i want an episode of doctor who where someone important to the doctor dies and all the pain and heartbreak of all their lives piles up and they get so broken and so full of hate that this keeps happening and why can’t they just be happy and why is the universe so cruel that they turn evil and then while out and about being evil and not giving a fuck about saving people they run into the master and the master is shook that the doctor has changed bc how? that’s impossible the doctor and the master are opposing forces! it’s their whole dynamic now everything’s out of balance! and so they make it their mission to show the doctor how much good there is in the universe and the doctor is cold and harsh and vulnerable and heartbroken but the master whisks the both of them off on an adventure to demonstrate all the brilliant wonderful extraordinary happy parts of the universe but what finally gets through to the doctor is that it’s the master showing them all this. they’re so far gone that the master is trying to fix them. and they realise that the both of them have more in common than they think and that they can see it from each other’s perspectives. and then they kiss

ok so what if at the end of hamlet hamlet didn't die. he was maimed and disfigured in the fight, but survived. and he was then sentenced to death for the high treason of attempting to kill the king. but because he was the prince and gertrude still loved him had his sentence commuted to exile. sent off away far from anything he'd ever known. reputation destroyed. also let's say in this version horatio died instead. maybe trying to defend hamlet. so hamlet is guilty as well as grief stricken and bereaved and all alone with no one who believes in him or knows him or cares about him.
also let's say ophelia didn't die either but wandered off crazily into the countryside and got lost and was taken in by kindly villagers who were like awww she's sweet. we will look after her. she's always sticking queen anne's lace in her hair so we will call her annie. also. oh god. it looks like she's pregnant. that's really sad. who could have done this to a poor mindless innocent.
you'd keep reading at that point, right? you'd want to know what happened next in the story?
ok well what happens next is someone builds hamlet a mecha arm cannon to replace the right hand he lost in the fight and he goes around the countryside dressed all in black brooding and killing evildoers and he gets an obnoxious child sidekick and also a little blue haired flying pixie thing that rides around in his pocket and narrates all the action. then the spanish inquisition arrives led by a fourteen year old girl who's visibly horny for torture. we occasionally cut to ophelia making daisy chains and drooling and it's a blessed fucking relief because the pixie thing isn't there. btw she had a miscarriage
that's what fucking happened to berserk after the "golden age arc"

...
"This is probably a long-range situation," Wild said, looking down at the massive monster camp at the bottom of the hill. Twilight stood next to him, running through strategies in his head. "Getting in there first thing would be dangerous."
'Glad to see you're learning caution,' Warriors shot back, hands flying. 'I agree. Surround them and shoot them.'
"Does everyone have a bow?" Sky asked, glancing around.
Everyone pulled out a bow at that, some long and some short. Four had one shorter than short, but it didn't look any less deadly than Time's big one. Wild's was colorful. Hyrule didn't have a bow, but he did hold up a sparking hand. He'd shoot lightning at Legend's signals, which had always worked very well in the past.
Twilight was definitely the odd one out. He smiled a little as he dug into his shoulder bag, looking for his own bow.
Sky winced when he noticed Twilight had yet to pull something out. "Oh, I'm sorry, Twilight, I didn't even think... Do you have something different?"
"Nah, it's a bow," Twilight said. That was technically the truth. He opened his bag a little further, the weapons were evading him.
Legend squinted. "Are you sure it's a bow? You can't shoot with only one hand."
"Watch me." Twilight grinned in triumph when he found what he was looking for. He hauled out his heavy-duty crossbow, the one with the stirrup on the end so he could pull it back with his foot.
Four stared with wide eyes. "That's the coolest crossbow I've ever seen."
"Betcha I do more damage with this than you do with yours."
"You're on," Wind said immediately. "Sixteen rupees."
Time hummed mildly. "Coincidentally, that's exactly how many are missing from my wallet."
"Aha, really? What a crazy, random happenstance."

Bad Batch and Mandalorian literally should have just been about Boba Fett.
I mean....orphaned "son" of the bounty hunter donor picked up by deviant veteran clones who never fit into the roles they were assigned after drifting alone through who knows what kinds of criminal underbellies?
Then after awhile as an established bounty hunter he stumbles into the remaining factions and artifacts of his father's culture and works to reclaim his heritage while navigating fatherhood himself?

after seeing cocaine bear i can finally articulate why i was So annoyed with the bear scene in s1 of yellowjackets. survival horror is like my favourite genre and you're telling me one of thee biggest coolest most unfuckwithable threats the natural world has to offer gets taken down by a teenager with Ambiguous Disorder sorry ambiguous supernatural powers. bc god forbid we treat mental illness as a serious subject when we can mystify it at the expense of actual tension instead.
