I'm still in the older chapters, I think, but the amount of misunderstandings between the skeletons based on one half of an overheard conversation or someone not quite using all their brain cells and coming to a conclusion that is so off the mark is just *chef's kiss*. In the books, there was a good and bad side to characters. I loved how rhaenyra and aegon were balanced out in the book. And now the show makes everything about gay tension between alicent and rhaenyra. When there is so much more depth to be explored within these great character stories ;((

This might not seem like an answer to your question.

But it is on a fundamental level.

And this is important.

When you are a showrunner, especially a showrunner of a large franchise genre show, you have to give the air of confidence that you know what you are doing. Because, if you don't, than the studio will note you to death, because, they don't trust you to do the job. Especially if they're shelling out a shit ton of money and riding a lot of the future of their company on your success.

Ryan Condal, while a pretty good writer, that guy ... his inability to get production off the ground and missing several deadlines to do so, is why Rhaenyra is now breaking canon by fighting in battles. Cause, I guarantee you, that was a studio note by some fuck head executive who doesn't understand why they're spending all this money for "Strong Female Character" to sit around and do nothing while "Older Strong Female Character" get's her fucking ass handed to her and gets a good chunk of the "Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity" army destroyed by three White Men.

Any other showrunner would be able to tell the studio executives why Rhaenyra isn't at the battle, why she won't be fighting, and why the story is playing out as it is. But, because, Condal couldn't even finish scripts on time and produce coherent story arcs from the disastrously fucked up 1x08 - 1X10. The studio had to step in and basically hold the budget hostage till their demands are met while their people got the show off the ground.

Example:

There is a very, very, reliable source that claims that Sara Hess and another female writer were given a very pivotal episode to write in Season 2. They did four - FOUR! - Drafts of this script and it was getting progressively and progressively worse the more they worked on it. Eventually, in the 11th hour, GRRM himself, came in, took it from them, and quickly rewrote the episode personally - almost from scratch - and turned in just at the studio deadline.

This is what happens when you have chaos in pre-production. If the Studio has to come in and fix things personally, then they take your show from you and run it from a corporate board room.

This exact thing happened to "The Hobbit" movies. Peter Jackson was only a Executive Producer on the films. Guillermo Del Toro was supposed to be the director. However, because, of pre-production chaos and Del Toro leaving. Jackson had to come in and direct a production that was completely studio controlled at that point. Thus, we get Elf/Dwarf love triangles, gross out humor, and a trilogy of movies rather than two.

A discord server is not an idea I’m against but I’m just worried it could get out of control if not run properly. I’ve seen so many discord dramas and to avoid them I’d like to curate the place myself, just to be 100% sure that everything is ok with me. So if the discord server becomes a thing it’d be a patreon only discord, however I as I mentioned before I can’t afford to maintain one right now.

I think it’d be super fun if I could make it with like, a goal in mind. Maybe monthly drawing challenges for all members? Or monthly themes? Or suggestion polls? Of course chatting would be totally ok, too! I just need to have a serious think how to manage a community like this because I’d hate to disappoint you!

I’d love to create a tangible community where we can all talk. And I could even drop the process of artworks and tcm pages in real time! There are so many options, but as I said I really need to sit down and think about it.

I’ll make sure to post about it when the launching date approaches 💕

Blog recs, like blog recommendations? I’m an old fart, so I hope this is what you meant. I do however have some good blog recs! 

I would tag all that I’m following, but that list would be massive, so lets narrow it down to a few I interact with quite a bit! 

@hellsoverseer ; Bash is an incredibly unique, fun raider muse with a ton of spirit and he’s really good at bashing things. He’s real, well rounded, and just an incredible OC. The mun is so sweet too. She’s so approachable, and really into this for a good time. She’s a precious bean. Ilovehershe’smybestfriend.

@rivetcitysecurity ; Harkness is a cool dude all around, but brought to life through this portrayal… he’s like the funny, cool dad everyone always wanted and needed. The writing for him is very care free, and if you want a genuine good experience on tumblr, follow this blog. Mun is also brilliant, no BS, and so much fun.. 

@beenpole ; Marcie is such a great muse with a ton of really well developed verses. She fits in a lot of scenarios, and she’s such a real character that I forget she isn’t a canon one. She’s an A+ female muse and I think she’s wonderful. Mun is super fun, really open, and genuinely great to be around as a friend & a writing partner. I absolutely adore her.

@radiatedgreenhouse ; KATHERINE. Oh my, I love Kathy so much. She’s such a unique and incredible muse. She somehow manages to give off this consistently chill vibe, but at the same time you just know you shouldn’t go messing with her. She’s a cool cat doc, with such great concepts and history. The mun tho? Oh goodness. I love her so much. She’s so funny, and you will love her art. 

@steelsworn ; Jamie is an unapologetic buttmunch who we all adore and love. I’m going to put him in a locker. But no, seriously, a great muse that’s very strong and well written. The Mun is also adorable af and I love talking to him. 

@awildthing ; I don’t even know where to start on Kay. I just want to will smith pose at the screen. Seriously, do yourself a favor and check out this blog. Kay is a brilliant muse with so many facets. She’s very endearing in her behavior, and she’s so real. Mun is super cute too and very sweet! 

@atomsgrandzealot ; So, I will go on for like 2000 words about why you should check out this blog, but I’ll cut it short. This portrayal of Richter is absolutely amazing. He’s such a firm presence as a muse, and the way he’s written by this mun ( in my opinion ) suits the character. And the mun? Oh my goodness. What a doll. One of my favorite people ever. 

@papergun ; This Piper is both true to the character, and fantastically developed beyond what the game limited She’s a powerful lady who don’t take any crap. If you enjoy well written, strong female muses… please, please check her out. The mun is also SO SO kind. 

@throughknowledgewestand ; I can’t comment on any one muse from here. They’re all fantastic. Definitely give a look. The mun is precious too. I’ve ALWAYS had fun speaking to them. 

@ncrloyalist ; Oh man, what a great muse? I love her take-no-shit attitude that’s capped off with some real gritty Ranger sass! The mun is a breeze to speak with as well. Really fun, not complicated, easy to plot with. ( This kind of thing is important to me lmao ;; )
