Bonnie's supposed to look like Elvis in Jailhouse rock. His guitar is ripped straight from Jasper T. Jowls and shades taken from the monkey from The Banana Splits. I kept his bandana from my Toy animatronic designs so he can have something around his neck that isn't just a bow tie. He also doesn't have any actual eyeballs because of the shades. Spooky...

Chica isn't really anything in particular. She's meant to look a little like Helen Henny's 90s design but it's kinda hard with a chef-based character to replicate that thing in the 90s where they tried to make old cartoon characters seem HIP and RAD.

Foxy is much more naked than his previous counterparts! I tried to steer his character into a piratey direction and make him seem more rough.

All in all, it was surprisingly hard to translate my previous designs for the Toys. Like I said earlier, the 90s tried making a bunch of older characters seem younger and cooler for a new generation of kids. Just look at Space Jam. With the Toys, I based them off various old things like 70s CEC, a 50s waitress, an auto mechanic, a WW1 sailor. Something that would make them seem like old and aging characters referencing things no longer relevant, so trying to adapt the characters in a way that seems natural was a bit difficult.

Jesus, what the hell was in that Malta? None of this makes any sense. I knew I shouldn't of drank that!

The number of Maltese dogs registered with the AKC increased very slowly until the 1950s. Since then, the breed has become very popular. The Maltese is one of the most popular breeds among spectators at dog shows and often wins the toy group. He also has an excellent record in the “Best in Show” competition.

Yesterday’s dinner was hot cheese popcorn and Malta Goya. I haven’t had this drink in a long time, and I’m happy to say I’ve warmed up to it.

I remember going to C-town in the Lower East Side with mi Madre. We would always be in the Goya section buying red kidney beans, instant flan mix, rice, sazon seasoning, and malta drinks. All the sales girls were Latina and couldn’t understand why I was calling mi Madre, Ma. But her face looks Chinita they would say to each other in Spanish. I liked it. I think I have the exact opposite of taste buds that the Game Grumps have. A long time ago, they did a 10 minute power hour where they drank specialty soda. They reacted pretty strongly to some so, out of curiosity, I decided to try the “bad drinks” myself.

And...they were all fine to me. Malta Goya, Moxie, Saiteaux Absinthe Botanical Soda...they just tasted like normal soda. In fact, I was a little underwhelmed since i was expecting those drinks to be the absolute worst.

But you know how I know my taste buds are the complete opposite? Because I also tried the soda that the Grumps loved the most, which was Mr. Q Cumber. And that shit was straight up one of the worst sodas I’ve ever drank. Like, I didn’t even want to finish it.
