a/n this will be the first ever fanfiction that i will write for the fandom ;) i hope its good. likes, comments, reblogs and feedbacks are highly appreciated <3

"hyung, did you see that?" sehun whispered to suho, his eyes not leaving the smiling baekhyun. for the past few minutes, baekhyun had been smiling like an idiot. sehun thought that his smile looks silly. because he looked like someone who's in love.

the other members joined in and watched him discreetly (obviously). the constant glances that they threw however, goes by unnoticed. they wondered what he was doing that got him so engrossed at the phone's screen.

they took note, eyes met whenever they see baekhyung chuckling or blushing slightly. everything was going well until suddenly, chanyeol gave up. "okay, what's so interesting to the point that you're smiling at your phone like an idiot?" chanyeol huffed.

caught off guard, he immediately turned his phone off and put it away. "n-nothing! it was just a funny youtube video," he quickly looked away. "if it's a funny video, then why won't you show it to us?" xiumin butts in. he quickly got up from his seat. "you guys are nosy," he feigned annoyance. they knew that he didn't actually mean it.

because they could see the way his ears turned red as he walked away.

"who do you think is it?" sehun asked, looking at his hyung impatiently. "maybe it was the female idol that he met at the last award show?" suho inquire. "hmm... maybe,"

baekhyun plopped down on his bed, slightly out of breath despite only walking back to his room. his bandmates suspicion made his heart beats fast. he tried as hard as he can to keep you a secret. but then again. why would he need to keep you a secret? it wasn't like he's doing anything wrong. he likes you and you like him too.

the constant buzz from his phone snapped him out of his thoughts. he looked at the notification and realized that you left him multiple text. he smiled slightly, realizing that you were probably worried as he didn't say anything before turning his phone off earlier.

he quickly picked up the call and smiled. "hey," he greeted you nervously. "hey," you greeted him back and get comfortable in your bed. "i don't mind, you know?" you started.

slightly confused, he asked you what you had meant. "i don't mind if people know," you continued, your voice trembling slightly because of the nerve. "in fact, i would like it better if i could show the world that i'm dating you. it's a flex you know?" you hit your lip, trying to suppress your smile.

he was speechless for a moment. before he let out a small chuckle. "i thought it was just me. turns out i was being nervous for no reason," he smiled, turning on his side to get more comfortable. "do you think we should tease the fans?" he asked in a mischievous tone. "as long as you're with me, i don't mind,"

after a few more days of hiding his relationship with you, he was finally ready to tell his bandmates. they were his family after all. they deserve to know.

"oh, we kinda figured it out already," chanyeol shrugged while jongin's mouth were agaped. "huh? you've got a girlfriend?! when???"

the others took turn to tease jongin for being clueless. baekhyun were relieved to see that his bandmates were accepting of his relationship. he wasn't actually worried that they won't accept you. because they would, no matter what.

baekhyun took you out on a date after that. both of you weren't exactly hiding your faces. he was only wearing a cap. and you too. all the while holding each others hand as you walked around in public.

you could smell the videos and pictures that would be up online by now and rumors about you two being together. it was exactly what you had wanted, so you didn't mind.

"i heard that there was a great cafe around here. i want to take you there," he said softly, squeezing your hand slightly. "let's go then," you smiled.

you take your seat by the window after ordering your coffee. "the pastries look so good..." you groaned. "why didn't you order them?" he asked softly, his hand holding yours on top of the table. "i'm on a diet. it's because of our next concert," you pouted. "well, i'll treat you to it. and you can't reject it," he smirked.

"it's fine if you treat yourself once in a while. i know that you haven't been eating anything sweet for a while now," he said softly as the waiter put the pastry in front of you. "i promise i won't tell anyone," he smiled cheekily.

you snorted before taking a bite of the cream puff. "it's really good..." you groaned.

as the two of you enjoy your date, you didn't even notice the constant shuttering noise from a camera.

after your date, both of you took a walk at the park. it was already dark and there was only the two of you. his hand were clasps with yours, not willing to let you go just yet. you walked side by side in silence. it wasn't because he doesn't want to talk to you. it was just that there was no words to say. and it was fine. the silence were comfortable. it engulf you with warmness and aware of his every movement.

and both of you were already happy with that. despite the fact that the internet had been filled with pictures of you two out on a date. you didn't mind. as long as you have each other. that was enough.

Exo reaction making their s/o cry??

xiumin: i think he doesn't care at first. like, when he looks at you and sees your eyes tearing up he wouldn't be that fazed. he would bother though as the tears starts to fall, the expression on your face telling him he had gone too far. his heart falters, and he sighs because he knows he screw up. minseok might not apologize right away, but he'll do it the next morning or something, just give him time to also process his feelings.

suho: this is kinda tricky. junmyeon can either react by giving you the cold shoulder and letting you cry because you also hurted him (and he might cry himself), or by pulling you to his chest as soon as the tears starts falling and apologizing straight away. i think it depends on what's the reason why he made you cry - was it something stupid he said? he will apologize in a heartbeat. was it because of an argument that you two had and he still thinks you're being unreasonable? he will let you cry, sorry.

lay: "please, stop crying" is the first thing ypu hear once your eyes get wet - not because yixing is mad at you or anything, but because he can't stand the sight of you crying. it doesn't matter the reason, if you two were fighting, even if he's right about the argument; he hates seeing you cry, and the moment he does, it's all gone for him. he even forgets what he was going to say, what his point was, whatever. can't tell which one is hurting the most, you (who are crying) or yixing (who has the saddest eyes ever as he watches your tears roll down your face).

baekhyun: he has a soft, soooft heart. baekhyun can't stand seeing people cry, it breaks him too, so it wouldn't be different with you. let's say you two had an argument, and things escalated kinda quickly; firstly, baekhyun is the one to start crying, even though he tries to hold back as much as he can. secondly, the moment you start crying as well, he shuts up and reaches for you. he uses his thumbs to caress your tears away, not saying a damn word and fighting the urge to kiss you to make you calm down.

chen: another tricky one. jongdae can be kind of a fucker and not care if you're crying IF what you said back at him hurt him too. as he doesn't cry so often, maybe you won't know that you've hurted him, but if you did... you can cry all you want, he thinks it's only fair (as you don't know the damage you did inside him). but if not, if he messed up something "small" but that it still mattered to you, jongdae will sit beside you and talk about what he can do to show you how sorry he is (and he really is).

chanyeol: actually you're the one who's making him cry, shame on you (because i honestly think chanyeol is the most sentimental one out of all the members and he tries to be careful with his words because he knows the damage they can make).

d.o: kyungsoo is very logical about things, i think. i picture him as being the type of person to let you cry as you need to put it all out of your chest, but once you're done he will approach you and hold your hand as he apologizes, probably not for what he said/done but for hurting you, and say that if he's hurting you then maybe you two should think about your relationship because "i love you and it isn't supposed to be this way. are you sure i'm good for you? am i not doing the opposite of what i should?".

kai: it will all depend on what happened, to be honest. jongin is very soft hearted, but he will stomp his feet and not give in if he believes he's right about something. if he's not, then he will try to hug you and apologize, bu he won't like if you push him away because it's eating him up the fact that he was the one who got you messed up like that. jongin will pout and say things like "please, don't do that, i'm really sorry". i don't think it's that healthy, but that's something he has to work on.

sehun: he doesn't know how to react. sehun doesn't know if he should reach for you and take you into his arms, or if he should give you some space to deal with your own feelings. some emotions can make him uncomfortable, and it's not necessarily his fault, he just doesn't know what to do. but sehun is a mature guy - more than we think, actually -, so he will find by himself the balance between respecting your space and trying to apologize, which is actually learning how to read you and your body language. if you're crying silently, then he knows you might want him to make it up for you asap; if you're crying and swearing, not at him, but at the world in general, then he knows that you're just trying to settle your emotions down and that maybe it's better if you two don't speak for the rest of the day.

So, its basically when either Male reader or an EXO member is struggling with his homework.

❃EXO and helping with your school/uni work ❃

A/N: Heyyy, I am so sorry this took as long as it did. I had to take some time off of posting on Tumblr as I am about to start my graduation process for my RMA. In a way, it was super cathartic to write this prompt so it became a bit of a mix between school and uni work, I hope you don't mind :')

Regarding male x-readers: I try to keep my prompt as gender-neutral as possible, mostly so anyone can insert themselves regardless of whether they identify as male, female, non-binary, etc. However, I am totally open to doing any LGBTQIA+-specific prompts, so feel free to do so!

Xiumin/Minseok:

✾ Considering this man is rumoured to have a PhD (although not specified in what), you would think that he would be an amazing person to have around when you are struggling through your homework/coursework. However, being smart doesn’t always equate to being able to offer understandable explanations.

✾ His brain skips so many steps when he is tackling a problem or working on an essay. He knows why something is right or wrong, but he can’t really explain how he got to his answers. It comes so naturally to him that he struggles to dissect his thought processes and convey them to someone else.

✾ Ultimately, he will convince you to email your teacher/professor; they can explain it much better than he can, anyway. After having corresponded so often with professors during his own studies, he is more than capable of helping you with formulating your email in such a way that they would agree to help you out.

✾ Still, after having studied as much as he has, he understands the struggle of keeping up with homework/coursework. Considering he got his degrees whilst being an idol, he is incredible at planning his work efficiently. Thus, he instead offers to help you with creating a schedule, giving you a more healthy work-life balance.

Suho/Junmyeon:

✾ Well, considering that he has an MA in Cultural Management and talked at Stanford (plus it has been proven time and time again that Suho is incredibly intelligent), he is one of the best members to go to if you ever struggle with your homework/coursework. He strikes me as someone who, although they are incredibly smart, can explain his inner thoughts very well.

✾ Give him a whiteboard, and he will shine. Don’t ask me why, but I can totally imagine him being one of those people that is convinced that “you have to visualize things. Write it down to have more space in your head to think.” Does that work? Maybe. Is it annoying to be told time and time again to “just draw it”? Yes.

✾ If he isn’t familiar with the topic/class that you are struggling with, he will take time out of his busy schedule to familiarize himself with it. He will find a couple of sources or a handbook so that he can read up on it.

✾ A part of him enjoys studying and learning together, smiling the entire time as you do so. Despite your own stress on why you can’t seem to work through the problem/assignment, you can’t help but return his quiet enthusiasm.

Baekhyun:

✾ Another member who went to university to get his degree (although I can’t find out whether he has a BA or MA, sources are so incredibly vague) and is probably used to studying whilst being unbelievably busy. Furthermore, Suho has said before that although Baekhyun tends to be the mood maker of EXO on camera, Baekhyun is a deep thinker and has many philosophical conversations with him in private. Therefore, I can imagine him being another member who would be good at conveying his thoughts very well, offering you a coherent explanation.

✾ He would be an expert on making studying fun. Instead of having to cram a bunch of facts or read a long dry article for your next class, he would find a way to gamify it, turning it from a long boring study session into a fun competition. Although he might not be a huge help regarding the content of your class, he would help you to keep your motivation while studying.

✾ At the same time, I can totally see Baekyhun being a massive distraction while studying. You will be trying to solve a problem or work on that lengthy essay, and Baekhyun keeps trying to get you to pay attention to him, as he is too restless to sit still and study. He strikes me as someone who tries to convince you to do it tomorrow instead.

Chen/Jongdae:

✾ He has an MA in Media Advertisement so you can bet that he can sell a story. I am pretty sure Media Advertisement falls under either business or communication studies, so he will probably be not too shabby at statistics either. He will, therefore, not only sell you on why studying this particular subject is fun, but he will also be able to help you actually study the contents of most math-based subjects.

✾ Chen probably is too busy to delve deeply into the subject matter that you are trying to grasp, though. He will try, nonetheless, to work through it with you. He will sit next to you as you try to solve equations, and although he might not have mastered the theory himself, he will try to learn it with you, giving you a fresh set of eyes.

✾ I think rather than being incredible at explaining stuff, he would be an amazing person for emotional support. I can see him prioritize calming you down first and having you take a step back from studying to clear your head. He would make sure that you stay hydrated and fed while studying, preparing a bunch of snacks beforehand that he will hand out as a reward for making it through another chapter.

Chanyeol:

✾ Am I tired of repeating myself and saying “This member is smart because they got their degree”? Yes. Am I insanely impressed with most of EXO going to university whilst balancing their studies with a full-time idol career? Yes, and I will never shut up about it. Anyway, yeah Chanyeol went to university bla bla, making him, not just smart, bla bla, but also hard-working, bla bla. You know the drill.

✾ Regardless of whether Chanyeol is well-studied in the field you are struggling in, nothing will stop him from becoming an expert. He is reading up on it as if his life depended on it, driven by his strong dislike of being bad at something. It doesn't matter whether you tell him it is okay and that you can always ask a fellow student or your teacher/lecturer; he is having none of it.

✾ At this point, he is more frustrated about not grasping a particular part of the theory than you. Even after you two manage to work through your homework/coursework, he will continue to read up on the topic until he fully understands it.

✾ He might be an overachiever and perfectionist who could’ve very well used the time that he spent on a piece of information he will never ever use again more wisely, but if anyone ever needs to know more about that specific theory, he can tell them everything.

D.O./Kyungsoo:

✾ Listen, I love him with every fibre in my body, and I will continue to do so until I turn to dust, but Kyungsoo has admitted, on several occasions, that he is not a big fan of studying. Sure, he got his degree, just like the others, and got his culinary license, indicating that he is more than capable of retaining a ton of information and working through difficult assignments/problems. But, does he enjoy studying? No, not really; he got it over with and seems glad to be done.

✾ So, when you ask him to help you with your homework/coursework, he will remind you, at least seven times, that he isn’t too good at studying and that there are better people to ask for help instead. He will try his best, albeit reluctantly, reminding you continuously to lower your expectations.

✾ In the end, he will try to help out in a different way, either by supplying you with a ton of study snacks or recounting how he worked through tough assignments back when he was in university, with the hope that maybe it works for you as it did for him. He makes sure that you are as comfortable as you can be, convinced he can’t do much more than that.

Kai/Jongin:

✾ Listen, don’t get me wrong, I adore Kai. However, I have to say that he is not the brightest when it comes to academia (at least compared to the rest of EXO) or, like, his common sense. Yes, he had his moments of genius in New World, and I am sure that when it comes to memorizing dance and lyrics, he is insanely good. However, give him a math problem, and he will cry.

✾ Kai strikes me as someone who was exhilarated to be done with school, not seeing the point of going to university like the rest of his members. When you ask him to help you out with your home/coursework, something inside of him dies as he knows nothing that will be leaving his mouth will be helpful. He is too sweet to say no and will try his hardest to help you with whatever you are struggling with. Nevertheless, he is even more lost than you upon reading your assignment, confused by all the fancy words the assignment seems to be using.

✾ Nevertheless, Kai would be an amazing person if you need someone to talk to without necessarily needing any advice/answers, just to get your own ideas out of your head. He knows exactly when to nod and say “hmhm”, aware that you don’t necessarily want to get his input, only needing him to work through your thoughts and ideas on your own.

✾ Honestly, he gets an A for effort for me. Kai is good vibes only, and he would give you a hug for support.

Sehun:

✾ Another one who is glad he finished school and never has to go back. Again, don’t get me wrong, I love Sehun, but you can’t deny that he isn’t the smartest person in the room. As Suho said during EXO Ladder, “I think, they (the beluga whales) have the same IQ as Sehun” after noting they have an IQ of 60-90.

✾ Where Kai still tries to help out, he flat-out refuses. What do you mean you need his help finishing your work? He is so unapologetic about it too and slightly offended; why did you have to remind him about the horror that is school? He left that behind him and under no circumstances will he ever be dragged back in. He is rich, and he needs no degree.

✾ Such a bad influence on you as he tries to keep you from doing your work. “Well, if you are struggling with your homework you might as well take a break and go to the convenience store with me.” Funnily enough, it actually helps to clear your head. Sometimes the best thing to do is to step away and try again with a clearer mind. Sehun maintains that it was his plan all along; you doubt it.

✾ He will end up asking one of his members to assist you with your homework, calling in a favour with, for instance, Suho. They are all down bad for him, so you end up with the best tutors EXO has to offer.

When Exo get jealous of their girlfriend’s friendship with one of their members

Xiumin - Jealous over how affectionate you and Sehun are

As you were the same age as Xiumin and older than all the other members you felt it was your duty to look after the maknaes and Sehun was the most helpless maknae to ever exist. Thanks to you and Suho he'd survived his youth but just barely and he still needed lots of care and attention. So caring for Sehun had basically become an instinct at this point...but Xiumin wasn't aware of that.

You were all eating a meal together for the first time in over a year and as Suho and Chen began distributing the food you and Lay helped with the cutlery. Xiumin was passing out drinks and went to give himself the apple-flavoured one when you took it from him. "Take the orange one, that's for Sehun". Xiumin frowned "why?". "Because Sehun only likes the apple flavour" you shrugged and Sehun nodded approvingly, a huge smile on his face when you passed it to him. Xiumin frowned "I thought the orange was his favourite". "Sure like two years ago" you laughed and Sehun rolled his eyes. "Unbelievable...and you call yourself our hyung" Baekhyun cried and everyone laughed.

Finally all the food was dished up and you began to eat. Sehun wanted some sauce but couldn't open the lid. He was sighing pitifully and Xiumin was about to help him when Sehun tapped your arm and held it out to you. You were chatting with Chanyeol and without Sehun even needing to say a word you took the jar opened it and passed it back. "Thank you Y/n!" Sehun called and you smiled at him fondly. You caught Xiumin watching you and frowned "you okay?" and he nodded.

After the meal everyone began drinking and Sehun quickly became sleepy after a few beers. Xiumin was enjoying himself and found Sehun's droopy eyes cute until Sehun laid his head against your shoulder. You laughed and patted his head fondly, moving so he could lean against you better. Sehun relaxed into you immediately and closed his eyes properly. You both looked very comfortable and he could only assume you did this a lot. You carried on chatting with the others and played with Sehun's hair casually. Xiumin began to feel left out and got a little pouty. When he hadn't spoken in a while you noticed and gently touched his arm "hey, you okay?". He nodded "yeah just Sehun looks really comfortable there". You smiled "are you jealous of our maknae?". "No! Well maybe a little...why is he getting so many cuddles?" Xiumin whispered and you laughed "okay". "Suho" you called "can you take Sehun to his room? I think he'll get neck ache here". Suho nodded "sure" and coaxed Sehun away to his room. Your arms free you turned to Xiumin who quickly wrapped his arms around you and rested his head in the crook of your neck. "That's better" he hummed and you laughed "shouldn't you be above jealousy at your age?". "When it comes to you, there’s no limit".

Suho - Jealous you like Lay more than him

You and Lay were both Chinese and so the second Suho introduced you there was an air of familiarity and you got along. At first Suho found it nice and reassuring and most of the time he still felt that...but sometimes it felt like he was the odd one out. Like when he'd say a word that sounded like something funny in mandarin and the two of you would be in fits of laughter. Or when your parents made it abundantly clear they preferred Lay to him. Or of course when you'd talk in your language and Suho would just sit there awkwardly.

He was glad you had a reminder of your home and someone to speak your native language with, so he hated himself for being so selfish and wanting you all to himself but he couldn't help it!

"Suho did you say Lay had work today?" you asked him one day as you were lounging on his bed together. He nodded "yep all day, why?". "Lay's just posted a photo from his home". Suho paused "maybe it's an old one". "Then why did he text me asking if I wanted to have a movie day?". Suho paused "I have no idea". "Really?" you asked and Suho soon broke under your gaze. "Fine, I lied! Lay doesn't have anything scheduled today". You were shocked "you lied...but you never lie". "I know. I hate myself and you should too" he pouted. "I don't hate you Suho and you shouldn't either, it was just one mistake but...why did you do it?". He sighed "I just wanted a day with you to myself. I know this is awful but when Lay's around I feel like we're fighting for your attention and I don't think I can compete with him". You paused "you can't compete with him? Suho, but you're my boyfriend!". "I know but Lay's not only from the same country but from the same city as you! That's huge and you have all this shared knowledge and inside jokes, I sometimes wonder if you regret meeting me first". Suho probably would've kept going if you didn't stop it. "Okay that's crazy!" you cried and Suho looked at you startled "it is?". "Yes! Suho I love Lay but he's like a brother to me. There way I feel about him and the way I feel about you couldn't be more different from one another. You're my partner and I know through thick or thin we'll be there for each other. I love the way we met and would never wish to be with anyone else. I'm so sorry you've been feeling this way". Suho shrugged "well I feel a little better now hearing how much you love me". You chuckled "then I guess I need to tell you that more and more from now on huh?" moving closer to him. Suho blushed "i'd certainly enjoy that..." and he followed your word and mode closer too. "You were now inches away from each other and you smiled "good, I think this will help too" and kissed him. Of course it did.

Lay - When he realises he's missed a lot of things but D.O. has been there for you

Lay knew he'd been gone a while and that hadn't been ideal but you'd gotten through it. You'd dated long distance and it'd been fine. You still loved each as much as before he left and he was so relieved at that. However after being back in Korea for a few days he noticed some changes.

You’d joined him for dinner with his members and it was really nice but he throughout the night he realised there were some things you hadn’t told him. "You didn't tell me you had trouble with your neighbours" he said once you got in the car. Suho had asked how you were coping and Lay had no idea what he even meant. "Well you were so busy and I didn’t want to waste our talking time complaining. Plus it wasn't that bad, we sorted it within a few days so it's fine". "We?" he asked and you nodded "when I told D.O. what has happening he came over and spoke to the men. I'm pretty sure he scared the living daylights out of them because they haven't bothered me since" you laughed. Lay laughed too but he felt bad you'd had to turn to his members for that support. He made a mental note to thank D.O. for doing that for you.

When you reached your house you and Lay settled in for the night and since it was your first night together in ages wanted to light some candles. The only problem is you’d moved in just 2 months ago and had no idea where you’d put them. You searched all the usual places but nothing. You sighed wondering where it could be before your face cleared "I know! I'll ring D.O.". "Why?" Lay asked laughing "did he scare them away too?". "No but he helped me move and he's so much better at organising he did a lot of the unpacking". The phone rang and after 2 rings D.O. picked up which was shocking in itself. "Hey, quick question. Do you remember where you put the candles when we unpacked?". Lay heard D.O. pause and then he asked if you'd tried the downstairs closet. You had a look and as if by magic they were there, right on the top of a box. "I've got them, thank you so much" you cried and D.O. told you it was fine. Lay didn't hear what he said next but you shook your head "i'm okay, Lay is here so I'll probably grab food with him...but thank you for the offer".

You then wrapped up the call and noticed Lay seemed quiet. "Got the candles!" you tried and he nodded but didn't smile. You lit the candles and paused as Lay seemed lost in thought. "You okay?" you asked and Lay nodded "what did D.O. say at the end?". "He told me that he and Chen were grabbing dinner and asked if I wanted to come". Lay nodded "do you hang out with D.O. a lot?". You shrugged "a bit yeah! He's been really kind to me and helped me with a lot of things since..." and you paused. "Since I've been gone?" he asked and you checked he wasn't angry before nodding "yeah...but not in a creepy way I promise". Lay nodded "that's fine. i get it and I'm glad he's been so kind to you. Now I'm back I can be there for you too". You smiled and leaned into his embrace "sounds perfect".

Baekhyun - Gets jealous when he hears all your members like Suho

Often whenever the boys were having arguments or contests they'd bring you in to decide who won. They all trusted your opinion and even though you were dating Baekhyun you were fairly impartial.

"Y/n who do you think the most gentlemanly out of us is?" Sehun asked. You smirked "well it's obvious right?". Baekhyun prepared to stand up and gloat when you carried on "Suho". "Suho!" he cried and all the others began to protest. "I've held the door open for you 3 times today y/n! How many time has Suho?" Kai asked while Chanyeol just frowned "he's not tall enough to be a gentleman he's like a gentleboy". You held your hands up at the chaos you'd caused. "I'm sorry but that's my answer and I think if you asked other girls they'd agree with me". "Yeah like who?" D.O. asked. "Well like my members" you laughed "they all love Suho!". "They do?" Suho asked and you nodded "yeah! Haven’t you noticed anytime you come over to the house they’re super nice to you and offer you food and stuff”. Suho paused “really?”. You smiled “want me to prove it?". The members all nodded so you called your leader. "Hey Ari are you with the girls? Great can you put me on speaker". The boys waited anxiously as you explained the situation "so who do you think is most gentlemanly?" you asked. "Suho" they all said at once and Baekhyun's jaw dropped. "He paid you to say that didn't he!" Chanyeol cried and your members all promised he hadn't. "He's just so kind and caring, he's like a movie prince" one of your members explained. "He's also really gentle but also steps up to be the leader which is the definition of a gentleman" your leader pointed out. You nodded along and when the guys were all finally convinced you hung up the phone. "Well that was horrifying" Baekhyun admitted and the members all laughed.

Everyone seemed to get over it quickly though except for Baekhyun. When the conversation changed he gently nudged you "do you really think Suho is the most like a gentleman". You nodded "I do" and he pouted "not me?". "You're not really a gentleman, you're different" you tried but Baekhyun gasped and turned away. "Wait no, I didn't mean that as a bad thing!" you cried but he didn't turn back. For the rest of the night Baekhyun blanked you and pouted anytime someone spoke to him. He was acting like a child and you decided you'd just leave him to it, knowing he'd come to you and sure enough he did. "Y/nnnnnn" he called "love me!". You smirked "I thought you hated me?". "Never" he replied “do you hate me?”. “Of course not” you said and hugged him “please don’t be upset over what we said about Suho. He’s a wonderful guy but he’s not my boyfriend and being the biggest gentleman in the world couldn’t change that”. “Really?” Baekhyun asked adorably vulnerable and you nodded “really”. “Okay” Baekhyun said happily “i’m okay with it” and he cuddled you for the rest of the evening to make up for his pouting time.

Chanyeol - When Xiumin is your childhood friend

Chanyeol first met you through your best friend Xiumin so he shouldn't have found it surprising the two of you were very close. You'd known each other since you were kids and had stood the test of time friendship-wise. You told each everything and Chanyeol was fine with Xiumin knowing all the details of your relationship...what he didn't realise was there would be lots of things Xiumin knew about you that he didn't.

You were all playing a friendship quiz to see who knew each other the best. Everyone had written down questions about themselves and whoever got the question right first won a point. Chanyeol was confident he’d win for your round but he didn't realize he'd have such strong competition.

"What's my favourite song?" you asked. Chanyeol immediately slammed his hand down "Blue Hour by TxT". He was so sure he was right but you sounded the buzzer "nope". He frowned and went to argue when Xiumin pressed his bell "Move by Taemin". "Correct!" you grinned and Chanyeol interrupted "wait, you've been playing song on repeat for months!". "Yeah but Taemin is my favourite artist and Move was the first album I ever bought" you replied. "Ow..." Chanyeol replied and Suho tapped him "don't worry you'll get the next one". "What food could I keep eating forever?" you asked. Chanyeol and Xiumin pressed their bells at the same time. Baekhyun gasped dramatically "it'll have to be sudden death, both of you write down your answers and then reveal them". The boys obeyed and you nodded "okay who wants to go first?". Feeling like he had something to prove Chanyeol volunteered "Katsu Curry". He could tell by your face it was wrong "but how?" he asked "you always have that on your birthday because it's your favourite meal!". You nodded "yeah but there's something else that has more sentimental value to me". Xiumin grinned "I got it right! Pears from your grandma's orchard!". You nodded and the two of you celebrated. "Wow Chanyeol do you even know your girlfriend?" Baekhyun laughed. D.O.'s eyes widened at that comment and Suho shot him a look. "Of course he does!" Sehun cried "give him another one y/n" trying to help but Chanyeol cringed. "Erm okay...what's my favourite book?". Chanyeol cursed inwardly, he didn't know this one either. "I don't know" he sighed "do you?" and he looked right at Xiumin who paused "is it Lord of the Rings?". You turned the card and there it was. Chanyeol sighed and left the room.

You discreetly followed and found Chanyeol sat on the porch with a frown. “Are you okay?” you asked tentatively “you know that was just a stupid game right?”. He nodded “I know but it still makes me jealous”. "But why? You know me and Xiumin are just friends". "See I do! I completely believe the two of you aren’t attracted to one another but that logic can’t cancel out the illogical part of me that's jealous that he knows more about you than I do" chanyeol pouted. You frowned "well how I see it, I've known Xiumin almost all my life whereas we’ve been together 7 months. Of course he’s going to know more trivia questions but the thing is most of those things are all based on the past when we were kids. There’s going to be so many experiences in the future that you'll be there for and we’re going to make many new memories together". Chanyeol did like the sound of that. He paused and then smiled "that’s a really nice way to think of it, he was there for your past but I'm gonna be there for your future". You smiled "of course you will be! Unless you get sick of me, of course" you joked. Chanyeol immediately pulled you into his lap and wrapped his long arms around you. "Never" he cried peppering you with kisses and you burst out laughing. Chanyeol loved your laugh and knew upon hearing how happy you were that he had nothing to worry about.

D.O. - When you go to Chanyeol for help first

D.O. woke up to hear Chen and Chanyeol’s voices downstairs which confused him. The two of you were chatting and Chanyeol seemed to be teasing you about something. Hey what’s going on?” he asked and you turned, smiling at his sleepy voice. “Nothing just I got stuck in the garage so Chanyeol came to get me out. He didn’t have his car so Chen gave him a lift”.

That woke D.O. up “what! Why didn’t you wake me?” he checked his phone but he had zero missed calls. "Why did you call Chanyeol?" D.O. asked confused. You paused "well you were napping and I know how upset you get when you're woken up...plus Chanyeol is really good at opening stuck doors". "He is?" Chen asked and Chanyeol laughed "this is not the first time y/n has gotten stuck". "Wait when else did you get stuck?" D.O. asked. You thought "not that many times, just twice at the company building and once in a restaurant". "And you called Chanyeol all three times?" D.O. asked.

Chen could tell D.O. was getting upset so he pretended he needed the bathroom and backed away. "Well yeah, the first time it was late and the only person I knew was around was Chanyeol, when we went to the restaurant you weren't there and the last time you were there but I knew you wouldn't have your phone on you". "It's really no big deal" Chanyeol told D.O. and he walked away.

Chanyeol and Chen thought it was best if they left and you agreed, thanking them again for their help. You gave D.O. some time to calm down and then approached him "please don't tell me you're upset". "I'm not upset...well I am but more because I wasn't there for you. You needed me and for whatever reason, I was asleep or don't check my phone, you couldn't come to me. So while I'm pleased Chanyeol is there to swoop in and help you I'm just a little annoyed it wasn't me and a bit jealous". "Jealous?" you asked and he nodded "I know it's silly but I want you to think of me when you need someone to help you, not Chanyeol". You paused "well I'd like that too but you can be hard to reach sometimes and I know how much you value your space and alone time". "Yeah but that doesn't apply to you it applies to...everyone else" D.O. explained blushing slightly. You smiled taking his arm so he couldn't turn away and hide his face. "So you don't mind me disturbing you or waking you up in the middle of the night". "No, if you need me then I'll be there" D.O. said "just please don't wake me up in the middle of the night for fun". You laughed "I wouldn't dream of it" but D.O. shrugged “although you’re pretty cute so I probably wouldn’t be that mad”. You chuckled “so I have you for protection and fun? How could I possibly need anyone else?”. D.O. blushed happily and held you closer, pretending like those weren’t the most beautiful words he’d ever heard.

Kai - How well your personality matches Baekhyun’s

Kai knew he had the physical aspects of the relationship down. You were both attracted to one another and very happy in that aspect but he never realised how much of a relationship doesn't involve sex until he saw you with Baekhyun.

While Kai and you got on well, you and Baekhyun clicked immediately. You'd stayed over at Kai's and in the morning told him you were going downstairs to get some water. Half an hour later you hadn't come back. Confused and slightly worried Kai followed you and heard you talking to someone. He pushed open the door to see you and Baekhyun sitting across from one another laughing and joking. You were talking about some tv show and didn't even notice Kai until the door squeaked. "Kai" you smiled while Baekhyun grinned "your girlfriend has exquisite taste in tv shows!". "So that's what's been keeping you" Kai said and you frowned "why what time is it..." before your eyes widened as you saw your home screen. "Woah we've been talking for so long at it felt like 5 minutes" Baekhyun cried. "I know! I love when you can have conversations like that with people". "Well some people are just the best" Baekhyun grinned and you laughed. Somehow Kai felt like the third wheel here. "Y/n, didn't you say you have to be home for 11? We'll have to leave soon if you're going to make it". You nodded "totally let's go, it was lovely to meet you Baekhyun!". "You too!" the boy replied "here pass me your phone, I'll put my number in because we have so much more to discuss". You tossed him your phone and Kai sighed "I'll be upstairs" and wandered away.

You must've followed him because you appeared not long after "you okay?". Kai nodded "of course I am" but you could tell he was being sarcastic. "What's wrong?" you asked "did I do something wrong with Bawkhyun?. "No it's just...you've just met him and you looked more excited at what he was saying than you have with any conversation we've had. I know the physical aspect is good but do I suck at the emotional part?". You shook your head "no not at all...we're just very different and that's a good thing. Opposites attract and while I do agree we're more skilled in the physical aspects of our relationship that's not inevitable. We can totally work on that and take an interest in each other more...if you want?". Kai nodded "I would like that" and you smiled "great...how about I blow this work thing off and we just go somewhere and spend time together?". Kai nodded "that sounds amazing" and he meant it.

Sehun - When he finds out Kai has seen you naked

Sehun loved having you all to himself and was quite clingy. So when he heard one of his members had walked on you changing in his room he was not happy about it.

"How did this happen?" he asked like something impossible had happened. Meanwhile you found it pretty funny. "Well I was changing and he walked in". "Who was it?" he asked. "Kai" you said and Sehun groaned "Kai! Kai?". You nodded "you're familiar with him right?". "I was so hoping it wasn’t him!" Sehun cried "like out of all the members he’s the one I'd least want...". "Why?" you asked genuinely curious. "Because he’s young and hot and tanned!". "Yeah but you know I was the naked one not him right?". "Don't remind me" he groaned "how naked were you?". "Well technically not at all because i was in my underwear". "Which underwear through?" Sehun asked gravely. "Erm my blue matching set". Sehun groaned again and you laughed "hey it's your fault! I wore it because I know you like it". "I do but you look so damn good in that y/n" and he hung his head in his hands.

You laughed at his panic and sat beside him "why are you so upset by this anyway?". Sehun sighed "because it's Kai. I know he can flirt better than me and he’s really good with girls. So the idea he’d like you makes me a mix between nervous and angry". "Jealous?” you offered and he nodded. You hugged him "Sehun there's nothing to be jealous of. Kai just walked in on me and ran out. There was nothing hot or tense about it. He doesn't like me...". "Nobody can see you in the blue piece and not fall in love" Sehun interjected fully serious and you struggled not to laugh. "Okay but even then I don’t like him". "You don’t?" Sehun asked and you smiled "no I'm kind of happy with you strangely enough". Sehun smiled "ow thank god" and hugged you back hastily. You laughed as he tugged you into his arms and settled against him. "I'm not going anywhere Sehun" you told him and nodded "you bet you're not" and he carried you back into bed where he swiftly wrapped all the covers and himself around you.

Side note: I didn’t include Chen because he’s married and also just because he’s the member I know least and I wouldn’t really know what to write for him. So when I write for Exo of course Chen will be included but I won’t be writing for him.

The other members are also going through their own shit and sabotage from SM and you saw it with Chanyeol and CBX and Jongdae! Sehun sang like 15 lines in all Exo songs since debut, has no solo album 0 reality shows or Variety attendance, 0 Sechan promotions from SM.

Jongdae was being canceled, threatened with Death him and his daughters and went on hiatus for 3years because he decided to have a family and SM didn't even support him or sued the fans who boycotted him or sent him death threats.

Suho, who works so hard on his albums and musicals, and has 0 promotions from SM, no appreciation, 0 variety/reality shows attendance!

Chanyeol who paid with his own money to print and promote his albums with Sehun ?? He said he wants a unit and make an album with Sehun he said he has the lyrics and composed everything himself he just needed the funds for making MVs and printing albums and promoting his debut and comebacks, SM said "Your unit your problem"??? Or the fact that SM was the one that spread that 10 gfs scandal and ruined him few months before going to military because he was being a Rebel! And Please don't get me started on Minseok/Xiumin, that Man as if he doesn't even exist to SM. He's the most underrated most mistreated member of all times NOT ONLY from his company but sadly from HIS OWN FANS who give 0 fucks about what he does, his albums and projects, I dare anyone here to tell me three songs from his album. And because he's not supported by his own fans that SM refuses to "Waste money" on him promoting him which is sad it's how business works, if you can't produce you can't consume. Ranking from most wealthy to least:

Baekhyun

Kai

Suho

Xiumin

The last five will rest here (none of them are in good places financially rn)

From what I'm getting, none of these members are particularly "wealthy" most of them I would say are "comfortable". But calling them wealthy would be like comparing Bill Gates' wealth to a homeless persons (not saying they're homeless btw)

Baekhyun- He seems to be the most stable financially to the point that he seems quite unamused with his life. He's really bored. It's like the energy of a person that has all of their bills paid with a nice amount of money sitting in the bank and now is just looking around at what to do next

Kai- His finances is giving me the energy of a person walking away from the gambling table, not exactly empty handed but he doesn't have a pocket full of gold either. It could be that while being in the military he doesn't have much access to his money or gaining any wealth. I'm also seeing some betrayal here, so I'm not sure if he put someone in charge of his money but they could be screwing him over

Suho- I think he bought something quite big recently (like a house/apartment/building etc...) and in terms of his net worth he's sitting pretty high up but when it comes to liquid assets (physical money one has access to) he doesn't have much. It's probably bc of this purchase. I'm also seeing a possible new project, so overall he's invested his money into something so rn he has none, but there is a possibility as time goes by that he would get a return on his investment

D.O- Rn he's fighting to get more acting roles and gigs. I think he wants a specific role that's costing him time and money since he's wasting time waiting to get this role and arguing with ppl over it. When he could be using this time to make money doing other things instead of obsessing over a role he probably won't get. This energy is also giving arguments with the company SM and his manager as well

Xiumin- I don't think he's making any money doing anything besides being an idol. Maybe he has small gigs here and there but they're few and far between. Good thing is that he has the drive and motivation to up his finances (unlike some of his other members, I'll get to them soon)

Chanyeol- He has no passion rn to work or any motivation to make money so his money isn't growing. He could be completely over being an idol and would rather spend his days hanging out with friends (lowkey living the slum life, no shade lol). The energy feels like he's housing a bunch of his boys and they're all just drinking and smoking all day while jamming to music.

Sehun- I don't know if these guys have a contract renewal coming up but it seems like he's waiting to get out of his contract. If it's not with SM , it's with another gig he worked for. It's like he doesn't want the responsibilities of some type of job anymore (I'm not sure if it's his idol job or something else). He's quite over it and he also isn't feeling up to working rn so his money is suffering for that

Chen- He's spending more than he's making. I think he's finding it hard to focus on work these days, I see his wife and possibly his children (but more so his wife) taking up a lot of his time and money. The wife could overspend but he also could too, like buying the kids random things they don't need. But I also see his health isn't the best, he's not taking care of himself properly.

Lay- I don't know what's going on but it's like his putting in a lot of work and putting in the time but he's not really seeing a lot of money for it. Whatever he's doing these days for money seems like dead end jobs that won't really get him anywhere financially but leaves him feeling burnt out. Also, he's spending a lot of money on a romantic relationship, buying them gifts and possibly funding his lovers life style. It's like hes taking his girl on a bunch of shopping sprees that he lowkey can't afford. And it's not that he's broke but it's just that it takes A LOT OF WORK and hustling on his part to make money so he can't recklessly spend like he has.

(X-)EXO Powers Headcanons

(This is really just a future reference for me when writing fics to keep things at least somewhat consistent and while thinking about this I had some fic ideas so hopefully I'll remember when I come back to this lol)

Anyway, a couple word before we start:

Some of these are based on the stuff that’s shown in MVs or that were mentioned in official contents, some are just me fucking around

Because of who I am as a person, I imagine the X-EXOs would all have stronger powers than EXOs - as in the powers they share would be stronger (e.g. no limit in how much amount of water X-EXO Suho can create before getting tired) and they’d have some skills EXOs just don’t have

Suho / Suhø

Power: Water

Water creation & manipulation - Pretty self-explanatory, also canon as far as official lore is concerned. - He can create water and manipulation it’s shape, move it and stuff - It’s canon that in Obsession, Suho drains water from Suhø’s body so that’s another way they could use their power - maybe on smaller scale to cause some health issues - By manipulation the surface tension, they could make it possible to walk on water I suppose - Maybe this could also do with increasing/decreasing humidity in the air if they wanted to make their job easier and just synthesize water from moisture in the air? - Adding to that ^ (I guess) it’s also canon that part of what they could do is make rain - Manipulation of liquids based on their water content - the higher it is, the easier it would be

Weakness: Dry areas

X-EXO exclusive abilities:

Water breathing - Listen, I’m just putting this here on the off-chance that I get to write something with EXO fighting against X-EXO because I want the angst of Suho drowning despite his power literally being water

Liquids manipulation - And since blood is and the liquids in human body are mostly water… perhaps some leverage over movements of a person, not enough to order them around, but maybe enough to make it a bit of a challenge to disobey his wishes (just to make it fun)

Xiumin / Xiūmin

Power: Frost

Ice creation and manipulation - Pretty self-explanatory, also canon as far as official lore is concerned. - So that’s freezing stuff and people, but also creating ice out of nothing, moving it around, shattering it into smaller pieces and all that - Moving objects covered in ice (but only if it doesn’t shatter under the weight of the moved object)

Can create hail and snow storms

Lowering temperature - Idk if this is canon or not tbh, but why not, seems logical

Weakness: Hot areas

X-EXO exclusive abilities:

Frost resistance - Again, purely for angst purposes lol

Power boost if he freezes someone to death - That can be healing faster, getting stronger for a limited period of time etc.

Lay / Yïxing

Power: Healing

Healing - Pretty self-explanatory, also canon as far as official lore is concerned. - Healing himself, others, living things through touch (physical injuries and diseases only, not mental illness - Can heal either completely or just partly - Regeneration takes a toll on a body so the beings he helps are exhausted afterwards based on how much healing he does

Enhanced self-regeneration

X-EXO exclusive abilities:

Immortality - Not completely immortal, but basically yeah... really hard to kill - more so than regular Lay, his healing would be faster, he doesn’t age

Overhealing - You know what happens when the cells don’t grow as they’re supposed to despite cell growth being important for regeneration…

Reverse healing - He can cause all sorts of damage to alive beings through touch - cause bruising, cuts, break bones, speed up aging of the organism - Can cause injuries and some types of disease but not stuff like the flu, covid etc.

Lifesteal

Baekhyun / Baëkhyun

Power: Light

Light creation & reduction - Pretty self-explanatory, also canon as far as official lore is concerned. - He can create balls of light in the mvs but let’s say he can produce light on a larger scale as well and reduce it, make it disappear - Can blast light - He can light up his own body as well

Illusions - Pretty self-explanatory, also canon as far as official lore is concerned.

X-EXO exclusive abilities:

Light manipulation - He can manipulate the intensity and colors of light, meaning he could remove colors from the world - Enhanced abilities - can limit the disappearance of light and all of the above to a certain target aka person

Sharper senses - Other than sight, he’d have sharper senses since he’s used to living without his sight when he gets rid of light - And as a little side note for future me to consider: Baëkhyun being more sensitive to touch

Chen / Chën

Power: Thunder

Electricity creation and manipulation - Pretty self-explanatory, also canon as far as official lore is concerned. - He can create sparks of electricity at will, I suppose he could use to attack or overload electronics, use them without being plugged in etc.

Lightning - According to the official mvs, he can also bring storms and lightning, probably manipulate it as well

Weather manipulation - canon - can cause storms, hail and “other various weather phenomena” - immune to any and all weather conditions

Magnetic field creation

X-EXO exclusive abilities:

Conducting (or not) electricity through his body

Physiological changes - look I’m not a doctor but according to one Film Theory, you could erase someone’s memories by using electricity on their brain and that’s a great power to have for angst purposes so… - also a lot of stuff in the human body depends on some form of electricity so he could have a lot of fun with that

Chanyeol / Chanyeøl

Power: Fire

Fire creation and manipulation - Pretty self-explanatory, also canon as far as official lore is concerned. - Can either set things on fire or just create balls of fire regardless of the conditions (e.g. lack of oxygen wouldn’t be a problem), envelop his body in fire etc., move the flames as he wishes - or he can extinguish them

Fire resistance

Rising temperature - Idk if this is canon or not tbh, but why not, seems logical

Weakness: Cold areas

X-EXO exclusive abilities:

Enhanced fire skills - He can create fire that cannot be extinguished by anyone but him - Can manipulate the temperature and color of his own flames

Fire and heat resistance

Power boost if he burns someone to death - That can be healing faster, getting stronger for a limited period of time etc.

D.O / Đ.O

Power: Force

Superior physical strength - Pretty self-explanatory, also canon as far as official lore is concerned.

Force - Also canon - He can manipulate object like he’s using telekinesis, lift them with invisible force, crush them, throw them, make them fly - Can manipulation mass, shape, form - He can also change gravity - make it stronger, lighter, so he could potentially make himself levitate and fly (sort of and it’d take quite a lot of effort and concentration I suppose)

X-EXO exclusive abilities:

Force fields

Enhanced stamina and durability(?) - Enhanced stamina + can harder his body so he cannot be harmed, reinforced bones, his skin is harder to cut and get through - If hit, can use the power of the impact to enhance his own attack but it has to be done immediately

Kai / Kāi

Power: Teleportation

Teleportation - Pretty self-explanatory, also canon as far as official lore is concerned. - Can also teleport other people, objects and energy from one place to another

X-EXO exclusive abilities:

Enhanced control - can delay the teleportation for a second or less - can teleport just a part of the thing - either with damage or without → people can live without being harmed if i.e. only their arm is ported

Sehun / Sehůn

Power: Wind

Wind creation and manipulation - Pretty self-explanatory, also canon as far as official lore is concerned. - Can create breeze or a tornado, can change the direction and strength of blowing wind and use it to change trajectory of object in the air - Can enhance hearing and sense of smell through bringing scents and sounds closer to him - for himself or others

X-EXO exclusive abilities:

Air manipulation - can manipulate but not really change (i.e. add or subtract elements) the content of the air - so he can make certain area of air more oxygen-rich by making another less oxygenated, can manipulate the air itself (create vacuum, decrease or increase volume), air resistance

Levitation - can levitate and fly using the strength of the wind/air but it takes a lot of effort and practice
