*Minor spoilers in character bios*
⬗ Sophia Colbo
“If it looks like you won’t make it, I’ll be here to catch you. Whenever you’re ready.”
Sophia Colbo is a former Harmont Guardian and a current agent of the Watch. After her own crucial mistake resulted in a traumatic accident, she stepped down from the Guard to take up field work, scoping out potential threats in the city and gathering intel. Despite the smooth transition, her past days as the sharpshooter Ace continue to haunt her at every turn.
Sophia is scrappy, tough, and competent, taking immense pride in her work and refusing to accept failure or dissatisfaction. She'll never back away from a job (or an ally in need), even if it means putting herself in danger.
⬗ Janus
“We’re all on the same side here, whether you like it or not, so your cooperation would be much appreciated."
Janus is a street-smart vigilante working alongside a shadowy organization with ambitious plans for the city of Harmont. Despite his alliance, he mainly operates under his own agenda without any regards to authority.
Snarky and sarcastic but surprisingly empathetic, he isn't easily rattled. Janus is used to building up walls and working hard to bury his past from the rest of the world—including himself.
⬗ Harley Manalis
“At this point, I’m starting to get used to the weird.”
Harley Manalis is Sophia's younger sister, but due to their complicated family history and large age gap, they rarely cross paths. She loves to tinker around and discover how different mechanical creations work, considering herself an amateur inventor. After graduating high school, she was offered a robotics scholarship for the prestigious Westheight Institute, but she ultimately turned it down to accept an apprenticeship with her eccentric uncle, the talented but underrated architect Atticus Manalis.
Harley is as intelligent as she is loyal, harboring a secret crush on her one of her best friends that she wishes she could share. She may not have the same tactical experience as her sister, but she, too, has a protective streak—to the point of being impulsive—and may be capable of much more than she realizes.
⬗ Jade de Soto
“Some things can be self-indulgent. You’re allowed to have fun with this, too.”
Jade de Soto is best friends with Harley and Max, though certain feelings for the former continue to transform and grow stronger. She has a talent for chemistry, though her passion lies in street art. Participating in the medium as an anonymous artist to avoid scrutiny from the public, she works to build up a reputation and prepare her portfolio for the day she steps into the light.
She's incredibly spirited and bright in terms of both brains and personality, loving her friends with dedication and ferocity.
⬗ Max Ahn
“I might not be as strong as you, but I know more about these guys than anyone. I’m not that helpless.”
Max Ahn has been friends with Harley and Jade for many years. He's quiet and reserved, but mentally strong with a dry sense of humor (though he's rarely funny on purpose). He studies law and political science at the Westheight Institute and is extremely close with his family, though together they keep a dark secret, which he learns the hard way once he gets caught in the middle.
At first, he's uncomfortable as a leader, and unsure of himself in moments of high pressure, but as he learns more and starts taking charge, he begins to grow and gain confidence in his own abilities.

wip wednesday
i'm pretty sure i was tagged by someone a whiiiiiile ago during one of those times that my brain forgot tumblr existed. anywho, i'm not gonna tag anyone, but if you see this and wanna tag urself, do itttttt.
for your pain enjoyment, here's a little glimpse of praxia and max allllllllmost getting together (but then not) before the revelation that she's not alex hawthorne and that she's actually a colonist from the hope. keeping a tight lid on your identity long enough to get your sister outta cryo comes with a lot of strings prax wasn't even aware of.
His eyes lock into mine and I feel just for a second that perhaps gravity glitches because I am suddenly lighter than air and just as breathless. I could have spent an eternity there, for all I knew, and looking back I will stand in this moment and savour it because in the next, everything shatters as he whispers, “Alex.” It’s like a slap, the cold water of reality flung in my face, startling me from this dream. He knows me only as this name I wear as a mask and nothing more. Nothing of me. Only Alex Hawthorne, a hollow yet necessary charade. His head dips toward mine, his eyes narrowing before closing completely, and I have to turn away. I can’t do this, not to him.
Max’s brows furrow and I can taste his hesitancy, his confusion, and something within me splinters and breaks, shards poking into every tender spot it can find. I settle my hand against his chest and shake my head. “It’s not you, I … I don’t feel right about this. Not when there’s so much you don’t know.”
He snorts softly. “There something you think I won’t forgive?”
“Not that, I … it’s just you don’t know everything. And you should. If we were to be together.”
“Well why don’t you tell me,” he murmurs, voice like velvet as his lips just barely caress my temple, and I resist every urge that tells me to turn and meet them with mine.
I swallow hard, as if it will harden my resolve, help me stay strong. “I can’t. Not now, not when there’s so much at stake. I wish … I want …” Words begin to escape and I focus on the meticulous stitching of Max’s vestments, the golden threads and trim shining against the dark blue, almost as if it were a beacon shining in the darkness. Yet I close my eyes to it, shaking my head as I lay my own heart on this shrine for sacrifice, my sister’s cryofrozen smile the dagger in my hand. “I have people counting on me, people whose lives I hold in my hands. What I want doesn’t matter, not when they still need help.”
And with that, I finally pull away, not looking back even as it feels as if I’m rending myself in two. Max’s touch lingers against my hand for the barest moment more but fades quickly as our hands drop, as my feet take me swiftly away from the shadow of his door.

Here's Sophia chilling on the streets during a nighttime mission stakeout, completely unamused with the situation. She's been in a few scuffles along the way, but she doesn't let that stop her. No rest for a Watch agent—only Band-Aid.
Janus in all his glory, living his best life. Just don't mind the knife, that's there for flavor. Nothing sketchy going on with this vigilante here, no sir.
Also, Janus condones masking up in times of sickness and of crime.
Harley lookin' hella cute (and I can finally show off her freckles)! I'd never considered this kind of look for her before now, but while experimenting with the hairstyles I fell in love with these adorable space buns!! Making note of this for her character design down the road (which may or may not include a haircut in her future)!
Also, I imagine she and Sophia spent a lot of time at the coast as children and that she loved to collect seaside trinkets—hence the message in the bottle. And or course, Jade made the flower crown for her 💜
While I tend to picture Jade with the hairstyle on the left—big, bouncy, and full of personality—I couldn't resist letting her treat herself to some braids every now and then, like the ones on her right! She also got into a pack of stickers for her golden hour photo shoot!
Finally, here's Max! Still a little beat up from his altercation with the vigilantes, but now he gets to recover by relaxing with his cat, Hudson! He wasn't expecting to have his picture taken right now, but like the sweet boy he is, he played along by awkwardly throwing up the first pose he could think of.

Dr. Max Grivno to speak on ‘Natchez Diplomacy, 1540-1730’ at March 26 meeting of Natchez Historical Society
The public is invited to hear Dr. Max Grivno’s lecture on diplomacy in the early years of Natchez’s history at the Tuesday, March 26 meeting of the Natchez Historical Society. Grivno’s topic is “Natchez Diplomacy, 1540-1730.”
The presentation will be given at the Historic Natchez Foundation at 108 S. Commerce St., in Natchez. The program, which is free to the public, will begin with a social at 5:30 p.m. and the presentation at 6 p.m.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to return to Natchez and to speak to the historical society,” said Grivno. “The previous decade has seen an outpouring of work focused on the Natchez nation -- work that has changed how we understand these people and their place in the history of the Lower Mississippi River Valley. I look forward to sharing some of those findings with the society.”
Grivno is associate professor of History at the University of Southern Mississippi and editor of The Southern Quarterly. Specifically, he will speak about Native American diplomacy in the colonial period in Natchez.
Alan Wolf, a director of the society and its program chair, explained that Dr. Grivno’s presentation will examine how the Natchez wrestled with notable and critical changes diplomatically.
“He will look at Natchez diplomacy with other native peoples and the Natchez attempts to secure alliances with the encroaching European empires, while all the while attempting to maintain their own economic and political independence,” he said.
Grivno has spoken for the society in the past. For example, in November 2022, he gave a lecture on the topic, "Hernando De Soto and the First European Contact with the Mississippi Civilization of the Lower Mississippi Valley." It was well received.
This March 26 program is funded in part by a grant from the Mississippi Humanities Council, through funding by the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Tres de ellos se formaron en la Pequeña Liga Cacique Mara de Maracaibo
LÍDER EN DEPORTES
Las Águilas del Zulia siguen fortaleciéndose de cara a su futuro en la Liga Venezolana de Beisbol Profesional (LVBP) y este lunes concretaron la firma de cuatro prospectos.
Los lanzadores Daniel Colina, Néstor Pirela, el receptor Randy Soto y el outfielder Ibrahim Ruiz estamparon su rúbrica con el equipo rapaz.
El doctor Luis Rodolfo Machado Silva, presidente del equipo, les dio la bienvenida a los nuevos aguiluchos, quienes estuvieron acompañandos de sus familiares.
Néstor Pirela, de 17 años, es un lanzador derecho que trabajó 11.2 capítulos en la DSL de los Cachorros de Chicago. “Estoy felíz de lograr este sueño de firmar con las Águilas”, dijo el diestro admirador de jugadores como Henry Rodríguez, Carlos González y Silvino Bracho. “En mi repertorio de pitcheos se encuentra una recta promediada en 93 millas”.
El derecho dio sus primeros pasos en la Pequeña Liga Santa Lucía y Coquivacoa, de Maracaibo.
Tres son representantes de la Pequeña Liga Cacique Mara
Ibrahim Ruiz, es un outfielder de 16 años que también dará sus primeros pasos en la LVBP con los rapaces. “Puedo jugar en las tres posiciones de los jardines. Puedo correr, batear para contacto y espero pronto poder debutar en la liga”, explicó el marabino, quien jugó dos latinoamericanos de Pequeñas Ligas representando a Cacique Mara.
Por su parte, Daniel Colina, lanzador de 16 años, también señaló su satisfacción por unirse al club naranja. “Para mí y para mi familia es un honor firmar con las Águilas del Zulia”, dijo el derecho, quien jugó en la PL Cacique Mara y aspira a seguir los pasos de su ídolo, el pitcher Max Sherzer.
Mientras que, Randy Soto, receptor de 16 años, aseguró cumplir un sueño de infancia. “Siempre he sido fanático de las Águilas del Zulia y estar aquí me da mucha alegría”, explicó Soto, quien batea a la zurda y jugó en la PL Cacique Mara.

Besouro Azul, baseado nos quadrinhos da DC, segue o jovem mexicano Jaime Reyes (Xolo Maridueña) que, recém-formado, volta para casa cheio de aspirações para o futuro. Em meio a uma busca por seu propósito no mundo - e um emprego - o destino o surpreende ao colocar em seu caminho uma antiga relíquia de biotecnologia alienígena, conhecida como Escaravelho.
