if you don't mind us asking, what was the inspiration behind dragon liliko's design, and how would you feel about other people taking inspiration for their own big fluffy dragon designs?

You made us realize were pretty sure weve never actually posted anything of aer dragon form on tumblr so it feels a little silly answering this question to an audience unfamiliar with it…..guess we should remedy that and draw aer more, BUT anyways theres not really much to say except we like big fluffy dragons and the idea of a kangaroo-dragon wearing a witch hat was funny.

We can post these though (from late 2021, other fella in the first art is our gf’s)

the way helter skelter (the manga and 2012 movie adaptation) engages with the audience makes me sooo crazy. liliko lacks agency due to internal and external forces. she lacks agency because she is fictional and therefore cannot make her own choices, and she lacks agency in universe because she is not a character but a vessel for the narrative’s themes. her one dimensionality makes you acutely aware that she exists within a narrative, and makes you a voyeur and participant in her exploitation. the power liliko’s beauty affords her rings hollow because it is dependant on the audience’s perception of her. she is only valuable for as long as she remains an attractive product. liliko exists to be crushed under the weight of the narrative

16. Came Back Wrong

It’s a training day. The faceless shadows Master Deloscuro through Mizrah Atara. When he beckons by crooking a finger, they are there. When he hands his shopping lists to the merchants, they carry his baskets. When his bootlace unwinds in the middle of a crowded plaza, they fold to the ground clumsily to retie it.

“Correct, Pravde.”

The town militia watches them carefully. Shoppers give them a wide berth. Vendors tuck their cashboxes away. They can feel the stares. They don’t know why.

Master Deloscuro stops at a cafe for lunch. He eats slowly; he’s old, his hands shake sometimes. He spills soup down his chin. Pravde wipes it away. “Correct, Pravde.” He gives them a slice of bread. They hold it carefully until he tells them they’re allowed to eat. “Correct, Pravde.”

Later, Master Deloscuro meets with the employer of another of his patients. Pravde waits outside.

They are performing well. Master Deloscuro has not had to correct them once today. They glance through the window; Master is having a cup of tea with the employer. Pravde relaxes slightly and watches a pair of birds dip and twirl overhead.

The birds startle and vanish. There’s movement across the street. A lanky gargylen seems to detach from the stone wall.

“Pravde!”

Pravde does not know this gargylen. Is this part of training?

“Prav, it’s Smiley!” The gargylen looks both directions before running toward Pravde. “We thought you were dead! The guards hit you so hard, Prav, Liliko wouldn’t stop crying - why won’t you come home?”

Pravde has not been given permission to engage. They stay quiet.

“Prav, Lili and Bee miss you, please just tell them you’re okay-”

They have been performing well. They will not engage until Master Deloscuro tells them to.

The gargylen is crying. “Pravde, can you hear me? Why won’t you talk to me? Are you in trouble? Did we do something? Pravde!” The gargylen puts his hands on Pravde’s shoulders.

“Hey!” Master Deloscuro is at the door. The faceless stiffens. This gargylen is impeding their orders in front of him. “You there, hands off! We’ll call the guard!”

The gargylen bolts back to the alley. “Prav!” He screams.

Master Deloscuro looks Pravde over. “Are you hurt at all? Did the boy do anything to you, take anything?”

“We. Are not. Damaged.” Words are difficult, but Master looks satisfied.

“You were correct not to talk to him, Pravde. We’re done here; let’s go.”

Pravde follows the man away with the gargylen’s pleas ringing around the street.

Focus lang sa pag drive, always check the side mirrors pag liliko. 2 - 3 days kaya mo na mag drive sa highway ng walang kasama.

🛣️ While on the Road 🚗

Last Wednesday, we had a quick excursion or road trip with some of my former colleagues. We really had a fun time. 😊 I shared some personal stories, and I told them the things that happened to me these past few weeks. 🚗✨

We went to Rizal to try the key features of this adventure park. 🌳 We walked on the hanging bridge, the sky bicycle 🚲, and the sky tower. 🏞️ I felt the thrill and relaxation. 😌 Especially when our roles (Paul and I) were just passengers along the road. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️

So we had this conversation with Phia, we were discussing the usage of horns while driving. Phia told us that she was not accustomed to using the horns. It goes like this,

Phia: "Ako kasi hindi ako nagbubusina kapag nagmomotor eh". (I don't use horns when I ride the motorcycle). 🏍️

Me: "Hindi ka nagbubusina?" ("Are you not honking?") 📯

Me: interrupted the conversation by saying... "Paano yun? Sisigaw ka lang ng ... HOY!! DADAAN AKO!! PUCHA LILIKO AKO!!" ("How? You will shout ... "OIII!! CLEAR THE ROAD!! I WILL MAKE MY TURN!!") 🗣️🚗

We in the back portion of the car were laughing. We had so much fun. We concluded the day tired yet fulfilled. More adventures to come! 😄🚗🎉

Hindi matatawaran ang ganda ng kalikasan kapag ito ay na sa harap mo na. Para sa mga kaybigan, pamilya, at kamag-anak na nagplaplanong mag travel, kulayan na ang drawing! Ang salapi ay babalik, ngunit ang panahon ay patuloy pa rin sa pagtakabo. Kaya naman, ramdamin natin ang kasiyahan kasama ang kalikasan. Gamutin natin ang mga sugat mula sa mapapait na kaganapan gamit ang luntiang paligid. Hindi lang problema ang marami sa Pilipinas, kundi tourist destination din! Kaya naman, mag impake ka na at mag travel kasama ang mga mahal sa buhay!

Welcome sa tahanan ng mga bayani, Bataan! Isa ang Bataan sa mga lugar sa Pilipinas na mayaman sa mga likas na yaman. Dito rin naganap ang katapangan ng mga sundalong Pilipino at Amerikano sa panahon ng mga Hapon, ang death march. At ang tourist destination natin para sa araw na ito ay ang Orani Bataan. Kilala ang Orani sa naggagandahang resort nito at mala-paraisong kabundukan. Isa sa mga tourist spot dito ay ang Orani view deck. Ang view deck ay na sa taas na bahagi ng kabundukan ng Orani. Mula rito, makikita ang malawak na kapatagan, ang karagatan, at ang Metro Manila.

Ano pa nga ba ang matatagpuan sa Orani view deck? Bago pa man makarating sa view deck, madadaanan na ang iba't ibang klase ng pagkaing batangas, kapihan, at Private resort. Mula sa paanan palamang ng bundok, makakakita na ng mga nagtitinda ng bulalo, gotong batangas, at kapeng barako. Isa sa mga sikat na kainan sa Orani view deck ay ang Tala view deck Food. Ito ay matatagpuan bago ang main entrance papaakyat ng Orani view deck.

Mapupuntahan ang orani view deck gamit ang pribado at pampublikong sasakyan. Kung ikaw ay galing sa norte at may sariling sasakyan, babaybayin mo ang bayan ng Dinalupihan at Hermosa. Pagdating sa bayan ng Orani, hihinto at liliko ka sa barangay ng tala at derederetso hanggang marating ang Orani view deck. Kapag ikaw naman ay nanggaling mula timog, babaybayin mo ang mga bayan ng Mariveles, Limay, Orion, Pilar, Balanga, Abucay, at Samal. Parehas ng proseso, kapag nakarating sa bayan ng Orani, hihinto at liliko sa barangay tala. Kung ikaw naman ay naka pampublikong sasakyan lamang, ikaw ay baba sa kanto ng barangay tala; maaari kang sumakay ng motorsiklo hanggang sa entrance ng Orani view deck at maglalakad papuntang tuktok neto.

Tunay na walang kapalit ang nararamdamang saya kapag dumadampi na sa atin ang hangin ng kalikakasan. Ang saya kumuha ng mga litrato kapag nakikita ang luntiang kabundukan at asul na karagatan. Ang paglalakabay ay isa sa mga magbibigay saiyo ng lakas upang bumalik at muling lumaban sa bawat hamon ng buhay. Sa bawat paglalakabay, nabubuo ang hindi inaasahan na samahan, nangyayari ang mga imposible, at nabubuo ang mga relasyong watak-watak. Kaya naman, tayo ay maglakbay at damhin ang saya ng buhay, sapagkat ang oras ay kailnaman hindi na muling babalik pa.
