i’ve met and are friends w ppl like this lmao they tend to consume other types of media like books movies or podcasts/audio books but for me personally music is such a huge part of my life i get so excited to listen to music and when i find a song i’m like obsessed w it’ll stick w me for years lmao music is one of my love languages i swear

music has helped me though a lot of the more difficult parts of my life so far just having connections w the songs and having a cathartic release and escape from whatever has been causing me grief but also for the happier times of my life it’s just so important to me

it’s shown me a lot of the world that i don’t know through artists in different countries and languages but also how people think how creative they are to put their own imagination or world experiences into music for others to consume it’s insane lmao i could never do that not at all especially since i haven’t been through experiences that most of the artists i listen to have

even older music i listened to in the past is always smth new for me to see especially as i get older like music is never ending 😭

i try to be unapologetic w my music tastes but i’ve always shocked people w the music i listen to just bc i don’t look like i would listen to that music bc they perceive me in a certain way 🤠 even saying i went to the fall out boy concert some people were surprised i liked fall out boy 😭 especially since it was my 4th time seeing them like….those boys are ingrained into my life at this point lmao since i was a wee lass 🥹

music has helped to me to express feelings that i would know how to express otherwise ahhhg it makes me happy sad angry confused and everything in between and gives me confidence it’s so good 😭

you're not letting things flow at all 😭 if you want a relationship you have to actually let it happen. you also need to get all of your shit together before you date. that means no overs3xualizing yourself, no sabotaging, no isolation, no closing yourself off from people you love. none of that. you realize you have to also heal from the last relationship before jumping into a new one? you have to actually leave the toxic situations and environments so you have real time to recover.

so there's either new love or experiencing love a new way with someone. take it slow and don't rush through it. trust your intuition and yourself especially when it comes to deciding who's right for you. when i say don't rush, just make sure you're prepared and try to rest a bit until the new love/new view of love comes. the smell of fresh hot breakfast woke you from your slumber. a smile already forming on your lips as you rose from the bed, yawning before getting up and slipping your chunky feet into your soon to be husbands slides. mornings have been like this everyday since you and ony found out you were pregnant with your bundle of joy, omari.

“g’mornin mama, how you feelin” ony pressed a kiss to your bonnet covered head as you wrapped your arms around his side while he cooked. you inhaled what remained of his cologne, sighing with happiness flowing through your body as you took in the sight of your handsome fiancé. “mornin baby. feelin pregnant” you smiled as ony lowered the heat on the stove, turning towards you so he can lay his palm on your stomach. his outstretched hand was so big that it took up most of the front of your baby bump. “aww, my boy giving you hell?” his morning voice caressing your ears softly, making you smile as you looked up at his beautifully brown features. “lil bit, but i should be good once i eat”

the sound of didn’t cha know by erykah badu began to softly play throughout your home. memories of how you and ony used to smoke to this song almost every morning. the base of the song booming through his nearly broken speaker as the two of you would just enjoy each others presence on the couch of the apartment you two bought together. blunts in hand as you’d let the music flow through your bodies. you were older now, more mature, and very pregnant. the little ache for a little bit of weed gone for good as you stood with the love of your life in your new house.

“dance wit me mama” ony said softly, leaving no room for interjection as he led you to the middle of the living room. his big hand softly holding yours before lightly pulling your head towards his broad chest. you instinctively wrap your arm around his neck as he held your waist. both of your other hands conjoined together in the air. the two of you swayed side to side to the rhythm of the music, letting your minds wander to all the things you’ve been through that brought you to this moment.

“i love you” you whispered, your emotions getting the best of you as small tears began to fall for your cheeks. ony just wiped them up, already knowing how you got when you’d hear this song. you’ve had a pretty chaotic life, never even imagining that it’d be anything like it is now. you were more than grateful for your man and this song was a reminder to you that he’s been with you since the beginning. ony kissed your cheeks, his eyes beginning to water as well before he laid your head back in his chest.
