Broken Mugs
There weren't many people working in the Archives who were inclined to stick around after office hours were over. Tim was unlikely to show up in the first place, and Martin had never seen Melanie here a second after the clocks hit 5 p.m. Basira worked late sometimes, but what she was working on was a mystery to Martin. It certainly wasn't whatever Jon had been asking them (Martin) to look into while he was chasing the ghost of Gertrude Robinson halfway around the world. These days it was just Martin who apparently had nothing better to do, nowhere better to be and no reason to do anything other than sit at his desk until the small hours of the morning and wait for someone (Jon) to need something from him.
The last time Jon checked in, he'd been somewhere in America and had assured Martin that he'd be on his way back soon… but that was a few days ago, and he'd said the same thing when he was in China and before that, New Zealand, so Martin wasn't about to pin any hopes on it.
Which was why, when Martin paused in the darkened corridor outside of the Archivist's office at a little after 9 p.m. he was pleasantly surprised to see the light shining out from under the door. Was Jon back? Martin hadn't heard anyone come into the Archives, but that didn't mean it wasn't possible. He'd taken to playing music on his phone when he was confident he was the only one still here in the evenings. It helped to block out the crawling memories of the many long nights he'd spent alone down here, sleeplessly patrolling the darkened stacks of files and trying to convince himself that he wasn't hearing things squirming in the walls.
Besides, the last time Jon had come back after an unexpectedly long absence, he'd apparently arrived via the Magic Corridor Express, so who even knew anymore.

objectum otherkin elias is one of those headcanons i have that i literally cannot interpret the series without. everything that happens makes more sense through the lense of jonah magnus being an objectum otherkin. his relationship with the eye is entirely romantic and sexual and religious, and every relationship he has with any other human is secondary to that. he just wanted to become a part of the eye. he wanted to become an extension of it. i don't think he ever really considered himself human, and being trapped in a human body and mind was painful for him. that's why he didn't understand why jon hated the idea of losing his humanity so much; being trapped in his own humanity was torture for jonah.
so basically whenever i see anyone share their headcanons regarding his gender or sexuality, all i can think is "there's something a lot more complicated than that going on" because my own headcanon is. well. gender is for humans. sexuality labels are for humans. he is not a human.

Been seeing some people sad about tmagp having jon and martin but like. We already know they were still alive. Martin is at least. The "oh... Hello" episode is a thing. He also seemed relatively sentient (?) and the eye was still listening so i assume they're at least partially sentient in the tmagp universe

as much as i agree that there is a man bias in the tma fandom i think the argument about helen vs michael misses the fact that although helen had more time on podcast and an interesting story, michael has an actual backstory other than "was a tory" that is very connected to the plot and also interesting and tragic. while helen has a great story that plays absolutely amazingly well into the story's huge theme of what it means to be human, micheal i think is more interesting and developed as a character which is partly why there is such a heavy fandom bias towards him rather than just misogyny, although i agree the bias isnt all that justified.
smth like wtgfs vs doorkeay or terminal velocity is much more of an issue to be brought up
