what kind of aesthetic does time wave!yeonjun have?

what is the base of looks for time wave!yeonjun?

lissie: it was actually supposed to be based on cysm!yeonjun and/or blue hour!yeonjun but then freeze era came out and looking at yeonjun’s photos and whole aesthetic for it, my mind immediately decide “yep, he’s the one”. so he is based on freeze ‘boy’ concept!yeonjun, 0x1=lovesong!yeonjun, fight or escape ‘fight’ concept!yeonjun, and lo$er=lo♡er!yeonjun

why ‘grunge kid’?

lissie: time wave!yeonjun’s aesthetic is grunge and there is no single word to define someone who likes grunge so i use grunge kid. “grunge guy” and “grunge boy” is also the candidates but i just like ‘grunge kid’ better.

what kind of grunge does time wave!yeonjun side to? modern grunge or 90’s grunge?

lissie: definitely towards the 90’s seattle grunge vibes more. modern grunge is too expressive for him in my opinion especially with the dark stripy clothes while this yeonjun is more like baggy, ripped, ‘grungy’ clothes. you can ask time wave!yeonjun if you want. eg notable 90’s seattle grunge men that time wave!yeonjun adores:

why ‘grunge’? why not ‘punk’, ‘goth’, or ‘emo’?

lissie: grunge kid!yeonjun used to be punk!yeonjun (or modern grunge, you got the point) both in my character design and in the story itself. i’m gonna make this easier with writing key things of each aesthetic (based of my opinion. there is also a link to aesthetic wiki).

punk: rebellion, rejection of norms, anarchy, loud, eccentric

goth: thick black eyeshadow makeup, everything is black and white, dark, mysterious

emo: emotional, expressive, thick eyeliner, hairs with long bangs

grunge (90’s): anti-mainstream, earthly, don’t care about fashion as long as wearable, defying norms but not 100% against it

so in canon, yeonjun and soobin used to be punks but when soobin disappeared, yeonjun’s rebelious phase came to an end and he just starts to embrace his ‘you only live once yet want to be lazy’ mode.
