1. I love this callback.

2. There was some Latin in the show and I wondered what they translated to, so I got these. There was a bit more on the walls but I didn’t bother with those 😅. But I do love the usage of Latin to up the ante on the mystery and creepy factor.

3. It was so funny when Jack just could not get the thing to stay on the wall because it kept falling off and he just plopped the thing on the ledge in a last act of desperation 😂

Lech Lecha is about the beginning of Abram’s (later Abraham’s) journey out to a place that he will be shown by the Divine hand. It’s a story of choice, and of trust. But it’s also a story of leaving behind the only life one has ever known and going out to explore strange new worlds and seek out new life and new civilizations to encounter other neighboring cultures and have interesting and semi-comical adventures while trying to find a place of one’s own.

It’s an immigration story, in a way. And that is how Liorn Kopinsky chooses to interpret it here. This is a song for all those who choose to make Aliyah. It acknowledges that moving to Israel can be a great and wonderful thing, but that it does mean leaving behind a familiar language and customs and local knowledge for a new country, where you might have to learn a new language and get used to living in a new place, a foreign country . . . because even as Israel is a homeland for the Jewish people, it really isn’t the homeland any more -- olim are coming home, in a sense. But, in another very real sense, olim are immigrants to a new, foreign place. And I love that there is a song that acknowledges that complicated idea of home and travel and belonging.

Imagine: there is a ball being held and Ford is invited because hey why not (also Stan wants to laugh at him for not being able to do traditional liorne dances) but then, shock horror Ford actually can dance! Turns out that fidds taught him how to dance back in college for fun/as a way to destress 'you've got too much pent up energy, let's help get rid of it' also Ford Def's dances with his nieces who excited because this is something else they can do with their uncle

Omg that’s so CUTE and WHOLESOME I LOVE IT.

Stan definitely low-key was counting on Ford fucking up during some of the dances, and is disappointed that Ford won’t be embarrassing himself at the ball. But Angie thinks it’s adorable that Fidds taught him to dance, and tells Stan that maybe they should try to set up Ford and Fidds.

The mental image of Ford dancing with his nieces is so perfect. The princesses aren’t the only ones excited about that. Ford is also excited. He struggles so much with spending time with them, since they don’t know much English yet, and he doesn’t know much Lironian. But he adores them because of course he does, and this is a grand way for him to spend some quality time with them.

(All of the McGuckets are like “awwwwww” when Ford starts dancing with the princesses. Even Stan has to admit that it’s pretty damn cute.)

i’m fond of sh*dowh*nters and love m*lec + individual characters but. on top of everything else, idk if i’ll be able to stomach them making s*zzy and maia/j*rdan canon just bc of the books even tho s*mon/maia was super good and they had amazing chemistry

s*zzy hasn’t had any development or even meaningful interactions after 1st season and even then they never had anything going on imo. the only ones izzy has had good chemistry w/were like m*liorn and charlie the doctor who they wrote out of the series so s*zzy can happen

like they could’ve really elevated the original material and deviated from the books but nah, let’s just follow cc’s visions and make maia forgive and then get back together w/her abuser lmao

i’ve mainly been watching for m*lec and maia/s*mon but now that half of that’s been thrown in the trash, idk if i should bother. especially when i find al*c annoying and it’s ridiculous that m*gnus keeps sacrificing everything for a pretty mediocre dude who like, goes thru his stuff out of jealousy and whatnot

#plus we can all admit the actual plot is garbage right?#like the characters’ stories and side plots + character interactions are good #but the main plot has been yawn since day once since yknow its cc’s #and the more they fuck up character plots for cc’s canon the worse it gets #plus jace and clary are unbearable #especially together #jace only has good scenes with simon otherwise whomst cares #txt
