Daniel 9:1-11, 1 John 2:18-3:6, Psalms 121:1-8, Proverbs 28:27-28

Today is the 2nd day of December. Welcome to the Daily Audio Bible. I'm Brian. It's great to be here with you. And here we are, a second day of the final month of the year and first day of the brand-new week. And obviously this will be our first full week in the month of December. However, today begins the season of Advent. Today is the first Sunday in Advent and if… I mean…obviously if you observe Advent then you already know that. If you don't have it is the traditional season of contemplation and preparing our hearts for the Advent, which means arrival, the arrival of the Savior. So, it allows our hearts to enter into the story. And, of course, we'll talk about that as we move further and further into the season, but today is the first Sunday in Advent. And, so, if you’re like, lighting Advent candles, you would light the first candle, the prophets candle, which represents our word for the year. Today is the first Sunday of Advent, which represents hope. So, let’s go into this season together, full of hope.

So, as we go into this first Sunday of advent and immerse ourselves fully in the season and in the brand-new month that we have, we’ll be the God's Word Translation. And of course, is our constant tradition, we’ll pick up where we left off yesterday and take the next step forward, which will lead us back into the book of Daniel. Today chapter 9 verse one through 11 verse one.

Prayer:

Father, we thank you for your word and we certainly thank you for this brand-new month and the beginning of this season that we know of as Advent and we invite your Holy Spirit to allow us to contemplate, to allow some space in our lives even in all of the busyness that will only get worse and worse as we move forward, to simply slow down and actually give some thought and some heart space to what this season is all about. So many years ago now the people waited, they waited for Savior to come as was foretold and then you came. And we rejoice because you have come, but we find that we too are waiting, we are waiting for a return, your second Advent, your second arrival that we read about in Scripture. So in this season of Advent we embrace that longing that we are ultimately longing for all to be made whole, all to be restored and made right. This is our hope and obviously a central piece of that story was coming, your arrival. And, so, in this season, yes it's festive, yes it's joyous, but in this season we embrace the undercurrent, the longing, the joy, the deepest joy that you would not believe people abandoned, that you came to rescue us, So, come Holy Spirit and plant this deep in our lives as we move further into this season we pray. In the mighty name of Jesus. We ask. Amen.

This is Nana from Oklahoma City and over five years ago I asked for prayer for our little granddaughter. Our son-in-law and daughter-in-law are adopting. The adoption is complete in the country she’s coming from and she’s even beats their name, but the United States has not granted her visa to come here. My kids have been waiting for over five years. My kids are trying so hard to do everything legal and yet somehow, we feel she has fallen through the cracks with immigration. She is in an orphanage and is being taken care of. Please pray for her to get her papers from the United States to be with her adoptive parents. She deserves a mom and a dad who love her and will teach her to love Jesus. I have prayed and prayed but feel as though she has been forgotten. I’ve never met her in person but have such a deep love for this little girl. Please help us pray for miracle. Thank you.

Hello Daily Audio Bible family, t’s Sheila from Massachusetts calling. And I’m calling today, I want to ask for prayers. I’m going through some spiritual warfare, really been on a spiritual journey with trying to bring my relationship more…make my relationship with Christ more intimate, create personal relationship with Christ with my Lord. And as I’m doing this from coming under a lot of spiritual attack. And it was brought to my attention today that the best thing for spiritual attack is to be in community and to pray for others and to ask for prayers. And it’s been a long time since I’ve asked for prayer for anything from anyone and I don’t know why have been so stubborn about that but definitely, you know, Satan is planting the seeds of doubt - is God real, is He the Almighty God that I think He is? As I’m trying to get closer to him the warfare is increasing. So, I just ask my entire family please pray for me, pray for covering, spiritual covering over me as I continue this journey. In the name of Jesus I want to pray. Satan stand back. Stand back from all of my brothers and sisters who might be undergoing any spiritual warfare at this time. In the name of Jesus, I pray that we all…all of your believers come to know you, to be close with you, to know that you are good and know that you are sovereign Lord, to know without doubt with a capital K that you are our God, our Creator, You are our father. We can love you and come to you with everything. Lord, I pray for all of us and cover us all from spiritual warfare. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Hello, this is Christine with the lumpy dog. I was calling for a couple of reasons today. First of all, they let me go home from the hospital for a little while to be home for Christmas, which is such a blessing. And everywhere I look I see something else to be grateful for. I’m just so happy to at least get this little rest. The other reason I was calling was to pray for Kera. And it’s a woman who lives in Denver and she had such an impassioned plea the other day…and for her son. She’s not quite sure where he is but he may be living under a bridge. But like any other mom she’s worried about him. And I was just so struck by how vulnerable she was to say I just started learning how to pray. And Kera we’ve all started learning how to pray in one way or another cause we’re all going to be one throughout our whole life. But good for you for calling in. And we will pray for you as well. Dear heavenly Father, I lift up your servant Kera, who has been so bold and so courageous and persevered so much on this journey. I pray Lord that you would give her strength and courage, the ability to stop and turn to you no matter what is going on, so she can look in your face and that she can draw strength and wisdom for her journey. I also lift up her son, that he would be able to take a next step…

Thank you so much for praying. Hi, Mary Baker from York Pennsylvania. I’m calling on behalf of several requests. I work in a hotel right now and I meet all types of people. One of them is a family staying in the hotel and the mother’s name is Kiana. They were evicted and she, by faith, is stepping out for God to provide. And He has provided so much thus far, and a lot of ministry is going through her being at the hotel also. So, I’m praying for that family and I’m thanking for you guys for praying with me for them. God provided shelter for someone else that I met in the past by working at the hotel and I know He’s going to provide for their needs, so I welcome you guys to pray with me and agree for that. She has two girls and a boy, and she’s also praying for her marriage. So, we believe that God can do mighty things. My coworker’s sister was diagnosed with stage IV cancer and she has been battling and the whole family has just gotten close to seeking for who God is and praying and asking for a lot of co-healing. I believe God can do it. He’s done it before. So, her name is Jadee Baraha and she is the sister of my other coworker. And I believe God is doing many, many miracles right now. So, thank you for coming in agreement right now. In Yeshua’s’ name. Amen. Thanks guys.
