitcom between the two.
What struck me is that he's actually admitting to lying about a certain story lines in order to keep what's going on on the down low. I realize we've known this for a long time or suspected greatly that he bends the truth to fit how he wants things to be presented or hidden but here we have him actually saying that's what he would have done if not for that fact it had already been announced.

This explains a lot about the people seeing older characters during filming. It also may explain why there was reportedly a script called Atlanta.

Interesting. Personally I don’t like massive time jumps so I’m glad they didn’t do that. Just my opinion. Ofc I’m also glad the story isn’t over, and in a way, I feel they was perhaps why the shows ending felt strange. Because it isn’t over? It’s unclear which aspects will go away and which will continue to develop, especially outside the characters who we know will be in spin-offs.
I get they wanted to do the show justice with an appropriate emotional ending, but I feel as if it opened more doors and asked more questions than it answered.
Like Judith telling Daryl he deserves a happy ending, Daryl leaving, Negan just wandering off, etc.

This is all super interesting! Thanks for sharing it. I agree about Gimple bending the truth. We've known that for a long time, but it's nice to have some confirmation we can point to.
It reminded me of the way they originally marketed the Carol/Daryl spinoff, calling it a "road trip" show. For me, I think that was a hint that Carol and Daryl would leave together to find Beth, like they did in S5. That's what they originally planned, but of course it has changed now since MMB backed out. But I think the "road trip" thing was exactly this. It was Gimple being satirical, as he would have been had he announced that the Maggie/Negan spinoff was a sitcom.
I've said this before, but Gimple doesn't have the best comic timing. I think it makes him lovably nerdy, but it also means that sometimes, when he makes jokes--such as on TTD--they don't entirely land. And I think this is a similar thing. He'll say something tongue-in-cheek about some part of TWDU, but people have a hard time telling when he's being serious and when he's teasing them.
I mean, they keep saying the spinoff will have a very different tone from the main show. And of course it will. How can it not, given that it's in France and deals with different characters than we've seen before (other than Daryl)? But that doesn't mean it will stop being TWD. Every episode of Tales had a different tone than the main show, but it's still very recognizable as TWD.
Anyway. As for the second article, I agree with you both. I'm glad they didn't go with that ending. For me, it would have been somewhat deceptive to viewers. We would have seen the grown kids, and most people would have assumed that Daryl, Rick, and Michonne never made it back to them.
They shouldn't assume that. As 20-somethings, the kids could be out on their own looking for survivors, and Rick and Michonne and everyone could be back at Alexandria waiting for them. No reason to think all the adults didn't make it back only a few months after Daryl left. And that ending by no means suggests anything would have changed in the spinoffs and the way they're expanding the universe. It only would have suggested that the kids survive into adulthood, so anytime they're in danger in the show, we'd know they will be fine, lol.
But if it didn't specifically show the adults returning, you know plenty of people would have assumed that and been up in arms about it. There would have been a lot of resulting drama in the fandom. So again, I too am glad they didn't go that route.

Hidden Sisters, Chapter 12

“You’re really good with her, you know.”
Jennifer gave Nick a soft smile and continued to tuck the tired water nymph away into her bed. His heart melted as he looked at the scene unfolding in front of him, and the future it made him feel like he was going to have with her by his side. She gave a sad sigh as she brushed some of the coils from her face, her mind elsewhere, “it makes me miss my little sisters…they-they’re a lot like Nadia…”
“Yeah…”
“Yeah,” she sighed sadly. She sat on the edge of the bed beside her and just watched her, “I know Nadia is a little bit older than them, but she’s so…innocent…she hasn’t seen the world and neither have they…it just feels all too familiar…I want to protect her from all of the darkness in it…”
“The world is a scary place,” Nick said simply from his spot at her door, agreeing with his mate, “and Nadia is a gentle soul…she doesn’t need to see the outside world. It would only destroy that innocence.”
“I don’t know…” she shrugged, “I mean…she’s stronger than you give her credit for…there’s a fight there that no one could take away from her. I can feel it.”
“Do you ever worry about your sisters?” Nick asked after a moment in his attempt to change the subject.
“What do you mean?”
“Do you ever worry about how they’re getting along without you? I mean…they’ve never met your brother before he and his husband took them in…” Nick trailed off, “do you think that maybe they should have just come with us? I mean…they know you. You would have been a comfort to them.”
“I trust Jake,” she said quickly, “I mean…I may not have grown up with him, but he’s still my twin. I still trust him with our sisters. They’ll be safe. I can feel it in my gut…he’s got pups of his own and he and Ransom seem like good men.”
“That’s not what I mean…” She raised her brow, and he frowned, “I just…seeing you like this with Nadia…you’re very maternal…it reminds me of what a proper family should be like…nymphs aren’t like this with their mates if they’re with other nymphs…other creatures bring out the softness in us.”
She gave him a sad smile and looked back to Nadia to make sure she was asleep, “yeah…I guess I am…but you’re plenty protective of Nadia. You make sure that she’s safe within your kingdom. You take care of and provide for her. You’re very paternal yourself, Nick.”
“Do you want nymphs?”
“Nymphs?”
“You know…I’m a fire nymph…well…partly…and part water nymph…” he said slowly, “if we…were to consummate our marriage once it happens…”
“Who said we’d have nymphs,” she teased, her arms crossing in defiance, “maybe we’d have pups.”
This made Nick raise his brow, “pups?”
“Bet you never thought you’d say those words…fire and water nymph,” she teased lightly, giving him a sweet look, “I bet you wouldn’t know the first thing to do when it came to raising a pup…they’re much different from nymphs.”
He smiled at her gentle teasing, “I have not.”
She stood from her spot at the side of the bed and took a few steps towards him. His arms instinctively reached out and went around her waist, pulling her closer to himself, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. The air seemed to feel heavier, and his eyes fluttered closed as her lips grazed over his, “we shouldn’t talk about this while we’re tucking your sister in….Nick…”
“I mean…seeing you this maternal does make me a bit hot under the collar,” he teased, winking at her. She blushed, feeling his body warming up beneath her fingers, “you’re right though…we should take this back to our room…future wife.”
“Oh…is that so…future husband?”
“And we should definitely discuss the topic of how many nymphs I can convince you to give me, jus-“
“Pups,” she smirked, biting her lip playfully as she disengaged from him and walked him out of the room. Her hand reached behind herself, letting go of Nick long enough to pull the door closed behind her, “pups, Nick…”
“We’ll see about that,” he teased gently as his lips brushed her own. A shiver ran down her spine and her wolf rumbled, the vibrations making him smile even more against her lips, “why do I get the feeling that I can sway your opinion?”
“Only one way to find out!”
“Don’t you dare look at me like that.”
Nick frowned at the tone that Jennifer took with him. He took a step forward, but she instantly took two back and held out her hands towards him, “you’re pregnant with our hatchlings…our own little nymphs, mate.”
The word seemed to fall so easily from his lips, but it left a bitter taste in Jennifer’s mouth just hearing it. The disgust in how he had acted in the past week alone making bile rise to the back of her throat as she took yet another step away from him, putting even more distance between them, “don’t call me that.”
Nick frowned, “it’s what you are. You’re my mate. My future wife. The future queen, Jennifer…and now-y-you’re pregnant with our-“
“Don’t you dare finish that sentence.”
“Why?” he growled, “are you angry that you’re pregnant with our children now when not too long ago we were purposeful in what we wanted, huh? How I pinned you in a mating press and emptied myself into you…how you rode me, night after night, begging me to spill into you again and again and again!”
“I agreed to marry you because of my sisters…our sexual chemistry isn't up for debate. I-”
“You agreed to sleep with me because we love each other…” he frowned, quick at cutting her off, “I thought we were past this. We’re going to be parents and you’re back to hating me when we should be celebrating!”
“Not even five minutes ago you hurled a fireball at me,” she reminded him angrily, “what would have happened to me if I wasn’t pregnant? You would have turned me to ashes without a second thought, NICK!”
“That’s not true!”
“Isn’t it?” she quizzed him, “you’re saying that I wouldn’t have burned up? I could feel the heat of it, Nick.”
“But you’re a-“
“I’m not a fire nymph,” she reminded him, “I’m a wolf. A shifter. That would have hurt me!”
Nick became quiet, unable to argue with her. He knew that she wasn’t wrong. His fire would have nipped at her, but he didn’t want to admit it aloud. The fireball was a quick reaction, one that he knew he shouldn’t have had, but his nerves were fried from earlier.
He regretted it the second that it had happened.
But it wasn’t just an insult.
It was an action.
One that could have taken the life of his mate without a thought behind it.
“NICK!”
His eyes shot to hers and he sighed. She shook her head at him, “We’re not together…”

While I’m waiting to see if tumblr did something to fuck up my theme & if they’ll fix it or not, I’m also considering changing the world map... again. Which, to be fair, I’ve only ever fully changed the world map once, & that’s because I found a free map editor so I wasn’t stuck with the original one I made on paint(even when I added Chrysan, I did not have to change the map, I just grabbed an island that already existed on it & made it it’s own country).
There are a few reasons I want to do this:
I want to make the layout of Camellia’s states better. Right now it looks kind of like a mess that’s been mashed together. In general it looks sloppy. And as the main setting & kingdom, I want to fix that, along with serval other things I want to fix about Camellia, like the Royal Castle, I want to change that as well.
I want to change how the Eastern continent looks. After talking about it with a few friends, it’s come to my realization that it has been made incorrectly! The Lareryth Empire is supposed to be the biggest country on that continent, but instead Jailiam is. And while I still think Jailiam should be huge given all the tribes, Lareryth should be bigger then it as originally planned(otherwise it would not just be called ‘The Eastern Empire’). I also might change around the monarchy system just slightly(so it more befits an ‘Empire’ rather then a ‘Kingdom’), but nothing major. I also want to change Chrysan a bit, make it a little bit more then just a small island, so it has a bit of grounds on the landmass as well.
And lastly, I want to change one of the countries drastically. It’s one of the nations that has been is perma limbo for a long time, & instead of just making a whole new kingdom, it might be better for me to just replace it with this better & more thought out country instead.
Yeah so, those are my reasons, big changes coming soon. Along with maybe a new theme. We’ll see how this turns out.
