hello wackus, i'm a big fan of odd nibble, and apart from the writing, something that really impresses me is your diligence in continuing to write this story!
you update it with pretty reliable regularity, and i'm wondering, is this self discipline something you've always been good at? something that's become easier as you crossed into adulthood? something you had to really work on and struggle with? d) some or all of the above or e) none of the above?
i have a lot of trouble updating my projects regularly, and would love to hear about your creative habits!
thanks viv 🥰 the fact that you notice how hard i work to keep up the schedule means a lot!
self-discipline comes naturally to me i think, and it always has. it helps that i get a lot of good reception and that i know people are actively waiting for the updates! so, you're looking at a combination of peer pressure and all the management skills i honed in school.
the most driving factor though is that i go nuts, bananas, absolute bonkers if i don't write 😂 i must, must, must be working on a story at all times or i will have an existential crisis and start dreaming about being pregnant✌️
in short answer i guess it would be d) some of the above!
i wanna add that i get stuck a lot too, and i'm sure almost every creator can say the same. my discipline tips to you viv would be to branch out and work on something out of your comfort zone (which odnlb is for me) and sort of shock your brain into making the juices flow. another i would rec is getting an accountability buddy 👀 i already know one person you could ask 👀👀👀

Panel 4: George combs half of Lucy’s hair up out of the way, and she holds it. George: I always cut my mum’s hair. Here, hold this bit up. Ugh, the back’s a mess! Lucy: Well, I can’t see the back, now can I?
