pairing⁀➷ geralt of rivia x fem!reader
word count⁀➷ 1.3k
summary⁀➷ Much to your fathers disliking, you not only serve a Witcher in his tavern, but you also leave with Geralt to find his child of surprise.
warnings⁀➷ people being mean to geralt and reader, soft!geralt, swearing, making out, kind of ‚fast pace' relationship, not a good father daughter relationship
a/n⁀➷ is the relationship of geralt and reader a little fast pace? definitely but we don’t care lmao (if I missed a warning let me know pls!)
sorry the ‘read more’ is still not working properly
The tavern fell silent as a tall man entered. His features were covered by the large hood that he had pulled deep into his face, but you could see the white, almost silver, hair that peeked out of it. The smell he wore told you everything you needed to know. Everyone knew who he was - a Witcher.
Geralt of Rivia, the butcher of Blaviken as some called him.
He took off his hood, revealing his amber eyes. It almost looked as if they were glowing. He came to the bar and sat down on one of the stools. The Witcher barely looked at you as he slid a coin to you and silently stared at the wood. You took the coin and placed a mug full of fresh ale in front of him.
"I don't serve witchers in my tavern, Y/N. That son of a bitch should find another place!"
Your father spoke loudly as he approached you.
"You don't, I do. He pays, just like the others."
Your dry reply made the Witcher raise his head. He looked at you. Studied you. You could feel his gaze on you like it was burning into your skin.
Your father stood before you, enraged, staring at you, then turning his attention to his unwanted guest.
He was about to open his mouth to speak, but you interrupted him.
"One of the men back there asked for you. I'll take care of the rest."
The Witcher raised an eyebrow as he watched the whole scene from up close. You turned back to him, ignoring your father who, fortunately for you, only walked away in a huff.
"Can I get you anything else?"
As if nothing had happened, Geralt thought, and had to strongly suppress a grin. Much to his astonishment.
He wordlessly slipped you another coin.
And again you gave him a new jug in return. Curiously, you leaned your arms against the counter and looked at him. "Geralt of Rivia, right?" He looked up from his drink and eyed you again. "Mhm." was all he said.
"I heard you're looking for your child of surprise." His gaze was still fixed on you, something that wasn't entirely unpleasant. "I can help."
Geralt breathed out a laugh, tilted his head, and with a slow flutter of his eyelashes, looked directly into your eyes. "You?"
"Of course, it could all be a rumour, but I heard that a woman took in a young girl just a few days ago. Not far from here." He was still staring at you through his Witcher eyes.
"I know her, I can show you the way."
Still no movement from him. But it didn't surprise you, it was no special behaviour for his kind.
You still didn't give in and stared back.
Geralt knew it wouldn't be smart to take you with him.
You could already distract him too easily, make him forget what he had been trained all his life. But you were the first real clue to Cirilla of Cintra in weeks.
"How long will it take to get there?" he asked in a low voice that made your legs go soft.
"By horse, about three days."
The Witcher looked at his jug again, and his gaze lingered on it for a moment. Without you, he wouldn't get any further either, he had to try it at least.
"All right, then." he grumbled.
A grin formed on your lips.
As Geralt made a move to leave, you stopped him. "Oh no, you need sleep first. You look like you haven't slept in days. And a bath won't do you any harm either."
Your determination surprised him, and for a brief moment he wanted to go on looking for his child of surprise without you.
But you were right. He hadn't slept properly for days. The nightmares that plagued him made it impossible.
But he could accept a bath. Since he had killed that Kikimora, he stank of guts and blood.
„Mhm. All right.”
With a grin, you approached him, only to walk past him. "This way." You could feel Geralt's gaze on your body, as you had earlier. But now it was stronger, almost impossible to ignore. Goosebumps spread up your arms. His tall, broad figure towered over you as he followed you.
Geralt felt the eyes of the people and your father on the two of you as you disappeared into one of the doorways that lead to the guest rooms.
The wooden door opened with a creak, revealing one of the plain rooms.
"You can sleep here tonight, l'll go and prepare a bath for you. If you-"
Large hands gripping your hips softly, interrupted you. Geralts eyes looked back and forth between your lips and eyes. "I think the bath can wait." he growled and pulled you against him.
With ease, he closed the door behind you with his foot and pressed you against it in the same movement. His hands found their way to your back.
His eyes studied every inch of you, and again it seemed as if his eyes were glowing. Before you could think, you wrapped your arms around his neck and pressed your lips to his. He seemed to like it, because Geralt grabbed your waist a little tighter, lifted you up and sat down on the bed, with you straddling him.
He had already left a few marks on your neck that would certainly be seen for some time. His hands roamed your body as your lips found their way over his chin to his neck to leave a trail of kisses. You noticed how Geralt was concentrating on something else as he tensed slightly.
He leaned over to your ear, „Your father is eavesdropping.” You stopped kissing his neck, a wicked smile spreading across your face.
Without warning, you leaned back a little in Geralt's lap, but held on with your hands on the back of his neck.
"Mhmm Geralt!" you moaned his name, loud enough for your father to hear. Geralt looked at you with this small grin that spread across his lips so rarely. With one swift motion, he grabbed you tighter and kissed you hard, which made you moan into his mouth in surprise.
This time without pretending.
When he parted from your lips, his eyes went to the door. “He's gone.” he grinned with his usual low voice.
You chuckled, shaking your head. "Good thing I'm going with you because they would hunt me down after this, him being in the lead."
"Mhm" Greralt grumbled with an evil smile. "Sleeping with a mutant," his eyes looked directly into yours, "Bad, bad girl."
"Oh, shut up." you laughed as you hit his shoulder but he already started kissing you again.
When the two of you left the tavern the next morning, the marks on your neck were still clearly visible. Geralt had made sure everyone would see it.
"Fucking whore!" some drunk men and women shouted after you, still drinking or already drinking again. But one look from Geralt was enough to shut them up.
Whatever they were ranting about, they were still more afraid of the Witcher than anything else.
"My horse is outside." spoke Geralt softly into your ear from behind. You looked up at him and nodded.
"Where are you going?!" your father shouted when he saw you and the Witcher. Without moving a muscle of your face, you answered him. “Finding his child of surprise.”
"I have not raised you to be a fucking whore for a fucking mutant." he shouted after you, as you were already making your way to the door. You would've said nothing and just left. Geralt, on the other hand, would not.
He slowly turned around, and you could see the fear in your father's eyes. Geralt didn't even have to say anything, he just turned back to you, put one of his big hands on your lower back and walked out of the tavern with you.
"We're leaving. Now." he murmured angrily.
He wouldn't be able to hold himself back for much longer.

The Assassin and the Knight
Welp. It’s officially June 8th, so happy one year to this post and my sad, very first attempt at fanart ;-;
Now that it’s been a year of weekly practice, I am honestly so happy to see the progress I’ve made! No, it’s not crazy dramatic or anything, but it’s something, and for someone that never thought they’d get far, started pretty late in life, and was fairly overwhelmed, I feel satisfied with the development I’ve made.
I can see the progression when looking at the different things I have drawn over the past year…
It’s subtle, but my lighting and shading has improved, as well as my anatomy. I still need so much practice with backgrounds, perspective rendering, etc.., but hopefully I’ll keep learning at a steady pace. (Yes, I have drawn Bloody Crow a LOT jsknjsk).
Anyway, I made this post for Ciaran and Artorias, because it started with them. Last year, Lyilenor’s fic about them was being updated regularly, and while I’ve said it many times, it was one of the best fics I had read. The writing was so good that it inspired me to improve my own, and actually treat writing fanfiction like writing a book. Some will say you don’t need to do that, but I actually enjoy it so much that I don’t think I’ll ever go back to how I used to write.
Amazingly, Lyilenor’s fic also inspired me to finally try fan-art, so I drew a little scene from the last chapter that was posted before she disappeared without a trace. Ever since then I have been thriving off of that inspiration and drawing as much as I could. So, today I finally “redrew” my original doodle but with more of an intimate feel. It’s obviously a bit different, but hey, it’s still ✨them✨and even though I’m not a very loud shipper, I still love this pairing so much. They’re my favorite Dark Souls characters <3
So, here’s to more years of practice and hopefully more vivid improvement 🥂

How Legolas and Arwen meet
Ok, so these two did not meet at an official event, nor could you say it was by accident.
And no one had any idea that they would later become partners in crime.
See these two met when Arwen was still only a little elfling, while Legolas was already several centuries old. Old enough to have lived through the last alliance. So in a sense it would be difficult to predict that these two would become as close knit as they were.
Legolas didn’t accompany his father to see Arwen when she was first born bc he was busy with patrols at the time and a while after Thranduil had returned.
So it was only some years later that he had the time to visit the peredhils. And when he did arrive, Elrond and Celebrian were busy (understandable), so he went to search out the twins.
Only to have the two younger elves all but dump an annoyed Arwen in his arms, make him her baby sitter, and disappear around the corner before he could get a protest in.
Well that was nice. He now had a struggling elfling held awkwardly in his arms and about a hundred questions in his head.
1. Why were those two idiots so careless to dump her in someone’s grasp when they were a stranger to her with no forewarning?
But i digress.
Legolas:....
Arwen:....
Legolas: ...hi
Arwen: who are you
Legolas: Legolas, i’m from Greenwood and am a friend of your brothers. Which is probably why they dropped you into my arms without a second thought.
Arwen: you look funny
Legolas, wearing standared silvan garb, which is different from the clothes commonly worn in imlardis: you really don’t pull your punches, huh?
Arwen: Naneth said that honesty is the best policy
Legolas: well then you should listen to her. Now what were you doing before we were unceremoniously tossed together?
Arwen, scowls: i am supposed to have dancing lessons, but i don’t wanna! Dancing is for little girls who need rescuing, and i don’t need rescuing!
Legolas: no, when you grow up, people will need rescuing from you. I can already tell that you’ll be a fearsome warrior
Arwen, nodding confidently: exactly!
Legolas: which is why you should learn to dance
Arwen: but you just said i wouldn’t need rescuing!
Legolas: true, you won’t. Let me tell you a secret.
Arwen, leaning in, whispers: ok
Legolas: i’m a warrior and i know how to dance
Arwen, skeptical: really?
Legolas, nodding solemly: yes, all of my people are taught how to dance, and those who become warriors find they have an easier time learning to fight than those who didn’t grow up dancing.
Arwen: i don’t know if i believe you...
Legolas: that’s perfectly alright, you shouldn’t believd everything anyone tells you. So i’ll prove it to you, and show you during your dance lessons.
Arwen: alright, and what do i get if you’re wrong?
Legolas: i’ll help you prank your brothers.
Arwen: Deal!
Later
Elladan: i’m surprised that you got her to do her dancing lessons! She’s surprisingly headstrong, especially for a little elfling.
Legolas, grinning: i just told her that children amongst my people are taught dances that replicate fighting so that they’ll have an easier time learning how to fight.
Elrohir: really??
Legolas: it is ridiculous how well such a flamboyant sport translates to physical violence.
Twins: huh
Arwen, cheering: Las also promised to teach me how shoot if i went to my lessons without complaint!
The twins: *choke*

alright, i have come to the decision i am keeping this blog up as an archive and leaving the gt tumblr community for the foreseeable future.
when i made my post about chamomile-g-tea’s damaging treatment of my story, gtms, my goal was to acknowledge the situation so i could hopefully move forward and restore gtms/my blog as mine again, without her influence. and while i anticipated backlash, some of the responses were just...downright disturbing. lots of comments echoed a victim-blaming sentiment that i am responsible for the emotional and creative damage done to me by another person because ‘why didn’t you just say no or tell her to stop?’ not only does this ignore the several attempts i did make to express discomfort and set boundaries—which were not respected—but even if i didn’t manage to express a ‘no’, that doesn’t make what happened ok; it doesn’t erase the year of crippling pressure and guilt i lived with and still struggle to shake daily. realizing that so many people in this community think otherwise is just...disturbing. it’s disturbing. that’s the only word i can think to use.
the response to all this does not make me feel safe being here—that’s what this situation has unfortunately showed me: that the audience i hoped to allow to view my reclaiming process would also contain the same crowd who make me feel so unsafe—and why the fuck would i let those people see something as personal as that? why would i let them see anything? it’s made me understand i can’t continue to heal myself and my writing if i am posting it for other people, especially harmful people. and even though it turned out this way, i’m glad i gave it a shot; that i made that post as an effort to see if it was even possible or worth it to restore this space—even if the answer was no! absolutely fucking not!—because it saved me from even more time spent sharing my work with people who do not respect me as a person or a creator. i’m glad i tried, however much it sucked, because it allowed me to understand: it is not just one person in this community i feel unsafe with, but a solid percentage of the community at large that i just cannot healthily engage with, and no amount of blocking will fix that.
but of course this is not the only situation that showed me this community’s true colors—the dismissive or outright aggressive response to the calling out of racism in our tropes has also been deeply disturbing. to clarify, there is no problem in identifying with and finding comfort or catharsis in problematic tropes such as the pet trope, but there is a problem with using that comfort to make others feel unsafe and speak over people of color. and the solution to this trope problem is very simple—generally apply critical thinking skills to the media you enjoy, and tag your shit properly (dead dove, particularly when the giant owner/abuser doesn’t face consequences and/or if the abused/abuser fall in ‘love’—dead dove is not actually currently used in this community, that’s the problem). but rather than taking this as an opportunity to listen and improve, it was instead used as a chance to lash out at and make clear that poc are not welcome in this community and come secondary to the feelings of white creators and readers.
over the last few years, this community has fostered and been exposed for bigotry such as terfs, ableists, racists, etc, and especially in the current political era, this is no longer a community i want to share my work with or even just lurk in. and i know on the surface this community seems progressive, but take a better look and you’ll find members of the community doing and saying…questionable things, or keeping quiet and enabling their friends who do and say questionable things because they would rather be passive and polite than be genuinely kind and compassionate through active accountability.
of course this is the risk you take interacting with any person ever—but it’s especially taxing to look around at such a small, close knit community you know is riddled with these problems and wonder if the people making innocent posts are actually harmful; if they prioritize their comfort over the safety of marginalized people, if they even see you as a full person, and for me, personally—if they are willing to overlook consent to blame you for your trauma and defend the person who inflicted it. it’s taxing to explain basic basic concepts to strangers over and over in a place that prides itself on being a safe space, where people just have fun and mentally escape from irl hardships. it’s taxing to ride out shitty, hateful treatment when you are just simply one person (voluntarily providing free services btw) with only so much energy and fucks to give. it is not worth the strain it puts on you as a person, nor is it your responsibility to sit there and accept it, and i am not the only creator in this community who feels this way. we are fucking tired.
quite simply, this is not a community i feel comfortable participating in or sharing anything with. and that’s a shame, because there are wonderful, creative and caring people here who i have enjoyed sharing this space with, and maybe someday i’ll give this community another chance, but currently it’s just not worth the time of day. and i want to make it clear: my leaving is not simply because of just one person or just one situation—that i could handle—it is the community itself that is the root problem; that continues to be harmful, in multiple contexts—that is the reason why i and several other creators are leaving for greener pastures and more enjoyable communities—or just simply for a fucking moment’s worth of peace, because lord knows you won’t find it here.
