I only just realised Yves' line in PTT is referencing the book east of eden 🤦‍♀️

yeah hehe, i saw a thread about how yves/chuu mirror the parents (yves as cathy and chuu as adam) and gowon/olivia hye mirror the sons (gowon as aron and olivia hye as caleb).

i think olivia hye being caleb is super accurate, especially the notion of timshel and both cal and olivia's struggles with morality, only to come out as a good person after it all. that's pretty much the plot of 'egoist', that after being abandoned, she'll walk her own righteous path, even though it's hard after all the hurt she's been through.

both gowon and aron 'die', obviously gowon only temporarily. we also see in one&only gowon portrayed as reclusive, and someone who uses the comfort of the church/education as a coping mecahnism to avoid confronting her lack of passions/drive and general unhappiness. one&only and love4eva take place at the same location (a christian boarding school of sorts? evidenced by the eden school uniforms used in both mvs) but o&o is filled with more religious motifs from gowon's perspective, whereas in love4eva, the school theme is more heavily emphasised.

chuu has been (biblical) adam-coded since the beginning (she's literally in love with eve/yves), so she suits east of eden adam pretty well, as they both fail to see yves/cathy for the devious people they are. both chuu and adam ostracise or neglect olivia/cal, and loves an idealised, unproblematic version of yves/cathy. "nothing cathy did or said could warp adam's cathy", and that applies to chuu & yves too.

my only sticking point is while yves can be pretty evil at times, she's not THAT evil, nowhere near as evil as cathy. however, cathy and yves both sin intentionally, are manipulative, and predate on people's trusting & good natures. both are irredeemable in the eyes of god. yves is evil in a biblical sense, as in she's heretical and kind of a dick a lot of the times, but she's not a bad person - none of loona are (why not lyrics). even though she isn't free from sin at any point in the narrative, she does redeem herself amongst the other girls, to the point where even olivia, her most wronged victim, can find it in herself to forgive her. cathy doesn't do this at all. (also if you know anything about cathy's character i'm not sure how happy sooyoung would be to play that part 😭)

edit; after having read the book twice now, steinbeck discusses cathy and her "evil"ness in chapter 13, about how since neither him nor the other characters understand cathy's motives -- like we/other characters might understand yves' motives -- the opinion that either character is evil is subjective. (despite the fact steinbeck makes cathy the embodiment of evil!) just because the two of them are self serving and do what they want doesn't make them evil - and isn't that a common theme throughout loona's narrative? so maybe its not that bad of a comparison. although yves probably still wouldnt want to be compared to someone of cathy's character.

LOONAverse timeline theory (REDUX!)

So... Yeah. This is something I’ve thought about doing for a while now. It’s been a little over a year now since I started getting into LOONA and analyzing the lore, and my views on the timeline have changed slightly.

Nothing major, but I still wanted to do an updated version of the timeline since now feels like a good point in doing so.

In the year since becoming an Orbit, I’ve used the theories of others as well as my own to get a better understanding of the story of the LOONAverse. This has led me to questioning and critiquing certain theories, and even going back and revising my previous views on the lore, and seeking out other interpretations to come to a new conclusion.

There are some theories from my old timeline analysis which I feel are outdated, since I no longer agree with certain points, and other elements which I want to bring more into question.

For those who may or may not know, I’m on the autism spectrum. And ever since I started listening to their music, LOONA has been one of my most recent special interests. I got hyperfixated on the story that was being presented, and I wanted to analyze all the pieces of the puzzle to get the bigger picture in my head.

With all that being said, let’s go ahead and get this started.

Part 1 - The [+ +] timeline

I think this is the part of the LOONAverse story we can get the clearest view on. This encompasses everything from pre-debut, starting with Heejin, all the way up to Hi High.

It was the first chapter, or the first major story arc of the LOONAverse. We were introduced to the characters of the 12 girls, the worlds they inhabited, their individual conflicts, and an established main goal: finding each other and breaking the loop, an enigmatic force that’s opposing them.

Here’s my breakdown of the timeline of events:

This isn’t a perfect charting of the timeline, since we can assume certain events overlap or run parallel with each other, or take place in a very close amount of time between each other.

Part 2 - The [X X] timeline

Just going to refer to this as the “new” timeline. I believe this is the current timeline we are in in the story, starting from “Butterfly”. This is where Go Won created a butterfly effect by going to Iceland, Haseul’s location, and changed events of the timeline.

For now, let’s assume that everything before love4eva/Let Me In still happens, since that is the point where Go Won changes the timeline. Here is what the new current timeline looks like:

Because of Go Won altering the timeline, the events after love4eva/Let Me In never happen and certain events that occur in the [+ +] timeline have been altered.

ViVi doesn’t meet ⅓ and is still an android, though she presumably had found a way to become human again by “Why Not”.

Yeojin doesn’t get lost in the endless forest.

Olivia no longer resents Yves since she was not abandoned. Her journey to loving herself begins anew through “So What” and “Why Not”.

Odd Eye Circle has yet to reunite. However, we see that Choerry was with Hyunjin in “So What”, and the girls are rediscovering the powers of Odd Eye Circle in “Why Not”.

Part 3 - Updated theories

This is where I want to bring up some previous points I made in my last timeline analysis and how they have changed.

No one killed ViVi

I am no longer sided with the theory that Olivia or any of the members were involved in ViVi's death. Instead, I think she could’ve become an android after an accident. (See my “How did ViVi become an android?” theory.)

Yves does not lure Yeojin into the forest

I think something else might’ve happened that caused Yeojin to wander off, but I have seen a theory that Yeojin was in Eden and the “frog prince” she saw was Yves. I don’t think this was the case, since they have also said that the frog prince represents Yeojin’s “boyfriend” in the LOONAverse, but it’s an interesting perspective nonetheless. (Check out fairypinch’s video on Youtube.)

Side note: The “forest” that Yeojin has been described to be lost in has been referred to as the “endless forest” aka “the Moebius forest”.

I watched a video that was part of a “complete” lyrical analysis of LOONA’s discography (unfortunately, they’ve only done up to Olivia’s solo debut T T but it’s a very interesting watch regardless; the channel is Ross Kpop Stats.) and based on their theory, I think Yeojin could’ve heard a song calling to her and wandered into the forest.

Yves meets Choerry prime, not mirror Choerry

Mirror Choerry cannot come into Choerry prime’s world; however, she can still communicate with Choerry due to her Odd Eye powers connecting her to the mirror world.

I do still think, however, that Mirror Choerry did see Go Won, since she was upside-down and I previously theorized that what we saw in “One & Only” could be a dream. (See my dream interpretation analysis on Go Won’s MV.)

Olivia’s heart was not “swallowed”

I’ve begun to think that Jinsoul’s rap in “Egoist” might not be referring to her herself “swallowing” Olivia’s heart. It might be Jinsoul acting as shadow Olivia (as I’ve theorized Olivia has a split personality; link here). Regardless, there’s still some significance that they chose Jinsoul for the rap.

Also, she doesn’t wish for the other yyxy members’ hearts to merge with her. When we see her bite the apple in that same video, it is showing her finally decide to reject Eden and be free of it completely.

yyxy are not “one” as in they are literally one person; they are “one” as a unit and a part of LOONA as a whole.

No broken cassette tapes

Loominosity debunked the idea that ViVi’s tape case was cracked; it’s just tree branches behind ViVi. (Link here)

No diverging timelines either; The Carol 2.0 is just a cute holiday video with ViVi, Choerry, and Yves!

Everything from Butterfly to Why Not is one timeline

Essentially, Butterfly showed us the catalyst of LOONA’s “butterfly effect” to change the timeline. We see the result of that in “So What”, which has many parallels to “Hi High”, and “Why Not”.

I’m also beginning to theorize that Heejin actually jumped forward in time. She could’ve temporarily escaped the loop (as we see in the #1 teaser) and fell back into “So What”.

This also means that Go Won would retain her memories of the previous timeline, while everyone else has forgotten them.

I’ll admit, a lot of my old ideas felt like reaches since I was still learning about the lore. Now that I’ve spent time becoming more familiar with the group and their music, I think I’ve come to a clearer vision of the story.

So with all of that said, here is my new breakdown of the current storyline...

The LOONAverse started out as stable, but then something caused it to become unstable. This resulted in the universe becoming a Moebius strip, separating three worlds (Earth, Middle Earth, and Eden), and creating a time loop.

We don’t know when or how this happened; all we know is that the loop exists and it is a force that is preventing LOONA from reaching their goal.

At some point, Odd Eye Circle was formed with Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Hyunjin, and were given the powers of the Odd Eye.

In Eden, Yves finds and eats the forbidden fruit, where she’s given knowledge of her fate and of the loop. She decides to rebel and travels to Earth, where she meets ViVi.

Shortly after, however, ViVi gets in an accident, nearly dies, and is converted to an android, where her memories get messed up and she forgets Yves.

Hyunjin receives a mysterious bracelet from an unknown sender, and tries to search for answers.

Odd Eye Circle finds the cherry that can send them to Earth. Jinsoul leaves one for Choerry, and when she eats it, she and Hyunjin switch places.

Jinsoul decides to go to Earth to look for Hyunjin, and meets Olivia Hye. She gets trapped on Earth and loses her powers and memories.

Heejin, a normal girl in Paris, is bored of her repetitive daily routine and wishes for her life to be filled with color. In search of some excitement, she decides to go travelling.

Two of Yves’ friends in Eden, Chuu and Go Won, decide to reject Eden and join in her plans to escape to Earth. They meet Kim Lip, who was searching for Jinsoul, and it’s revealed Go Won made the bracelet that was sent to Hyunjin.

Now, Hyunjin lives in Tokyo, with no memory of the Middle Earth or Odd Eye Circle. She meets Heejin and the two become friends. They both befriend Haseul and Yeojin, who are like sisters. ViVi meets Jinsoul in Hong Kong.

During Christmas time, Haseul finds Chuu when she first fell from Eden and wakes her up.

Haseul then has a dream where she finds and kills her doppelganger.

Yves, Chuu, and Go Won escape from Eden, leaving behind Olivia Hye, who feels resentment and anger for being abandoned.

ViVi meets Heejin, Hyunjin, and Haseul, and eventually becomes human. However, they learn Yeojin has wandered off into an “endless forest” and went missing, so they cast a spell of love to find her.

Olivia Hye falls to Earth, and learns to love herself and let go of her anger. She then meets Heejin after she went into the endless forest and learned about the loop. She convinces Olivia to join the others on Earth, and eats the forbidden fruit to be free of Eden.

Jinsoul regains her powers and memories, and Kim Lip senses Choerry and pursues her. They revitalize their powers during an eclipse and learn of the loop.

Kim Lip helps Choerry find the mirrors where she awakens her powers, connects with the mirror world through her reflection (her shadow/mirror world counterpart), and learns of the loop. They reunite with Jinsoul to merge their moons and complete the Odd Eye Circle.

Choerry meets Yves when she first fell from Eden and helps her escape by meeting Go Won in her dreams and leaving the roses for them in the forest.

After all the girls gather together on Earth, they try to break free of the loop, but fail as the time loop resets.

In order to change the events of the timeline and break the loop, Go Won stays behind in Eden while Olivia takes her place. She then goes to the dreamworld/mirror world to stop Haseul from killing her doppelganger and changing her fate.

Due to Go Won’s butterfly effect, the timeline begins to change. Heejin temporarily breaks out of the loop before falling back in and chaos ensues. The girls start a rebellion in their efforts to break free. They see the moon burn and meteors fall to Earth.

After the chaos, the Odd Eye Circle members start to regain their powers, and the group holds a midnight festival in celebration for the rise of a new moon.

...

And there you have it! Like I said, this may not be perfect, there are definitely parts of the story I want to re-analyze, and I’m sure whenever LOONA make their next comeback, it’s going to lead to some very interesting developments.

But I also wanted to do this since some of my theories have changed. The LOONAverse is so fascinating because it can lend itself to so many different theories and viewpoints, that it even challenges the viewer’s own thoughts on the story.

“Star” Teaser Analysis

(disclaimer: this is less of an “analysis” and more of a “pointing out possible connections to past lore without really theorizing on what it could mean” since im not good at coming up with actual theories ;;)

Well, I wasn’t expecting Loona to drop a teaser out of nowhere, but here we are! Even in this short teaser we can see that the lore is continuing from Why Not. Analysis under the cut!

ok so first off, the pairings we get in the group shot are very interesting. we get a close-up of everyone. first is chuu and go won:

who have obviously been paired together before via their scenes in so what:

as well as just both being members of yyxy. (although during why not they weren’t in the same subunit)

next, we have jinsoul and kim lip:

aside from both being members of OEC, them in particular out of the 3 are connected, as they worked together in love cherry motion to lure choerry to cosmos/the middle world (jinsoul leaving the cherry & kim lip using the flashing mirror thing)

^^^ (seen in the “reveal” teaser)

^^^ (kim lip is seen in the LCM field in the “reveal” teaser so this is most likely her)

anyways, then we have the final group before we go to solo shots of the girls sitting by themselves; olivia hye, yves, and heejin:

heejin and yves don’t have any particular connections as far as I know, (let me know of anything if there is!) but olivia has connections to both yves and heejin. let’s start with yves.

obviously they’re both members of yyxy, but as most of you know, it runs deeper than that. i’ll try to summarize since there’s a lot to their relationship.

the lyrics of egoist seem to imply that olivia trusted yves at one point (and perhaps even loved her), but something happened that severed their bond, known only as “letting her fall” - it’s unclear if that’s literal or a metaphor for something else, but the important thing is that olivia gained a deep-seated anger (what she in yyxy represents as seen in “one”) towards yves.

(this possibly led to olivia killing vivi in order to hurt yves, but that’s a whole other theory, let’s get back on track lol)

anyways, in hi high, we see olivia being reluctant to join the rest of loona, but eventually she jumps down from eden after seeing yves smiling up at her from earth, so it seems in the end olivia forgave yves for whatever happened.

they seem to be on good terms, since olivia is literally resting her head on yves’ shoulder, but if this is the same altered timeline as why not, then it’s possible that in this timeline nothing bad ever happened between them.

we get a rehash of egoist in why not, but it only parallels the aesthetics of that mv - it’s unclear if olivia was doing what she was doing because of drama with yves like in the og predebut timeline or for some other reason.

anyways, what matters is they are connected. now let’s move onto heejin.

olivia and heejin are ALSO pretty obviously connected. heejin is the first girl to be revealed, and olivia is the last. they meet at the end of egoist:

and have been seen to parallel each other during the likes of so what and other material. while heejin is often interpreted to be some kind of god-figure in the loonaverse, a force of good, olivia is often made out to be the bad guy - burning the moon in so what, refusing to join the rest of loona in hi high, etc. this can also be seen in their outfits - heejin in white, olivia in black.

anyways, that’s enough about olivia. let’s get back to the teaser. after getting close ups of all the girls in the first group shot, we get this:

a shot of two hands separating, a close up of heejin opening her eyes, and a shot of heejin waking up in a bed of pillows and looking around. now what does this remind you of?

that’s right - it’s egoist babey!! you thought we were done with olivia? HAH

ok, on a more serious note. this clearly parallels the opening of egoist in which we get a shot of hands (which from promo pictures we know to be yves and olivia’s) separating, and then olivia opens her eyes and wakes up on a matress.

it also seems to somewhat parallel olivia’s appearance in the XIIIX teaser, where she wakes up at the bottom of a staircase.

back to the star teaser, we then get this shot:

from the blurry reflection im gonna tenatively say this is hyunjin, but it could also be choerry. or who knows, maybe it’s both! they are counterparts after all.

(if it is choerry, it’s interesting that we’re getting her staring at her reflection again - perhaps another appearance of the other choerry from the flipped side of the mobius strip?)

we then see go won standing in front of the same window, looking somewhat surprised or intrigued. go won has connections to both hyunjin and choerry, so either one makes sense.

go won made the bracelet that the cat delivers to hyunjin in around you, as seen in see saw when she completes it and gives to said cat:

(along with a cat also appearing in go won’s solo mv one&only)

go won also set out a table for choerry in her castle, as seen by the cherries on the plate in one&only. choerry also directly appears in the one&only mv, delivering an apple to go won by yves:

so whether it’s hyunjin or choerry, the connection makes sense.

after go won’s window shot, we get a shot of chuu sitting on the floor. this seems to be one of many “filler shots” - there for the mv, not the lore. all loona mvs have them - most dance breaks, any shots where they’re singing directly to the camera, etc. i will be skipping these since i dont see any lore significance in them - if you or someone else does, great! i probably just missed it lol

anyways, the next shot i want to talk about is the one right after the chuu one.

we see heejin walking into a circle with the other members. there aren’t any connections i can think of so to speak, (other than the fact that heejin is standing beside hyunjin and olivia, both whom have connections with her) but we get another shot of this scene after one of heejin amongst the stars.

satanic ritual with the girls xoxoxo

ok but in all seriousness, i feel like this post has significance. loona is no stranger to magic (1/3 literally cast an “arcane spell of love” to rescue yeojin in sonatine), so it’s possible that they are doing some sort of spell or something.

the pattern on the ground seems to resemble the sun, but knowing loona’s long-standing connections with the moon, and the burning moon in why not that appeared to be the sun, this could also be the moon; specifically, the moon after olivia set it on fire in so what.

perhaps they’re trying to “heal” it/return it back to normal? we see them dancing on the (perfectly ok) moon in why not, so perhaps this scene takes place between the burning moon scenes in why not and the moon dancing scenes? who knows.

another big thing i noticed is that they’re organized by subunit AND reveal order!!!

if you start at heejin and go counter-clockwise around the circle, they’re all in reveal order!!!

heejin -> hyunjin -> yeojin -> vivi -> kim lip -> jinsoul -> choerry -> yves -> chuu -> go won -> olivia hye

that’s just... so cool to see aksjgjkagshjk ;;;

ok let’s continue.

this next shot (aside from being really cool, im sure this is gonna become plenty of people’s headers lol) sort of reminds me of the og midnight festival teaser image. idk, maybe it’s just the twinkly stars and chuu looking back at the camera. as a sidenote, the arrangement of the girls in this shot doesn’t seem to have any meaning.

we get a bunch of filler shots of the girls (looking stunning as always!!) and then we get THIS:

ONCE AGAIN, HEEJIN & OLIVIA!!! this was the first scene in the teaser to actually make me squeal out loud lol.

this part seems to signify what’s been shown before - heejin and olivia are parallels, counterparts, opposites. heejin is the first girl; she is light, good, regal and godly. olivia is the last girl; dark, “evil”, lowly and broken.

i find their expressions interesting. heejin once again has this very regal look about her, and while olivia gazes directly at her, heejin is focused on their touching hands. she looks almost.... bored. it gives me this sense of like “ugh, i cant believe im having to associate with HER” kinda vibe. idk, maybe that’s just me.

olivia on the other hand doesn’t seem to have any sort of distaste in her expression, she just has this focused, intent look towards heejin. i wonder if there’s any significance in the fact that olivia is looking right at heejin, while heejin avoids eye contact and instead looks at their hands?

a few filler shots later, and we get this one with yeojin and go won:

the first thing i thought of when i saw this was that part in the “#3″ teaser for so what with go won and chuu:

although it’s interesting to note that while in that shot, both go won and chuu turn around to peek at the camera, in this one, only yeojin turns her head while go won stays faced away.

at first i was a little confused, since connections between yeojin and go won didn’t immediately pop to mind. but then i remembered a connection between them i had been thinking about literally like a week ago - they’re both princesses!

go won seems to live in some sort of castle in one&only and is repeatedly seen with crown imagery or actual crowns:

yeojin’s princess imagery is a bit less obvious, but she wears a white dress with a tiara and is seen dreaming about princes and becoming a princess.

there’s also some theory that states that this flower thing yeojin wears on her chest in her main outfit for the mv is supposed to represent royalty IRL or something like that (i dont remember)

so there is a connection there, even if they haven’t really interacted one-on-one before.

after the shot of yeojin and go won, we get this shot:

choerry’s divorced moms

KFJSKGHJ OK IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, why do they look so.... passive aggressive?? they’re not smiling, they’re just staring at each other in this relaxed yet oddly confrontational way...

we’ve already gone over their connection, but i wanted to leave this in since i feel it has significance of some sort.

after a shot of hyunjin’s hair blowing in some unseen wind, we return to the first group shot, with them all admiring the floating stars together, and that’s where the teaser ends.

Whew! That was a lot! I’m sorry this got so long, once I started analyzing there was more than I thought there was.

why jinsoul might be evil: a long-ass doc

I’m done!!!! I’ve written a full five page essay about how Jinsoul might be the final boss of Loona hehehehehehe! This was inspired by a post that I saw by @deerychuu yea i know the post is from 2018 but im bringing this back cause it inspired me

My stupid and mostly unsupported Loona theory: Jinsoul is evil hohoho

Ok so I saw a post a little while ago that was like “Olivia hye is the villain in yyxy but Jinsoul is loona’s final boss” or something like that, I don’t remember, but when I saw it I thought huh that's cool. But thEn I was watching the Singing in the Rain MV and like damn that makes sense so anyways here’s me finding evidence for it

My strange, messed up timeline:

1. Egoist Rap

2. Singing in the Rain

3. Love Cherry Motion

4. Love4Eva, Sweet Crazy Love

5. The rest of the Egoist MV

Part 1 of the ✨stupid✨ theory: Jinsoul is in prison for some reason who knows

Ok so basically this part I did not come up with (I found it on youtube oop) but it's important so I’m gonna leave this here. Throughout the earlier music videos featuring her, she’s shown in neon bars (or a fish tank) which probably represent her being trapped

But then at the end of Singing in the Rain, the bars aren’t straight (just like how Jinsoul isn’t straighUIDHFIUHDJDO *gets electrocuted*), they’re like all bent around and shit honestly idk what the word is but you get the idea.

(small cause I had to fit it on this page)

So what I think it is, is that Jinsoul broke out. She broke out of this ?prison thing? and she is out she’s gonna kill us all, run. Also let's all look at Jinsoul’s visuals there omg queen

Part 2: Jinsoul, when she was trapped, was on Eden (or at least had some way to contact Eden) and talked to Olivia Hye

You read the header, you know what's going on hohohoho. This part of the theory is me saying that Jinsoul is from Eden. Full theory is that I think that all of Odd Eye Circle is from different parts of the mobius strip that's actually important huh sO (Choerry is from Earth, that’s already a given as she is shown there and also shown going to the Middle Earth, Kim Lip is from the Middle Earth uhhh I just think that because she isn’t really shown anywhere else???, and Jinsoul is from Eden.)

Why do I think Jinsoul is from Eden you might ask, well hohohoho you’ve come to the right place (I sure do say hohohoho a lot)

In the Egoist MV, Jinsoul is seen (in a prison, implying that she was still trapped at this time) in front of a neon sign that says something in Chinese. (some people say that it has something to do with vivi but I personally think they just wrote it in Chinese so the Korean-speakers couldn't decipher it as easily lol) The characters say “Fallen Angel”. (I think, I don’t speak Chinese)

Boom fallen angel my theory is PROVEN wahahahaha so basically what I’m saying is that Jinsoul probably was on Eden at some point, but she maybe tried to do something bad who knows what and it was terrible enough that rather than being exiled to earth, she was forced to be in prison.

The second part that I have to say about this is the connection between her and Olivia Hye. She’s (obviously as it is literally oLiViA hYe fEaT JiNsOuL) in the Egoist MV. She's shown still trapped in the blue neon lights and is whispering in who I believe is Olivia Hye’s ear. I think that Jinsoul was trying to convince Olivia to do whatever Olivia ended up doing I’m not sure.

Part 3: Jinsoul’s “Swallowing the sun in the afternoon” and other lyrics

This parts gonna be short because I have no idea who or what the sun is referring to! It may be Olivia Hye, or Choerry, or it also may be someone or something else, but I think this was the reason Jinsoul was exiled to her neon prison thingy. These lyrics are in both Singing in the Rain and Egoist, so they gotta have some kind of significance kskdjdjsk

Personally I think that the sun may be referring to Choerry, because there is a can with the words ‘the sun in the afternoon’ on it, and Jinsoul eats a cherry out of it, and Choerry is very happy happy as everyone knows so it would make sense for her to be the sun.

But this wouldn’t make sense because Love Cherry Motion comes after Singing in the Rain (as Jinsoul isn’t trapped at this time) soooo maybe Jinsoul had hurt her before the timeline??? This might make sense because Kim Lip might figure this out in Eclipse. (you know. The sun being swallowed by the moon in the afternoon hohoho)

Also, who I think is Choerry is shown in the Egoist Mv taking the cherry out of the can. Her skin is a tone darker than Jinsoul’s, and the mouth is obviously wearing the same shade lipstick as Jinsoul so you can tell it's not her actually eating the cherry. I think Choerry was just a reference to the earlier music videos, or to the fact that Choerry was in One&Only.

But she also says “for the sin of swallowing you” to Olivia. bUt none of this makes sense, this is just me ranting. Long story short, I think Jinsoul “swallowing the sun” was what landed her in prison. Let’s get onto the other lyrics!

Nevermind I lied. I'm still stuck on the similarities in Love Cherry Motion and Singing in the Rain. I’m pretty sure this happened before Jinsoul was exiled, and before she had an Odd Eye.

Idk I just definitely think that Choerry and Jinsoul are connected before the actual events somehow.

Also this is about different parts, but Jinsoul actually talks about being dangerous in the lyrics of Singing in the Rain hehehehe.

Part 4: Jinsoul egged Olivia on (specifically with her maybe killing ViVi)

Uhhhhhh so this part is mostly about the lyrics of the Egoist rap. Throughout the rap, the common theme of what Jinsoul is saying is “we’re together, I feel what you feel, come to me” and that kind of stuff. Placed around her are cans (like the afternoon sun one) and all of them are opened, implying that she’s eaten them. The lyrics of the rap are “Hey, for the sin of swallowing you, You get bigger and bigger, beautiful you, You are me, now I’m you, Little by little, soaked into my veins. On&on, you and me the endless cycle, We can’t be separated. When I miss you, I close my eyes and go to you for a while, Close your eyes and you come closer to me.

She’s shown talking in Olivia Hye’s ear during this, which may mean that Olivia Hye is the sun, but this isn’t about that, this is about Jinsoul being evil.

Now this part (of this part loll) is still about Egoist, but the other parts of the MV. Most of the lyrics before the rap are about how Olivia misses someone (probably Yves but that's another story) and how she wants to love herself instead of them. It also opens with a scene in which Olivia lays on a mattress covered in white feathers. I believe that this part in Egoist happens after the rap, but the rap is put before the change in Olivia’s mentality for extra effect. After Jinsoul’s scene, Olivia looks at the mattress again, and the feathers that used to be white turn red. There’s also some scenes that show her eating a plum and having what looks like blood on her lips, as well as snips of a scene where she is washing lots of blood off of her hands. I think that Jinsoul may have influenced her into killing ViVi, or doing something else. (I’ll put a link to a doc that one of my friends wrote about why Olivia may have killed ViVi.) The placement of the rap between the two parts of Olivia’s music video are what make me think this theory is more plausible :).

Part 5: Jinsoul the blue fish

Now we’re getting into more detail about the Singing in the Rain MV!!! I already explained the theory about how Jinsoul is trapped in the blue lights, but there’s moreee!

During the Singing in the Rain and some small parts of Crazy Sweet Love, she’s shown with a blue fish. This is important because in Singing in the Rain, she’s also shown by rows of tanks, all filled with red or orange fish. She eventually stops by a tank on display in the middle. (I know which fane this is cause its my computer background lmaoooo)

So the fish is consistently shown as different from all of the other fish. The ones on the pedestal are too, but they are all the same type, at least. Then, Jinsoul pours the blue fish into the tank of orange ones. However, it is shown just after that, that the blue fish actually represents Jinsoul.

I think this was showing that Jinsoul was not the same as the rest of the girls in Loona. She’s an outlier.

songs i enjoy more than others

As someone who suffers from the disease I’ve affectionately termed Bad Music Taste, I want to know more about your music taste as well as share a little bit about mine! So we can get to know each other better maybe :D (in no particular order)

1. 新宝島 (Shin Takarajima - New Treasure Island) - Sakanaction

‘I’m searching for the scenery of a dream’

The Asian blood jumped out - but seriously, this song is so insanely trippy, it literally makes me feel alive just listening to it. It’s got all these strange techno noises and the trusty guitar and the singer all coming together to make this song - and the lyrics, while mostly simple (and borderline repetitive), are still a source of inspiration for me! The entire album is worthy of being on loop.

2. Lovergirl - Teena Marie

‘Call me up don't be shy/For my love will make you high/I just want to be your lovergirl’

This song is so powerful! Her voice is amazing and I really wish I was born in the era when I could truly appreciate this song (but unfortunately I’m not). The passionate-declarations-of-love thing I’m not always a fan of, but when it’s her singing this song, I am immediately immersed in this fantasy of synth-pop dance-floor passion.

3. Mr/Mme - Loïc Nottet

‘My ambition is large/Hard to satisfy/My happiness tastes like a bitter flavour’

His voice. I’m sorry to say that yes, I discovered him through Eurovision (I’m not even from Europe this is so strange) but his voice is just. Amazing. This song is just so heavy in every good way - the lyrics are angsty but then again who doesn’t like a go-to song for angst? The raw emotion - it almost sounds like he’s shredding his voice, for which I hope his throat is okay - is just so addictive.

4. 水鄉 (Canal Town) - 毛不易 (Mao Buyi)

‘The moon shining on both ends’

Will admit that his voice is the kind you can sing along to maybe on an acoustic guitar, not like a powerhouse or anything but so melancholic and beautiful - this song always makes me fall into this state of contemplation. It’s got major writing vibes, especially if I want to write something slower and softer, so it’s one of the songs I really treasure very much. The lyrics are beautiful.

5. The Night We Met - Lord Huron

‘I had all and then most of you/Some and now none of you’

This song, graciously recommended by a friend, has been on my On Repeat for months. I keep coming back to it whenever I want to write sad scenes, feel the melancholic atmosphere wash over me, or whenever I simply want to enjoy a good, slow song. The lyrics are beautifully simple, a record of love’s escapism, and the instrumental is hauntingly perfect. I could listen to this song for forever.

6. Morning Crawls Towards You, And I - Good Luck Finding Iris

‘Sorry you have to go/You’re tired, I’ll drive you home/And I'll pretend that I don't mind/That I don't wish you’d stay out all night’

There is something addicting about the singer’s voice here - it sounds like it could be sung on a quiet trip back home after a day of staring at the sky. The song itself is very stripped and minimalist, but it captures something inside my soul that refuses to let itself go. It’s an almost soundless quality about the song that makes me like it.

7. Egoist - Olivia Hye (LOONA)

‘My tears are on the tips of my toes/At the edge of the darkness, on the way home after sunset/I saw the moonlight’

K-Pop! I was one of those people, a while ago, but I’m not that involved anymore. This song is a remnant of that era, and I think honestly it’s a really well-produced song, and LOONA has been one of those groups that still hold my interest. This solo song from Olivia Hye is so powerful in all aspects: lyrics, instrumental and dance, that it’s very difficult not to like it.

O - "Only one" by EXID (an upbeat and catchy song by this awesome group. This actually reminds me of when the heart starts to beat faster when you are around the person you love. An amazing song!)

G - "Guns for hands" by Twenty one pilots (it is actually one of the first songs by TOP I've I've heard. It totally caught my attention. I find it extremely catchy and cool)

R - "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons (this song is so powerful. I just love the energy it gives me. Another reason why I love it is that it is also related to one my favourite shows, which is - you may guess - The 100)

O - "Oath" Cher Lloyd ft. Becky G (as soon as I heard this song the first time, I instantly though about me and my best friend. I love him so much, and I know we'll always have each other's and be each other's safe place, just like the song says)

loona x their relationship with color

a lot of loona theories dealing with color talk about how the colors relate to each other rather than how they represent the member so heres a more in depth look into the color’s psychology ! a lot of times, colors will have different associations based on individual experiences and that plays a big part in loona !

heejin - bright pink

bright pink is known to be vivacious and stimulating. bright pink is a more rich hue of the usual pink and we can relate that to heejin’s song being vivid - a song about color and standing out. the mv is filled with very vibrant colors

hyunjin - yellow

yellow has dual associations - positivity and loyalty compared to cowardice and caution. in japan (aka hyunjin’s country), the color yellow stands for courage. in her mv around you, the mv and song talk about how shes trying to find courage to confess to her crush but she constantly cowards away from doing so. even though at the end she doesnt have the courage to approach her crush, she seems hopeful that one day she’ll be able to do so. yellow is a great representation of hyunjin’s duality in which despite her shyness/cowardice, she continues to build confidence and hope that one day she can do it - her storyline shows the positive and negative meanings of yellow

haseul - green

green is the most common color in nature and is often associated with rebirth . the thing is that despite her color being related to nature, her mv is at iceland aka a place with no nature. in the beginning of let me in, haseul says “Deep in my heart, in that dark place/You suddenly entered / Awakening my world” which can mean that Iceland is what her heart originally was before a person (i guess a lover) enters her life and helps her be born again - so maybe after this lover enters her life her heart becomes green (”is now being colored with you”) aka reborn ? also green is the color of hear chakra and it represents a bridge between the physical and spiritual world so maybe its not even a lover but rather another distant version of herself (which is repetitive in loona) is being discovered and shes becoming one with herself ?

yeojin - orange

orange is known to be energetic and it draws attention, just like our maknae !!!! its also known to be a flashy color and give a childish appeal. in yeojin’s mv later, it is similar to hyunjin in which it shows duality of her color. positive associations include being sociable (her multiple suitors) and negative associations include being self indulgent (scenes where multiple items/gifts are shown). another thing with orange is that it helps lift up personal limits, similar to how at the end of the mv she gives the frog a kiss on the cheek despite saying how they shouldn’t rush .

vivi - pastel rose

pastel rose / light pinks are mostly associated with love and romance. lighter pinks are known to have a calming effect and be associated with feminine qualities like softness and nurturance. vivi has the most wholesome mv out of all of the girls in which she is softly crushing on a boy.

loona 1/3

hyunjin, haseul, and yeojin have citrus colors while heejin and vivi have shades of red. overall the colors complement each other.

kim lip - red

just like her debut, kim lip and red are often associated to have power, energy, and are known to attract attention. in fact, red is said to be the most attracted color (like how eclipse is considered to be the most popular solo). red accents on neutral backgrounds are a way to attract attention (which her mv happened to do) and red also symbolizes sophistication which kim lip is often associated with.

jinsoul - blue

blue is a color favored by many people too (just like how jinsoul and sitr are popular). people who are associated with blue often have a need to feel unique and authentic - like how sitr was unique to all of the other loona solos due to edm elements. blue is also known for its ability to relax and stimulate a person at the same time and is called a calm authority which can be seen regarding to the structure and sound of sitr. sitr mentions how at first things are out of control until “You have spread blue” and then they become “standing on top of this night” so maybe the lover/another version of herself in this instance takes over jinsoul similar to how haseul gets taken over by green - but in jinsoul’s case the blue helps her gain authority

choerry - purple

purple is a balance between red and blue - it has the stability of blue (the fun meoldy) and the energy of red (the beat drop after the chorus). the color is known to create a unusual atmosphere and be unique and observant ( like how choerry and mirrors - a weird way of communication and she has to constantly look for/in mirrors). a lot of words that are associated with purple appear in lcm’s lyrics - magic ( Love cherry magic ), imagination (ah ah, Imagine ah ah), special (Our special days start today). also, purple does not appear in nature a lot so anything thats purple is often associated with being rare and delicate - this is the opposite of lcm mv bc at the end everything becomes purple which could represent how shes in paradise because in no other natural way would a purple landscape exist

yves - burgundy

burgundy is a combination of red (vivi / i know a stretch) and purple (choerry). its a sophisticated color and people who like the color often considered what others think about themselves. they have unconventional thinking and have a desire for being unique. burgundy ppl also are known to be introverted so maybe at the beginning of new yves was alone until she meets a lover/another version of herself that allows her to open up more and gain confidence (The look of you when i open my eyes/ So bright that i couldn’t dare to approach / My heart that wants to be like you / Gets colored, filled with you) . also, burgundy lacks a sense of fun/energy that pink has - so maybe instead of a different version of herself like haseul and jinsoul have, vivi is what brings a new self out of yves. yves later on is seen to have a god figure (with the members and orbits) and burgundy is known to represent high social status !!!

chuu - peach

peach is a charming color (just like chuu). it helps bring courage to yourself (chuu eventually taking a bite out of the apple to be with yves) and help others not to be afraid (helping gowon have a revelation). negative associations include relying to heavily on others and fear of being alone, which we see in heart attack where chuu constantly wants to be with yves. just like how yves has an actual person (vivi) to bring out change, chuu has yves and she ultimately changes her (”Dipped you inside my white heart, and made it red” - burgundy has red in it so yves turns her heart to a lighter shade of red since her heart is originally white which can result in a muted color like peach or even a similar color to yves’ lover which chuu wants to be)

gowon - eden green

in the first part of one and only, gowon is seen to be in the dark/hiding but she eventually becomes one with herself/has love for herself and she becomes overall lighter. similar shades to eden green like aquamarine and turquoise are associated with a release of guilt. in gowon’s case, she feels held back until she eventually comes to turns that only she can make herself better and this can represent her release of guilt (the guilt of holding herself back?). other meanings of the colors include being able to heal through play, being childlike, and being denied what we want because we dont work hard enough. based on her mv, maybe gowon felt like she wasnt trying hard enough to improve herself which resulted in a guilty feeling and eventually she realizes that only she can cause improvement in her life and she eventually becomes healed and can now enjoy herself. or rather then not working hard enough, shes trying to protect herself from getting hurt (another association to the color) and as a result she shields herself away from everything. once she connects to her spiritual self (turquoise is known as a color that connects to the spiritual world), she can finally enjoy herself. some other fun stuff is that turquoise represents friendship (yves, chuu, and gowon running together at the end of the mv) and that burgundy is considered the opposite color of aqua and that burgundy is used to balance out aqua (yves going to gowon and crowning her).

olivia hye - gray/silver

gray is a cool, neutral balance color that represents a lack of emotion. its associated with loss, unsettling feelings, and being timeless (”They say that time heals / Even those words became pain for me” but if gray is timeless that means olivia hye doesnt have time to heal oooh snap) . gray is also a color that represents conformism - having no personality (which is seen in love4eva). people who like gray often try to protect themselves from the world around them and prefer a safe and balanced existence. silver has a mature sense of justice and often reflects energy back to where it came from - we can see scenes of the egoist mv being bright pink (known to be a fun color but is reflected back to represent anger for olivia aka the first betrayal) and for some of olivia hye’s scenes in love4eva turn red (olivia hye suffering from the other girls leaving her aka the second betrayal) - this is why an individual’s experiences are significant in the portrayal of color in their life!!
