The wonderful thing about having the silence spell is that nobody can hear you ugly cry yourself to sleep~
So. Act 3 had a lot of consecutive rough moments. Hurt my heart playing as a gamer. Can't Imagine actually dealing with the fate of your companions' personal quests while in Greygold's/Tav's shoes.
While there are jokes about how Tav is the therapist of the party, my question is who's gonna be Tav's therapist??????
Anyway, just wanted to draw sad Greygold, balance out all the sillies ohohoho

So I finished BG3 (Good Tav Playthrough, Astarion Romance) Spoiler End Thoughts And Some Critique
SPOILERS,Great SPOILERS for parts of the romance and playthrough. Mind Ye, my thoughts are incredibly scattered...
This is mostly about *how* the game ended. And let me clarify before you get too far that I LOVED playing this game and the music and combat and companions were perfectly charming
*
*
*
but.... what.... the... ending?
I spent about 94 hours on this playthrough, regular origin, romancing Astarion, skimping largely through act one but completing almost every quest available in act 2 and 3, and save scrubbing where glitches (though minor) took hold. Ultimately, I robbed Raphael and freed Orpheus and destroyed the brain. I adored act one (put 336 hours into EA already) and act two felt like a very seamless and natural extension. Act three felt disjointed but it also seemed like the purpose of the act was to showcase companion quests (which are all vastly different), so I just went with it. Even though the Oathbreaker guy bugged and never showed up to my camp once I started act 3 (Boo).
I finished all the quests and pushed all companions toward a good trajectory. I had romanced Astarion starting in Act 1 and influenced him so much that he autonomously made good decisions (ie, warned his siblings what their fate would be, set the spawns free, wanted to destroy the tadpole and mentioned guiding the spawn to control themselves). Got the grave scene, it was wholesome. Finished the other companion quests, which -except for Wyll's (I saved his father and broke the pact and learned who the Guardian really was)- felt a little bland after the sheer emotional impact, acting, and animation of Astarion's deny ascension finale. Who knew watching a man brutally stab his abuser and then emptily sob while covered in blood could be something so personal?
After I cleaned all my quests up, I went ahead and started "act 3.5" so to speak. Once I went to confront the brain, there were no more major companion-specific cutscenes or unique dialogues or romance interactions, save for Lae'zel and Karlach. I freed Orpheus and convinced him to become a mindflayer. (I am aware of the alternative route where Karlach volunteers to become the mindflayer but I did not have her in my party for that). I was sure there would be at least one more cutscene or lengthy dialogue -- particularly for the romance-- at the very end, so I took out the Netherbrain, completed the game, hit the ending post-battle chat. I was... disappointed.
A few companions had one or two sentences to say on the docks. Astarion started to burn in the sun and he panicked and ran away, and then I got a one-line response from Lae'zel that boiled down to "I suppose that's the last of the sun Astarion will ever see." Karlach's engine failed and my Wyll autonomously offered to take her to the Hells with him and she autonomously accepted. And then I got a narrator epi. telling me about how the people reclaimed their city. Then my credits rolled.
I learned through save snooping that If you let Wyll take Karlach to hell with him, it locks you out of the ending romance dialogues.
So, I reloaded to persuade Wyll to let Karlach die so I could get my romanced Astarion dialogue. I told him I'd go with him to the Underdark to help him guide the spawns (seemed natural, I rolled Drow), and he was happy to have Tav by his side. Then hard cut to credits again. No mini cutscene of Tav going off with him, no end cards, no epilogue text. I was stunned, especially because the ending romance dialogue was just them standing and having a back-and-forth conversation, and it was so brief. No animated interactions between the two. Or... anyone. Just a conversation in a room with wooden walls.
I watched all the way through the credits, hoping I'd get closure for the other companions maybe, but there was none of that either. Gale's crown blew up and fell into the ocean (so it feels his personal quest was rendered completely irrelevant no matter which way you swayed him), and who knows what happened to Halsin or Shadowheart under un-romanced circumstances (or Jaheira and Minsc for that matter).
It felt so odd and out of place to have an abrupt ending with limited choice, animation and dialogue when the rest of the game so faithfully respects player choice and commits to animating even the sillier actions. One playthrough easily has the capacity for 90+ hours of content but still manages to push you into about 3 recongisably different endings for a standard Tav (arguably 4 or 5 if Urge). Post the final boss, it 100% feels like cutscenes and dialogues are missing or glitched... which may still be a possibility (only 4% of players have finished the game as of date) but is unlikely. Ending romance dialogues across all companions seem to indicate that it follows after a party, which we do not get to see. All dialogue options for ending romances, at least in Astarion's, mostly led to the same responses with a few variants in wording, which might have been fine except for the lack of companion epilogue elements.
I don't know how to say this other than I'm bummed. I don't need a happy ending, just an ending that feels complete. I enjoyed playing the game so much, the companions were perfectly charming, the world was delightful and I had fun with combat and then the end just sorta... happened. I don't think I'd play through as a customized character again. Maybe once for the Urge, as what you choose to do with yourself seems a bit more concrete. And I have no desire to roll the origins. Replaying as any of the ones I frequently had in my party just seems odd to me. Especially for the ones I took down opposite paths. Selunite Shadowheart and Unascended Astarion are stuck in my head, but they feel like endings that would only come naturally if a Tav were around.
Some people keep saying it feels like it's set up for DLC, and it really-really does, but Swen has repeatedly stated that DLC for this game is incredibly unlikely, due to how DnD rules work when you get to level 20. But now that's all I want. It would've been all the more easy to accept how it is now if I had just some epilogue flavour. Or maybe something like ME3 extended cut DLC. Or just a little more conversation.
tl;dr, game was great until act 3. my choices with the final boss and all dialogue options after the encounter were disappointingly limited. no ending narration or cinematics or epilogue cards to give closure on your companions or romances. I loved everything until then, and wished there was more.

Ok, I will try not to talk too much about this on here, since this blog isn't really about this type of content, but I need to nerd out to someone, none of my friends are into this, and this is my main blog, so here we go:
***BALDUR'S GATE 3 SPOILERS AHEAD; READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION***
This is mostly just me needing out and gushing, though, lol.
Ok, ok, so for the past five days, I have been fucking binge playing this game. I literally spent the first day I got it sitting around for, like, seven hours (don't be me, and make sure to get up for breaks if you're gonna do the same thing). I was - and still am - absolutely hooked.
I LOVE this game!!! It's the first DnD based game I've played, especially of this quality (even though my laptop runs it like shit and the lag is killer ☠️). I'm playing on Explorer, so it's been fairly easy and very story-focused. I find the lore so intriguing, and I'm so interested in seeing where the story goes! I haven't seen anything past the camp party after saving Halsin, though, so no spoilers please. 🙏
So, I started off with one playthrough, but I came in with the knowledge that you are able to romance the characters and such. I REALLY wanted to romance Astarion (as most people I see talking about the game lmfao), but my bitch ass just could not get his approval, no matter how hard I tried. It got to the point where he actually made fun of me after we saved Halsin and had the camp party. 😭 I honestly suspect he might've glitched out somehow, since I had read online that people have had similar issues with earning the trust and approval of companions. This definitely bummed me out, but I was still enjoying the game a lot.
Along with that, in my original playthrough, I literally forgot to seek out Lae'zel. I had planned on doing it, but I just didn't know where to go, and by the time I had met Gale, I honestly forgot about finding her because I had to get offline at that point. 💀 I felt really bad about it, and I only went to go look for her after saving Halsin because I was reminded of her, and she had already broken out of the cage and killed the two tieflings who trapped her. I felt so bad that I just left her there on her own all that time. ☠️
After realizing that I wouldn't be able to recruit her until a bit later, I just decided to restart my playthrough on different save files. I figured I'd also at least get a proper chance with Astarion as well (love him so much; he is my meow meow 💕), and all while still playing as the character I took quite literally two hours to make (I was very indecisive about them lol).
So far, the new playthrough has been going very well, and I'm actually pretty happy that I restarted, since I had also apparently missed the scene of Astarion sharing his vampiric nature as well as some very key information from, and about, Lae'zel. I'm only about seven hours in right now, but I feel like I've somehow gotten more done in this playthrough than I did in my original which had something like fifteen hours. I've explored places I didn't even realize existed, picked up a ridiculous amount of loot, and even acquired all the companion characters that I know of in the First Act. It's been extremely successful! Not to mention things with Astarion are going very well. 🥰
Anyway, I've been enjoying this game a lot! This is my first ever time playing it; I didn't have Early Access and hadn't even heard of it until my friend told me about it this past Sunday lol. I'm honestly really glad that I got this game, despite the price of it and the price I had to pay for a new storage drive for my laptop in order to run it. It was certainly lots of money spent, but it was definitely money well spent.
I feel like my perspective on the world around me has changed slightly from playing this game (in a positive way). I feel a lot more curious about things than before, and I'm more inclined to take spontaneous risks which has always been a struggle for me beforehand. I also kind of feel like I can talk to other people a lot easier as well, as strange as that sounds. I play a Bard in the game, so my character has high charisma and stops to talk to other characters a lot, and I'm not really sure why, but seeing my character interact so easily with others has kind of inspired me in a way and helped to make social situations a lot more comfortable for me (I have social anxiety, so talking to people has always been pretty tough). As unusual as it may sound, this game has already changed me in such positive ways as a person, and I can't wait to see what other lessons it may have to teach. ☺️
All of that said, I couldn't recommend Baldur's Gate 3 more! It's genuinely one of those games that I think anyone can pretty much enjoy, and I also appreciate how inclusive it is with gender stuff and queer relationships. The other characters even refer to me with the correct pronouns, despite me never needing to enter my pronouns in! It's a very impressive game, and the graphics are absolutely gorgeous (especially when your laptop isn't absolute shit like mine lmao). Frankly, it's just great!
Of course, being so new, it does have its problems. I've personally experienced lots of lag issues - dialogue and animations won't be in sync, characters taking a long time to go from one location to another, environments not loading in very quickly, etc. I've also had the game crash on me a few times, but I honestly believe it's more related to my laptop than it is to the game, and for the most part, it hasn't caused me too much grief.
Despite its flaws, I personally believe this game is very much worth a play. It's loads of fun, and the characters are pretty charming and entertaining. The storyline is interesting with lots of twists and turns, and if you ever get bored of the mainline quest, there are literally endless sidequests for you to enjoy. Exploration is highly encouraged, and as you explore the realm, your map actually reveals the locations you've been to. Fast travel is also a super great feature, although there are some locations I wish that were on there that aren't, sadly.
Ok, I've...talked a lot, so I'm going to stop now. 😂 Thank you to anyone who actually read all this, and I hope you have fun playing or watching someone else play, if you plan on doing either! Take care. 🧡🪽

been a little while since I updated my BG3 log and I got lots done aaaa feeling excited and a bit sad that I'm nearing the end. I've really enjoyed this adventure.
After Cazador, took Gale to visit Mystra. Got some big news but I urged him to seek forgiveness and freedom over anything. I like that Gale is on the surface one of the good guys but he can fall into power corrupts as easily as say, Astarion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the hunt for the House of Grief I ran into THE WORST FUCKING QUEST EVER OH MY GODDDDDD this haunted ass house handed my ass to me over and over. I hated every inch of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fashion time! It's so late in the game that you find new underwear
Tumblr media
got one little tag on my doodle comic like "OP is in denial about the rotting teeth" and im just like I DONT SEE IT HONESTLY??? they just look yellow and like there's a of a snaggletooth.
More plot based stuff under the cut!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wrapping up Shadowheart's quest was harder than Astarion's by virtue of TWENTY FUCKING ENEMIES I had to restart twice before the first round ended... made liberal use of Hypnotic Pattern. I didn't find it as cathartic an end as Astarion's but there was still definitely like, a release. And I love Shadowheart's last line there.
The reward was great tho. My bard now has 24 CHA baybeeeyyy
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
time to rescue Lae'zel (she was kidnapped before Cazador) and OH SHIT THATS THE SKULL FROM THE MAIN MENU SCREEN??? AAAA The Baahlists are a bitch and a half with all their murder status effects and I was SO GLAD I respecced Karlach into Barbarian 8 / Thief 4 for that extra cunning action when the "defeat this guy before he casts Power Word Kill at you" fight came up. What a fucking mess that was.
Fighting Orin was easier... I was not expecting her to transform into a big dumb monster honestly! I expected she would be teleporting around or use some shapeshift abiltiy to be all annoying but it was a really straight forward fight.
Oh, aaaaaannnd I did not fight Sarevok, so that was another Weird Ritual to inspire my tav. He's now an unholy assassin and I'm sure Astarion must appreciate the smell of being absolutely soaked in blood. I don't feel too bad about killing Valeria because she seemed like a terrible detective though I did have karlach skip her turns in the fight because I couldn't imagine her being for it. Like it's just pathetic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Took Astarion to the drow twin courtesans... tbh I appreciate the game showing like, yes he is healing and doing better but some things you just don't get over right away. But I also want to get the spray bottle out like dude!!! don't force yourself!!!
Tumblr media
I used a growth elixir on Karlach for the Orin fight which didn't use up that many character resources and the elixir lasted all day so... directly to the House of Hope with Karlarge it was!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bit of a visual glitch because it reappeared later but it was nice to see Aldrich without the raccoon eyes and veins again. Just went around sitting on things in Raphael's house.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND THEN UH???? UHH??? This supremely awkward scene with Raphael's personal incubus who looks exactly like him??? I didn't wanna start a fight because I thought Raph himself might show up but I could not pass the fucking Con check afgkdd
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"you can have my body but not my soul" AGSFKHDDS???? I'm jelly tho I wish I had these eyes (but more purple) for Aldrich
Tumblr media
Reloading and fighting the incubus was absolutely worth it for this Speak With Dead bit. the answer: he bottoms exclusively.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AND THEN THE FIGHT WITH THE BIG DEVIL HIMSELF!!!! I was already amazed when vocals dropped into the fight music BUT THEN HE WAS SIGNING HIS OWN BATTLE MUSIC???? It absolutely slapped. Amazing fight. I had Hope with me and convinced Yurlgirldsbfjs whatever his name is to join which greatly reduced the chaos. The only criticism I have is that it was a big of a slog getting Raphael down from 666 HP. but damn what a great loot payoff!
Getting near the end now. Of outstanding quests I have now, I gotta pass the hammer off to Voss, find/recruit Minsc, see if anything else is in the sewers, then sabotague the Steel Watch factory, infiltrate the Iron Throne, and confront Gortash. Then we'll see how it goes for the finale.
I'm still kinda worried what it will mean for my Tav going partially illithid and also aiming for freeing Orpheus. Seems like freedom really rides on the guy cooperating with us.

i gotta say, while i do feel a WHOLE kind of way about lae'zel still loving you enough as a worm mindflayer to bring you along on the fight for githyanki freedom, and it is very on brand for her to just up and go Immediately, i would have liked to have a moment to like. say goodbye to the others, or check in with them, or something, babe, please, the dragon can wait a few minutes--
meanwhile uh. as we flew away the game started to play karlach's scene of her engine going and then cut to a black screen and started the epilogue. and i know for a fact there's a scene of astarion in the sunlight that did not play either. not sure if glitch - bc holy shit the game very much choked on itself in that last fight, it was NOT prepared for one of my party members to still be outside when the brain died, nor for the brain to die on its turn due to being on fire rather than being attacked, i guess - or if it's because lae'zel dragged me off but uh. would have liked to see all that play out!
STILL, AT LEAST SHE'S AT THE PARTY IT SEEMS SO UH. GREAT JOB CONVINCING HER TO GO TO AVERNUS, EVERYONE, I ASSUME YOU ALL PITCHED IN ON THAT ONE IN MY ABSENCE

My thoughts now that i've finished it (spoilers for the whole game)
-hate that you cant make your character fat
-love the characters and how they are introduced
-kinda hate astarion sorry. Didnt do his quest cause he was mean to me.
-the absolute being a big ass brain was so fucking funny to me i cant explain
-lae'zel is a failgirl and i love her
-i fucked that squid and regretted it. Found out that if you dont have tentacle sex with him he shows you fucked up shit he did. Really mean tbh 👎 will side with orpheus next time
-theres not 17000 endings there's like 3
-lots of weird visual glitches at least in the low settings
-i spotted a few continuity errors in the dialogue but i can forgive that cause there's so many routes to take
-game starts with a really nice pace in act 1, then it becomes reeeeeeeally slow in act 2 and way too fast in act 3.
-The combat system is really fun i love casting spells and fireballs 💥 the fight against ketheric was really good but the other two were meh. So much hype for orin and then she does nothing and dies. And gortash is like if elon musk was a dnd character (i deactivated his iphone robots and killed him in like 2 hits)
-best luck to the tiefling kids i hope the giant brain falling didnt kill them
-omeluum my love. The highlight of the game im not being sarcastic. Extremely good character reveal he has 2 lines of dialogue and i'd give him a hug and help him plan his wedding with blurg.
-game feels half cooked in general. It's a reeally massive game and they should have given it a few more years
-karlach... I love you dude
-seriously the ending was really rushed
-the giant ass brain is cool as fuck though so its ok i guess
-but i wanted to see more. What will hapen to the githyanki now. What about the illithids what about avernus. And the grove's tieflings and all of the people we met. They just show you the yay happy ending screen where are they where is omeluum
-cant we just give karlach heart surgery please. I have revivify spells
-overall good game solid 785/1000 i will play it again and be a cool dragon this time. And also destroy the druids this time cause they suck. Will steal their idol and eat it
-also when your character is rowing the boat towards the final fight they're only using one oar so they should be spinning in circles
-omeluum

New "I don't understand how BG3 has a reputation for being bug-free but I love it anyway" moment:
In my second playthrough, I never had any kind of romantic dialogue with any of my companions at all. On purpose. I wanted the playthrough to be very different from my first, and I'd already romanced Lae'zel, the only character I was interested in like that.
One night, Withers tells me I had a bossom companion. "Shadowheart?" I thought, reflecting on the night orchid I gave her. I talk to her, nothing seems amiss. I talk to everyone. Nobody has any romantic dialogue option like they do when you're dating them.
Go to sleep the next night, have a Dark Urge night terror, and Gale helps me out. Thanks bro.
Go to sleep the next night, Gale invites me to stargaze and tells me he loves me. Gale is by far my least-talked-to companion and I haven't interacted with him outside of feeding him boots and watching his interactions with Elminster.
I assume what happened under the hood is that the game considers you "in a relationship" as soon as the romance quest starts, and the Gale romance quest is considered "started" as soon as his stargazing scene enters the queue of things that can happen when you long rest. The game only allows one overnight cutscene to happen per long rest, so there was a days-long gap between "relationship start" and actually seeing the romance quest start, but Withers only checks the former variable. Arguably not a glitch per se, but definitely jank.
HOWEVER I choose to ignore all of this and take what happened as canon to my playthrough. Gale started catching feelings for the cute half-drow t-girl and just started talking to everyone about it, including the funny skeleton man, and Withers was the only one who took that to mean "oh yeah, those two are dating" rather than Gale just being a human puppy dog.
Oh and I told him I didn't feel the same way btw

also here is a quick update on the messy love life of my boy, Bertalan:
so finally I got the convo option to break the news about him hooking up with Gale... to Karlach. Which??????? i am confusion to say the least bc Berci never showed interest in her, she never showed interest in him so i have no idea where that's coming from
meanwhile he's romancing Lae'zel and Gale in peace, at one point he could've talked to Gale about L'Z but at that point I haven't made up my mind about which of them he should go for and then i never got the option again, neither of them got jealous as of yet, although at times an exclamation mark shows up over their head but they have nothing new to say (which could relate to anything but i'm guessing it's the jealousy convo glitching out and failing to trigger) sooooo yeah he might just have a polycule through the power of bugs

Alright. So. I'm not making this triangle conclusion because I like triangles
But because it's the only. the only conclusion I could make
For the morning after. After noticing Babe-
YOU'D THINK it'd go that Lae'zel and friends would never find out because even though I wanted to tell Lae'zel, A SHAME IT DIDN"T GIVE ME THE OPTION. A SHAME THE GAME WANTED ME TO KEEP THIS A DANG SECRET FROM MY TEAM AND JUST HAVE SOME SIMPLE-ASS INTERNAL CONFLICT.
But ohnononono, this magical patch 0 playthrough had other plans. Because for some reason. Babe was talking like we were in ACT 1 again. Babe became a killer coconut again
Babe knew. BABE KNEW ABOUT LAST NIGHT. AND BABE WAS CRANKY (understandably so of course)
And yet. Babe was also still allowing kisses. so. not. not OVER. BABE STILL LOVED THIS IDIOT HALF-ORC.
So. I could only conclude this. This is why.
and totally not because apparently it was a glitch (that they now fixed) all along pff
SO. Maybe just. This once. With this Tav. This playthrough. A Godsdamn Love Triangle friggin' happened alfdjkkasdj
Bonus (Because Greygold had to tell somebody):

I just finished act 2 (spoilers below the cut)
But I had to play through the assault on Moonrise Towers twice because the first time my game crashed and I lost a save. I could've just done it from right before the Ketheric fight since there's an autosave but I didn't have Gale in my party the first time so I swapped him in this time. And it was very rewarding.
Story wise, the ideal party for the act 2 finale is definitely Shadowheart, Gale, and Wyll for all their persona story beats but balancing them all out with a College of Swords Bard like my Robbie might not have been the best thing for me. Especially since I've barely used Wyll thus far and haven't played around with changing his class/stats at all yet.
Also I thought there might be something special if you had Halsin in your party fighting Ketheric, like a "I put you in the ground a century ago and I'll do it again by my own hands" kind of thing. But there wasn't. Maybe there's one with Jaheira if you have a free spot for her? But that's for another playthrough.
Part of why I didn't bring Gale along the first time was due to him being out of spell slots by the time I got to Moonrise. I'd taken him along to find the Nightsong and well. I'd had to restart that fight a couple times already because of several different glitches. Didn't know that there was a restoration thing in the mind flayer nursery! Which is why I want ahead and swapped Lae'zel out for him.
Also, UMMMMM how is it that I, The Player, pieced together that Isobel is Ketheric's daughter from a few pieces of flavor text in the Thorm family mausoleum, but when I tried confronting her there's no way you can ask??? Not even like. See her dodging the question? And then if you rummage around in private quarters in Moonrise, you can find letters from her and her mother all addressed to Ketheric.
I just think that having a build up that feels rewarding or like the game acknowledges you for piecing it together. Also it's pretty damn obvious. How much of this was caused by dramatic irony? Even with the knowledge that Ketheric didn't fully approve of Isobel and Dame Aylin's relationship because he was very protective of his daughter there's still plenty of details we haven't learned about all this. Yet.
But man does it feel kind of awful having broken up with Shadowheart right before finding the Nightsong
I know it's because I wanted everyone carnally and these are the consequences of making Robbie flirt with Everyone In Camp while absolutely still putting Astarion as my number one romantic target but a whore can still have feelings!
Anyway, I typed most of this at 4 AM after my game crashed RIGHT AT WYRM'S CROSSING
With Baldur's Gate in sight
Right after I had a chat with Astarion about how he's gonna go about fucking up Cazador
God I love him sm

1.Tell us about your Tav! Name, class and subclass, race, pronouns. Do you have a headcanon for where they're from? Their family? Are they a Dark Urge? Or did you choose an Origin Character? Was it an easy decision?
2. Was there something about the character creator that just couldn't capture your Character? Please tell us about their hair, facial hair, tattoos, piercings, disabilities, their trans or intersex body, or anything else you're comfortable sharing.
3. Has your Character been using their illithid powers?
4. Do you remember in which order you recruited your companions? Which companion introduction would have felt the most familiar / like home to your Tav / Character?
5. Do you remember the first humanoid enemy your Character killed? Was it the first person they've ever killed, in your opinion? Would they have been bothered by it?
38. Did your Character meet Barcus Wroot? How's he doing?
39. What does your Character think of Raphael?
44. Asker wants Blogger to choose a question from the list.
Many thanks! Going to answer these for Glimmergris from your fantastic list of questions!

Glimmergris, or Glimra Silvervein Gilbie, is a College of Lore Bard Deep Gnome, She/Her. She is from Silverymoon, but she's been working out of Neverwinter for about a decade as there is a lot of opportunity in the rebuild after the volcano erupted. Her family are back in Silverymoon - her mother Tilsedie (who is a long since retired semi-famous gem hunter) and her brothers and their families. She's a Tav origin, which felt right - I had a clear idea of her background and wanted that freedom.
Was there something about the character creator that just couldn't capture your Character? Please tell us about their hair, facial hair, tattoos, piercings, disabilities, their trans or intersex body, or anything else you're comfortable sharing.
I made her for this game specifically so didn't have a lot of ideas of what she would look like ahead of the character creator. I would have liked a few more jewellery options and different starting clothes - she loves a good gem and dresses expensively. But I was delighted with how she came out.
Has your Character been using their illithid powers?
Not at all! She does not trust it and only wants the tadpole removed. She's spent time in the Underdark, she knows how dangerous it is.
Do you remember in which order you recruited your companions? Which companion introduction would have felt the most familiar / like home to your Tav / Character?
It was Shadowheart, Astarion, Gale, Lae'zel, Wyll, Karlach. Lae'zel on the nautiloid was the most familiar to her as a Deep Gnome - all business, and to the point. They stay friends throughout.
Do you remember the first humanoid enemy your Character killed? Was it the first person they've ever killed, in your opinion? Would they have been bothered by it?
It was the guy in the tomb behind the locked door after fooling him that she was the other gnome - a move that would be VERY familiar to her as a more rogue-coded bard. It's business as usual really. She's not a killer per se, but she's definitely been around the more difficult parts of adventuring life throughout her life as the child of an adventurer.
Did your Character meet Barcus Wroot? How's he doing?
Barcus is a hugely important part of her story. In my game he glitched out of act 3 which I'm still mad about. She is also a deep gnome so the whole Ironhand plot is essentially her character arc. In the end he makes her rethink a lot of her ideas around survival at any costs, and I like to think they remain lifelong friends.
What does your Character think of Raphael?
As a bard she knows hundreds of songs and tales about Devils, and she trusts him about as far as she could throw him (which, for a gnome, isn't far.) Yet if she's honest, she enjoys a good game of cat and mouse, and takes great delight in subverting his expectations every time.
and I'll answer.... Is your Character accustomed to being on the road from before the events of the adventure?
Yes! She trained as a bard almost forty years earlier and has worked in the family business of finding gems since being a child. Adventuring and being on the move is all she's ever known. At the point of the adventure, she doesn't even have a permanent address.

So far on my current main three ocs in bg3:
accidental murder hobo Tiefling(sorcerer/monk) has already slept with Astarion. Has pissed off Tiefling children by doing nothing (glitch??) Murdered a bard. Did some bdsm??? Talks to every corpse he can find.
Loth Drow Warlock Niceboy has somehow got Karlach and Lae'zel trying to sleep with him even though he's trying to romance Gale. Took down the hag and let some chick have her undead husband. Let lose that beholder thing in the goblin camp and laughed hysterically as it only targeted the goblins. (Is currently the closest to completing act 1)
Druid Dragonborn whose kind of an asshole has not yet met the love of their life (Karlach) but has talked to every single animal they've come across.

I finished bg3!!! I still have the newly added epilogue left to do, but I'm procrastinating playing that because I don't wanna say goodbye to my babies. It only took me just under 94 hours, which is the longest it's ever taken me to finish a game, but that's unsurprising given how fucking MASSIVE bg3 is content-wise. I know for a FACT there's still a LOT of sidequests I missed on my first playthrough.
My computer couldn't really handle the graphics in all the cutscenes in the post-Act 3 stuff, so there were a lot of graphical glitches during that, which was sad. (The dragon was invisible for 99% of the final fight, Withers is perpetually naked now, Orpheus's mind flayer body has no textures, and when Lae'zel summoned the dragons at the end, they were all missing heads so they just had floating eyeballs, plus a few NPCs with their tits out in the cutscenes. Not to mention that a ton of other textures didn't fully load and were just smooth. (but that last one has always been a problem. just not to this extent.)) Tbf, my laptop is at least 4 years old at this point. It's not exactly a graphics powerhouse. The funny thing is that there's hardly ever any lag. Just texture issues.
The last fight was really frustrating, because I made Orpheus turn into the mind flayer, and dude has essentially NO HIT POINTS. (150, compared to the rest of the party. Gale was the next lowest with 172, but he hardly got touched the first 3/4 of the final fight. Mt GTav had the Amulet from the House of Hope, and so they had more HP than Lae'zel.) I think he died literally 3 times??? And went down at least 2 other times. In the end, it took both my Bard Tav and Shadowheart using both their action and bonus action every round to heal him enough to keep him upright so he could actually subdue the fucking Netherbrain. Ofc, then once he opened the portal, it took less than 2 rounds to finish the brain off.
I love this game so much, and I can totally see why it won GOTY. It's captivating, and well-made. (Imagine how perfect it could have been without crunch-time! Fuck corporate crunch time.) I enjoyed just about every aspect of it, from beginning to end. It's definitely up there in my list of favorite games, although I haven't played all that many game. It might even beat D:OS2 in terms of enjoyment, although I do wish bg3 has D:OS2's level of polish. (but then again, D:OS2 has been out for a while, and is in its Definitive Edition, so I suppose it makes sense.)
I will say that having to either choose a party member or Orpheus to become Illithid was... interesting. I'm glad they give us Orpheus as an option, because given that a lot of the characters have spent the entire game desperately avoiding becoming Illithid, it would be so counter-productive to their stories to have them transform at the last minute. Though, I suppose that is the devs' point. That being a hero means making hard choices, and sometimes those choices mean that you don't get to live to see the world you saved. Or that the world you saved will hate you afterwards.

So, the companions didn't freak out like I expected when I told them my character's huge dark urge secret this is what I forgot thing in Act 3.
That honestly surprised me? I figured the good aligned ones would at least be a bit wary.
Looooved finding the deep gnomes again. That was fun.
Looking forward to actually getting into the city though. I'm finally finding better clothes! Everyone in camp has new duds. Except Lae'zel because I can't find anything that works better on her than her clothes.
Astarion is, of course, in the light blue-ish psacock coat. He looks so good in it. Though I loved his original garb too.
Pirate shirts are some of my favourites.
Also, I have no idea how to hook up with Halsin. He always says the same thing. Do I need to trigger something with him?
Ran into a glitch, Gale wanted to yell at me for a deal I haven't actually made with Raphael yet. So that was weird.
This game is so outstandingly good!
