The young girl froze, refusing to look her mother in the eye. She knew that looking would only bring the tears that were threatening to escape, win. Lyra was truly just as stubborn as both of her parents but with a kinder heart. “You ain’t ever cared before” she stated in a firm tone, feeling her own jaw clench together in frustration.

“Ye never cared until now. Trying to change who I was and it never worked. I ain’t going to let ye stop me from saving my friends” she said firmly and frowned more. She had felt like nothing more than a project to her mother and now she had escaped, it felt like she was back to step one.
