the City setting in Project Moon's works is great because it starts you off with a bunch of fantastical monsters and then it goes surprise! it was all science fiction this whole time! and gives you fucked up scifi explanations for all of it (specifically referring to abnormalities being drawn from the collective human subconscious here instead of actually coming from the places their observation logs say they do) and then it's just like haha we've tricked you again there are actual vampires in the city. the dark forest with the apocalypse bird trio is a real place. the healing technology is nanobots? wrong! it's actually tears we got from this giant crying eyeball. how did that eyeball come into existence? some guy wished upon a star. with the AI Ethics Amendment and the thing about all non-humans being banished to the Outskirts I mistakenly drew the conclusion that "non-humans" just meant "artificial intelligence" but nah they straight up got gnomes out there. also airplanes don't exist

Sorry I’m not posting as much as I used to 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲 new year jumpscared me with health issues again

I’m surprised not many people go into depth as to Angela’s original EGO, but I find it very fascinating.

Angela’s EGO is the exact same as the Plague Doctor’s. Which, in of itself, is obvious when comparing the two side by side. However, what not many people notice is the lack there-of in Angela’s version. This implies that the EGO she wears is a basic copy of Carmen’s (since it is literally the foundation Angela’s psyche), who is the most likely origin of the Abnormality Plague Doctor/Whitenight despite not appearing on the Keter floor.

Yet despite this, it shows up on Hokma’s floor. It could be because of its classification and floor category, but there has also been speculation that Ayin or Benjamin could be the source as well. After all, Carmen may be the influence but Ayin and Benjamin were the ones that resulted in its fruition. Adam, one of Ayin’s resulted personalities, contextualizes this in his “prophet-like” attire and beliefs. Benjamin, on the other hand, was a follower and was willing to do whatever it took to no only realize Carmen’s (and later Ayin’s) dream, but to also stop it as well when he found out how far he was willing to sacrifice himself to do so. This sudden transition from construction to destruction with the focus of saving another can also lead to the result of PD/WN.

Of course this becomes even more complicated when you throw One-Sin into this.

It wouldn’t surprise me if there was actually a third that correlated with the two abnormalities. Considering many holy things come in threes.

I don’t know. It’s stuff like this that makes me love the world Project Moon made.

Carmen projectmoon is a great character because they went “yeah she's just the dead wife character sorry :( FUCK YOU JUST KIDDING SHE HAUNTS THE NARRATIVE” and then she haunted the narrative so hard she caused fundamental changes to the entire setting and affected literally everyone in the world of the story and she’s still haunting the narrative to this day, even after the game that was about her haunting the narrative. most recently they made her a narrator (probably) and [uh hi future bluejay here, what was originally here might not have been true but since this post was made she's done even more]. she died before the first entry of the series

citys favorite woman

i always love talking about roland and ayin as parallels to each other, especially in the ways they're different. some of these ways are, imo, Extremely Fucking Funny.

the thing with ayin is that at the very least, he was doing what carmen asked him to do. granted, his cruelty with angela wasn't necessarily something carmen foresaw. and on top of that, ayin's insistence that he be the one to help the sephirot through the trauma he caused them (despite angela's attempts being completely successful to the point of prompting a restart) added an almost unnecessary amount of time to the entire process. but at his core, he did these things because she asked him to in the event either something happened to her or if she otherwise started backing out. it can be argued that this is a layer of conflict for him, especially when the sephirot had a similar devotion for her.

roland, however, doesn't have even that going for him. in fact, his wife quite literally saw roland's reaction to her hypothetical death coming and even had a conversation before she died. like... "hey, so if anything happens to me, please don't go insane and start a killing rampage to destroy innocent people. please just try to move on and live your life." and like... roland remembers this conversation. he just kind of completely disregards her wishes and does the exact thing she knew he was at risk of doing. he's just like "mmm, nah, and also i'm gonna do all of this specifically in/with your name."

like. if you're out here doing something worse than how ayin of all people did it, i'm sorry but that's objectively just hilarious. roland is one of the most unfortunately comedic characters for me. there's just no redeeming his actions whatsoever and he's out here judging hokma because he thinks hokma's nuanced take on ayin is unacceptable. like... even argalia is fighting for something with a tangible goal in mind. i love this absolute mess of a failure.
