okay so my mari/kristi/kenny thoughts !! s2e7 spoilers

god i never wanted to give a fictional character a hug and a break as much as i do kenny. rewatching s1 reminded me that this is the guy that was already on the edge BEFORE he actually lost his dad. the night before finding his dad ripped apart by the night creatures he actually said "i can't find any more dead bodies", talking about lauren and megan. and the day AFTER finding his dad ripped apart by those creatures he has to babysit a guy he hates so he won't get himself killed because he thinks it's all a fucking escape room. this is how things START OUT for kenny and they just get worse from there. in s1 at least he had kristi. they were so cute guys. the way they hug and were there for each other... damn. that's a precious pair if i've ever seen one. and he had boyd. he had his trust in boyd. we know how that went.

now he's just like. how much more can one poor sweet bean lose? i was happy to see him and kristi finally talk but it hurt how that went. kristi was disappointed that mari being back changed things between her and kenny, and i get it, but how could it not? marielle got all her attention from the moment she arrived, and that's completely normal, but kenny has obviously been missing the comfort of their relationship (be it romantically or platonically—they've barely interacted since marielle got there).

the way he's desperately trying to keep kristi from putting herself in danger after all the deaths he's already seen... imo he's being completely reasonable. what she and boyd were doing was so dangerous, i think i would have acted like kenny even when i think that kristi was right to want to do the autopsy. the fact that he showed up to help in the end... my heart is so full. heart full of kenny. that's me rn. but i feel really bad for him because i feel like his network of support is definitely shrinking. most of the characters have made new connections since the start of s1 while kenny is more like desperately trying not to lose all of what he originally had and failing.

hell, even the most antisocial characters are making new meaningful connections. kenny is just losing everything. he needs people to lean on because right now i feel like he's just giving a lot more than he's receiving. he's holding on to kristi and boyd when they're not making him a priority and it hurts me. at least he has his mom but :'( it all just hurts. the way everyone stared at him when he broke sara's snowglobe too like he was a bad guy... protect my boy. protect him. he needs all the love help and hugs okay? okay???? good.

now as for mari—i really do like mari. i think she's in a really bad place rn and i'm glad that they addressed that kristi didn't realise that she was going through withdrawal which is a very serious medical situation. it was really sweet to see kristi comforting her but i feel like the relationship is kind of uneven. mari seems to feel bad that kristi needs to take care of her and i get her. kenny and kristi felt more like mutual support but then again, we are seeing mari at her lowest point. she's helping out a lot actually even in her state and that's pretty badass. i think she also can probably benefit from connecting with other people, though she's just got here so it makes sense that she's always with kristi. maybe she and jade can be buddies later on. i know what you're thinking—you can't just throw jade at people thinking that'll fix them. well i can and i will, dear reader. i can and i will.

I guess I'll explain them..woo..

Cemi:

He came to Snaktooth Island because he was dragged there by his older sister

He's not a well known icon, but he's known for his modeling gigs

He gets crushes pretty easily and gets upset when they don't like him back

Even though he looks like he would never hurt anyone, he could hurt anyone and will do it

He's really good at hiding and publicly speaking

When he first stepped on the island, he met Eggabell and fell in love with her

Then he met Triffany and fell in love with her, then Wiggle, and lastly Floofty

He doesn't like his sister because she spends time with Floofty

He doesn't like Chandlo(he got confused and thought he was dating Floofty) or Gramble because they have a thing for his crushes

He covers his left eye due to incident with a wild animal but his sister took most of the fall for him

His hut is right beside his sister's hut which is near the woods

In town, he's known as a bit of a stalker

He's relatively popular despite him acting shy which might add to his "coolness" but that's up to perceptive

Beffica made him a bracelet and he always keeps it on

Even though Lizbert's with Eggabell, Cemi doesn't hate her along with Wambus

He goes out at night to..do whatever he wants

You meet him in the desert where he's stalking helping Triffany

Charlia:

She came to Snaktooth Island because she wanted to study the snaxs and get away from the city

She took a liking towards Floofty and Snorpy since they're siblings and she just so happened to bring her younger brother with her

Her and Floofty get along due to their fascination of the bugsnax and both missing their limbs

She uses a prosthetic arm due to an incident that happened when she was younger

Amly tried stealing her arm and now Charlia always keeps it on her no matter what

You find her in the Sugerpines not near Chandlo or Snorpy but closer towards the mountain

Sometimes, she lifts Cemi into the air because he's light weight and because she thinks it's cute when he tries to get out her grasp

If someone is older then her, then she'll refer to them as a Miss, Mr, Mrs, and Mx

Snorpy fixes her arm when it's broken or just isn't working

Lizbert sometimes invites her on expeditions that way Charlia can grab some test subjects

She doesn't eat the snax, seeing them as..gross but she thinks that of anything she consumes

The experiments she does aren't harsh like Floofty's but it still involves scalpels and jars of unused parts

Besides doing experiments, she really good at sports mainly basketball and football

He noticed right away, he has that eye for when his loved ones are in distress

and he'd become strict with you just like he'd do with the boys if they weren't treating themselves well

you're no different in fact it might be a little worse in terms of his constant demand that you eat better.

At first he'd ask what is causing you to miss meals however once you exclaimed it being the smart man he Is he'd buy you some snacks,

things that'll be small but no too much just to keep you energized and filled up just until you'd be ready for a real meal.

"Just eat this for now it'll hold you over a little til you're ready for something more."

Seonghwa:

Mommy mode as expected, he's not one to pick and bicker he wants you to come to him

but there comes a time where he has to be the one to bring it up simply because he's worried but also wants to know if he's overreacting.

When you tell him you missed a meal or two simply because stress makes you lose your appetite he just makes some small but satisfying dishes and putd them up in case you get hungry,

he constantly, if he can, checks and see if you've eaten anything he's fixed if not he'll advise you to at least try

and if still nothing appeals to your stomach he'll just try again when he's actually with you.

Yunho:

If you refuse to eat because of stress he might try to force you to eat immediately trying to level with you giving ultimatums like,

if you don't at least try to eat he won't speak to you til you do, all he wants for you is try something,

even if it's just a spoonful of ceral he's fine with baby steps but absolutely no eating? Not gonna work, he wants you in your best health

even if it's a little something it could lead to something more ,

he's not trying to be harsh it's tough love but not too tough.

Definitely tries to be delicate about it when he asks if you've eaten and you inform him that you haven't had a single grain of anything all day because you've been stressed trying to figure things out and since you haven't you've deprived yourself of food without knowing.

He'd be sad wondering how to tell you that you should Eat without upsetting you.

He's a sweetheart and adores every bit of you which means he kind of panics if you haven't eaten and argues with himself on if he should just leave you be or say something ,

in the end he knows you'd be concerned about him if the roles were reversed plus he'd never want to seem like he doesn't care

so he delicately suggest that you eat something even if it's just a bit of something.

"I'm only suggesting you try to put something on your stomach I'm not going to force you to, but I hope you do try to eat."

San:

He's all ears when you say you're stressed and haven't been eating daily like you should,

he wants to hear what lead you to be so hasty about your eating habits.

Once you open up to tell him he's open about his advice on possible solutions and makes a deal that helps the both of you,

he negotiates with you like Yunho except his way of getting you to eat is less of an ultimatum and more of a Win Win situation for the both you, it'll work because he's persuasive and kind it makes you feel relieved and with less stress on your shoulders

there's more room in your stomach for food, you both are at ease after that. "How about this, you tell me from now on things that are affecting you negatively,

"I'll do my best to help and you eat whatever you have room for?"

Mingi:

He wants to help you release stress and eat so he does his best to do both, he offers you a chance to rant to him

or he'd offer a massage, cuddling also, but over some delicious appetizers, or maybe something like an Apple, small.

He's getting you to talk and eat a little bit whatever it takes to get you to be more easy on yourself and get you your much needed snack or meal,

it works because you get all you need and so does he which is a peaceful more energized you,

he feels accomplished in the boyfriend department for sure and will use this method often as long as you eat and relieve the built up stress.

"Okay, tell me what's working your nerves but let's do this while eating a little snack, yeah?"

Wooyoung:

He's going to take care of you, he's going to notice your distressed state after a while and when you tell him he will not be having it.

He'll offer his ears, no advice unless you ask for it but his ears are one hundred percent yours when you need them, he wants to hold you nestled together and feeds you something,

whatever you want just ready to listen to whatever it Is that's making you sad In the slightest he wants you to know that he'll take care of you if you need him to and listen to you intently .

He's there to comfort you and feed you. Also, he wouldn't mind if you fed him too because it could turn into both of your ways to feel at ease just the both of you In each others embrace talking and eating,

what better thing is there to do as a couple?

Might scold you a bit for allowing yourself to feel overwhelmed and not eating he just loves you so much he wouldn't want anything to happen to you

He's going to do his best to listen to you as long as it takes until you have an appetite and no burdens on your shoulders just like Wooyoung would do. Your mental and physical health matter to him and he wants you to know it.
