the fact that rhaena married garmund hightower and had six daughters with him in canon is SO funny to me bc garmund's older brother, lord hightower, had six kids of his own and it's not just possible but frankly likely that the two sets of children married each other, bringing targaryen blood into the main hightower line.

so like, lord leyton hightower and his mad genius daughter malora could very much have targaryen blood. do you KNOW how loudly daemon must be screaming from beyond the grave?

I have a few in my House Hightower tag!

They're definitely one of the coolest houses in Westeros. They have historically dabbled in alchemy and necromancy. They have a Valyrian steel sword called Vigilance (ofc they do). There's a possible maester conspiracy going on. Lord Leyton is obviously doing sorcery up in the High Tower and sending his sons on various errands. There are known to be glass candles in Oldtown. Tower of Sauron symbolism? Future Panopticon if Euron gets his hands on it? In any case, Leyton is clearly a man with a plan.

They're preparing for a massive Lovecraftian showdown against Euron. We're all going to be rooting for the Hightowers come TWOW! I am begging the fandom to stop sleeping on this house. They're right at the junction where magic, science and religion intertwine - all expressions of man's quest towards transcendence!

*that's Lynesse Hightower, Jorah Mormont's wife, the person indirectly responsible for Dany's entire arc.

just think about the reach at the start of the series if the hightowers had been made the great house instead of the tyrells - there'd be a whole separate book about how the faith of the seven is fighting dark mad mages. they had an on-and-off fondness for the targaryens. malora gets to king's landing and immediately discovers the wildfire, putting everyone at imminent risk. there are brief talks of an alliance with the iron islands but it falls apart over booze. cersei doesn't call any of them by the right name.

Harrenhal deve ser alvo de grandes tretas no futuro e aqui estão minhas apostas sobre o que pode acontecer:

Euron deve usar Harenhal como base em algum momento após atacar a Campina; revivendo o cenário de Harren, o Negro, na época do Conquistador.

Se ele vai fazer durante ou apenas antes da Longa Noite, é questionável: Euron deve ser o principal causador da Longa Noite, mas se ele estará com os WW durante o ataque é questionável. Talvez ele morra antes disso, e os personagens usem o enorme castelo como base nas Terras Fluviais durante a Grande Guerra; e talvez Melisandre seja importante para usar a magia dele para tal.

Harrenhal já teve duas rainhas bruxas: Alys Rivers (esta ainda veremos o final no segundo volume de Fire and Blood) que se aliou a Aemond Targaryen e teve seu bastardo e criou, pelo menos por um tempo, algum caos nas terras Fluviais; e Lady Danelle Lothson, a última herdeira da Casa Lothson, em algum momento, ainda não explorado pelos livros, ela se tornou má e cruel e trouxe o caos para o Reino e a sua casa, que acabou por ser extinta.*

*Existe um último Lothson na Companhia Dourada, chamado Jon, talvez ele venha a tomar Harrenhal em algum momento, caso seja realmente membro da família e se tiver tempo e capacidade para tal.*

Se Euron realmente se aliar a Malora Hightower, ela deve ser a nova Rainha Bruxa que conquistará o temível Castelo depois dele. Ela deve causar no pós-guerra com suas artimanhas cruéis e mágicas.

Tal qual Maegor e Daemon, deve ocorrer uma batalha de dragões acima do Olho de Deus, como foram tios Vs sobrinhos, deve acontecer algo como Dany vs Jon. Talvez Dany lute contra Euron também.

No fim de todas guerras, deve acontecer um Grande Conselho em Harrenhal, talvez com mais lordes do que os 2 anteriores. Nesse conselho, é muito provável que Bran seja escolhido rei... Ou, mesmo que o resultado seja outro, não duvido que GRRM não vá perder a oportunidade de fazer um grande conselho novamente na sua história.

De qualquer forma, minha última (e talvez principal) teoria é de que após a destruição de Porto Real (num chamado "Holocausto de Jade" onde tanto a população quanto vários personagens importantes para a trama devem morrer); após isso, é capaz de Harrenhal passar a ser usado não só para Grandes Conselhos no futuro, como a ser a sede principal para a nova monarquia e sua corte real: ele é enorme, com capacidade de ter quase todos os lordes dos 7 Reinos unidos nele, será fácil manter uma grande corte; além de impedir que a pessoa que ocupe o assento fique com problemas financeiros para mantê-lo, como aconteceu com outras casas que o mantiveram.

(Ironicamente, uma "monarquia por eleição" combina com Harrenhal: o castelo é supostamente amaldiçoado e todos que moram nele tem a linhagem descendente extinta... Isso não é um problema para um Rei que não terá herdeiros para o castelo.)

Se Harrenhal será de uso permanente ou até a reconstrução de King's Landing (se é que vai ser possível ser feita), é uma questão em aberto, mas creio que não.
