#hotel #vinicola #restaurante #chateaulacoste #provence #caminhada #propriedade #louisebourgeois #renzoplano #andygoldsworthy #adega #jeannouvel #pratossazonais #café #tadaoando #passagens #viagens #viagensdeluxo #luxo #turismodeluxo #mercadodeluxo #luxury #luxurytravel #passagensaereas #hoteis #resort #resorts #travel #trip #hernonjr • • • @hernon @hernonjr @travelgramtravel (em Château La Coste) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnK4MZRuSl4/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Cloth Lullaby: The Woven Life of Louise BourgeoisContributor(s): Novesky, Amy (Author) , Arsenault, Isabelle (Illustrator) EAN: 9781419718816 Publisher: Harry N. Abrams Binding: Hardcover Copyright Date: 2016 Pub Date: March 01, 2016 Target Age Group: 05 to 07 Physical Info: 1.27 cms H x 28.19 cms L x 23.11 cms W (0.45 kgs) 40 pages Annotation: Louise Bourgeois (1911 2010) was a world-renowned modern artist noted for her sculptures made of wood, steel, stone, and cast rubber. Her most famous spider sculpture, "Maman," stands more than 30 feet high. Just as spiders spin and repair their webs, Louise's own mother was a weaver of tapestries. Louise spent her childhood in France as an apprentice to her mother before she became a tapestry artist herself. She worked with fabric throughout her career, and this biographical picture book shows how Bourgeois's childhood experiences weaving with her loving, nurturing mother provided the inspiration for her most famous works.

Artist Research - Louise Bourgeois

Artist Research -Louise Bourgeois
Louise Joséphine Bourgeois was a French-American artist. She is mostly known for her sculptural works, but was also a painter and printmaker.
In these particular 'soft sculptures', Bourgeois repurposes her old clothes that were once gathering dust in one of her old Manhattan apartments.
"The works refute the classical view of the female body as a glossy object or passive muse."

"The Good Mother", (2003), is one of the most interesting of her pieces to me. My interpretation of this piece is a woman, trapped in her reproductive duties, as the threads slowly unwind. I also think it's interesting how the sculpture has no arms, as if she has no control over her actions and she can't pul away from the unwinding.
This artist was recommended to me during my progress review and I find her work really interesting.

Tony Podesta's "art". Headless torso statue is in the exact same pose as one of Jeffrey Dahmer's victims. Louise Bourgeois created the "Arch of Hysteria" statue in 1993. This was 2 years after the arrest of Jeffrey Dahmer, who raped, dismembered, and ate 17 humans from 1978-1991. Victims were as young as 14 and as old as 36. Dahmer would put each of his victims in different positions before photographing them. Tony Podesta smiling next to the Bourgeois' statue. Being that both the headless victim's body and the statue's headless torso, along with Dahmer's arrest in '91 and the statue's creation in '93, coincidence? Inspiration? Gwyneth Paltrow has also been pictured smiling next to Podesta's statue. #jeffreydahmer #netflix #monsterjeffreydahmer #monsterjeffreydahmerstory #ryanmurphy #evanpeters #serialkiller #thearchofhysteria #gwenethpaltrow #tonypodesta #tonypodestaart #LouiseBourgeois https://www.instagram.com/p/CjPR2nZMfos/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

While we were at the Met we made a point to see 3 exhibits. The Chroma: Ancient Sculpture in Color, Kimono Style: The John C. Weber Collection, and Louise Bourgeois: Painting. Three very different exhibits but so enlightening. To see the sculptures in full painted color really jars our modern eye and makes you rethink the aesthetics of the period and how we’re so saturated with color now but how they had to add it to theirs. The kimonos, and fashions evolved from and influenced by them, really made me long for garments that have that much care and craftsmanship. Those skills and fabrics and details are not available to most now and I wish I had the ability and time to dedicate myself to embroidery. Plus I loved the mix of traditional garment shapes with bold modern graphic patterns. The Louise Bourgeois Painting comprised a small collection but they were so intimate and personal. You really were able to feel her thoughts on family, relocation and her own body. We go to the Met to visit old favorites but we come away seeing new things and having new ideas, impressions and knowledge. .... #UnderGlassCollection #ShoeDaydreams #CuratedCloset #TheClosedDoorCollection #SophisticatedPrecious #TheCarnelianKitten #shoes #met #metmuseum #chromaancientsculptureincolour #sculpture #paintings #art #artist #LouiseBourgeois #kimonostyle #kimono #thombrowne #maisonmargiela #reikawakubo #commedesgarcons #isseymiyake #fabric #exhibitions #exhibit #museummile #newyork #nyc #ues @metmuseum @metmembers @metancient @thombrowne @maisonmargiela @commedesgarcons (at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChFHbIjODkW/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
