Hi Kiko,
I love your work, you are my favorite sim creator, you have the best hair styles for sims 4 people of color.
I wanted to know if you can make more long natural hair styles - (locs with clips/gold and silver) in different styles for the women in sims 4 :)?
like some long locs with long side bangs
some with clips
different ombre and color options
more edges
hidden scalp, or brown variation of scalps, (brown or black scalp)
I used the gif below to show a example hairstyle that looks different and cool.
-
Hair, clothes, and shoes is most important to me in sims 4.
Thank you for having this option to contact you,
Sincerely,
Nikki

I appreciate your admiration towards my artwork but this is a very disrespectful thing to ask of me. I'm not sure if this is an innocent ask, I don't see how it is because I know you've heard black people ask other cultures to not appropriate our hairstyles but I could be wrong, if this is innocent below are my boundaries, and explanations on why I (Kiko Vanity; I'm not speaking for the whole black community) I'd like to not be asked things like this in the future.
my boundaries and why
I do not make hair for people of color. People of color is a broad way to say people who are not of White/European/Anglo-Saxon phenotypes. That means people of Asian, Hispanic/Latino, African, Mixed-Race, and Aboriginal descent; and I create CC for simmers who appreciate my artwork but mainly and ideally create CC HAIRS for simmers of African descent, (including mixed race if they also have African descent) because of the lack of black hairstyles in the initial release of the game in 2014, with that, these black simmers create sims that also reflect their environments and black upbringings. I make black content if you feel comfortable downloading my content you should be comfortable saying black. I want to stress black and not African-American (despite me being African American) because there are different ethnicities for each race, including black people.
2. I am not currently taking hair requests because I'd get too many at one time and that's not great for my mental health. To piggyback off the last sentence and statement 1, please do not request my cultural hairstyles using someone who doesn't respect our wishes. You may be asking yourself, "why is this an issue? hair is hair?" (look below)
During chattel slavery, every fiber of the enslaved Africans' lives was controlled by the narcissistic people who kidnapped them. including hair, being made to cover their hair, and calling them names & degrading them for their natural hair. As the years went by and slavery ended black people but more specifically black fem presenting people held the shame for their hair. Fast forward to today, even with all the turmoil the world is facing due to greed, classism, and the patriarchy) this is the first time in history that their descendants (me being one of them) can set boundaries and say what we are comfortable with and what we are not comfortable with. And to put this as bluntly as I can:
Do not send me videos/photos/gifs of people culturally appropriating in black people's hairstyles, it's anxiety-inducing.
I'd like to also say I'm not angry because I know there is an angry black person stereotype, this is simply uncomfortable and disheartening. I hope you can respect my wishes if not please feel free to block me.
Lastly,
You don't have to respect or do anything I am saying. You may do as you wish after reading this. Just if you are going to engage with me these are my boundaries.

Benimaru x black! Fem! Reader, Shinra x black! Fem! Reader
Synopsis: Which hairstyles they like on you the most
TW: None
Note: pictures aren’t mine, all are from Pinterest!
— BENIMARU
⇶ Benimaru is a very simple man when it comes to the things that please him
⇶ So while he thinks you’re gorgeous no matter what, he swears you’re the only person in the world when you have Fulani braids, regular box braids, or French curl braids
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⇶ Fulani braids are his absolute favorite, and he takes no action in hiding that
⇶ Compliments you a lot already, but when you come home from a day out with Fulani braids, the affection from him seems uncharacteristically endless
⇶ Loves them with wooden beads especially, and if you have his name spelled out that in the beads, he might lose all his composure
Tumblr media
⇶ Can’t stop staring at them, and will just walk up to you and position them to where he can see his name in them
⇶ Especially when when he’s a little tipsy off sake, he’ll ask you over and over to show him while you’re sat on his lap and he has a dopey grin while kissing up the side of your face and neck
⇶ For box braids, he just loves how simple yet versatile they are
⇶ Always comes up behind you while you’re doing your hair and just watches you with adoration in his eyes
⇶ When you get done and ask him what he thinks, he always says “beautiful, as always, my love” and gives you a peck on the lips
⇶ While some may argue that French curl braids aren’t exactly simple, Beni just loves how the ends are so beautifully curled, and thinks you look so enamoring and elegant with them
⇶ Loves to fix your curls if they get tangled or one is out of place
⇶ And when you’re cuddling, he always gently pulls on the curls just to watch them bounce back up
⇶ Beni doesn’t care if your hair is long or short, but for styling he likes anything with claw clips, and half up half down. For colors he loves plain black, brown, or ginger
⇶ And for bolder colors, he likes dark blue or red (to match his eyes)
⇶ Beni is honestly a sucker for anything you do, but less really is more to him x
— SHINRA
⇶ Shinra LOVES locs
⇶ Natural or faux, it doesn’t matter to him
⇶ Just thinks locs are so beautiful on you, especially if they’re bright and colorful
⇶ For faux locs, he likes butterfly and distressed the most
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⇶ Doesn’t matter if they’re long or short either, he loves it all
⇶ For natural locs, he helps you maintain them, with your guidance of course
⇶ Does your detox and wash for you, but he can’t help past that as much as he’d like to
⇶ He’s tried to watch retwist tutorials, and you’ve let him practice on you, but he just can’t get it
⇶ It makes him a little sad honestly, because he does wanna help but he just can’t do it
⇶ He’ll be able to with a bit more practice, but until then he just adds the clips onto your hair while you retwist
⇶ On top of his love for locs, he loves your natural hair
⇶ And again, especially if it’s dyed
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
⇶ Short, mid length, long, he doesn’t care!!!
⇶ Shinra loves when you have it out in an afro, but puffs, claw clips, and finger waves are all close rivals
⇶ He’s actually fully capable of helping you on wash days, so you can relax while he gets to work
⇶ He’s also oddly fast when he washes it for you? Much faster than you are or anyone else when they wash your hair, you don’t know how but you don’t question it either
⇶ He can even blow your hair out for you, and when it comes to protecting it before bed, he’s pretty decent at braiding and twisting!
⇶ But don’t bother asking for flat twists or cornrows, he will try his best, but your hair will be left in a tangled mess
⇶ Shinra loves putting on your bonnet for you too
⇶ If it’s been a long wash day, or you started late in the day just to finish late at night, he always runs to get your bonnet for you and gently slips it on your head before kissing your cheek
⇶ Really though, he’s just in love with your hair. And if your hair is as bold as he is, he’ll love it even more

It had been nearly six months since the world of (Y/N) (L/N) had been flipped upside down and changed for the absolute worst..all your life, you had always heard that things could change in the blink of an eye. Something you only believed to be a catchy little phrase..that was until it became your very daunting reality. One day, you're moving into your dream home with the love of your life and partner of five years, making waves throughout your company, quickly climbing your way atop the food chain in your illustrious career and just living the best life possible…the next? distraught and crying into the arms of friends, family and helpful strangers as you all scoured the streets, searching for your lost soulmate..a man, who by all accounts should have been able to hold his own and then some. With plans of that day to come straight home once he left work so the two of you could have your regularly scheduled date night. However, they didn’t come to fruition, and instead..you found yourself traipsing down to the police station, spending long nights conducting searches and praying for his safe return. You lost sleep, you could barely find the strength to eat and bathe. An absolute wreck by all definitions. (Y/N) had planned everything around spending the rest of forever with him but now that he was gone..it all seemed futile and quite frankly, hopeless.
but how exactly had this tragedy come to be? Only God knew..
Suguru Geto was a man who had no known enemies. Or friends for that matter. He was considered to be very closed off and introverted. Despite that, he possessed a kind heart and gentle soul. He was sweet, loving, attentive..the type of person that any woman would be lucky to call her own. He first swept you off of your feet when the two of you met back in college. Where he was studying to become an art major and you, marketing. He worked at the coffee shop you often frequented during late night study sessions..where you’d catch the tall, handsome stranger ogling you behind the counter and even joining you when it became slow and desolate. He’d watch you twirl that pencil around your various hairstyles from the butterfly locs to the blonde ombre lace front that really made his heart flutter when you wore it. You guys grew extremely close and eventually began dating. You guys had a wonderful time together and fast forward a few years and some change, you were still going strong. Once you guys graduated, you started working at a top marketing firm and Suguru upstarted his very own architectural company, drawing layouts for different large infrastructure around the city. You purchased a gorgeous home; one he helped design himself to accommodate your needs. In between that time, he proposed to you underneath the moonlight at a candlelit dinner, serenaded by a pianist that played your favorite song. A wonderful night that would only be rivaled by the storybook wedding and dream honeymoon to Dubai that would follow. He had helped curate a life many women would give their last for. Pampered, spoiled and well kept..and just last year, you had given birth to your first child. A beautiful daughter named Sanaa..an angel on earth and a spitting image of Suguru. In both spirit and physical appearance. You both adored her so much. He was an amazing father and spoiled your little girl to no end. Which is what made this entire ordeal all the more sad! Your baby cried for nights on end; even if she couldn’t communicate it, you knew she longed for her daddy. But alas, he was nowhere to be found.
“Please, Suguru. Come home..she needs you. I need you..”
A plea you uttered with all the strength you could muster in an interview as you wiped your tear stained eyes with a tissue in front of the news cameras. You were distraught. However, your sorrow would soon come to end in the best scenario possible! In a fate practically unheard of or seen, your beloved husband came back to you..seven months after he vanished. You were astounded. There he was, in the flesh. Standing on your doorstep in a sweatshirt of your alma mater and a pair of Nike Techs..the EXACT same outfit he was wearing when he left that fateful day. As he was only stopping in to check on some projects. That long black hair, flowing down to his shoulders and styled into a top knot. And of course, that same infectious smile that had captivated your heart when you first met him.
“Suguru..”
“I’m home..”
That he was and you were overcome with a plethora of emotions. From excitement, anger, denial. But more importantly..confusion. Because although you could see, feel and touch him, this man parading around as your husband and the father of your child was NOT your beloved Suguru Geto. The furthest thing from. Despite acting, sounding and hell, even making love to you the same way he did, you knew better. You knew there was no way that he was here..alive at least.
So again..how exactly had this tragedy come to be? Only God…and you knew..
Because the truth of the matter was..he had met his horrible fate and untimely demise months ago. By your own hands when you discovered that he had been cheating on you with a coworker. You flew into a blind rage..bashing his skull in with a vase and then proceeding to slash him up with a knife until he resembled that of a patchwork doll. You spent all night cleaning his blood and the remnants of his entire existence from your kitchen floor..only after burying his body in your backyard. Where your garden and back patio now lie. Who was this stranger posing as your husband? Who was this man smiling in your face and kissing you before heading off to work each day? What happened to the strange scar you had left on his forehead?..
“Why? Why did you have to come back?”

HOUSE OF THE DRAGON WIGOLOGY (101 AND WHAT MAKES A WIG, WIG).
Inspired by @blackbyrenflowers hotd wigs
First things first,
What is a wig?
A hair piece is attached to one's head. Many use it because it's basically a new head of hair. It's useful in theatre, tv, and movies because of continuity and not wanting to damage actors' hair. Black film stars have a unique relationship with it because even though it's a protective hairstyle and does what's stated above a lot of the times they get bad wigs because stylist don't have the skills to do their hair and it's used as a pin straight fall back. Recently (Ruth Carter, my beloved) strides have been made to be better and to integrate Black actors' actual hair. (Halle will be famous always)
Tumblr media
What is a good wig?
One that you can't tell that it's a wig. Or more so it doesn't exist in an uncanny space. Basically their are different types of wigs, but lacefronts are mostly used for cinema and theatre because they have a piece of sheer lace that blends into the skin for this exact reason. Because it's extremely popular in black and queer spaces, the standards for a good wig are high.
Tumblr media
What's a bad wig?
In contrast, a bad wig, you can tell it's a wig. You can see lace, you can see the line of the lace, you can see the actors' hair underneath, or it doesn't look like real hair within the world. The within the world difference is necessary because sometimes a wig is a part of a costume or look that's meant to communicate that it's a wig. Think drag, think colourful wigs. It's an accessory for the concept of the outfit. Wigs in movies or TV can be similar, but it's never meant to take you out of the world.
Tumblr media
WHY HOTD S1 WIGS ARE BAD?
They take us out of the world. Characters like Rhaenys and Rhaena look like they're hiding dragon eggs in their hair.
Laena and Baela have open, synthetic curls for the most part, and they stop Baela’s loc journey half way through.
Jace has a helmet looking wig.
Tumblr media
The others have okay hair, but styles aren't the level of the most prosperous time in the Houses Targaryen's and Velayron's Reign.
If you don't notice it's fine and go on but when you do, like me with a love of costuming and a fan of Game of Thrones before, the intricate design of Daenerys is lost in the past and given a simpler design.
Alicent has the best wig in the show but she always looks like a Queen (episode 8 was tough). The extravagance of these houses is lost in the styling. The beauty is lost in the simplicity of characters design who in the books have extravagant wealth and nobility with a facade to match.
Hotd also falls into the "Black hair, barely care" trope with black actors. The locs were one of the best choices, but no one can deny Laenor as Jace's dad with the matching helmet wig. Laena and Baela suffer from unstyled curls and Rhaena’s hair is full of secrets (and hate crimes, hbo, I'm in your walls)
SO, IS SEASON 2 BETTER?
So far, yes. We have an established hair language in the world with season 1, but season 2 seems to take strides with the wigs and costumes, especially with the black characters so hopefully we've made it through dark times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If only Laena was around to be redeemed.

Your posts about spiders hair, and how it could symbolize him feeling neglected throughout his life gave me the idea of what if Quarich tried to do his hair, Obviously Quarichs bad at it and doesn’t know what he’s doing but he’s actually trying, unlike everyone else who just did something to keep it put Quarich actually tries his best to give him a hairstyle to the best of his Ability
a quick note, I typed half of this post before realizing I misunderstood what you were saying, so this post is gonna have a whole bunch of stuff, cause I really like what I had even if it was a bit off-topic, so I'm leaving it.
~~~
In that post, I actually mean his hair could be a symbolization of his identity and connection to both his human and na'vi self, but I really like this idea too, so you get two answers (actually 3, heed the note).
With Quaritch, I think it would be seen less in him actually doing Spider's hair, at least at first (cause doing someone's hair is super intimate). it would start with little comments, questions, and gestures; asking how he maintains such a head of hair, why he has it styled like that, tussling it out in the field. when he finds out how badly SPider's hair has been neglected, he offers him the time, place, materials, and push to take it into his hands. he simply pays attention to it, and it gives Spider a sense of fulfillment he's never had before, and a sense of confidence.
I think as time passed and the two got closer, he'd start helping out with the boy's hair, helping him scrub it, learning to braid it and tie it up in different ways. he would push Spider to do what he wants with it, not what someone did with it a lifetime ago; and when spider finally collects the courage to start his hair over (cause when hair is matted, like white hair is, when 'locked', especially for that long, there's no bouncing back from it, it just has to be cut off) he's right behind him cause it kills Spider to do it (I'm gonna come back to this).
The way Quaritch and Spider's hair would symbolize a change from the neglect he knew, to the love and care of his father, would be that Quaritch inspires change, he pays attention to his hair, loves him, and shows it to him through small gestures.
~~~
second answers;
Spider's hair is the one tie he has to being na'vi, at least in his mind; he has no na'vi body, he has no true na'vi family (outside of the kids, but that's different), he has nothing besides the hair given to him by his adoptive father. he clings to them as some sort of proof that he belongs, much like the stripes he paints onto himself.
so as his hair begins to change, it isn't necessarily him letting go of his na'vi culture, but more the false feelings and ideas he has about what it means to be na'vi. He feels like he has to be different, he has to change, he has to be something else to be na'vi; when in reality, he just needs to be himself (he has a connection to pandora, no doubt, he was born and raised there. he has the animals and Kiri's respect, and that's how he connects to Eywa, he has to put in much more effort, but he shows her everyday how devoted he is to her, her world, and her people). Cutting off his locs, growing his hair out as he pleases, would symbolize him accepting himself as he is, no longer trying to be something he isn't.
~~~
now to finally answer your actual question (cause I'm an idiot who apparently can't read)
I think Quaritch would be like the single dad stereotype when it comes to hair. There's a sharp learning curve, cause A. he has no knowledge of hair and how to take care of it, especially curly hair like spiders B. spider is not him, he's not just gonna keep it shaven, and he most definitely will still see his hair with a lot of importance, he'll want to keep it long and will treat it with a lot of respect.
I see Spider being super protective over it, not letting Quaritch touch it at first. Quaritch keeps trying to pat his head or ruffle his hair, and Spider keeps fleeing from his touch. Then they get closer, Spider starts washing his hair more often, cause he has someone actually worrying about his hygiene, and eventually, Quaritch worms his way into that ritual, helping spider soak, scrub, rinse his hair, and that's when they really start bonding (not talking trauma bonds or the connection between father and son, like actual intimate, personal bonding). Quaritch would learn with Spider, learn different ways to style his sad, neglected locs, different ways to style his hair after he attempts to brush it out (which was mostly a failure), helps him grow it out when he eventually hacks it off. this is especially true when Quaritch realizes how deeply the neglect of Spider's hair affected him (cause to Spider, it was more than just hair, it was love and a connection, one he saw all his siblings, family, and people have. it was the one thing that 'made him na'vi', so to be neglected so horribly in that department it fucked him up), he puts twice the energy into it.
He becomes such a hair dad (grows his own out), he collects things (beads, rocks to make into beads, other hair fixtures) to braid into Spider's and his own hair, he carries whatever the na'vi equivalent of a hair tie on him at all times, and at least once a week he and his boy take a day to manage their hair. Spider prefers one long braid (he aches for a tswin/queue sue him), and Quaritch likes his braided, and they do it for each other. Quaritch brushes Spider's hair out for him almost every night, and Spider braids beads into his dad's hair. It's their thing, and only theirs; no matter how close Spider gets to anyone, no one is allowed to touch his hair like his dad does.
it heals something in spider, makes him feel whole.
~~~
feel free to ask any more questions, I have so much to add but can't quite get my thoughts out. I hope you enjoyed my response.

angrboda has such a gorgeous voice. i mean, the way she calls on jalla??? hello??? that's why in a modern AU i like to think her being a famous singer PLUS a painter. this barbie can do it all, you know! oh and atreus can be... since he's super athletic i'm stuck between an olympic gold medalist (representing norway because he's born there) or maybe in the NBA 🏀 because he's tall as fuck. also because i got reminded of the post-game interview with stephen curry and his daughter riley - so imagine atreus and little hela together and i'm soft 🥺 uwuuu
i always thought she freya and kratos had the most melodic voices in the game and i honestly wanna hear them sing a song together LOL they could be a band omggg i headcanon that angrboda would be a artist or fashion girlie and i realllly think she'd focus alot into the coquette/boho chic style the most and making people look angelic (i mean look at her shes a fairy princess) i also think her go-to hairstyle would be butterfly locs (or how laya's hair is rn which i love) and actually i didnt even think about it but atreus would probably be a sporty dude and i think the best part for him would be traveling the world 🥺 hel with him just makes him even more determined to win a game he cannot slack with his baby girl around 😂

One thing I hate is someone telling others how they can or can't create their characters. As a student of history lets go ahead and combat this "gatekeeping" of a hairstyle to a particular culture. Where did Dreadlocks or locs originate? Ancient Greece.. Crete to be exact. "Birthplace of the Minoan civilization, and in Thera (modern-day Santorini) show individuals with long braided hairstyles." Also some say in Ancient Egypt. There are depictions of Egyptians with long braided hairstyles, Mummies found with well preserved locs even in wigs. An easy search will tell you Ancient Egypt is largely considered a non-African culture. "Ancient Egyptian civilization was, in ways and to an extent usually not recognized, fundamentally African. The evidence of both language and culture reveals these African roots. The origins of Egyptian ethnicity lay in the areas south of Egypt". "Mainstream scholars reject the notion that Egypt was a white or black civilization; they maintain that applying modern notions of black or white races to ancient Egypt is anachronistic. In addition, scholars reject the notion, implicit in the notion of a black or white Egypt hypothesis, that Ancient Egypt was racially homogeneous; instead, skin color varied between the peoples of Lower Egypt, Upper Egypt, and Nubia, who in various eras rose to power in Ancient Egypt." Yes modern times shows that most examples we have are from Rastafarian's from Jamaica. There it is a religion and cultural practice not just a hairstyle. Jamaica is predominately black but not all Rastafarians are black. "The vast majority of Jamaicans are of Sub-Saharan African descent, with minorities of Europeans, East Indians, Chinese, Middle Eastern, and others of mixed ancestry.""Can only Jamaicans be Rastafarians? Everyone is a Rastafarian. The Rastafarian religion is not even the most popular religious affiliation on the island—it's actually a minority. According to the most recent census, less than one percent of the 2.7 million people living in Jamaica identify as Rastafarian." Many many cultures all over the world for centuries have worn locs. To claim it for only one culture is not right. "By culture: Locks have been worn for various reasons in each culture. Their use has also been raised in debates about cultural appropriation. Evidently, dreadlocks are seen in multiple cultures across the world."
"What's the difference between dreadlocks and locs? Major Differences A notable difference between locs and dreadlocks is that one is a hairstyle and the other is a lifestyle. Locs are cultivated, but dreadlocks aren't. Dreadlocks also often stem from Rastafarian beliefs, which use the style to separate believers from the rest of society."
"Today we see a worldwide trend of locs, which has sparked the debate on cultural appropriation, a term often misused. While it would be presumptuous to say that dreadlocks belong to one particular culture, as a quick research shows, it is certain that the cultural appropriation advocates respond in this way given the many times that hairstyles typically worn by African-Americans are seen “unprofessional” or “dirty” on them but are considered “cool” on others, whether it is worn as a political statement, due to spiritual conviction or simply as a fashion statement. If you have dreadlocks or are considering trying out this way of wearing your hair, the best thing you can do is know the reason why you are wearing them, so that the day someone asks you why you have them, you can say what they mean to you."
Something tells me you won't look at the facts even with quoting and not leaving you to do the research by yourself. So this isnt for you. This is for everyone you made upset over their character hair choices. https: //en. wikipedia.org/ wiki/Dreadlocks https: //theculturetrip.com/ europe/greece /articles/ does-the-origin-of-dreadlocks-stem-from-ancient-greece/ https: //en.wikipedia. org/wiki/ Ancient_Egyptian_ race_controversy

Unlocking the Beauty of Brazilian Human Hair and Crochet Hairstyles: Butterfly Locs and Faux Locs
When it comes to achieving stunning, versatile, and natural-looking hairstyles, the quality of hair and the technique you use are paramount. If you're looking to turn heads and embrace the latest trends, consider Brazilian Human Hair, Butterfly Locs Crochet, and Faux Locs Crochet Hair. In this blog post, we'll dive into these three exciting elements of hair fashion and guide you on how to rock them with confidence.
Brazilian Human Hair: The Essence of Luxurious Locks
Brazilian Human Hair is celebrated for its luscious quality and natural appearance. The key to its allure lies in its origin. Brazilian hair is sourced from donors in Brazil, and it's known for its softness, thickness, and its ability to blend seamlessly with various hair types. The hair is untreated, ensuring that you can style it as you desire – from straight to curly and everything in between.
One of the standout features of Brazilian Human Hair is its durability. With proper care, it can last for a significant period, making it a valuable investment for those looking for long-term beauty. This type of hair is often available in various textures, such as body wave, deep wave, and straight, allowing you to achieve different looks effortlessly.
Whether you're looking to add volume, length, or simply enhance your overall appearance, Brazilian Human Hair can help you achieve the hair of your dreams.
Butterfly Locs Crochet: A Trendsetting Twist
Butterfly Locs Crochet is a unique and trendy hairstyle that combines the beauty of butterfly locs with the convenience of crochet braids. This style features thin, wispy locs that are created by wrapping and looping hair extensions around your natural hair. The result is a stunning, bohemian look with a playful and airy feel.
What sets Butterfly Locs Crochet apart is the minimal stress it places on your natural hair. The crochet technique ensures that your hair is protected while you enjoy the benefits of a full, luxurious hairstyle. It's a perfect option for those looking to experiment with a different look without the commitment of permanent locs.
The versatility of this style allows you to add accessories, beads, or color to match your unique personality and preferences. You can keep it natural and earthy or go bold with vibrant accents – the choice is yours!
Faux Locs Crochet Hair: A Marvel of Creativity
Faux Locs Crochet Hair is a popular choice for those who desire the look of traditional dreadlocks without the long-term commitment. These locs are created by crocheting extensions into your natural hair, giving you a similar appearance to real dreadlocks. The main advantage is that Faux Locs Crochet Hair is versatile, adjustable, and much faster to install compared to traditional locs.
Faux Locs offer endless possibilities for styling. You can wear them long or short, and you have the freedom to experiment with different colors and textures. Whether you prefer thin or thick locs, or even a combination of both, you can achieve the look that best suits your style.
Additionally, the lightweight nature of crochet locs reduces tension on your scalp and prevents hair breakage. This makes them a fantastic protective style that promotes healthy hair growth.
In conclusion, Brazilian Human Hair, Butterfly Locs Crochet, and Faux Locs Crochet Hair are three elements that can help you achieve your dream hairstyle. When combined, these components unlock a world of versatility, creativity, and natural beauty. Whether you're looking for a new look for a special occasion or considering a long-term style change, these options offer both convenience and elegance. So, go ahead, explore your options, and embrace the beauty of Brazilian hair and crochet hairstyles today!

ive been a lot happier making art since i stopped doing character art.
i was focused on making interesting ocs and their stories and drawing them to keep up with what everyone else was doing. i had one oc i focused on most strongly, and everyone else within the story was an afterthought to fill out the backstory. i still really love the character, dont get it wrong, but i realized over the development process that my favorite parts werent designing and drawing the character; it was the worldbuilding behind it:
speculative biology for nonhuman sentient organisms
language with no basis in existing languages (i developed my first conlang solely for this one character!)
environmental influences on a society's culture
linguistic and cultural barriers upon migration to a new world
practicality and structure of clothing and tools (i feel it reasonable to believe that all the clothes i designed would be easily sewn in real life) (also hair!! many of the hairstyles i designed could theoretically be done irl, provided the wearer had horns)
music and instruments and the arts culture within a society
it got to the point where i would look at the character and there would be so much going on, and yet very little in terms of a present-day storyline. ive since realised this character was just a vessel for all my other interests: linguistics, anthropology, biology, music, and physical crafts.
and i didnt even realize those were things i was that interested in! i knew i liked music, and i was on my way to a second language, but the technical linguistics really came out of nowhere (the biology was a huge surprise, given my apathy when learning it in school).
i havent touched the character in a long time. but im happy leaving their story where its at. they live out their life until they get bored, and then move on to something else, and so on. life goes on.
i got a little bit off-topic with this post. anyway. when i joined the art side of the internet, much of it was dedicated to character design and story. everyone was making intricate universes with overarching stories and detailed characters and relationships and developments; and rather than write books, they shared concept art in the form of comics, scene drawings, and character reference pages. i very rarely saw more traditional art: paintings of just. people and things. nothing exists past the piece. its nobody specific. because of this environment, somewhere in my head it was established that this is what art is these days, and to be an artist online youre expected to do character-based pieces.
so i forced myself into it. its what all my friends were doing, after all. social psychology says that you are your friends. they were all making fanart and of course, character-based pieces with extensive stories behind them. and i just couldnt figure it out. i thought there was some kind of social disconnect--wouldnt be the first time, as i seem to be the only one in my group who really doesnt enjoy playing any videogames aside from minecraft. i tried my best, and really enjoyed the process of building up my character and their backstory and homeland and culture and anatomy and dear god ive strayed away from the character themself. it never was about the character. it was about the messages i was trying to convey. everything that overshadowed the character was everything that was more important. i dont care if the design is too busy--look at all the ways a person could wear chains as jewelry!
i see the details in everything, and especially people. human bodies. nonhuman bodies. clothes and jewelry and hair and everything else. this made drawing very difficult. i wanted to detail every part of it. it became a too-realistic cartoon. i drew the seams in the clothes and the twists in the locs. i had to stop myself from drawing lines in the face. there are lines everywhere and once you notice them its impossible to ignore them. the one time i included lines and creases in the face (not nearly as many as i wanted to, but the minimum required to convey the expression and emotion), my friends said it looked weird. unfortunately cartoons and anime and character illustration have simplified designs, and every character is either young and smooth and beautiful or theyre old and wizened and wrinkled and never beautiful and often played for laughs or when the protagonist needs a mentor figure. for a person grappling with their own identity and physical existence, seeing these sentiments expressed so prominently is. difficult. people have a lot to them and its busy and not traditionally beautiful and complex and thats what makes them interesting beings.
character art is almost always digital in its final form. so that was my medium. i got by with the lineart-colorblock-shading-background setup that much of that kind of art shares. i began using a crayon-style brush for my lineart. i was always searching for a way to do a realistic oil paint style with my coloring and shading. i never found the perfect brush, so my art never turned out exactly how i was dreaming.
i thought i hated art classes. i thought i hated art classes. i thought i hated art classes. i was so trapped in the character-art funnel that nothing was to my standards and every project was shit.
i took two art classes this year to fill credits, one focusing on 2d art and the other on ceramics. neither was digital. neither was about characters.
in my pieces, i want to explore abstract ideas. i could just make a candle lantern with a cool design carved into it; or i could explore themes of what it means to be human. there is not a single character aside from vague representations of human beings. im in love.
for my 2d class, we're expected to keep a sketchbook. any art, so long as it's art. too many times ive filled a page with a drawing of a person. nothing exists past the piece. its nobody specific. and their faces are covered in lines. everywhere. eye bags, crow's feet, lines around the mouth and nose and chin, forehead wrinkles. necks.
they are people aging and they are beautiful. they are young people with decades under their belts and they are beautiful. they are people of every age and every life and they have existed physically enough for their bodies to recognize their physical habits. a testament to their living.
they are not smiling. but they have the crow's feet and the lines around the mouth and nose and chin and you know they have laughed many times before. they have lines between their brows and you know theyve felt worried about maybe one too many things. they have wrinkles on their foreheads and you know theyve felt surprise. everything is surprising. and interesting. and awe-inspiring. and beautiful.
we age and we change. this is a story everyone knows. people are often afraid, but then years later, theyre happier than theyve ever been. and they know it will only get better with time.

Use an elastic band at the end to keep the braids from unraveling. Add in some Flaxseed Gel Edge Control to really define those parts and either use cornrows or flat twists (flat twists are just cornrows but with two-strand twists instead of the three-strand braid) to braid the hair to the crown of the head. You can opt for all braids in the front or try braids in the front and back. Now that her hair is clean, detangled, and ready to style, start by parting the hair. Step 2: Hydrating Ice Cream™ Treatment Deep Conditioner Our AvoKiwi 4C 4-Step Recipe comes with the following products made specially to style and care for 4C type hair: If your little girl has 4C hair this hairstyle is the perfect way to protect their hair but still leave some out to show off to the world! It doesn’t matter what natural hair type you are, the braided updo will come out looking perfect for all. This one is an absolute favorite for me! I do this simple hairstyle on my cousins’ hair all the time and sometimes will even do it for myself. That will give your little one the extra style they need to really stand out and shine like the bright star they are. To top of the hairstyle add in some clamps, shells, or beads. Add another elastic band to the end and repeat until all six are finished. Start by adding a small elastic band at the root of the head, then braid the hair using three strands. Make sure each section is fully detangled, then add in some twisting paste. To keep it super simple, part the hair into six sections. This twisting paste will help the hairstyle look cleaner without that crunchy feeling that most products have. To replicate this style make sure you have your Hydrating Twisting Paste on hand. This faux locs style is cute and easy to replicate and they last the test of time. It also will allow for less hair breakage. With our special detangling brush, you’ll be able to brush through any hair type without ruining their natural curl pattern. The Hydrating Leave-In Conditioner paired with our Detangling Brush is the perfect way to get your little girl’s hair soft and ready to detangle.
