CRIMINALS DON’T ‘GROW OUT OF CRIME:’ That’s the conclusion of a 10-year study by the U.S. Sentencing Commission that found, according to Hans Bader, “over an eight-year period, violent offenders returned to crime at a 63.8% rate. The median time to rearrest was 16 months for these violent offenders. So, most violent offenders released from prison committed more crimes. Even among those offenders over age 60, 25.1% of violent offenders were rearrested.”
Of course, nobody with even minimal common sense needed a federal study to know that criminals typically continue being criminals once they spent time in prison, if only because prison is where they learn new criminal techniques and skills.

Dwight Trible - Ancient Future - new album on Gearbox Records with a sweet guest list
Today, the inimitable jazz vocalist, activist, and nominal godfather of the LA jazz scene, Dwight Trible, returns with the announcement of his new album “Ancient Future”. Out 17th March via London jazz aficionados and analog specialists Gearbox Records , the new record follows his critically acclaimed album “Mothership”, which was released in 2019 and saw him collaborate with the likes of Kamasi Washington, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, and more. On “Ancient Future”, Trible collaborates once again with Kamasi Washington (saxophone), as well as lauded LA multi-instrumentalist Georgia Anne Muldrow (vocals), who is signed to Brianfeeder and has previously worked with the likes of Madlib, Denzel Curry, Mos Def, Blood Orange, and Brittany Howard. Elsewhere, the record also features double Grammy winning pianist, John Beasley; Kamaal Williams touring drummer Greg Paul; gospel bassist André Gouché; percussionist and backing vocalist Megashia Jackson; LA guitarist G. E. Stinson; and percussionist Rene Fisher. A key figurehead in the LA jazz scene, Dwight Trible is a legend in waiting. With an incredible career spanning decades, he has played a pivotal role in creating as much jazz history through his work and inspiration in the new wave of US jazz, as he should be noted for in his undoubtable vocal and songwriting talent. He is the vocalist for the Pharoah Sanders Quartet and has collaborated with a huge variety of artists such as Kamasi Washington (singing on ‘The Epic’ and ‘Heaven and Earth’), J Dilla, Life Force Trio, Carlos Nino, John Beasley, Bobby Hutcherson, Charles Lloyd, and is also the vocal director for the Horace Tapscott Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra - a Los Angeles institution with a history stretching back forty years and an active engagement in the city's Black community since the Watts Uprising. Trible has also been on the forefront of the US jazz resurgence, working as executive director of the hugely crucial arts space The World Stage - a vital component to Leimert Park, which has been the epicentre of African-American art and culture in Los Angeles since the late 1960s. Artists such as Kamasi Washington and Terrace Martin have credited the venue as having helped to shape their sounds and the sense of community surrounding the scene, whilst also being an essential influence to the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Biz Markey, as well as number of artists from LA tastemaker label Brainfeeder and more. An avid and passionate activist, an enabler of the local scene and a figurehead in the LA jazz community, Trible’s focus is rarely self-seeking, always facing outward his focus is largely centred on giving, inclusion and teaching, whilst also inspiring others and expressing himself both on-stage on-record behind the scenes. Dwight Trible; vocals John Beasley; piano and keyboards André Gouché; electric bass guitar Greg Paul; drums and percussion G. E. Stinson; electric guitar Megashia Jackson; percussion and background vocals on ‘African Drum’ Rene Fisher; percussion on ‘African Drum’ Kamasi Washington; tenor saxophone on ‘African Drum’ Georgia Anne Muldrow; vocals on ‘Black Dance’ All tracks composed by Dwight Trible, John Beasley, André Gouché, Greg Paul and G. E. Stinson All lyrics written by Dwight Trible and Megashia Jackson

1) Cryptocurrencies: The Complete Guide to Investing In and Taking Advantage of the New Digital Currency Revolution - Dan Morehead
This book ok is for beginners who want to get familiar with the basics of how cryptocurrencies work. It provides a basic introduction to blockchain technology, wallets, mining, and other terminology that may seem alien at first. The text is heavy on graphs and statistics and offers a glimpse into how the crypto market works.
2) Bitcoin for Dummies - Jered Diamond
This book provides a crash course for total novices about bitcoin, digital currency, and blockchain Technologyhnology. It explains what these terms mean and why they are so important. WARNOCK MISREPRESENTS HALF-BROTHER’S CONVICTION: Sen. Ralph Warnock (D-GA) not infrequently points to his half-brother’s conviction in 1997 on drug-trafficking charges as the product of “systemic racism.”
Alana Goodman of The Washington Free Beacon reached a radically different conclusion after reviewing hundreds of pages of documents in the case:
“But hundreds of pages of court records reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon tell a more complicated story: Coleman was a cop with the Savannah Police Department when he was convicted of facilitating a cross-country cocaine trafficking operation in 1996 and 1997 — and once warned that he could send a drug dealer’s ‘black ass’ to prison if the dealer didn’t pay Coleman more money.
“The details conflict with Warnock’s accounts, which omit that Coleman was a police officer and portray him as a victim of law enforcement corruption rather than a participant in it.”
More specifically, Goodman explains that:
“Prosecutors allege Coleman received $46,000 in dirty payments and helped traffic a total of 28.2 kilograms of cocaine between November 1996 and March 1997.
“On Nov. 21, 1997, Coleman was convicted by a jury of conspiring and attempting to aid and abet the distribution of cocaine, and with carrying a firearm during a drug trafficking offense. He was sentenced to life in prison, and two of his co-conspirators were sentenced to 17 years and 19 years, respectively.”
Warnock lobbied President Barack Obama for a presidential pardon for his half-brother and has often compared the emotional toll on his family with that suffered by the families of Black victims of police brutality.
Georgia voters will deliver their own verdict on Warnock in November.

The cost of benefits are rising faster than the available funds to cover them—tax revenues, individual premiums and trust funds—with the result that, absent any reforms, Medicare insolvency is projected for 2026 and Social Security’s for 2033, according to the reports made public Aug. 31. . . .
“According to the report that came out today, the Social Security trust fund will be depleted a year earlier than last projected. That means workers in the future will take a 25 percent cut in benefits, even though they’ll still be contributing to Social Security with every single paycheck,” [Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden (D-Ore.)] said. . . .
Heritage Foundation Senior Fellow Doug Badger told The Epoch Times that political will is the key to making progress.
“We need leaders in both parties to get serious about fiscal matters in general and about middle-class entitlements in particular. According to the trustees’ report, this is the worst condition the Medicare trust fund has been in since 1997.
“In that year, a Democratic president — Bill Clinton — and a Republican Congress, led by House Speaker Newt Gingrich, agreed on a bipartisan deficit reduction plan that extended the life of the Medicare trust fund.
“Since then, there has been very little interest among leaders of either party in entitlement reform. Until that changes, politicians will continue to promise benefits that government can’t deliver.” . . .
Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, pointed to the basic dilemma facing policymakers, noting that, “acting today, we could fix Social Security with a 27 percent tax increase or 21 percent benefit reduction. If we wait until 2034, those adjustments will have to be about a quarter larger. And there would be little opportunity to phase in changes or give workers the warning they deserve.”
