He’s running in the Republikkkan primary in the Texas Congressional district that represents Uvalde where the terrible school shooting took place.
That’s the military M16-203. Thirty round magazine can fire single, auto, or burst depending on the M16 or M4 variant used. The M203 grenade launcher underneath replaced the old M-79 grenade launcher from the Vietnam era that was fired from the shoulder without a rifle being attached. I had the experience of lugging this around briefly in another lifetime. There is no way any civilian should have this, even if it’s modified to single shot and the launcher is deactivated.
"The Pillars of Creation", part of the Eagle Nebula (M16) // Caetano Profeta
Perhaps the most well-known aspect of the Eagle Nebula are the famous Pillars of Creation, columns of hydrogen gas and dust that act as incubators for new stars. The largest of the three pillars is about 4 light years high. It is debated how long these pillars will remain before they are blown away by supernovae shockwaves, although one estimate says they'll be around for the next 100,000 years.
Some early field-expedient solutions to extended magazines, devised during the Vietnam War to offset the limited capacity of the then-standard 20-round magazines for the M16 family of weapons.
Created using captured Chinese "flat-back" AK magazines and modified to fit into an M16 magazine well (as well as modifications to the feed lips), these modified mags could hold 35 rounds of ammunition, nearly double the capacity of the standard magazine - however, anecdotal evidence suggests that sometimes only 30 rounds were loaded, likely to lessen feeding issues/jamming potential.
This was a field expedient modification that largely ceased being implemented when proper 30 round M16 magazines were introduced in 1969 - 1970.
In January the first sign of M16A4s being issued in Ukraine came when the newly raised 47th Brigade posted several videos showing troops armed with them. Check out the video below.
