hi, beautiful! congrats on your 150! I wanted to request James Potter +Tangled on your
🪷 send me a character + one of the following movies to write a drabble for...
(English is definitely not my first language so I'm sorry if this isn't sp clear)
thank you, gorgeous! this was such a fun combo to start off with <3 also, your request was perfect, so don’t worry! (wc: 882)
Lush green turns yellow and purple at sunset, and you can’t get enough of it. It’s like the whole world is wrapped around you, cool and prickly and real and right beneath your fingertips.
The stream is smooth and lazy, shining an image of the pink sky back at your hung head. You focus on that instead of the mounting fear of spending your first night outside the tower.
Under the intensity of the setting sun, the foliage around your camp takes on matching shadows. The contrast is scary, but it’s also beautiful, something you’d love to paint if you had your supplies.
That’s a dangerous path of thought, one that you shut down immediately. Even brushing against the idea of paint makes your insides wither with dread, reminded of your poor mother who’d gone to get you more—your mother who’s likely worried sick about you now.
“Alright?”
Lifting from your mopey posture, you find your companion returning with a sizable collection of firewood.
James seems to be in good spirits, all things considered. He’s been nice enough, though you can admit you’d worried that the guard-chase and near drowning might sour his attitude.
“I’m great,” you reassure him, plastering a smile on your face. Now’s not the time to show any weakness, no matter how frightened you might be.
Returning with a grimace, James dumps his armful where he stands and approaches you.
“Y’know, it’s not too late to go home.”
James has been saying this at every juncture of your adventure, desperate to dump you back at your tower and be rid of you. There’s no reason for that to sting now, after everything.
“Uh-uh. If you want me gone, you’ll have to try harder than that.”
With a frown, he settles in next to you, watching the horizon hesitantly.
“As if,” he says, though he’s lacking any real quip. “No, I just uh…I know all this wasn’t what you had in mind when you set out with me.”
You fiddle with a strand of hair. He’s really asking, you realize. With a puff of nervous laughter, you shake his sobriety off.
“Well, I didn’t really have anything in mind. Tall tower, remember?”
“Yeah,” James scoffs, “yeah, a pretty safe tower, too. And spacious.”
“And lonely,” you add.
Sighing, he nods his reluctant agreement.
“True, but there are worse things out there than being lonely, sweetheart. Things that might really hurt you.”
You take that in, staring at James with an odd curiosity. His shoulders are hunched around his ears, his hair flopping untamed into his eyes—courtesy of the unplanned swim you both took. It’s like looking at a completely different person, seeing James without his criminal bravado. Seeing him…unsure.
“James Potter, are you…are you worried about me?”
He straightens immediately, and while you mourn the loss of the gooey center you caught a glimpse of, you like to see him squirm, too.
“Wha-hat? Please. No, I'm trying to get away from you, and if you die you might be able to haunt me. I’m taking preliminary steps to prevent that.”
“Right,” you snip back sarcastically, “haunting.”
You might be sheltered, but you’re old enough now to know that ghosts aren’t real. James seems to see this in your expression, so he stands petulantly and stalks back towards his pile of sticks.
“Whatever, I’m not talking afterlife with a girl whose hair glows.”
Laughing, you watch him go, now truly missing his window of sincerity. For a sudden moment you almost feel it’s worse to be lonely outside of your tower than in it, and it sends a crack of fear down your center all over again.
Gathering some of your hair in your arms, you hold it to you like a stuffed toy, searching for any comfort you can find.
“James?”
“What now, trouble?”
Worrying your lip, you begin to second guess yourself, but an impatient glance from James encourages you.
“Do you really think I’d be better off going back?”
This takes his attention again, his hands ceasing their fire-building. Over the small pit he’d assembled, he considers you, jaw working.
You know what he’ll say, your frame braced for his resounding yes. You’re not sure why the thought carves your chest open when he’s never been anything but against this agreement. You wanted to prove your mother wrong, show her how capable you are, but it seems everybody but you agrees on the falsity of that statement.
Eventually, James sighs, a self-abasing sound that doesn’t give you much hope.
“Do you really want to see those lanterns?”
Once again, he seems completely sincere in his asking.
Even though you know the answer, know it like your own name, you stop to consider his question and all it entails. Not just if you want to see the lanterns, but if you’re willing to do what it takes to make it there. So far, you haven’t disappointed yourself, and you find the insatiable fire in your belly is only burning hotter than when you left.
“More than anything,” you say, and you make sure to steel your voice with all the determination you feel. James smiles, that small window returning.
“Then don’t let anything stand in your way,” he tells you, his eyes locked on yours. “Not even me.”

thank you for reading! xx
join the celebration!

hear me out. how abt nikolai as a dad!!! other parents gender can be up to you <3 thank you so much, feel free to reject !
"Tea Parties and Tiaras" - Dad!Nikolai x Reader ⋆·˚ ༘ *
Warnings; None, just fluff!!
Description; Dad!Nikolai headcannons and a cute little scenario revolving around a very dramatic tea party.
Tumblr media
A/N; Tysm for the request!! I have a lot of thoughts about him tbh, I'm glad I get to post them! Also omg u guys since Halloween is coming up what do you think nikolai would be??? I know he's definitely not sitting out in every day attire to hand out candy; brother has gotta be costumed up and causing mischief I just know it.
Headcannons !! ༊*·˚
★ I could go on all day about how he uses his ability as a father rather than a villain. He uses it to quickly fetch things from other sides of the house, like a bottle or a blanket, stuff like that.
★ But he also definitely uses it to mess with them sometimes. If they're doing something they're not supposed to be doing and he finds out, he's gonna stick his arm through the portal, grab their shoulders and laugh when they jump. Then he'll tell them to knock it off, unless it seems appealing to him at the moment. He might join in if it looks fun.
★ Nikolai also does magic tricks for them. He really likes pulling a rabbit out of his hat. He loves the surprised look on his kids faces. He also robs stores of candy sometimes.
★ However, Nikolai isn't afraid of saying no to them. He really doesn't want them to grow up spoiled little pricks.
★ He lets them dress him up. If he's with the kids while you run errands, you'll come home and see your man with that glittery gel eyeshadow smeared all around his eyes and a tiara on his head. The dresses didn't fit, and neither did the little plastic heels, but the hair clips, tiara, and makeup will suffice.
★ I said this for Fyodor too, but Nikolai does his children's hair. He paints their nails too.
★ Nikolai loves to bring his kids to fun places, water/amusement parks, circuses, fairs, trampoline parks, etc. He has NUMEROUS pairs of the trampoline park socks and he loves walking around in them everywhere.
Scenario !! ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥
(P/T is parental title because I want it to be gender neutral, d/n is daughters name, s/n is sons name)
When you thought about relaxing after work, partaking in a tea party wasn't exactly your first thought. But there you sat, cross legged with a pretty tiara on your head, courtesy of your young son and daughter. You could hear Nikolais little giggles as d/n tried to pull his hair back into a very messy ponytail.
"Oh, papa, you better brush your hair some more, this is way too knotty!" Your daughter exasperatedly says and let's go of Nikolais long hair, making him feign offense and turn to her. "Hey! You're very rude! It's okay though, because my tea party outfit is much better than yours is." He says, a mocking tone of voice as he squints his eyes while talking to her. She pouts and gets up sassily, retreating to s/n's side as he rummaged through their little play kitchen.
"Did you hear that? I can't believe she would say something like that to me!" He says to you with an exaggerated frown. You just scoff and pat his shoulder in support. "I wonder who could have taught her such wit." You sarcastically say. You both watch them search for enough teacups for the four of you, all of them being strewn throughout their play room. They eventually skitter back to the table with only three cups and saucers in hand. S/n places one in front of you, one in front of his sister, and one in front of himself.
Nikolai sits waiting for his, but when both s/n and d/n sit down without getting him HIS teacup and saucer, he's a bit annoyed. "Hey, where's my tea?" He asks them. The kids exchange a glance before d/n speaks up. "Mean, knotty-haired clowns don't deserve tea." She huffs. He's even more taken aback this time. "You guys are so mean! You're gonna make your papa cry." He says, his lip quivering a bit as his hand slaps over his heart for dramatic effect. He starts sniffling and you just snicker, watching d/n expression change to one of slight guilt.
She groans and begrudgingly gets up to grab another teacup and saucer from the kitchen, returning it and placing it in front of Nikolai. He stops pretending to cry and grabs her, pulling her into a hug and swaying her excitedly. "Aw, thank you! I knew you loved me enough to look past my messy hair." He says with a giggle. She eagerly tries to wriggle out of his hug, but s/n runs over and hugs Nikolai too, knocking him backwards and onto the ground. He lets out a soft "oomph" before they all start giggling.
"Hey! Now you're both gonna crush me!" He says, the kids getting up off of him while laughing. He lets out a loud sigh before sitting back up. "Okay, I think we're even now, yeah? I came to your lovely tea party with messy hair and you two just knocked the wind out of me in retaliation!" He says, patting their shoulders. They look at eachother and look back at him.
"Okay, I guess you're forgiven." S/n says, his hands on his hips and d/n nodding in approval. "Okay, good. Now, I think we should continue our tea party before we have to eat dinner." He says, pretending to sip on the plastic glass. They murmur soft affirmatives and sit back down. You lean your head on Nikolais shoulder as you pretend to sip on the tea too, content with the little family that the two of you have made together.

I can't believe I'm asking this or just I've had the thoughts to ask this before. This will he before I ask you about Freddy Vs Jason. But the Scream franchise? Your thoughts but just your icon being Stu and your header image, and saw a icon of Billy from someone you reblogged. As a guy who isn't a fan of the franchise and I've had thought at times to watch the first fully or something. I know lots of stuff due to searching up stuff and pop culture. I just want to hear your opinions.
OK so I LOVE the first Scream, it’s so so SO good!! but I’ve heard from a very trusted friend that the second one is Not Worth Watching, so I have absolutely no interest in anything beyond the very first movie lol (I have so many hangups about the MTV mask aesthetically that I couldn’t bring myself to watch the show either tbh) -- the first Scream is another of the first horror movies I saw so it also has a special place in my heart bc of that as well
anyways I kind of have a hard time picking this part because its just.. really fun? like it’s not shoving any message in your face, it’s just a real return to form for Wes Craven- like I live + breathe the original Nightmare on Elm Street, and Scream is just as high up there as NoES. I’ll admit I haven’t seen a TON of his movies, but The Serpent and the Rainbow came between NoES and Scream (amidst TV movies and some other films that look... just oof) and I could barely get through it- I remember the movie being super boring? I honestly had no idea it was Wes Craven at the time because it was totally the opposite of what I expected from him, so that’s why I say ‘return to form.’
I think the movie’s strongest points are its characters- they’re all really easy to love (even after an initial viewing, when you know the twist reveal of the killer). Billy’s got this very caring side towards Sidney, and even tho he has real frustrations wrt her trauma he’s willing to work things out with her + apologize- he’s also got a good camaraderie with Stu and just has a very grounded, even presence that balances Stu out excellently. Stu on the other hand is like, obviously the goofball + kind of a dickhead (the whole “Liver alone!” joke being a prime example) but he’s genuinely well-meaning and arguably over-affectionate? he picks Tatum up, hugs her, leans on her, like he’s very physical with her. He also leans on Randy when he and Billy corner him in the video rental shop so Stu’s probably just touchy-feely in general lol, but it’s a little trait that lends him a realness, you feel?
Tatum could’ve very easily fallen into the “bitchy best friend” stereotype but she’s honestly just protective? like yeah she’s sarcastic and whacks Stu in the head with a sucker but that’s like.. Stu deserved it because he IS a shithead, and while she can be snappy with Gale she does it to defend Sidney. She also puts up a really good fight against Ghostface, and has a neat discussion about female killers (Basic Instinct is her example) with the rest of the gang in the beginning. Sidney on the other hand has her own tough side which develops throughout the film as she’s faced with the killer, but like is realistically traumatized and is only ever presented as reasonable- they totally could’ve demonized her as a bad girlfriend because she won’t have sex with Billy but as we find out about her mother it’s like “oh yeah,” and you have a lot of compassion for her because of how she’s painted throughout the rest of the film
Randy is sort of the outlier here because he’s such an obvious red herring? like he’s the geeky horror-obsessed character that would’ve been the villain in like any other iteration of this movie, but instead he just kind of.... sidekicks his way out of death lmao. He’s the one who presents the rules of horror movies to us (don’t drink/do drugs, don’t have sex, and never say “I’ll be right back”), and when we find out he’s not dead, his line? “I never thought I’d be so happy to be a virgin.” Like, I really couldn’t imagine Scream without Randy-- sure, he’s just kind of... there; he doesn’t add a ton to the story, he’s not super integral to the plot, but he serves as a sort of audience surrogate and I feel like the movie would be missing something without him. He’s also a nice twist on the usual “watching violent media makes you violent!!!” thing
So, like, when we find out who the killer is (avoiding description in case others haven’t seen it/don’t know the reveal lol), the killer gives us that often-used line “movies don’t create psychos, movies make psychos more creative!” I think the quote’s a liiiiiiiitle oversaturated as like this edgy thing when it nicely encapsulates the film’s message? It’s not this big poetic thing, it’s just arguing that the “the reason X killed Y is because of [insert type of violent media]” mentality is complete bullshit. We establish that the killer had already decided to commit all these murders, each act was completely premeditated, the killer just turned to horror movies to see HOW to commit the crimes- it wasn’t a case of “he watched one horror movie and it turned poor little Jimmy into a violent serial killer completely out of the blue!” Then, on the other hand, the character who watches horror movies regularly for fun is the character who gives us the exposition we need and provides key advice to Sidney to help her survive (”this is the moment when the supposedly-dead killer comes back to life for a final scare”). It’s a really refreshing message to get as a horror fan
like overall though Scream’s just super fun? it gives us the tension we want, it gives us violent attacks and guts and gore (Casey’s death in the very beginning is sooooo good), but it never gets overbearing. Like yeah, sometimes I do want a splatterfest, and Scream is a very 90s movie (it shows, but it works for the film- imagining Scream in a post-90s setting makes me go.... eurgh.......), but it’s also one of the most wholeheartedly enjoyable horror movies I’ve ever watched. There’s no schlock, no parts that make me yawn- it just checks off a lot of boxes for me when it comes to fun horror movies and remains very rewatchable even if you know who the killer is
