What's your big opinion on every Sonic character don't skip any detail
Dude, do you know how many sonic characters are there?
Like a lot. So im gonna keep it on the main ones LOLL
Maybe i'll add to this tho. We'll see.
Tumblr media
HERE WE GO!!
Sonic: He's my favourite character of all times! Such a funky fella. I love his way of thinking, (as in everyone deserves second chances and freedom is important) and of acting, with the whole attitude. He gives me a sense of freedom that i haven't felt from any other media at all! Its quite impressive honestly. I could write pages upon pages on how Sonic as a character is like the peak of literature in my eyes, but this post would get way too long. In summary tho, i like almost every aspect of Sonic the Character.
Tails: The baby! I also really love tails! I think his role as a sideckick is very endearing, and is a great balance to sonic in all possible ways. One problem with modern Tails, though. He's portrayed as a coward. And like??? That's not who he is?? Like C'mon sega.
Knuckles: He don't chuckle!! Final part of team Sonic, and Sonic's first rival! I really like the knucklehead. But as is the norm, Sega screwed him up badly on Boom. I despise that they're supposed to be the same Knuckles. Because they're not. I like Boom Knuckles, as his own character, but granted, Boom is an acquired taste.
Amy: Honorary part of team sonic! I love her! Mostly on the IDW Comics. I think they handle her excellently in there. I know that Amy is a hated character by the fanbase because most say that her only purpose is to be the "girl character love interest" and i can agree up to some point in some games, but in IDW she's sooo much better. We stan IDW Sonic.
Shadow: Yet another case of Sega making character assassination. Shadow's like, one of the most complex sonic characters there are, If not THE most complex one. And i love that! Though im very sad that Sega hasn't been able to replicate that SA2 Magic quite as well. Will SonicXShadow (heh) give him justice? Stay tuned.
Rouge: MY GIRL!! Ok so controversial opinion, Rouge's my second favourite sonic character, just because i think its hilarious that she (once) was the leader of team Dark. So She commanded a killing machine and An alien experiment. What a girlboss! 10/10 Character.
Omega: Gotta be honest, not much of an omega fan. But i really like his dynamic w/Rouge and Shadow. It's pretty sweet that they become friens :)
Cream: The other baby! I think she's the sweetest character. Like fr. I really want to see her more often on the games! Though i get why in recent games she hasn't appeared. Suddenly the adventures got way too serious. Still want her back in the games though!
Blaze: Fire princess! I fr am so salty that she isn't as much in the games. Like, what gives? She's such a successful character (With good reason btw) and you arent like, putting her in the stage?? outrageous. But yeah, i really Like Blaze. Her contrast and similarities with sonic are great! They make a great duo too.
Silver: The sweetest most unhinged boi in the sonic canon. I find it very funny that in his first appearance he was all angsty and stuff, but now he's full on optimism and sunshine. I love the juxtaposition on that behalf. Boi is cute but he can mess you up.
The Chaotix: Oh i love the found family trope. Espio's my fave for sure. He's the funny ninja, what else do you want? Though Vector and Charmy are great too. Vector has such a cool ass dad vibe. And Charmy... is Charmy. if yk yk.
AAAAND I think i'll leave it there. Should i include someone else? lmk.
Thanks for the ask!

Next Tournament Ideas
Hello! It's been a while since we've had a Sonic Ship Battle and sadly it'll probably still be more towards February/March time before my schedule clears up enough to run another one. I'd love to have a tournament running for Valentines Day, but I'm not sure if that'll be possible rn However, I am hoping to do another one of these in future, so I thought I'd do an early poll to try to guage interest in a lot of different themes. Now, this isn't a case of "whichever wins, the tournament will definitely be about that" but instead is more so I can get an idea of the kind of numbers for the themes that people are more interested in and also to see if there's still enough interest in this blog in general to make running another tournament worthwhile ALSO, I know there are a lot of options missing. Any character not included here hasn't been ruled out, it's just that tumblr only allows 12 options on polls. If there is something not listed here that you'd like to see done, feel free to let me know and I'll add it onto my list of ideas
*Would be potentially followed by YAOI WARS and maybe even HET WARS **Would potentially be two tournaments - one for "most single (deorgatory)" and one for "most single (complimentary)"

Carnage re-write
I'll add these all together into a single post and probably put it onto a03 and my artblog when I'm done with all of these, but for now we're going with this format.
Part 2/??
Previous / Next
So for Eddie’s arc let’s have him learn that he needs to open up and allow himself to listen to and rely on other people. He can’t go around behind other peoples’ backs, and he can’t lie to the people in his inner circle. This will connect back to his flaws in the first film, where he tried to do everything himself his own way without considering how other people would feel about/react to that or reaching out to any of his contacts or allies for help or anything like that.
Venom meanwhile got hints of it in the first film, but we need to double down on it learning the value and meaning of community and friends and allies and all that. In theory Eddie has some of that, but he also tends to throw them away so if we can have Venom glom on and stick that’ll be good for them both in the long run (not a necessity for a good story, but I like when partners fill eachothers’ weak spots.
As for the relationship, we need them both to go on a journey where they realize that/why they care about eachother, and come to value that enough to compromise and work to find their balance.
They also both need to temper their impulses and instinctive responses to be able to think thing through and not just rush in guns blazing, though that might be a series arc and not just for the one movie.
Probably makes the main thrust of this movie something along the lines of: People and relationships are important and irreplaceable, but also hard work and compromise. They are well worth the effort of doing things right.
Which gives us some nice points to invert for our villain trio.
And speaking of villains, the villains and side-characters need arcs too.
In the film, Cletus wants to tell his story, wants to escape, wants to find his girlfriend, wants to get married, and wants to wreak havoc and kill people.
Scream wants to escape, wants to find her boyfriend, wants to get married, and wants to wreak havoc and kill people.
That’s all perfect for what the film wants to do (I have not read the comics and know nothing about scream, don’t at me. But also do, maybe you’ve got some ways to sell all of this better) 100%, no notes.
Where this breaks down is when it comes to Carnage itself. We get very little of its motivations, and we don’t get much between the symbiote and Casady, and even less between it and Scream. And what we do get isn’t compelling. It seems clear to me that they were trying to do a parallel to Eddie and Venom here, but it lacks the clarity and follow-through to really work.
Also AFAIK Carnage symbiote is supposed to be she/her and it’s a bummer that it’s not in the movie though I am always gonna be a “symbiotes are it/its first and anything else second” truther.
So to fix it:
Carnage is newly born straight off of the “we should be able to do what we want with no morals/consequences/limits” argument that Eddie & Venom were having and bases its initial personality off of that. Its motivation is that it wants to murder-party its way across the Earth. It sees Cletus as a good time and it is covetous of him as a host. It wants a match at least as good as Venom’s, and it wants its host to have things that make them feel hedonistically good, but it does not respect Cletus and it doesn’t care about Scream herself.
Cletus loves Scream. And he appreciates the abilities and possibilities that Carnage brings to the table and the way that their goals and desires align, but nothing more than that. People are a means to an end, to be used as he sees fit. To be manipulated and lied to without a thought. He doesn’t care to tell Scream about Carnage being its own being, all the better to bask in the glory of saving her and being powered up all by himself. He doesn’t care to explain to Carnage how the world works, or to reel it in, preferring to ramp it up for the carnage and chaos and pretend that it was all his idea.
Scream loves Cletus, but she is jealous and suspicious. She acts up whenever Cletus seems to have anyone else important in his life, and is even more dismissive of the people around them as little more than backdressing and playthings at best. She has skills and knowledge, and tries to use them to plan their future, but gets ignored by Cletus overruling her opinions and choices unless he is in a “yes, anything for you, everything you say will be done” mood. When she finds out about Carnage she is HECKIN jealous. How dare he have someone even closer to him than she is?
The marriage going from the two of them to the three of them is a peace offering without solving the underlying issues. And when Cletus ignores one of Scream’s choices – the officiant or somethign and Scream gets mad and Carnage slaps her for ruining their big day and then Cletus fights with Carnage for hurting his love, that is the crack that weakens them enough for Eddie and Venom (with backup) to eventually win the day. Their bond is stronger, they have put in the work, they have laid out a support network and talked about their needs, and in the end they will prevail because they have a healthier relationship for it.
This is of course diametrically opposed to how the actual movie played it, where Eddie and V got back together with no actual changes and out of desperation but the movie still kind of tried to imply that they won because their bond was better? Nah, you gotta earn that, on both sides, and we’d seen more problems on the protagonist side than the antagonists’ by far at that point.

I came across your IDW post about which ships have been teased in the comic so far, and something that I always find.... surprising, I guess, is that fans do not seem to notice or care just how many ones contain Sonic. One day Sonic gets carried bridal style by Shadow and bam they're bfs now it's canon Sega approved this everybody!!!!!!! The next Blaze is making googly eyes at him and Sonaze canon everybody!!!! Sonic held Lanolin's hand it's canon!!!!!!! Amy is gushing and blushing and oh my god it is totally canon!!!!!!!! (Where, funnily enough, Sonic carrying Amy bridal style elicited much less of such a reaction than Shadow carrying Sonic did in the It Is Canon Now debate, at least from what I could tell on Tumblr. Though considering this is Tumblr, I can think of some reasons, lol.) This happens in the games as well, except the fact I do feel those lean a lot less into deliberate ship teasing like the comic does.
And you know.... if there is so much to be teased in IDW and so much "canon" and every single issue at this point contains a different character for Sonic to be making his smug face at while they simp and/or get all tsundere... maybe it is a clear sign that all this means nothing and is only put in to make fans go "!!!!!! THEY APPROVED MY SHIP I AM SUPERIOR NOW TO ALL OTHER SHIPS CUZ IT IS IN OFFICIAL [*cough, cough*] MEDIA!!1!!1" as opposed to actually going anywhere for Sonic ship-wise? Not that the fans will ever realise that, sigh.
I noticed, actually. The only non-Sonic ships that so far have been teased are Whispangle (and how), Knuxamy in #62, and absolutely accidentally Staregg in the MV arc lol (I don't care how accidental it was, Staregg OTP in my heart :< starline totally wanted to clap those eggcheeks don't @ me)
I think I saw a tweet jokingly calling Sonic a slut when #63 dropped? Don't quote me on that though, I don't remember the phrasing but it was a joke about how many people he has flirted with recently lol (including the heavy Sonknux vibes of Frontiers)
(it's also funny that Sonamy gains far less traction than all those other ships lol. Maybe it's because it's almost "canon" and so not as interesting. Or maybe we know why :^) )
But yeah. I understand enjoying the crumbs of ship teasing, I really do, especially for the minor ones such as Sonaze (Sonanolin is kinda funny though lol, I doubt that one has many fans). But there's a difference between "HOLY SHIT THEY HELD HANDS THAT'S CUTE" and "HOLY SHIT THEY HELD HANDS IT'S TOTALLY CANON GUYS!!!". And cynically, the overabundance of teases involving Sonic can be explained as 1) him being the protagonist and the more interesting character to ship, to generate views and attention (only, like, 6 people cared about the Knuxamy tease and i was one of them), and 2) the dude is so irrelevant in his own comic that this is the best they can think for him. The OCs deal with a semi-serious plot, and the titular character protagonist of the massive franchise IDW Sonic is attached to is reduced to shallow fanfic fuel. Granted, I'll take slut Sonic over Preachy Pope Sonic any time of the day, but you get what I mean.
The Sonadow teasing is IMO the worst. Sonic emotionally manipulates Shadow in #6 by making leverage on the way he had been twisted to carry out Gerald's evil plans? OMG THEY'RE TOTALLY SHARING BEDROOM EYES SONIC SO WANTS TO FUCK HIS BF <3 Shadow is an utter cunt for the entirety of the Chao Racing arc? AWWWWW MY LITTLE GAY BABIESSSSSSS SONIC IS SO HAPPY TO FALL IN HIS ARMS AS SHADOW INSULTS HIMMMMM <3 NVM THAT SHADOW SAID IN #19 THAT SONIC DESERVED TO BE PAINFULLY INFECTED <3 <3 <3 And you know what I also roll my eyes at "I heart you too Shadow" from Prime, for how out of context it was taken. I didn't watch Prime in full, but I did read IDW, and there is no way you can see a healthy chemistry between Sonic and Shadow if you actually pay attention to the whole story and dialogue. ... the fact that Flynn hosted a whole Bumblekast episode dedicated to Sonadow at the end of Pride Month also doesn't help, he deliberately fanned the flames because he knew how much his fans would eat from his hand :\
As for the games, yeah, the ship teasing is usually played for laughs or subtle and understated. Amy went from comically chasing Sonic, to having more serious moments such as her hugging him in the ending of Frontiers. Knuckles and Rouge had some odd tension by the end of their arc in SA2. Sonic and Blaze had that whole "slowly holding hands" moment at the end of Rush. Sonic and Elise... yeah that one took a decade to be accepted for how prominent it is. ShTH is still the king of teasing ofc :P the series is mostly about friendship, not romantic love.

What are some characters that you dislike, but would in theory be interested in "fixing" if you were to write them?
Since there are quite a few characters that I'm not overly fond of (many of whom come from the comics… funny that), I'll focus on the ones whom I've already thought of more specific changes than "they would cease to be a below-average fictional character".
Diamond Cutters: Make them not complete idiots pls. This can be helped by Mimic not looking like an obviously evil villain, or at least disguising himself to look less blatant when in their presence. I would also give them more screentime so they can be remembered for more than just dying. Maybe I'd give them a redesign too, cause some of their designs weirdly bother me.
G.U.N. Commander: I don't hate the Commander, but the logic that went into his vendetta against Shadow was more galaxy brain than they probably intended when taken at face value. So to justify it even a smidge more, maybe the Commander knows the truth the whole time, but his sorrow and anger has clouded his perspective, to the point where he's ended up gaslighting himself for the sake of having a scapegoat, and it's not until he confronts Shadow in person that he can no longer deny the truth anymore, and finally begin the process of moving on… just like Shadow himself.
Merlina: Another one that I don't hate per say, but she was rather underwhelming for all the praise she got as a rare anti-villain in the series. Give her more screentime as her true anti-villainous self so that we can get more of a feel for her motives beyond Sonic going "But that's bad >:(" Sonic of course would still characteristically debunk her intentions without a second thought, but at least this way, they wouldn't ONLY be brought up so that Sonic can say No to it.
Mephiles: As much as I hate Mephiles, I'll give him one thing: his concept has some meat to it. While villains like Scourge and Eggman Nega are literally just Evil Sonic and "Better" Eggman respectively, meaning there's not as much flexibility to work with, the Solaris backstory is actually interesting, and in stark contrast to Mephiles and Iblis, I actually like Solaris' design(s). Since its a bird-like entity in comparison to Chaos being aquatic, I would take the contrasts further, and make Solaris to Blaze's world what Chaos is to Sonic's world.
As such, I would prefer not to divide Solaris into two less interesting halves. But if we must stick with Mephiles-as-Mephiles, then I actually don't mind the crystallized look for him. It's the Shadow recolour part that I'm not a fan of, and it's not even justified by the plot all that much anyway, so I'd change his species to either a bird because Solaris, or a lizard as an allusion to Iblis (and because the idea of Mephiles looking like an evil Gex amuses me).
As for his characterization, since the Solaris backstory is similar to that of Chaos, I'd make him an Anti-Chaos, in the sense that he started off similar, but whereas Chaos was fully sympathetic and eventually got neutralized, Mephiles grew worse in his turmoil and never looked back. So he wouldn't be a completely different character altogether, but there'd be a twinge of depth to flesh him out. You could take the parallel even further by having Eggman successfully control Mephiles/Solaris at the end.
I would also go all in on his complexity addiction, by framing it as a side-effect of his backstory-induced insanity. He can improvise on the spot relatively well, but his attempts to plan things out on a grander scale tend to have obvious cracks that can be exploited by whoever's savvy enough to notice them. This, combined with his arrogance born out of being a half-god, could be his downfall when pitted against Eggman, as the good doctor is a lot more capable of longer term planning despite the occasional oversights, and has already had experience with these types thanks to the Chaos incident.
Starline: He keeps his simp card.

3,5,7,10,11,16,22 and 13,you said 3 years but what has changed since nice then?
EEEEEE tysm for the ask!!
3.) any recurring images/elements?
I'm not really that good at using motifs tbh, but I have a lot of scattered feathers deliberately placed in a few scenes. Smoke as well, even though I haven't illustrated any of those yet. I'll leave the interpretation to the readers :]
5.) pick a theme song for the tv adaptation.
Laplace's Angel by Will Wood! (this has been the theme song from before my Will Wood phase started, it's just got very similar themes)
7.) how would you describe the relationships between the characters in the story within eight words or less?
Not friends, just people sharing the same pain.
10.) if your story is titled, why did you choose that title?
It was always going to be called after whatever I named the organization. I had this idea of a kind of cultish group of assassins who worshipped a god of hunting. Since all the characters are animals hunting is pretty much just murder in this world, after all. My placeholder name for it was Artemis' Children, but I wanted to create my own mythology since I know virtually nothing about irl myths. the name Ullyca (and Ramedin while we're on it) was a result of me mashing words together at 1am until it sounded right. (I think it sounds cool though)
11.) give a general summary of the plot/world/characters.
Set in a world populated by several species of anthropomorphic animals, a serval named Umbra finds herself covered in blood, a body at her feet. With no memory of what happened, yet desperate to keep her involvement in this event from coming to light, she winds up making a deal with an organization of hitmen known as the Children of Ullyca, and by the time she realizes she's in over her head, it's too late to turn back.
16.) imagine the entire story takes place but in the meantime the characters all also have tumblr. what kind of (terrible) tumblr posts would happen?
Ahhhahahaha yk I'm pretty sure Fier has a tumblr (if anyone in this series does it's them) but for the other ones I'm absolutely sure Amala would be blazing Umbra's vent posts all the time, Hadron would do nothing except rb the worst takes known to mankind, Rena would have a bait account and Uriel just uses his to promote his fanfiction. Not sure what Kan would use his for, but something tells me he keeps getting blocked because he never made a profile and everyone thinks he's a bot.
22.) you have been given unlimited funds to make two adaptations of some sort, however you cannot make any other adaptations of any other sort. which two formats do you choose?
Ohhhh this is a tough one. I've always thought CoU would make for a banger animated series but for the second adaptation? Maybe a novel. I would have really loved for it to be a novel (even if the comic medium does fit better)
13.) how long have you been working on this project? what has changed from the outset?
SO much has changed in the past three years. Hell, not even joking this thing started as a bunch of Beastars ocs until I realized they didn't have anything to do with Beastars anymore and I was just a furry. Now, aside from the anthros and the canniballism, they have absolutely nothing in common.
The architecture has changed, it used to be just normal human cities but somewhere between the original chapters and the Call to Action entry I changed the buildings to use more natural elements like trees and cliffsides. I still struggle with it (a lot) but I love how lively and a little wild it looks.
Some designs have also changed, the uniforms used to all be plain dark grey jumpsuits but now all of them have their own unique design for each character for different purposes (Kan's uniform has armor plates, Rena's is a wetsuit, etc.) Out of all the characters, Kan has changed the most physically. I didn't know how to make the "grizzled war veteran" look I wanted so he just kinda looked... weird. Also he didn't have any scars which I later realized was stupid, he's been an assassin for 20 years.
Speaking of characters, Umbra's character has changed a LOT. She used to be the definition of an edgelord, a cold hearted killer with no remorse. However that was boring as shit and I thought it would make for a more compelling story if she really didn't WANT to join the CoU but was pressured into it.
I used to post pages on Instagram (i know, ew) but I realized the story was very disorganized and stopped to work on the script. I'm remaking the first chapter bc my art has... definitely improved. This is 2021 vs. 2023:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know they say don't redraw old pages but... I think you get why I started over in this case lol

I took a peek at r/Edelgard. They’re actually mixed about the story. They love that Edelgard wasn’t trying to kill anyone and teacher Jeritza confirming their theory; but they don’t like Edelgard seeming softer for going to Rhea and are afraid of the story still ending up a golden ending that proves her wrong.
I'm not going to say anything about Edelgard in Three Hopes until I've done her route in the demo, but Jeritza is so comically terrible as a teacher that it comes off as the writers needing to fill that third teaching slot for a single chapter and not wanting to invent a new character in Byleth's place. Jeritza outright leaves the Lions (and I assume also the Deer) in Chapter 3 to go with the Eagles to Enbarr, and he's still got his bloodlust and catatonic-sounding voice acting to make him seem really unsuited for the job. I'm guessing that the non-Eagles routes won't totally drop the Agarthan plot points just because Arval is all but confirmed to be affiliated with them, but where I'm looking right now Jeritza and probably also real!Monica look like issues for Scarlet Blaze to focus on.
I do not anticipate Three Hopes turning any non-Agarthans into unambiguous villains, because IS and Koei-Tecmo need to keep these characters marketable and have undoubtedly benefitted from the last three years of fandom faction wars. This is why even from the trailers we were able to see that Edelgard and Dimitri have been visually softened from their Three Houses post-timeskip looks, and so far with the Lions I've been sort of seeing the beginnings of that with how the writing sidesteps Dimitri's PTSD and other issues. There's just not enough time in the severely abbreviated plot to draw those issues out, and we already know that Dimitri's never going to have his full psychotic break because he's not going to lose Dedue. Even so Felix is still calling him a boar and Rufus is saying there's something unsettling in Dimitri's eyes...but the player would need to be familiar with Three Houses to have any kind of context on what's up with that. Maybe this stuff will come out more in supports or exploration (which is quite minimal now but may open up more later?), but for now the characterization overall feels thinner and less...risky, I suppose. I'll have to see how this affects Edelgard and Claude, as I'm sure it will.

Alright so I just finished Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions (for like the 8th time, definition of a comfort game)
For anyone curious, it runs nearly flawlessly on the steam deck. I ran into two or three crashes and got nearly 100% completion which is pretty good for PS3 emulation imo. Some minor audio issues but only in the pre-rendered cutscenes, and could probably be fixed by tweaking the settings on the emulator a little but I never touched that. Anything actually running in the engine worked fine, no glitches or bugs I hadn't experienced playing it on actual hardware.
Anyway, I love love love this game. It was what introduced me to Spider-Man Noir and 2099 and I have very fond memories of reading and rereading the Wikipedia page, falling down a rabbit hole and learning all the stuff about the comics I (at the time) couldn't access. Playing the game again as an adult with a more developed, critical eye, I can see a lot of flaws with the game, but also really get to the meat of what made me love it so much.
Wayyy too much to say but I'll drop some thoughts under the cut
Noir's sections would have been better if there was more variety and different ways to deal with the situations (Spider-Man PS4 has very similar stealth mechanics but they're much better refined, usually give you the option to just go in guns blazing outside of specific challenges and story moments, and give you ways of distracting enemies so you have more control over the situation and room for strategy. That's what this game needed.)
2099 was probably my favorite, Miguel is probably my favorite Spider-Man outside of 616 Peter and maybe Noir depending on how he's written. It's interesting that they chose such a mature voice for Miguel but reused a lot of stuff from the Timestorm storyline, which implies a way younger version of 2099. This probably had the best bosses, Hobgoblin 2099, Scorpion 2099 and Doc Ock 2099. 2/3 are original characters created for this game specifically. I wouldn't mind seeing this version of Hobgoblin come back in some capacity, maybe in the comics. I do wish they brought in more 2099 classic stuff though.
Ultimate is probably the most satisfying in terms of moment to moment gameplay, and I love that the cell shaded art style makes it feel like a graphically enhanced version of Ultimate Spider-Man (PS2). Almost makes me wish that game got a remake, but this was a very satisfying alternative. A lot of continuity nods to the comics, it can seem a lot like Ultimate Peter and Amazing are so similar that they didn't need both, but I really think the worlds they exist in are different enough to be worthwhile.
Amazing is where the game falls flat for me, unfortunately. The art style isn't as fun or unique as the others, the choices of bosses aren't as interesting (aside from Sandman, that level is perfect). He's really the all-rounder, no real gimmick to make him stand out. I think this version could've benefitted from some retooling. Maybe if his combat had been based more on speed and chaining hits rather than just being Ultimate without the crowd control capabilities. I also think they could've gone with a better choice than Juggernaut, and I'd maybe shift the order so Sandman was the first boss and make Kraven a little more difficult. I think I'd swap Juggy for The Lizard and make the level focus on chasing him through the sewers while the tablet lets him turn other people into lizards. Something like that
Overall, I love this game. I think it's a big part of why Mysterio is one of my favorite villains, and it was a big contributor to my love of multiverse stories.
I'll play Edge of Time next when I get a minute and probably have a more detailed post about my thoughts on both games then.

This was a character I put together for an RP with a group of people some months ago. It really didn't take off, and eventually everyone decided on another fandom which is all good. Sometimes I get heavily into one thing, and then fall back into other shows or games, etc. Thing is, I was then left with this spider without a "purpose."  I'll probably think of something to do with her in the future, but for now I've got too many other projects I've gotta get going.
Will maybe do some more concept of Willow when the time comes, but in the mean time, I'll give her a little attention in my gallery!
Yeah, so she was actually supposed to be working with Eggman in that RP, and so I created this whole @$$ gun inspired by the needler from Halo.  I made sure to incorporate his signature pallet and even the mechanical aesthetic of the Egg Carrier. Each bullet vile consists of spider venom to induce temporal paralysis, making for an easier capture of... Well, "Pests." Her weapon is only drawn when necessary, typically as a last resort when she can't fight off an enemy in close combat. She does have both webbing ability and more "legs," but usually has them tucked away and will either use all for climbing or assisting in battle. This will also make it a lot easier for me to draw her if I do decide to include her in a comic later.
Tumblr media
Willow's base design was actually somewhat inspired more by Blaze the Cat (more so in the eyes, and how swiftly she can be). The back markings were intended to be either a significant part of her peoples.............
..... A-hem... "BaCk sToRy..." or what have you, or as an evil branding done by "poachers" who would capture and extract the venom in these spider farms for their own personal gain. (AND NOT for the detergent...) Yeah, I think maybe that sounds a bit cooler to be honest. --Not the detergent!!! Lmao XD
Anyways! That's pretty much all for now! Hope you guys have all been well!
Many good vibes coming your way!!! ) :3

Weekly Update: 3/27/2023-4/1/2023
Good news: there's a "down week" at the factory, come Monday, so there's gonna be more time for creative work then. As for what I'm planning, it involves further work on the first comic, for the Claire's Companions series. Thanks to the work on Puppy Eyes and Doll Eyes, I've figured out how to go about comics, both in presentation and publishing. In regards to the latter part, I figured I can upload things, page by page, making for related commentary on each specific page. Then, once I have up to 30 pages-- or manage to get an entire chapter's worth of pages uploaded, whichever point is reached first --I'll post them all together, for viewer convenience, and to make for a post that can be "blazed" and thus get advertised to a potential audience.
Unfortunately, the one thing I can't decide on comics is postponing any page-drawing, until I finish the COMPLETE "book" script, or start drawing when a CHAPTER is completed instead. I mean, you wanna be able to go back and fix something in the script, before you get to work; but you also don't want to put off on delivering new pages for too long, and it may be helpful to draw when I need a break from writing-- and vice versa. Well, we'll see...
I also need to do some more character design concepts-- especially in Ricky's case, since he appears in the original literary version of Getting Your Goat and therefore will appear in the comic. One thing I know for certain: concept designs will ALWAYS be in traditional format only. Gotta make those markers, papers and the like worthwhile, y'know? Maybe I'll also use traditional art for a few other things, but we'll see.
Anyway, hope you survive whatever pranks today may bring your way, and have a good week. Auf Wiedersehen!

Given how the second movie handled Sonic's universe and characters, what characters at this point do you think are most likely to show up in Sonic 3 & Knuckles (that will never get old) and who would you be genuinely shocked by?
(This post contains spoilers for Sonic 2.)
Okay so part of me thinks that Shadow opens the floodgates for them to go beyond the Classic cast, but I also think that Shadow is just so absurdly popular (arguably still the second most popular character behind only Sonic himself) that he was always a shoe-in
I think right now I would say Amy is probably a relatively safe bet, just because she's a staple of the franchise who's been around since the Genesis days, and at a certain point you gotta start letting the girls in on the fun. Plus, she's a key player in Shadow's arc, so like. Duh. But who knows. I'm kind of surprised she's not there already.
Metal Sonic is also an A-lister who would be easy to include, but they might find him redundant next to Shadow. (You can absolutely have the two act as foils to each other, but I just don't know if they'd consider that too much for one movie to introduce.)
Like I said before, if we've now got both a Knuckles show and a Shadow-focused movie coming out, then they share a major supporting character, and that's Rouge. (Yes I am also a known Rouge stan so I'm biased lol.) If they wanna loosely adapt SA2 like how this movie loosely adapted S3&K, then Rouge is obviously a key part of that story, especially if they spent part of that movie setting up GUN. (Hell, have her interact with Agent Stone since he's infiltrating GUN!) And if they're trying to go full Cinematic Universe on us then setting her up in the Knuckles show so they don't have to do as much work introducing her in Sonic 3 makes a lot of sense. The problem with Rouge is just, you know... the boobs. It's the boobs. But I want to see them try to make Rouge work in live action because either they keep her as-is and general audiences are completely bewildered by the furry bait character, or they downplay it and thousands of people online all cry out in agony. Either way it's going to be very funny.
Other than that, I really don't know. Anyone in SA2 feels fairly likely just because they seem to be building towards a version of that story. The Knuckles show is really the big question. Beyond Rouge, people are guessing maybe the Chaotix, but like... for one, Knuckles isn't actually associated with them anymore, and two, as much as I like them, they aren't important characters to set up ASAP if the focus is on stuff from the iconic Genesis and Adventure stuff
Oh, and I'd be surprised if we didn't get a quick Big cameo as a gag before the end of this
Really I just want them to use all of the characters. I'm growing tired of Cinematic Universe shit where you have to watch a bunch of different movies and streaming miniseries as homework for other movies and streaming series, but I'll watch the shit out of any Sonic stuff they make if it keeps being this fun. Give us the Sol Dimension miniseries with Blaze. Give us Silver time traveling. Add Omega as the funny evil robot, audiences will eat that up. Give it to me
As for who I'd be most shocked to see, idk. Literally anyone from the comics? The Babylon Rogues, because they barely exist outside of the Riders games? Gemerl? Honey? Marine? Cream? Actually out of the major recurring cast Cream might be the least likely to ever show up lol. Sorry Cream

Hi Everyone, With the new Sonic Trailers out and my unbelievable Hive mind Connection with Some of Sega's greatest and brightest staff, Allow me to once again Try and Predict the premise of the next Sonic Game or Sonic things.
I am so incredibly sad to say that I have successfully guessed tons of Sonic plots and ideas. Though since I never got the opportunity to post anything for several different reasons nobody will believe me.
That's cool though at this point not really mad or care that much. I have come to terms I'm being discouraged from pursuing any related Career stuff I had wanted to pursue in the area.
Just for the wall so far
1.I created a Tail Transforming character (Based off of tails) all the way back in like 2008-2010. Her Name Was Sammy. She also had two tails like tails but her main perk was it transforming into different thing. I did actually post about her in amino once prior to tangled release.
1A. Fast Forward. Tangle. A tail Transforming hero. Crazy
2. I had really wanted a sonic fighting game. Like I could totally see how one would happen. Had never heard of sonic the fighters prior. Pretty much had the idea around 2010
2A. Bam Rise of lyric. Sonic Fighting game. Wow. Incredible. How could this happen.
3.ahh heres a good one. Around 2011 while I was still doodling and spriting my sonic comic/animation series storylines and plotlines, I came up with this villain that would force sonic and my heroes to go to different worlds (through portals)and battle to win each one before they could finally face him.
One of the world themed was a zombie apocalypse, I liked the idea of someone like Sonic or shadow getting infected because someone with their speed would be hyper fast and make for an interesting dynamic in a Mobian themed apocalypse.
3A. Fast Forward and holy tarp. How in the heck. Zombocalpyse. I admit since I never got to refine my idea they definitely worked it out better. But a male villain who forces the crew to go through portals until they can finally face him? With a give or take here or there that's pretty much the premise of the Idw comics during that era. At this point it had happened already so much I wasn't even surprised.
4.You can't tell me there Is more. So in one of my fan stories I had come up with different wisps(I still have a few new ones I just made) but one of them was pip that alpha wisp, actually posted about this on amino. Basically he gets stronger the more he uses his power. But in one storyline they had to go underwater so I gave him a little Diver suit to wear. That gave me the idea to maybe give the wisps other apparel. Quite recently I thought about giving them little hats and things
4A.Guess.Heckin. What. New trailer drops. Wisps with apparel. I realize it's not the most revolutionary of ideas but are you kidding me.
This isn't even scratching the surface of all of them. But I decided heck, clearly I'm not getting anywhere why not try and guess the new Sonic Game plotline and Sonic movie?Who knows maybe I'll crack open one of their secrets first.
So first in line, the game.
Sonic Colors 2 not the remaster of sonic colors 1.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sonic Colors two takes place right after Forces. Since the phantom ruby either fritzed out or exploded it sent Eggman in the wisp galaxy. He only ever grabbed a few planets before via tractor beam but now he's in the whole system. So he decides to give the wisps another go. Except this time, he wants to awaken the great Wisp or "The World Devourer" (Cough Cough MerloW?) after he finds ruins talking about it.
Once again Needing his aid and turning to Sonic and Tails with his now perfect translator, Wiz Sonic and Tails must now explore the other planets in the wisps solar system in a race against Eggman to stop him before he releases the The World Devourer.
While on this subject prepare for even more wisps and even more planets. We already know there are other wisps we haven't seen planets for thanks to the wisps in lost world. All on all I think this is a pretty likely explanation. Might see wisps combinations like we had in sonic simulator maybe not.
Oh and btw
Tumblr media
This? Sorry that cube effect is from spike wisp. No Infinite :'(
Now onto the sonic movies! Won't spoil too much but here is what your lineup is probably gonna look like if they continue to succeed.
1.Sonic ofc
2.Sonic,Tails,Knuckles and the first Chaos emerald
3.Sonic Tails, Knuckles, Maybe Amy, all the other chaos emeralds and Perfect Chaos. Yep the whole second movie is a setup to perfect chaos trying to flood earth. Ah so we might get Tikal back! Yayyy
4. Shadow the edgehog. It's only natural, he comes next in Game order anyways, plus we have already seen what Gun is willing to do to get sonic. Literally hired robotnik.
5.This is actually my sister's guess but Silver and Blaze. I think it's a pretty solid guess.
Tumblr media
Well that's pretty much all I have to say. Discuss.

Prologue to my Sonic IDW synopsis and thoughts.
So we have a lot of ground to cover, but I'll try to be brief.
Firstly, I'm coming in off the heels of only vaguely reading snippets of what happened during the Penders/Archie Era. Safe to say, that was the big reason I stayed as far away as I could from the comics. Penders being the most significant reason sega has stopped trying to world build with this IP coupled with the poor reception of Sonic 06. Not to mention the declining overall health of the comics industry and unpredictable release schedules, I haven't had much of a desire to read comics as of late. I think eons ago back when ipads were the king of gifts to give an elementary schooler in the mid-2000s, there was a sonic comic app? I vaguely remember it being somewhat nonfunctional and mostly had comics from the SATAM show. I'm not into this aspect of Sonic at all, especially with the vague and often confusing royalty plotlines or the fact that Mobius isn't earth and it's ruled by sonic's family or it's ruled by sally's family--? Or Eggman isn't just a hyper-capitalist theme park designer ala Walt Disney and he's a robot or the all extremely confusing robot politics of a cute animal world. Either way, it didn't "wow" me as a youngin other than the novelty of reading something that much older than me. I have a preference to the Japanese 90s sonic over the western "shark fin" version. That's just me. That being said, by the time I blow through the current run of IDW comics, I might go back and read the Archie stuff if I don't get my fix by then.
Secondly-- since the new IDW comics sort of take place in a nebulous place after the events of Sonic Forces, I feel like I should talk about my feelings about that game in particular. And I've beat it about twice on my Xbox one and haven't touched it since. I think it's the most ambitious the brand has been in quite awhile and therefore I'm willing to go easier on it. And from what I've read a lot of Mods have already gone about fixing the physics of the game, but I found that truthfully with enough patience I can get used to finicky controls. What I can't get used to is the camera and the very precise enemy placement/hit detection. Maybe it's just a me issue, my vision has always been poor, but I've had the hardest time trying to see the enemies in the drawn-back 2D portions of the game and would get sniped/knocked back by enemies that take me completely by surprise. The "classic" portion of the game was just me dying over and over again in increasingly pathetic ways because I couldn't see A GODDAMN THING!
Anyway, this is a tangent.
The story overall in Sonic Forces is again probably the first tentative steps into ambitious storytelling and world-building for the sonic world. Still, with some of the drawbacks with Boom and 06-- the tone is kind of all over the place. Inconsistency at this point is a brand staple; I'm so used to it I didn't even bat an eye at how the tone would completely whip around to the fact that Sonic was tortured and presumed dead even though he appears physically fine when we see him literally in the next scene. Sonic Forces feels like it harkens back to that Freedom Fighters-- SATAM era of sonic with the Army and War aesthetic except without all the parts that make me roll my eyes. And the tone feels very tongue-in-cheek how that show was in spite of the themes, which is a comparison I don't see too often when talking about the game. However, I don't think it's bad; it's different. It's a step in a direction that I haven't seen from the brand in a long time and want to see more, but it's unlikely I will-- so I just kind of have to think of the thought process that went into making the story and what they were going for versus the end product. I was glad to see the Chaotix, Silver, and Blaze make an appearance. And Shadow being the cause of the conflict, feels distinctly out of character for SA2 shadow but feels at home with this new self-aware comedy angle the games are skewing towards. But I find it 👀~interesting~👀 that Infinite thinks the best revenge on Shadow is to capture Sonic using Shadow's image and basically giving into that fear Mephiles tried to tap into in 06. The fact No one thinks of Shadow as a person with complex emotions but as a weapon. A weapon specifically the people he cares about will put down on a moments notice.
Though I guarantee you no one wants me to read into thaaaaaaaat!
In a medium like a comic you can spend more time on the details and emotional pieces the characters feel. So I think the comic being post-forces is such a rich bank to draw from in terms of character arcs to pull from. It just makes me wonder if Gadget or Infinite-- or the jackal squad would show up? I feel like this medium would be the best to explore those particular characters and dynamics the game introduced. I wonder if new gems like the Phantom Ruby will be at least explored in depth in the comic. Probably not but hey, that's what we have fan projects for-- right?
