‘i brought you some medicine for your cold.’ @little-tyrant-gortash
@little-tyrant-gortash
Draken sniffed a little as Enver appeared, a slight grumble following when he mentioned that he had brought them some medicine. Getting sick wasn't something they were all that used to and so, it had completely wiped them out. Luckily for them, Enver just happened to be the best person to look after them. "What is it?" They asked, curious as to what concoctions the other may have that could make them well again.

"...what??" || @little-tyrant-gortash
@little-tyrant-gortash
It had been as much of a shock to her as it now was to him. Wanda hadn't been entirely sure, despite a few of the symptoms having already shown up. She had consulted with one of the doctors in private and they had been the one to confirm that she was indeed pregnant. As soon as she had the confirmation, she had rushed to Gortash, a mix of emotions running through her.
"We're with child," she repeated, her hands fidgeting with her dress sleeves. "Are you... are you not excited? What are your thoughts?"

"...what?" / continued from here / @little-tyrant-gortash
Rosalind chewed at her bottom lip, her teeth clinking lightly against her golden lip rings. His reaction wasn't the worst in the world, it could have been way worse, he could have been losing his temper or worse; kicking her out. She cleared her throat, feeling her stomach curl with anxiety. "I wasn't exactly ready to be a mother but-" She inhales slowly, trying to calm the feeling that clutched at her chest like an ogre, "I am open to the idea of it, if you are. I won't make you do anything you don't wish though-" Her voice trailed off, feeling almost embarrassed as she looked down at her own trembling hands.

No but in the same conversation dead Dravo calls Enver foolish first, then clever second.
It's also interesting he mentions needy between foolish and wicked, as if a "needy" child is a bad thing. Enver was, and is, clearly gifted, and he needed special attention and special care. He just needed acceptance and love, which is really clear when you talk to his parents in general.
These things about him really resonate with me because as a child I was called both foolish and clever - I have ADHD, but I wasn't diagnosed until recently, and I'm past the third X. I suffered a lot because my family and the teachers didn't understand me. They couldn't understand how could I be so brilliant at some subjects but utterly fail at others. "You're not stupid, just lazy", they used to tell me.
I had a theory that Enver also is, at least, on the ADHD spectrum. He shows the signs I recognise in myself, the hyperfocus on things that particularly interest him, learning everything about a subject - haha look at my fucking blog -, having ideas and being overly creative. Being busy and so absorbed in his work that he visibly can't even sleep. I mean. I know those bloodshot eyes because they stare right back at me every fucking morning because I'm hyperfocusing on the game he is in and on the fic I'm writing with him...
And guess what parents usually do to an ADHD child? They punish them. They punish them because the child is simply UNABLE to focus on things that are deemed "important" by their parents, because they're so absorbed in their own world - Enver was born in a family that made shoes, but he was so much more interested in something else entirely. "Clever boy... always... tinkering." He wasn't living up to his father's expectations - he was a burden, a dead end, an extra mouth to feed when they were neck deep in debt, it was so much easier to get rid of him.
Gods fucking damnit. He just wanted to be loved and accepted the way he is, just as I did in my entire life.

What do you think Gortash’s relationship with Bane is like? Do they converse often and how? How loyal and willing is Gortash’s service to him?
Hmm honestly I could see it going either way. I've seen some excellent ideas suggest that Bane is simply a means to an end for Gortash as he's planning on becoming akin to a god himself. But personally, I am a sucker for religious trauma so I like to believe they're actually pretty close.
Bane saw how resilient and brilliant young Gortash was, how there was much potential in him should he be allowed to flourish. So, true to his manipulative tactics, he sent Banists into the House of Hope to treat him with kindness and gain his trust. Ironically, they'd be the only ones who didn't treat him like dirt but rather taught the gospel of Bane to him and, when he was intent to listen, would sneak him a gift or potion of healing.
Gortash was so interested, even from the beginning. His parents hadn't been too religious so he hadn't been taught much of anything on the subject, but Bane's gospel aligned so much with his own world views. So, he learned to trust those with the Mask, seek them out even, thirsty for knowledge. And seeing how perceptive he was to his ideas, Bane probably came to him for the first time in a dream and instructed him on what to do in order to escape the House. It worked, obviously, so Gortash in a way felt obligated to devote himself to him. Every act of cruelty he carried on from then on was done in Bane's name and it didn't take long for him to be donned the title of Chosen.
I think their relationship would be interesting because they really are working for the exact same goals. All Gortash wants is to have peace and safety of mind in the city (and by extention, all of Faerun), something which can only be accomplished by a strict authoritative hand; so what if said hand is painted black, in the name of his god? They both crave power and the ultimate control, Gortash seeing it as a means for the greater good.
I don't think they'd converse too often tbh, Gortash is super good at his job and Bane provides the powers he needs freely. The closest he'd feel to him would be the times he's at the Temple, delivering sermons, conducting punishments and sacrifices. If they do need to speak, Bane visits him in dream and if he ever fucks up, Bane sends him nightmares, mostly consisting of being trapped back in the HoH.
The only time Gortash has truly felt he's fucked up is when he realises his feelings for Durge, which he's certain Bane will disapprove of because Bhaal's wishes will need to be fulfilled from Durge's hand and they go directly against what Bane wants. I have a fic about his self-punishment for this very idea if you haven't checked it out already lol.
(also slightly unrelated but I fucking adore those Bane x Gortash fics/artwork, if anyone has any links pls send em my way)

Once Durge returns to Gortash, he invites them to dinner. Of course he remembers what their favourite meal is, and will order the servants to make as much as their old friend desires.
But one of two responses can happen.
Firstly, Durge falls right back into their old self. They haven’t had this meal ever since breaking their way out of their pod on the nautiloid. They eat fast, maybe even messily, because they really can’t get such delicious food down fast enough.
Gortash doesn’t eat, but instead simply watches. There’s a small smile on his face.
His nearest and dearest truly has returned to him.
or
Durge frowns at the plate as it’s placed in front of them.
What is that?
They decide to at least try some of it, because what’s the harm in that? Their face scrunches up as soon as the food hits their tongue.
Too spicy, too bitter, too sour!
Who could ever eat something like this?!
Maybe they gag or politely spit the food out, but either way, Gortash is watching them the entire time.
There is a slight frown on his face that even he cannot control. He swallows the lump that has formed in his throat.
His dear friend has changed.
The Bhaalspawn that sits before him is not the one he made all those plans with. This Bhaalspawn is not the person he promised to share his power with.
They have changed and he has not.
Gortash gives a polite smile and asks what meal they would prefer instead. The response is something that the person he knew would never ask for.
They will get their new preferred meal, and Gortash will have no choice but to push on. It’s still them, right?
There must be something in them that still resonates with the goals and desires they once bonded over. Gortash knows they can still be a wonderful ally, he just needs to stop falling into the old habits they shared before.
He cannot lose them a second time.

pure panic / continued from here / @little-tyrant-gortash
"Darling-" Rosalind said softly, cupping his cheek gently, "We need to get you to safety, to a healer-" She didn't like the look of the dagger that was currently embedded in him, it made her blood run cold. She inhaled slowly, looking up to his face before leaning up to press a kiss to his cheek lightly. "Let me take care of you, I'll make sure no one else hurts you my love." Her voice is firm, but the tone is as sweet as sugar. She isn't a cleric, or a medic by any means but she knows her way around a healing spell, "I can get you stable if we can get privacy for a moment."

Which Type of Love Interest Would You Be in a Dating Game?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The sweetheart with an enigmatic dark past
You're always polite and kind with others. That makes people feel comfortable around you and many would consider you a close friend. However, you seldom feel connected with those around you. You feel like they don't know you, the real you, and they never will because you'll never allow them. It takes a great amount of time and trust for you to show yourself as you truly are, because you repress most of your feelings and desires, and mask them with a calm and collected personalty. It just seems easier that way, safer. But remember that if you bottle everything up, it will explode one day, maybe in ways you aren't proud of.

First of all: I'd love to have his pretty crossbow. Reminds me of the glass crossbow you can get in Skyrim through CC.
Secondly, 14 STR??? If Astarion looks like the way he does with 8, I really want to see that 14 STR. Y'know. For science.
Tumblr media
His stats are simply insane. What the fuck, Gortash.
*spends 5 minutes rotating him around, purely to admire him*
Okay let's take a look at his features. I missed out on it when I first met him because I was busy running for Cazador's ass. 🤣

Resistant to magic AND high spellcasting? 👀 Permanently armed?? Unarmed attacks seem logical, but crossbow expert??? 👀
He's a fucking prize.

I have talk about what a failure Cazador is after killing Gortash again and reading every note in his office
Cazador isn't mentioned at ALL. The tyrant of the City didn't bother to send an invitation or put Cazador on any list of notable nobles. Heck. Lady Jannath made several lists, but not Cazador.
Nobody in the Gate gives a shit about Cazador. And that's beautiful.
Cazador was truly stuck in his pathetic excuse of a castle, torturing people, believing that he was much bigger than he actually was, believing that he was this powerful god who could become even MORE powerful. In truth, he was just a scared pathetic little man who never amounted to anything (sound familiar?). And not a single noble/person in power in the Gate actually cared about him or his power lol.
I repeat, Lady Jannath canonically is more powerful and influential in the city than Cazador. That's actually amazing.

everyone always talks about how much durge hated admitting he was in love — or at least respected and admired — enver gortash, but what about gortash?
enver gortash is a man who never once experienced true, unencumbered affection. affection, lust, love — these are all tools for the tyrants hand to use to create a perfect order, a single ruler who would dominate faerûn with an ironclad fist.
gortash, even from when he was young, would never admit to liking anyone. his parents, poor and unfortunate, called him an ungrateful, willing thing, selling him to the hells for a pittance just to never see his demanding face again. the hells, an unforgiving place with an even more unforgiving master, hardened his soul and taught him the most important lesson of all — power is all that matters.
not affection, not lust, and certainly not love.
yet, he grows close to the child of his master’s greatest rival. he knows in his soul that to rule — to truly have power — one must never lighten their grip on anything, and so he uses that closeness — that growing affection he denies — to tighten his tyrants hand around that bhaalspawn’s neck.
but enver gortash, like all his predecessors who wanted everything the world had to offer, was only mortal. a mortal man who was ever so lonely at the top of the world, looking down at the subjugation he brought. so he plays the long con, denying that what he is feeling is anymore than habitual fondness, that the murderous presents his leashed dog brings him don’t warm his heart and that he doesn’t relish in the soft expression of surprise that ravenous beast makes when he doesn’t run away. he is the master of manipulation here, he knows he has the bhaalspawn tightly woven around his finger, he knows he is ruining them.
but just as he had declawed, defanged, and destroyed the child of bhaal, so had that beautiful monster softened his tyrants black hand and made gortash want to rule together.
how humiliating for little enver gortash, to realize how little he had actually grown from that small starved child in the slums longing for a friend. and how utterly tragic that it is his undoing no matter what choices the player makes in this game.
