I have a small theory as to why the bulblins kidnaped the kids in Ordon while Link got left behind. Time states that Ganondorf has become afraid of children in Heroes legacy. Ganon became paranoid after his encounter with the Hero of Time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SO back to the era of Twilight Princess. The Hero of Time has a descendant. The Hero of Time has a bloodline and Ganondorf is a ruthless man. In this vision/flashback, we see Ganon doing his evil deeds before he is banished to the Twilight realm. I think this is showcasing us that Gannon caused the ruins in tp looking for baby Twilight.
Tumblr media
I think that this war was the start of the resistance group. The members of the resistance look for and take care of any survivors. This is where Rusl finds little link. Rusl takes the child to Ordon and raises the boy with his wife Uli. Ordon is an isolated village. The Twilight realm is a perpetual twilight, Ganondorf would be unable to tell how much time has passed, or at least have a difficult time doing so. Until he is in the realm of light again. I think at the beginning of his return is unaware that baby Link is now a young adult. So he sends his henchmen to find and capture children expecting to find a young link eventually. (wind waker style-ish) thus the children in Ordon are kidnapped. oh dear remember when I said this was a small theory.
NOW I am aware that I said that Ganondorf was unaware for a little bit that little link grew up. I have a reason, it's Collin. don't tell me he wouldn't get mistaken for a young link. The blond hair color, the way his hair is parted down the middle? blue eyes? why such a display unless you're going to parade the poor kid all the way to Ganondorf. As a way to say i found the kid you were lookin for. we the players know that Colin has round ears but it's also interesting that out of all the village kids, Colin's ears are obscured by his hair on both sides. (clarifying that the design choice that we easily see the round ear tops of the other village kids intrigues me)

they say there was once a Zonai who got a little bit too curious about dark magic... as punishment, the goddesses banished her and her people to the twilight realm.
silly little theory of mine - the Zonai could be the ancestors of the twili. have a zonai Midna (her ancestor??? idk) as a treat

I wanted to experiment with color, lighting, metal, gems, and water for this one! Has anyone else noticed that Mipha is paler than Sidon in their concept arts? Interestingly they seem to be the same color when they are younger based on the DLC scenes of both of them 100 years in the past. Perhaps the Zora, like fish, can become paler under stress? Anyways, enjoy a colorful Mipha!
also big thank you to @maldrea-shoots-stuff for your reference photos of Mipha’s statue!!
My blog is pretty small so reblogs are greatly appreciated!

Botw/Totk headcanon: Sheikah NPCs beyond Kakariko
after impa being the Last of Her Kind for nearly 20 years, we were kind of spoiled with the era of wilds sheikah. still, kakariko is known for it's older population and botw makes a point to let us know paya isn't used to seeing people her age. this post is about asking 'where are they?' and filling in the gaps. being a peaceful farming village it makes sense the younger gens would want to leave as soon as they can for some adventure.
sheikah typically have hair on the grey-to-white scale (granté proves this isn't a requirement), and unlike the past games they have a greater diversity in eye colour. below is a list of hylian npcs that look too young to have greying hair that i hc are either from kakariko, or have some sheikah ancestry.
Tumblr media
from left to right: lecia, letty, mina, her brother mils by proxy, teli, juney, and baumar. i'll go into more detail about each under the cut, comparing them from the 2 games alongside some more headcanons. some of them i haven't found in totk yet, so i'll edit when i do.
pic on the left side is them in botw, totk on the right.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mina is a treasure hunter looking for loot with her brother by the exchange ruins outside the great plateau. the siblings also show up in the dlc. they're trying to steal a sheikah heirloom back from the yiga hideout, though they don't know it's purpose - they just wanna sell it. in totk she walks on the path between lakeside stable and lurelin. she says that even treasure hunters deserve some fun once in a while, so we can assume she's takin' it easy. Mils, meanwhile...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...joined the zonai survey team, and moans about what tough work it is. he walks through pagos woods to the zonai ruins. he joined in the hopes it would lead him to treasure, but he hasn't had his lucky break yet. most hylians travel from stable to inn and can be assumed not to have a proper home due to the lasting effects of the calamity. this is my bias but i like to think he's talking about kakariko when he mentions home. let him grow some pumpkins and wrangle cuccos. he wishes to live a quiet life.
i find it sweet him and mina are both in faron. maybe they decided to split up and cover more ground? with mina off sunbathing and sipping mimosas in lurelin, mils got the short end of the stick again.
Tumblr media
Baumar:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
'i hope you die': lazy, cliché, unrealistic. 'i hope your favourite botw npc gets mushroomed and bowlcutted': it's scary, it's possible, it's happening to me right now. such was the fate of our poor resident shield-surfer bro from botw. known for many hit quotes such as 'let's go bamboo! yahoo!', 'shield surfing is like, totally radical, dude', and my favourite:
Tumblr media
in botw he rides his horse on the path between serenne and snowfield stable. in totk he's part of the fashion tour-group that run around hateno village. maybe he went to hebra to show his 'wicked' surfing moves to selmie and she said 'kid, if i let you out on the slopes you'll die. sorry'. his world was completely shattered beneath him like a broken shield, so he turned to cravats and puffy short shorts to cope.
his name is similar to the hills of baumer above deya village ruins. maybe he's a descendent of the few survivors. i wonder what his ancestors are thinking now, watching what he does with the gift of life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Teli walks between fort hateno and hateno village. He sells ancient guardian parts and even mentions he trades them with Robbie. he has a high opinion of himself and tells you he's known across hyrule for his 'roguish good looks.' in totk he's one of the men in the 'Gourmets gone missing' Penn quest that gave himself food-poisoning by riverside stable. after which he scares away some cuccos and makes you wrangle them for a sidequest. just L after L for this dashing rogue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Juney, now famous for her rupee grinding sand seal minigame, i instantly recognised as the epic divorce woman from rito village. her attitude is just as surly as ever but they gave her a soft side. i like that every minigame location could not be further from hateno. you'll find that school someday queen.
she was a newly wed mad at her husband, jogo, for choosing a cold place for their honeymoon. he begs you to give him flint to cook some baked apples for her to save their already failing marriage.
Tumblr media
in totk they're not together, jogo inhabits a cabin in tabantha village ruins with another woman. he didn't give her enough baked apples.
Tumblr media
Letty walks along the path between lakeside stable and lurelin. she gives you cooking tips and that's pretty much it. i'm pretty sure i've met her as a yiga disguise more often than i've seen the real her. if anyone has found her in totk, please let me know.
Tumblr media
Lecia is a new character in totk. she's with the research team and plays a part in the foothill stable Penn quest. she kind of looks like a grown up Koko. maybe a distant relative? but maybe she's not sheikah. maybe the sight of all those pasty naked man nips traumatised her so bad she got marie-antoinette syndrome from the shock. i haven't seen her since.
thank you if you read to the end. to clarify i'm working on some fic stuff and that entails finding npcs across the overworld to give some more lore. it's a sheikah focused fic so i needed some characters other than the kakariko residents. it's also just fun fleshing out random npcs to make the world feel more lived in. again, i'm missing some details like what mina does before you save lurelin, so i'll edit this post in the future.

So…what now?
With the defeat of ganondorf in totk, it’s hard to think where the franchise could go, especially that it seems that in the botw universe, the entity of ganon has been defeated. Here’s my theory (or dream) of what is in store for Link and Zelda.
I think that it would be super cool to use botw and totk’s world and characters for one more game, making this series a trilogy. However, I don’t think the enemy should be directly gloom or malice (or ganon) related. I think the game should continue to focus on the zonai, and what happened to them.
In totk, we learn that Rauru and Mineru are the only two zonai who stayed in hyrule, while the rest left after some time. It’s possible they returned to the sky. Additionally when botw concept art was being released, there was an image of Link looking at a ufo like object. While the tech that appeared in botw (and totk) is some of the most advanced tech that has been in the franchise, nothing like this truly appears in either game. So, what if this ufo like thingy is in fact the zonai?
Tumblr media
This is where the story for the third game in the botw world begins. After defeating Ganondorf and integrating zonai tech into the world of hyrule, the world finally seems that peace. However, one day, the zonai return, wanting to take back their technology that Rauru and Mineru provided. In fact, it could be possible that the other zonai resent them for sharing their power, and use the upheaval as an example to why they need to take all secret stones and zonai tech back. However, their approach isn’t totally peaceful, and link, Zelda, and the sages have to work to stop them.
For links powers in this game, it could be really interesting to see the creative team lean more into the powers of the goddess hylia, since the theme of the game would surround the ancient magical powers of the master sword, and of hyrule, going up against a foe that is much more advanced than them.
That’s all, sorry for the kind of messy brain dump, but I think this concept would be super awesome and I’m honestly not ready to let go of the botw and totk world yet!!!!

i think most link’s would be flat earthers. here’s a game by game analysis on whether or not that link would be a flat earther
edit: this is based on a mix of their education, experiences, technological advances, and relative historical period... most of them definitely would have the resources to tell the earth is round! but they got the triforce of courage, not wisdom ^_^
skyward sword link - mf lives on a flat floating rock. of course he’s a flat earther. probably thinks the earth below is a big ol floating island too
four swords and minish cap links - grouping them into one because they’re in similar periods. while technology would be advancing i assume it’s probably similar to medieval-premedieval so i think they’d be flat earthers
(edit: i became aware that there were still ways to learn the earth was flat premedieval era but that doesn't change my view... both will still believe the earth is flat.)
ocarina of time/majoras mask - ….he’s my favorite. i wanna be nice. but he’s probably a flat earther. dude has had no formal education. they probably think the world is infinite or smthn…
twilight princess - it would probably be similar to like. gothic to renaissance era. so people in this era probably know by then… that the world is round……. but not link. he sees a map and assumes that’s the shape of the world.
four swords adventures - our first round earther! he absolutely knows the world is round! probably has a formal education too
altp/ooa/oos/la link - bro’s gone everywhere. he’s NOT a flat earther 🙅🙅🙅 VEHEMENTLY defends the round earth.
albw/triforce heroes - different timeline version of the previous link. he is NOT a flat earther!
og link - now. you may be thinking. why would he be a flat earther if they previously had the technology to know that the world is NOT flat? well. legend of zelda is full of WEIRD historical development and WEIRD technological resets (see: the mess that is botw)… and this is one of those cases. he is a flat earther.
ww/ph - “the world isn’t infinite ocean????”
spirit tracks - not a flat earther!!! brother is an ENGINEER. he’s formally educated. they’ve reached an industrial revolution in hyrule and education would have CAUGHT UP.
botw - “why am i separating botw and totk?” because botw link FORGOT EVERYTHING. he thinks the world is flat and infinite.
totk - got in a discussion about it with zelda post botw.
link: (looks at map) how come sailors don’t fall off when they reach the edge here
zelda: ……..pardon ?
needless to say, he’s now a round earther!
FINALLY:
hyrule warriors - “no, wind, the world is not an infinite ocean.”
(formally educated knight, world is round)
thank you for reading.

Loz theory!! :D
What if there was a fallen warriors timeline and that actually being wilds timeline, and wild could just be so far ahead in the timeline that warriors was just forgotten in history, cause he failed. (Or something like that)
And for ganondorf to still exist, wild has to fight him two times technically, since there was Calamity Ganon in Botw, and in Totk there was hydrated Ganon, so that would at least mean Ganon can make duplicates of himself every time a hero is chosen, even while he’s stuck at the bottom of Hyrule castle (cause the amount of hatred and/or evil that he has is enough to reincarnate himself until the end of time basically so who says this hatred and/or evil isn’t enough for him to just duplicate himself when a hero comes to Hyrule)
And since warriors had basically all the timelines in a single timeline this could also make sense for the Rito and Zora are in the same timeline (this could also explain why Wild can find so much of the previous heroes armor, weapons, etc.)
And in Aoc you can also get warriors armor as well.
And age of calamity is basically a second timeline for botw since the events in botw is what helped awaken the smaller guardian, (again) and the smaller guardian made a second timeline to help Botw Zelda, but it didn’t alter the first botw timeline so aoc basically is a second timeline since botw never changed.
So wild technically isn’t a successor from one timeline but actually all of them. (I hope that make sense)
(Sorry this is very long, I only thought of this a few days ago, so it still could not make any sense since I haven’t watched or played a lot of the Zelda games. The only ones I have watched or have a decent amount of knowledge on are ww, oot/mm, alttp, hw, botw, totk, aoc and a I know a little bit about the other games like skyward sword, fs, and the original game.)
@treasure-goblin (cause you asked me to tag you in it! ^^)
(I am so sorry this is so long, and sorry if it doesn’t make that much sense either. And sorry if there grammar mistakes)

New Linked Universe fic is up! This makes part 2 of my new "The More Things Change" series (prior reading not required).
This time around, we get to compare Wild's shield surfing skills and Twilight's snowboarding skills! Of all things to follow over to botw, the shield surfing was a surprise. I also wasn't expecting to find Snowpeak Ruins hiding in botw!
I don't think it's coincidence. Mini-theory incoming. Breath has always been really subtle about what locations from past games exist. Players recognized that Selmie's Spot, the shield surfing spot on top of Hebra Mountains, was a callback to Twilight Princess's old snowboarding mini game, where you can race a pair of yetis to their manor. Here's the layout of the routes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Credit to zantaff on Deviantart for the TP map)
The star marks on the botw map is what I imagine would be most like this path. The finish line for Selmie's race is in Sturnida Basin. And above this basin, there's a series of cliffs leading up to a large, flat area.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The angle is a bit different, but it seriously feels like there's supposed to be a bridge crossing the cliffs between the monster camp. And behind that is another big, flat area with a giant korok rock puzzle, as if the game is telling you that something used to be here. Am I reaching? Possibly! But Snowpeak was one of my favorite places in my favorite Zelda game, and I think I found it.
So I made a fic about it. And a theory. Because I didn't think there was anything left to discover in botw after six years.

Okay so the Legend of Zelda timeline is confusing, we all know and either love or hate this. I personally love the confusion and so I decided to make it even more confusing with my new personal headcanon of how it works/goes.
Here's my timeline theory, enjoy =^_^=
Tumblr media
also the image is clearer when you click on it by the way lol
oh and any spelling mistakes are totally, 100% intentional (lying, i tried to proofread as best as possible my eyes just like to jump around lol)
*Edit: The part where it says that SS!Zelda's bloodline becomes a clan of religious figures and Hyrule is not founded yet is suppose to be written under the Skyward Sword section, not the Tears of The Kingdom one. Also Note 2 is meant to say Non-Unified Child Timeline. i messed up lol. oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wonder...
I don't know how people came to the headcanon that the Hero's Shade/The Hero of Time came back to Hyrule and died in this armor as part of the royal knights defending Zelda, probably in a great battle. Maybe it's a manga thing or a popular theory. But I have a different headcanon to why he might look like that.
His armor doesn't look at all like something from Hyrule. Is not Hylian, Goron, Zora or Gerudo, or anything similar. But I do feel like it makes sense with the type of shapes and decorations from Termina, from the Stone Tower temple and Ikana more closely. At least according to what I see. There's a lot more sand tones and reds, more round shapes and decorations that feel like painted that fill the blank spaces to make them pop up. I think his armor is so strange because it's supposed to make us understand that he died elsewhere, somewhere like Termina to connect the dots backwards to Majora's Link.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is still of course all those things that theories point out to suggest that Link didn't stayed in Termina and actually came back to settle with Malon to eventually make Twilight Link a direct descendant of him, and I do believe that there's truth there too. But at the same time I don't see how that makes it impossible for him to not be able to go back and forth between the two realms like the Happy Mask Salesman does or Skullkid himself (unless you believe that Termina was a dream or illusion). Termina is like Wonderland but is not a dream, is just another dimension accessible through the Lost Woods portal.
So, if I may, what I think is that he stayed in Termina for a while when the Majora's mask ordeal ended. After all there's a huge gap we don't know anything about the hero of time, his entire young and adult life, and then we skip to many years after his death in the era of his descendant.
I have the headcanon that he had to stay to perform with the Indigo-go's at the festival after Majora was defeated, and also had to explain Lulu the situation of her being a single mother of six at least (where they six? I don't remember), finish some side quests that needed to be repeated but with a bit more time for it. Maybe even be with skullkid enough for him to later carve that image of both Link and himself playing together, like wanting to immortalize a good memory of both having a good time and not just it being in skullkid's imagination of what it might have been if Link stayed longer or just symbolism of their friendship. It makes for a better story to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, maybe a little grown up to say.. his appearance in his adult form (17 yo), Link returned to Hyrule and found himself being flooded with memories (I'm decorating the explanation a bit), and visiting places he and Malon crossed paths again. They become friends, fall in love (maybe encouraged by Talon between jokes and being serious), and they start to have a life in the ranch as a couple with some kids.
But it doesn't take to long until that desire of being a hero creep again into his mind. Link just can't let go the feeling that he needs to make honor to that title by being a hero, and people need to know of his deeds, is his responsibility and the weight he has to carry. But the only place that could fulfill that desire is beyond Hyrule and probably beyond Termina. We are assuming Ganondorf's execution hasn't yet occured but will be in Link's time, just later. For now Hyrule was at peace. Is the job of the hero to never let his guard go down and wait for a disaster to occur.
So with that in mind, he started to go back to Termina. For longer periods each time trying to find the next threat that might find it's way into Hyrule (because that's the only thing he's learned from childhood if anything), promising Malon he'd come back, taking longer and longer trips each time. Leaving useful things for the next hero in case he didn't return. But why Termina? Because as Aonuma has said, Termina is named like that because it's a Terminal, like an airport, so it might be kind of like a Hub to get access to other worlds, or where other dimensions connect to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He found nothing though.
But, if you believe in the Stone Tower temple theory by Monster Maze, which is very cool and interesting on its own but basically it says that the tower is not from Termina or Hyrule, is a portal to a realm beyond Gerudo desert, so if you subscribe to that theory like I do then we can create a narrative with it. Let's say that our Link here started to investigate this temple, and that he found the Realm that connects to the tower, he found the people that built it. Or maybe he just found something more in the kingdom of Ikana, a new conflict or a mystery to solve. He should be a full adult person by then. He found another adventure and another realm that needed his help. He donned the armor, he fought his battles, but he died there. And he couldn't go back to Hyrule and Malon again... At least not alive. I don't know what kind of magic or properties that realm might have had because it's all a supposition based on theories upon theories of something that's been left to each person's imagination, but Ikana itself is very much connected to the Dead and it's curse is such a powerful one that it can't be undone. I do want to believe that some time after his death he came back to "life" technically as a stalfos (because stalfos are cool, shut up), or a revenant (revenants have one or two eyes lit up with an unnatural light, so it might not even be that he lost an eye in battle, is just his revenant eye after death signifying his unfinished business), and he probably had more adventures in that new form until he managed to return to Hyrule.
But changing from realm to realm made him became a ghost of sorts (like the ones in Twilight's courtyard), maybe changing from realm to realm as an undead/stalfos/revenant made his body more intangible. And then his spirit just wandered around as his chosen form, a golden wolf. In part because he chose that form, in part because it was a sort of calling from the triforce to take that form.
Tumblr media
Until he felt a familiar aura. The aura of the new hero, the Hero of Twilight. Finally he would be able to ease his regrets...
Tumblr media
That's my headcanon at least.
Also... Why is he so tall as the Shade, you ask. Well, he's a shade, a shadow. Not in the literal sense but as his title says he is the Hero's shade as in regrets, the hero's regrets. The shadow of guilt that always followed him, himself. So, in a poetic way his shadow of regret is bigger than him, and it manifests physically bigger too... Or y'know, why are there stalfos, poes and ghouls as big as houses in the Zelda universe. I guess that's just something you can do after you die.
That all. No closing thoughs other than the hero's shade, ocarina of time Link, the hero of time, is one of my favorite characters of all time.

Am I the only one seeing this below?
The Tears Of The Kingdom has dragon like creatures looks much similar to the one Ganondorf has in his robe collar from Twilight Princess.
I don’t about it but I will let you be the judge on that.

After exploring some Lore of Twlight Princess, it is weird that Midna decided to break the connection of the normal World and the Twilight Realm.
Isn’t the twilight the connection between darkness and Light? Night and day? I feel like this would only bring misfortune. It’s like severing the connection between Good and Bad. Both of them need to exist. Maybe I am missing something…
This twilight realm seems to be mostly unexplored. And it might be a new adventure hidden in the twilight realm. We only explored Hyrule in twilight, but not where Midna actually lives. I am really interested how it would look like there.
