Thinking about Steve releasing music under a different name because he's too self-conscious to have people know it's him and he gets way more attention than he originally thought he would.
He'd started on soundcloud (he doesn't rap, don't worry) and then as his music got more popular and more people started reaching out to do collabs with him, he decided to add his stuff to Spotify.
None of his friends know. They think he goes on road trips to the big city for work. He feels bad about lying to them but he also likes living this secret double life. His manager tells him he has a Hannah Montana complex.
And then all his worst fears come true.
He hears an all too familiar sound blasting from the speakers in Eddie's (and secretly his) music room. He pushes the door open and yep, there's Eddie singing along to his song while tuning his guitars. Steve is mortified. He doesn't know what to do. Does he say 'Hey, like my song?'
Eddie spies him standing in the doorway and reaches over to pause the music. "What's up, Stevie? Oh, was my music too loud?"
"No, I was just curious. What're you listening to?" He asks casually, even though he is screaming and throwing things around on the inside. Eddie would have said something by now if he'd found out. Steve just has to keep up the act for a little while longer, he's going to tell everyone next week before he releases his first full album.
"I know it's very different to my usual tastes, but this guy is good! I want to marry his voice. It's so beautiful and his lyrics! So amazing! He's a genius." Eddie says all of this while excitedly turning up the music and ushering Steve over to listen with him. "You gotta listen."
Steve sits down next to Eddie and nods along to the music, trying to be a little out of time. He's got to pretend he's never heard this song before and it's proving slightly difficult because it's one of his favourites. "You're right. This is really good!" It feels weird to compliment his own work.
Eddie smiles and bumps their shoulders together. "Babe, don't you think it's a little conceited to compliment yourself."
Steve sits there mortified for a solid 10 minutes while Eddie laughs and plays Steve all his favourite songs by him.

In this story, I'm absolutely not saying Tom Kaulitz is a bad person. This fanfiction is all my imagination and has nothing to do with how he actually acts and is in real life. Thank you, and enjoy.

Your POV:
It's been three weeks since Tom returned from tour, and he hasn't said but a couple words to me. I was growing more and more distant from him by the day, and I knew he was too. He was always working, rehearsing, or on tour. Truth was, I missed him. I missed him so much it hurt.
I tried talking to him so many times, to which he just blew me off, giving me no acknowledgment whatsoever, as if I'm invisible. And seeing him with all those girls at interviews made me feel even worse. I was growing tired of no affection, and was planning to end the relationship.
We've been together for two years, and I hated wasting what we had, but I needed someone who cared for my needs, who gave me love and all of them. I had been avoiding this, trying to find good in him but it became too much to bear at this point.
I gathered my confidence, and walked to his office where he sat, clearly tensed as he worked on music for the album. "Tom?" I asked, trying not to startle or annoy him. I shouldn't even have to do that, my reason for this attempt.
"What?" He shouted, getting up and walking over to where I stood, leaning on the door frame. Fear began to build up, and I felt helpless as his tall body was against me, angered already. "What could you possibly need?" He hissed.
He pushed me out of the office roughly, nearly throwing me into the living room. I stood my ground, firm. "I want to break up" I finally said, getting my worst fear of what could happen out of my system. I'm not going to be pushed around anymore. He neared me, huffing lowly.
"What?" He said, and I immediately regretted my decision, but it needed to be said. "I want to break up" I repeated, still holding my ground. "I heard you the first time" He yelled, and began to smash every memory we had built together, the picture frames, the little trinkets we had collected, shattered onto the ground within mere seconds.
I let him continue his rage, too afraid to move. I let him destroy everything, every solid core memory we had together because I was too fucking scared. "Weak" My head told me over, and over, and over, replaying like some sickness, corrupting my thoughts. He paused, and stopped, looking straight at me.
I didn't recognize this man at first, this man with hate, anger, pure, unfiltered anger in his deep brown eyes. I hadn't recognized him at all for the past three weeks, to be truthful to myself. I missed that man he was before tour, before all of this. I didn't know what happened, or if anything even happened at all.
Maybe he was just sick of me, sick of my constant bullshit. He picked up a vase and threw it straight at me, causing my skin to break and blood to slowly seep out. I felt it but didn't do anything, fear in my feeble, small body too strong to comprehend anything.
He looked at my arm, the red liquid making its way down the skin. He stopped in his mission of destruction and approached me again. I was too scared to form simple words, let alone full sentences.
"Go upstairs, now." He demanded. "I'll give you a few minutes to clean your wound but be ready. I want you stripped, bare." He pushed me in the direction of the stairs. I was paralyzed. "Move bitch! Now!" His hands were placed on my back, making me nearly fall over. I stumbled, but quickly regained my balance.
I walked up the stairs, the blood seeping out so much it made my head go fuzzy as I trudged up the final step. I made it to our bedroom, more likely his bedroom, and opened the door to the bathroom adjoined to the room.
I grabbed bandaids, and some cream for the cut, rubbing it in deep. "What did he say?" I tried my best to remember the words he roared at me before forcing me up here. "Something..bare?" I couldn't quite form proper thoughts, I had lost a good amount of blood.
"Stripped bare" My brain corrected, finally beginning to work again. I sighed and then my eyes widened in understanding. "Great" I muttered, cleaning the rest of the liquid off of my sore arm. I stepped into the dim-lit bedroom and began to undress.
I laid back on the bed, the cold air making its way to my skin. I heard the subtle sound of footsteps outside the room and the door clicking. I was looking up at the ceiling, trying with all of my might to not look at Tom. "You actually listened" His deep voice echoed throughout the room, seeming to bounce around.
He stepped onto the bed, hovering above my still-lying body. I was too afraid to move. His lips began to work on my neck, leaving marks. He was still fully clothed. His hands traveled down my skin, pulling me against him. A moan was beginning to build itself inside my throat, soon begging to be let out.
His lips were still at my neck, but his head rose slowly, lips hovering over mine. His breath was hot and ragged as he attacked my mouth, tongue fighting my own for dominance. His hands groped the sides of my head, and I was squirming underneath him. I moaned into his mouth, and I felt his lips curve into a smile.
"Good girl" He told me, pulling his shirt above his head. He again attacked my lips, tugging at them so hard they might've split and bled.
I whimpered loudly as his lips wrapped around my nipple. My back began to arch off the bed but his hands pushed me down roughly, and I gasped. "Stay still schlampe" He commanded as his tongue lapped around the bud. I nearly screamed, trying to hold my groans in.
He slipped his pants off, revealing his boxers. I whined and reached for him, trying to hold him close. "Be patient" He demanded, finally stripping out of the underwear. He held me down, hot breath fanning against my earlobe.
"Be good for me, and I'll let you come" He said, breath ragged. I gasped, and his head lifted from my ear. "Ready?" He asked, his length teasing my entrance. "Don- don't do that" I huffed, whimpering. "Do what? This?" He plunged into me and began pounding in and out, tears beginning to cloud my eyes.
I screamed in pleasure. His pace was frantic, the brutal thrusting making my back arch up off the bed. His hand began to rub between my folds, and my hips jerked up. "Such a good fucking toy" His voice was husky as he made me moan so loud the neighbors were probably going to complain.
He was looking up at me the entire time, sweat dripping down his forehead. I was panting, choked sobs left my throat, escaping through my parted lips."Please please stop" I cried out, as his pace was ruthless.
"You really think -fuck- I'm going to stop after what you did?" He groans, rocking me back and forth, the headboard slamming into the wall. My moans were getting more quiet, sobs overtaking them. I was too busy having my body drunk in pleasure to fully compute what the hell was actually happening.
He groaned and began to twitch inside me. "You almost there love?" He asked through a whimper. I nodded and began to feel the familiar knot build up. He released in me, juices coating my inner walls. I moaned and scratched his back as I came, thighs shaking after I did. "I'm not done yet" He grinned.
His fingers were pushing the liquids back in, making me sob. I was beginning to get overstimulated, which is what I could only guess he wanted. He rubbed my slick harshly, and I began to cry. The pain was quickly melting into pleasure as I shook. He looked up at my teary eyes, thrusting his fingers into me roughly.
"Tom!" I screeched, my second release coming hard and fast. He didn't stop, knowing I was close again. He never left me edged, always wanted me to reach the peak of pleasure, which was troubling me now.
"Stop!" I screamed again, his eyes widened and he pulled his fingers out. I was sobbing, my whole body shaking. "Oh love" He sighed, hugging me tightly. "Why did you ignore me before" I cried out, squeezing him. "I missed you" I sniffled into his chest. "I'm sorry schatzi, I just thought you didn't want to be with me anymore, which was kind of true"
He rubbed the back of my head calmingly. I soon fell asleep, wrapped up in his embrace. "Goodnight sweet girl" He tucked me in and nestled against me, eyes shutting and sleep taking over his body
a/n: i'm gonna try and two 2 writings a day now. next week i might only do one per day depending on schedules xx alaiah

PLOT
an echoey void. complete white. sometimes it glows, sometimes it reflects. there are people sometimes. there are no people other times. frequently, something colorful can be seen. there may be gardens, flowers, little islands sunk into the solid nothing. maybe a city here and there.
stairs. a sister, pushed. there is not a thud. there is nothing. she does not hit the ground.
mari finds herself having glitched into the real world, amongst actual humans. she must find a way to get back to everyone.
sunny has lost it. he doesn’t know where his sister is. people live forever here. where is she? why would he do this?
glitching starts. maybe some things clip into each other. maybe textures are missing. maybe a few holes pop up here and there.
it gets worse.
they’re trying to handle it. it’s hard.
OVERALL INFO
-basil was there to witness sunny push mari
-basil told the others, and although kel and aubrey got angry, they were more worried about mari
-i was somewhat inspired by the album art for hawaii part ii when i thought of the void
-when the void glitches, it turns black. this would be considered something appearing - there is no eye because mari simply disappeared. however, this something isn’t a figment of sunny’s imagination that’s purpose is to remind him of what he did. that’s what it does, though.
-when mari falls asleep in the real world, she “dreams” - but she’s not really dreaming. she goes back to the void in flickers, which causes the glitches. she tries to talk to sunny, but she’s not fast enough.
-everyone is the same age as when the incident happened. very little time has passed.
CHARACTERS
Tumblr media
basil -
-slightly taller than his og game counterpart
-has a more serious expression
-somewhat quiet
-after mari falls he begins to wilt.
-as plants do, he depends a lot on others although he doesn’t like to show it
Tumblr media
sunny -
-never talks
-since he can't make expressions, his body language is extremely expressive
-also the occasional tears that seem to appear out of nowhere signal he's sad (obviously
-he does Not play the violin
-after mari falls he starts visually glitching, sometimes inverting his colors.
Tumblr media
mari -
-fun-loving
-a bit chaotic
-still very kind
-loves to sing, but can get a bit embarrassed if someone is watching
-understands what hero is thinking and feeling better than anyone else (kel is also pretty good at it though)
-once she goes to the “real world”, she appears to “regular people” as just a butterfly
Tumblr media
hero -
-doesn't talk
-very stiff (made of glass) so he doesn't really have expressive body language
-since he has no face it's hard to understand what he's feeling
-how the fish inside of him act match his emotions though, so if you can figure that out it's a bit easier to understand his emotions
-cracks gradually mend after a bit but the glass is very fragile
-everyone has learned to be careful around him though so he rarely cracks
-however, after mari falls he begins to crack and leak. the fish start dying.
Tumblr media
kel -
-verry talkative
-does actually have a mouth! when he opens it the stars are pushed away to make room for it
-mouth is entirely white inside
-his voice sounds like around 100 people speaking in perfect unison
-the eye on his torso is very expressive!!!!
-pretty chaotic and loud
-tries to be quieter just in case his voice gets loud enough to crack his brother
-after mari’s fall, the stars on his body begin to flicker out. new eyes open. new distractions to prevent destruction.
Tumblr media
aubrey -
-her form just changes constantly
-the faster it changes the more excited she is
-sometimes 3d, sometimes 2d, sometimes even 1d
-hard to look straight at her
-can only repeat words she's heard before and says them in the exact voice of the person who said them. she hears a lot of things though
-loves colorful things!!!
-after mari’s fall, she begins to disappear for a few seconds before coming back. each time she vanishes, the wait is longer

Touch Me & You'll Never Be Alone - Part I
Tumblr media
No matter how much heartbreak the Kiszkas go through, there’s one person who is always there for them, who’s never going to leave.
Part I - Lights Down Low
Pairing: Danny Wagner x Josh Kiszka
Word Count: ~4k
Warnings: SLASH (don't like it, don't read it!), non-penetrative sex, handjobs, fluff, lots of spooning + cuddling. 18+ ONLY.
A/N: I can't believe this is the first Danny x Josh fic I've ever written. This idea of the 3-part series came to me suddenly and this one just poured out of me. Also, no, I am not at all rooting for any of the boys to have an IRL breakup LOL. But I do like playing up Danny in his Slut Era in fanfiction. I hope you enjoy ;)
---
Despite Josh usually feeling distinctly like a true older brother to Danny, there were times here and there that he didn’t. Danny thought it was just because Josh was naturally flirtatious–not even overtly, not in a seductive way even, but because he was so open and free and one of the most physical people he’d ever known. Sometimes the hugs went a little long; sometimes the brief touches were strong on Danny’s skin; sometimes the look in Josh’s eyes bordered on mischief, sometimes on what Danny could only describe to himself as desire. It always sent him into a bit of a tizzy when that happened, made him trip over his words when the time came to speak, or stumble, suddenly losing all grace and decorum.
The first time he’d caught one of Josh’s not-so-brotherly looks was just before their second album was released. Danny could remember clearly within the context of that time–the sudden distress of a global pandemic, the distance, the struggle it had been to record, the change of management, the stress on all of their relationships within the band and beyond. So many changes between Anthem and now, he thought as he brushed his teeth in front of the hotel mirror, that he sometimes wasn’t sure how they’d even made it through. But now here they were, doing well enough to each get their own hotel rooms after producing a third full album and beginning another tour.
After spitting and rinsing, he looked at himself, proud to think that he liked what he saw. A lot, actually. And it wasn’t just because so many of the fans thought he was hot–he’d seen the changes in himself, both unintentional and intentional, and felt like he’d grown into being the fiery (quite literally these days), solid beast of a drummer, the backbone and also the heartbeat of the band. So, in a way, he stopped being surprised when Josh would touch him for too long or look at him in that curious, wanting way; it was flattering. Danny embraced quiet praise more than vocal praise even to this day.
The excitement of the tour seemed to be fizzing through all of them continually even despite the personal setbacks. Josh especially was dealing with a lot–a breakup that had seemed sudden to Danny until he heard more about the intricacies and drawn out hurdles, things he’d missed because Josh was so good at being private when he wanted to be. It had taken them all by surprise, really, and Danny felt for him. His own breakup had been difficult and he’d seen it coming from a mile away. But with Josh’s breakup, there had been a moment–or really, a long string of minutes suspended between them that felt like both an eternity and a second–when his older brother nature completely disappeared and he just wasn't.
And secretly, Danny had been wanting something like that to happen again. So when a knock came upon his hotel room door and he opened it to see Josh standing there, barefoot and in slouchy, soft pajamas, his heart did a little flip.
“I’m not tired,” Josh announced, taking it upon himself to breeze right past Danny and enter his space. There was that big brother energy, Danny thought, but it was still an unusual gift. Josh answered his silent question by saying, “Jake’s passed out and Sam is having a mutual masturbation session with his girlfriend.”
Danny snorted, shut the door. “Seriously?”
Josh laughed, plopping himself down on the foot of the bed. “I’m not entirely sure, but something along those lines, I imagine.”
“Well,” Danny began, suddenly feeling sheepish. He and Josh had never talked about what happened before, right after the breakup–and while it wasn’t exactly fresh, it wasn’t exactly buried either. But Josh didn’t talk about things that didn’t need to be discussed–Danny knew that and decided to trust it.
Josh looked up at him, that impish mischief twinkling in his dark eyes. “Don’t tell me you were going to bed already, Daniel.”
“I was only preparing,” Danny defended, still standing, not sure of what to do with himself, so he asked, noting once again that Josh was in PJs and clearly not ready to go out out, “What do you wanna do?”
Josh crawled up the bed and put himself right against the pillows, curling his legs up so he was nestled into the white pillows and propped up against the headboard. Danny could have laughed; he also could have choked, and a strange, strangled sound that was a bit like both came out at what he was witnessing. Thankfully, Josh didn’t seem to notice as he was making himself right at home. He just patted the space next to himself and said, “We could watch a movie.”
With no other choice really, and not exactly wanting one anyway, Danny stepped through the low light, the soft golden glow from the bedside lamp and the slant of white light from the mostly-shut bathroom door. He got next to Josh but stayed on top of the blankets, hesitant. Wanting, but still hesitant. Josh had been pretty tipsy the last–and first–time they’d strayed out of “sibling” territory; he was sober now, Danny noted, but perhaps still vulnerable if Josh was coming to his room. If he really wanted to, Josh would wake Jake up or force Sam off the phone call or whatever. But then Danny remembered something Josh had said during that feverish, frenzied, raw time between the two of them.
“You're always there,” Josh had said while his hands moved underneath Danny’s shirt, nimble fingers spreading over Danny’s abdomen and then further up to his chest. “You ground people, Danny. We'd be damn lost without you.”
At the time, Danny hadn’t registered how profound those words now sounded in his mind as he replayed them. Now, lounging next to Josh, he felt a swell of pride in his chest.
He grabbed the remote. “I don’t even know what channels are on here. Is there Pay-Per-View or something? Is that still a thing?”
Josh chuckled. “Netflix exists, you know.”
“Oh.” Danny didn’t watch much TV when they were at hotels. He was surprised Josh was even privy to this information.
“Oh boy,” Josh said with a small sigh, and Danny saw an amused little smile on his face as he reached across him with his whole body, extending his arm to find Danny’s phone on the other side of the bed. “Let me do it.”
Danny let him take it, watched as Josh opened the app and connected it to the TV. “Been watching a lot of movies on your own lately?” he questioned, digging without really intending to dig, but the speculation was confirmed by Josh’s answer.
“Since I became single again,” he said, stealing the remote from Danny. “Sometimes film really is cathartic.”
Sure, Danny thought, Josh was always passionate about film. It was just that some of that had taken a backseat since they’d blown up. A little chord of sadness was struck in his heart as he thought about Josh being unusually reclusive, relying on movies to get him through the dark times. Of course he’d also relied on Jake and Sam and, sure enough, Danny too, to get him through it all as well, but maybe Danny hadn’t realized how deeply Josh was still hurting.
“How’re you doing with that?” he asked as Josh flipped through the seemingly endless number of titles in the app.
Josh glanced up at him, looking angelic in the dimness of the room, sharp cheekbones, sharp jaw but soft, gentle eyes and those pretty, full lips that Danny could remember feeling against his own. He expected more vulnerability, a broach to an open dialogue that would be both intimidating and curious, but Josh grinned and said, “Better with good company, my good man.”
Danny chuckled. “Oh, good.”
Josh finally settled on not a movie but a nature documentary, but Danny couldn’t focus much on the brilliant colors on the screen; he was fixated on the warm weight of Josh so close to him, almost touching, and the fresh, green scent of his damp hair and clean body. It didn’t take long for Josh to inch closer and closer until his head was on Danny’s shoulder and his hand was on Danny’s thigh–at that point, Danny was holding his breath, body stiff, totally unsure of how to play this out despite knowing what he wanted. He didn’t mind being a rebound of sorts, if that’s what this was, he just didn’t know if that’s what Josh wanted.
He decided he was just going to do his best to relax and go with the flow–he was good at that. He could do it, even if he did just want to haul Josh on top of himself and swallow him whole. Danny had never realized how strong his own attraction was to him until Josh had made that first move weeks ago–since then, he’d wanted more. Josh’s charisma had finally enticed him in a way well beyond just being friends and, yes, of course, brothers from other mothers.
Josh was so quiet that Danny wondered if he’d actually just drifted to sleep, but then he felt the wandering hand on his thigh move up just a bit, the slight pressure making his skin tingle beneath his shorts. He stayed still; Josh reached for Danny’s left hand and took it, wrapping that strong arm around his waist, forcing Danny to hold him closer. And Danny knew Josh needed physical touch, that closeness, that most intimate intimacy–it was just who he was. So Danny wasn’t entirely a stranger to the occasional cuddle-fest, but this was the first one since their past encounter and the first time Josh’s hand had ever found itself so close to his crotch. He was willing himself to just leave at this and enjoy the close contact until Josh’s fingers tread along his waistband.
“Josh,” Danny said, swallowing hard to prevent the annoying sound of him clearing his throat–he was finding it challenging to speak. “What do you want right now?” His voice was soft enough to make the question sound more gentle than it could have, thankfully, and it was truly all he wanted to know.
Josh didn’t even hesitate. “I want you to touch me,” he said, turning on his side so Danny had to look at his face again, into the glittering bronze irises behind dark, long lashes. “I want to touch you.”
There were questions that bubbled to the surface of Danny’s mind–Are you sure? What happened last time? Are you okay? Is this really what you want? But Josh always led with both his heart and mind–Danny told himself in the brief second he had before Josh hooked one small, muscular leg over his, that he wasn’t going to worry because he didn’t need to worry. So he grabbed that leg and pulled Josh closer, his arm around that lithe little waist hugging him tight against his torso; Danny saw a quick glimpse of a smile on Josh’s rosy lips before they were touching his own and then he was lost in the feeling, thoughts gone.
It proved quickly to be a different experience to touch and kiss Josh while they were both sober. Josh’s kisses were a little slower, a little softer, and Danny matched the pace and pressure; Josh’s hands still felt all over Danny’s body, moving from thighs to stomach to chest and back down and all around, but there was less urgency and more exploration. Curiosity that Danny also felt, and he mirrored some of the touches against Josh’s back, feeling the muscle of his shoulders and the slight dip right above his ass. Josh made a little noise against Danny’s mouth when he touched there, lips parting wider, and Danny was happy to welcome the first touch of Josh’s tongue against his own while he dared to bring his hand lower. Maybe he could elicit another noise like that if he just–
Josh moaned, sweet and sinful, when Danny outright grabbed his ass, squeezing one cheek with more force than even he’d expected. He brought his lips to Josh’s jaw, taking a breath before he asked, “Like that?”
“Mhmm,” Josh answered, nodding. He started to grind himself against Danny’s thigh, making his hard-on known, and even though Danny had quite a clear idea of what Josh was packing thanks to those jumpsuits and the brief hold he’d had on him through their clothes last time, the heat, weight and size of what was pressed against his leg was still a little intimidating. More intimidating was the fact that Danny’s only other experience came from Josh’s brothers, something he was pretty sure Josh was still entirely unaware of.
Danny bit his own lip when Josh managed to get a hand down his shorts. He was hard too, which Josh seemed exceptionally pleased with–he pulled back, grinning, cheeks flushed and eyes sparkling. “Ooh, Danny,” he purred, glancing down as if he could actually see what he was grabbing through Danny’s shorts. “Why haven’t I seen this before?”
“I’m pretty sure you have,” Danny said, remembering that time he and Sam were wasted and decided to skinny dip, leaving Josh and Jake behind because the lake was “too cold.” Not to mention the countless showers and other hotel rooms. Surely Josh had sneaked peeks before.
“I wanna see it again,” Josh told him, tugging on the waistband while pushing Danny’s shirt up at the same time enough to reveal that famed happy trail and a slight strip of pubic hair. “Do you wanna see me too?”
“Yeah. Yeah, I do,” Danny said, dizzy and hot but managing to grab the hem of Josh’s shirt. Josh’s grasp on him left to finish the job, tugging his shirt over his head, and Danny’s hands flew to the firm, warm chest, grabbing Josh under his arms. He pulled him on top and then Josh flew into action, writhing on top of him, humping Danny hard while he attacked his mouth.
While Josh’s teeth found Danny’s bottom lip, his hands found the pesky t-shirt again and they broke apart for him to tear it away from Danny’s body; Danny shivered both from the sudden blast of the a/c and Josh’s hands running up his sides, one landing on the side of his neck, fingers brushing through his hair. When the desperate, fast movements of Josh’s hands sliding down between them, pawing at his shorts to urge Danny to get them off, he couldn’t even comprehend the feeling of gratitude and confidence that was coming to life inside of him. Even more when Josh, slithering down his body, eyes gazing over every exposed inch of him, looked up and said, “God, you are so gorgeous.”
Sure, Danny had gained so much confidence over the years, but hearing that from Josh was a different story, even if Josh was always generous with his compliments. But now those words were dripping with sensuality and desire, the slow, low delivery of them lingering in Danny’s ears. He couldn’t reply when Josh got both of them completely naked and climbed back on top, hands clasping the sides of Danny’s face, kissing him deep and slow.
And Danny knew what he was doing in bed most of the time, and Josh had told him what he wanted–for Danny to touch him. So his own hands moved languidly around Josh’s body, stroking his arms, gliding over his back around to his abdomen, around again to squeeze his ass again and bring them closer, their erections finally making contact. Josh moaned again, smothered by Danny’s lips and then his tongue slipping into his mouth, and Danny reciprocated, a rumble deep in chest just barely audible. He couldn’t hear the TV anymore and wondered when Josh had managed to mute it, but the flicker of blue and green glow flashed beyond his closed eyes; when he opened them, catching some air, Josh was cast in it, a halo of cool light around his messy curls.
“How do you wanna–?” Danny asked, sensing this pause was building up to something more. Josh rolled off him and onto his side, facing away, and grabbed Danny’s hand again to rope him over; Danny followed dutifully, now able to sense more of what Josh wanted. He hooked his leg over Josh’s and his arm over his chest, pressing his own chest to Josh’s back, his nose in that damp hair. Josh reached back to grab Danny’s hair in turn while he brought Danny’s hand down to his cock.
“Jesus Christ,” Danny said softly, really just to himself while he was caught in a daze, fighting to follow purely instinct and not give way to any trepidation. Consequences could come later. But if Jake and Sam were any indicator, he actually felt like the chance of there being none was good. He knew his place in the entire band now. So would Josh like what his brothers like? He tested the waters, cupping and lightly squeezing Josh’s balls; Josh squealed and Danny stopped, thinking that no, he absolutely did not like that, but then Josh wiggled back against him and asked him to do it again.
“Tell me what you like,” Danny requested, thinking that Josh actually using his words would be more interesting than just mimicking what he’d done with others.
“That. I like that,” Josh told him, tugging on Danny’s hair, arching his back when Danny repeated the action. “You’ve got big hands, Danny–use them.”
Danny groaned. He rubbed his own hard cock against Josh’s ass as he began to stroke him, his, yes, big and undoubtedly skilled hand wrapped around Josh, who was starting to leak precum into his palm. Danny used that–he rubbed his palm over Josh’s slit and fisted the wetness around him and the sound Josh made assured Danny that he was grateful for the lubrication. Danny brought his chin to Josh’s shoulder, turned his head to nibble at his ear and down his neck, slight bites turning into wet kisses.
As vocal as ever, Josh was freely letting whines, moans and the occasional pleas and praise slip from his mouth, and Danny was trembling behind and around him. He was finding it increasingly difficult to stay where he was, just spooning and just jerking him off, but if this is what Josh wanted, so be it–he didn’t doubt he was going to bust his own load soon enough with the friction he was creating by his own grind and Josh’s constant movement. With the other hand that had been resting on Josh’s chest, locking them together, he tilted Josh’s face to his and angled himself right enough to kiss him again; Josh tugged even harder at Danny’s hair, making his scalp sting but it only fueled the fire within to the point that he had to warn Josh of his impending combustion. The closeness, the shared sweat and heat, the novelty of being tangled up with Josh was such a delirious turn-on. Danny had no idea how he was going to navigate this after the fact, but that warning thought quickly disappeared as Josh’s teeth dug into his lip and his cock twitched and leaked in Danny’s hand.
There was absolutely no warning when Josh abruptly shoved him backwards. Danny blinked, vision blurry with the still-flashing TV screen before Josh’s form shielded it; he got on top yet again, strong thighs clamped around Danny’s hips. Danny grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him down while Josh tried to stroke both of their cocks together, but Danny had to take over, his bigger hands coming to the rescue. Josh shuddered and spared Danny’s swollen lips, navigating his own kisses to his flushed neck; Danny stroked and groped his ass again while Josh rode his thighs, teeth grazing his skin, tongue flicking out to soothe the bites.
“Fuck,” was all Danny could manage to say when he felt himself getting closer and closer, overwhelmed in the best way possible. He’d certainly imagine sex with Josh in the past few weeks but his imagination hadn’t been skilled enough to truly embody what it felt like.
“Yeah, Danny, that’s good,” Josh rasped out, hands gripping his shoulders until one came to grab his jaw, forcing Danny to look right at him. When Danny did, brow furrowed, throat tight while so close to the edge, Josh stared into his eyes and bit down on his own bottom lip until the rest of his face unraveled into an expression of orgasm that Danny definitely couldn’t picture in his imagination no matter how similar that face looked to Josh’s stage performances.
Danny looked down at the pearly streaks painted between his fingers and on his belly, stark white against his tan and black hair. The release didn’t stop Josh from grinding harder and taking Danny’s erection in his own hand, but his return to kisses was sloppy and extra wet. Saliva dripped from his mouth to Danny’s and down both of their chins and that alone made Danny’s impending release surge forward, a tight coil in his stomach turning tighter before he suddenly snapped and dug his fingers into Josh’s back, spilling between them.
And when he opened his eyes, breathing hard, Josh was smiling down at him. “Do you always come that much?”
Danny looked down at himself again. “Uh–hm. I guess so?” He just couldn’t think right now. His heart was a drum of its own in his chest while his head felt light and airy, mind lacking the ability to process what had just happened.
Josh got off him and onto his side once more, this time remaining facing him, gazing up at him with his hands tucked beneath the side of his head. “Please don’t tell me you’re going to kick me out now, Daniel.” He sighed dramatically. “I have a fragile heart.”
“And that’s why you came here?” Danny asked, settling down next to him though he did really want to zip into the bathroom to clean himself off. That could wait, he supposed, because maybe Josh was actually opening up here.
“I didn’t come here with the intention of sex,” Josh said, his eyes earnest, solidifying truth in the words. “I wouldn’t use you like that. Unless you feel like I did?”
Danny smiled a little. “No. I’m actually kind of grown up now, in case you’ve forgotten. I would say ‘no’ if I didn’t want to.”
“So you wanted to?”
“Sure. Why not?”
Josh paused, eyes searching Danny’s face, then he asked, “So you’re alright with what happened before? Right after the breakup?”
“Of course. I–I mean, I was hoping something would happen again,” Danny confessed, finding himself lulled by his post-orgasm haze and Josh’s sweet, serene face. “I think I’m just a little surprised it did.”
Josh cuddled up against him, pressing his face against his chest while Danny draped his arms over his back. “You’re very comforting, you know. You didn’t even have to say much to make me feel better,” he said, and warmth bloomed in Danny’s chest at the words. “Just you being there helped–and does help–so much.” Josh looked up, peeking through curls that had fallen into his face. “And you have the best hugs of anyone I know.”
“Well, I’ll keep hugging you until you’re all healed up,” Danny assured him, completely meaning it.
“I love that. I love you.” Josh brought his head back down and Danny felt the butterfly kisses of eyelashes fluttering against his chest. “Just don’t tell Jake and Sam. I fear they’ll be too jealous to handle it.”
Danny laughed. “Jealous? What do you mean?”
“Oh come on, Daniel,” Josh said, words muffled. “You think Sam’s ever kept his mouth shut about you two? You think I can’t pull a secret out of Jake?”
“Oh shit,” Danny said, and Josh giggled. “Are you serious? You knew?”
Josh’s cackle tickled Danny’s skin. “Okay, I didn’t know details, but now I think I can fill in the blanks.”
“Damn.” Danny felt utterly screwed, but he wasn’t sure why–apparently everything was fine. Apparently the Kiszkas were perfectly content to share as much as he was.
“You belong to us,” Josh said, and Danny’s heart flipped again. “As much as we belong to you.”

Review & photos – Eric Brisson
May 29, 2023
Monday, the weather network warned us of a warm front coming in and to brace for the heat. For a few thousand people, that heat began with Louis Tomlinson performing at Place Bell in Laval.
A crowd of mostly females were waiting in anticipation for Louis to come out on stage before they had snarls and The Academic open for him. Due to the photo restrictions, unfortunately, I didn’t get to see these acts, I heard good things and hope to be able to catch them another time.
Tumblr media
It was time for the main event, none other than former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson. I have to admit I was not familiar with his stuff or One Direction’s for that matter. The crowd however was fully aware and got most of my attention on this night. From the first time we saw Louis on stage, the screams got louder and louder. It was so riveting seeing the fans’ reactions to this surreal character that they grew up with, they were in a trance and all they could do was scream, cry and sing along with their favourite singer. It was quite beautiful, it seemed like everyone in the place was going through their own magical moment, I’ve never quite seen anything like it. I was totally down for it.
Tumblr media
Louis had them in the palms of his hands, never letting go. He performed 22 songs including 2 One Direction songs and 1 cover of Arctic Monkeys’ 505, which I thought was spot on. He was fantastic. I really enjoyed his set and some of the songs that stood out to me were “Bigger Than Me,” “Written all over your Face,” “Copy of a Copy of a Copy,” and “Back To You.” The best moment of the night was the first song of the encore. The crowd went wild welcoming him back to the stage and when the first note of One Direction’s “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” hit the screams were at an all-time high and my ears are still ringing. Call me impressed: he killed that song, even inserting a verse from The Who’s Baba O’Riley.
Tumblr media
A solid night for the Brit; his solo career is starting off strong touring his second album Faith in the Future. Make sure to go check him out in a city near you.

A House In Nebraska: My Thoughts ౨ৎ
Tumblr media
This song, by Ethel Cain, has undoubtedly been one of my favorites since early last year. Although it isn't exactly the most popular off the album it's on, Preacher's Daughter, it's definitely still the one I've listened to and liked the most. Now, with that being said, let's continue!
First off, I'd like to thank Hayden for giving me an opportunity to cry the most I ever have in one night, all to this song. If you're out there, you're amazing and I love you. Special mention goes to @ddepressedbookworm for introducing me to this impactful album. Okay, enough dilly-dallying, let's go.
Tumblr media
The song starts with some, frankly, insane piano. It's dark and gloomy, setting the atmosphere for the rest of this seven-minute song. Hayden uses many past tenses in the lyrics, allowing us to visualize the impact of Ethel's lover leaving her.
These lines of the chorus, "Where the world was empty, save you and I/Where you came and I laughed and you left and I cried" really resonate with me. The fact that Ethel's misses her lover Willoughby Tucker (canon name) so much is just so insane to me because I've felt that before. Again, this song really hits me hard.
Skipping the next few verses of this very very slow song, we have the bridge/ending. I suggest you read the entire last two verses as I will NOT be quoting them here (it's too long). However, I will never fail to emphasise these lines "And you might never come back home, and I may never sleep at night/But God I just hope you're doing fine out there, I just pray that you're alright" I'm genuinely so hurt by this.
It's so awfully good because Willoughby isn't going to see Ethel again, but Ethel still hopes he's doing well. That is so painful, as a listener, to hear.
Tumblr media
Overall, if you didn't want to read all that yapping, I rate the song a solid 98/100- the first time I heard it, I genuinely shed tears of pure anguish. I know a lot of people wouldn't do the same, but it's just my personal opinion, please respect that!
Once again, thank you for reading! I love all my devoted followers. Even if you're not my follower. Maybe I don't love you then.
Xoxo,
iz ౨ৎ

Bleachers - Bleachers
Initial Thoughts: The album feels deeply introspective. I need to sit with lyrics and vibe to fully form an opinion. No immediate standouts.
1. I Am Right On Time- a solid opening thesis statement. This a Bleachers album, there will be nostalgic references and it will be vaguely (or as of late, more and more overtly) New Jersian. “My mind is mirrors, don’t know what is and what’s reflection. The future’s past and I am right on time,” left an imprint on me. I like the evolution of the band becoming more and more involved in the records. This is a standard Bleachers track, not lacking, but nothing exceptional. 3.5/5
2. Modern Girl- I’m a such a sucker for a saxophone, and it’s responsible for the energy in this song along with the We Didn’t Start the Fire-esque shouty list verses. Would shake my ass to it a bit, guess I’m a Modem Girl. 4/5
3. Jesus Is Dead- The cadence this song is chanted in is not pleasing to my ears. This and the lyrics give off the air of a bad Weezer impression (a poor impression of Weezer or an impression of Weezer when they make bad music? You decide). There’s tiny glimmers of good (“Jesus is dead and so’s New York, I built a place right down the shore. It’s nice”.) and I would bet this song is fun live, but it’s a skip for me. 1.5/5
4. Me Before You- the songwriting reminds me of a classic Bleachers hit even though it’s slower and quieter. Antonoff sings in a breathless manner that fits the yearning lyrics. And I enjoyed the jaunty little outro to take us out. 4.5/5
5. Alma Mater- This was my favorite of the songs released before the album. Love the surprise Lana vocals and there are points that flirt with being Bon Iver falsetto-esque. I don’t really get why we’re screaming “fuck Balenciaga”. It takes me out of the mood of the rest of the song and doesn’t fit. 4/5
6. Tiny Moves - Jack enters his“I Love My Wife” era with this cute little number. It’s not generic, but is missing a really hard hitting lyric or something else to really take it over the top for me. 4/5
7. Isimo - I’m also a sucker for a good “shalala,” which is tastefully tucked in to the sentimental (boulder) lyrics that sound like Jack is rooting just for you. 4.5/5
8. Woke Up Today- A simple love song with some real humdinger lyrics. “Woke up today and I was right, my winning ticket in her eyes”. “But if faith is a chance, then I can believe I would deserve every breath I see you breathe”. Oof, the man is in love. Missing something to really take it over the top for me, but a beautiful little romance. 4/5
9. Self Respect- a sad boy anthem for the ages, with an assist from the always welcome Florence Welch. A boy boygenius-esque depressed wallower. And sometimes I am tired of having self respect. I don’t know if I love the Kobe/Kendall lines but I’ve certainly heard worse things. The random modern references just really snap me out of the mostly nostalgic vibes Jack likes to invoke. 4/5
10. Hey Joe- An Aaron Dessner collab, with Claud vocal! I like this upbeat, but contemplative song. 4/5
11. Call Me After Midnight- I don’t get anything out of this song. It sounds a bit like a The 1975 reject that didn’t need to be on their record or this one. It’s fine enough, it just doesn’t have a moment that hits hard enough to justify its existence. 2.5/5
12. We’re Gonna Know Each Other Forever- this track has a beautiful, captivating instrumental and pleading, pensive words. The narrator feels frozen and helpless and the screams at the end really punctuate the conversation. 4/5
13. Ordinary Heaven- This sounds like a closing track to me, but there’s still one more song left. The vocal layering is well done, but the song is a bit repetitive and long for me and the spoken sample doesn’t add what it needs to add. 2.5/5
14. The Waiter- I find the autotune effect too grating to enjoy anything else about this track. Going to be a skip for me every time, and an unfortunate way to end an album I would overall say I enjoyed. 1/5
Final Thoughts:
I think one of the album’s biggest flaws is that it lacks energy, an abnormal complaint for a Bleachers record. Some artists kill a slow, sentimental ballad (and there are several Antonoff-produced simple piano ballads I’d list as favorites of all time), but Bleachers’ strength for me has always been scream in your car with the windows down anthems (“Don’t Take the Money” isn’t even particularly fast, but I feel it in my soul more than this collection of songs). Releasing both“Tiny Moves” and “Modern Girl” before album release was a misstep when those are the highest the energy reaches on the album and neither of those. There was such a nice run of songs I enjoyed in the last half of the record that was really brought back down by the ending few. There are some songs I will return to, but probably not this record as a whole. The average score was 3.32 and I will keep it there rather than round up or down because I think rounding down is too harsh, but there’s not enough for me to round up. 3.3/5
Top 3:
Me Before You, Isimo, Woke Up Today
What’s Next?
I’m definitely interested in the bonus tracks from this album once they are released on streaming. Hoping to get Deeper Well out quickly so we can fully enter our Cowboy Carter era 🤠. There are a couple deluxe/EP’s that got released last week (Olivia Rodrigo, Hozier, possibly Tyla’s album?👀) that I’d like to get to as well. Next Friday, Orville Peck will be releasing an album as well, so please keep your cowboy hats and fringe securely fastened.
Let me know your thoughts about Bleachers and what upcoming releases you’re excited for!

The Lovers
The Lovers represent relationships and choices. Its appearance in a spread indicates some decision about an existing relationship, a temptation of the heart, or a choice of potential partners. Often an aspect of the querent's life will have to be sacrificed; a bachelor's lifestyle may be sacrificed and a relationship gaine, or one potential partner may be chosen while another is turned down. Whatever the choice, it should not be made lightly, as the ramifications will be lasting.
Author’s note: hi again friends! Per usual this fic has two time jumps, then and today. I proofread, but typos happen. I still plan on updating weekly! Enjoy!!!

PART 5:
THEN:
It had been about two months since the guys had left Atlanta. You would be lying if you had said you weren’t disappointed that they hadn’t been back. You had talked to Sam almost everyday. He would call you and tell you funny little blurbs. He would FaceTime you and show you random things, occasionally you would catch a glimpse of Jake and your heart would pick up pace. Sam would text you about anything and everything. You and Sam had become very close. He was comforting to talk to and he made you laugh. Recently he had watched a documentary about the meat industry and called you for 3 hours ranting about it and announcing he was now vegan. You also talked a few times in your group message with all of the guys. But to your disappointment you didn’t talk to Jake much. He had called you a few times to discuss various topics and he would text you when he saw things that reminded him of you- but it never felt like anything solid. You knew they had been incredibly busy. Since releasing their full EP they had been hard at work on their first studio album. They spent a lot of their time in Detroit these days and you wished you could make it up there. You had just finished your second year of law school, and you were ready for summer. But you were going to take a full summer course load so that you could graduate a semester early, but it was all online. You were just about to get into bed when you heard your phone ring. You felt a little tinge of anxiety hit you. More than likely it wasn’t Jake, but he only pretty much called you at night and you hadn’t talked to him in almost a week. You look down and see it’s Sam. You try to swallow your disappointment and answer the phone.
“Hi sorority girl. What are you up to on this fine evening?” Sam says slurring a little.
You laugh. “Sam, are you a little bit tipsy right now?”
“Absolutely not. I was calling to tell you about a new drink recipe that I just perfected. Next time I see you we will be drinking these and only these.” He says.
**
An hour later and you were finally off the phone with Sam. He could be so spastic when he was drunk. As soon as you hung up, your phone started buzzing again. Damn Sam what now? You thought to yourself. But this time when you looked down at your phone your stomach dropped a little. It was Jake. You let it ring a few times before answering.
“Hi.” Jake says softly.
“Hi.” You say back to him.
“How have you been?” Jake asks.
You think for a moment. “Pretty good I guess. I finished my semester and now I have about a week off before summer classes start.”
“How did you do?” He responds.
“I did pretty okay. I got an A in every class.” You say trying not to sound like you’re bragging.
Jake laughs. “Pretty okay? I would say that’s an understatement, don’t be modest about your accomplishments. You work really hard and deserve to boast about your achievements.”
You pause. “Yeah you’re right Jake. I’m basically the Jimmy Neutron of law.” You say with a laugh.
Jake chuckles out. “There she is. So listen, I wanted to talk to you about something.”
Your stomach drops a little. “Okay what’s up?”
“So I have a magazine interview in Atlanta this weekend. I fly in on Friday morning and leave Sunday.” Jake starts. “I would like to stay with you, if that’s okay.”
You let out an internal sigh. “Oh yeah of course. Do you need me to pick you up from the airport?”
“No, the magazine company is Ubering me to the studio when I land. I should be there sometime Friday night.” He replies.
You realize that his interview is Friday, yet he’s staying until Sunday. You try not to think too deep into that. “Okay yeah that works.”
“Great, thank you. So I’ll see you this weekend then?” Jake says.
“I’ll see you this weekend.”
**
The week went by so slowly. You made sure and cleaned your apartment thoroughly and then you cleaned it again. It was Friday and the office closed at noon. You didn’t even work most Fridays but today you needed a distraction. Jake had texted you around 9 that he had landed safe, but you hadn’t heard from him since.
“Hey kid, get out of here and go enjoy your weekend.” Your uncle said walking up to your desk.
It was only 11, you wanted another hour to keep busy and you planned on staying over today, but you couldn’t tell your uncle no. So you packed up and drove to the nail salon even though you didn’t need a fill in for another week.
**
Around 6pm Jake had texted you to get ready, that he had a couple of hours to wrap up then he would be there. You had showered and put vanilla lotion all over your body. You had no idea what to wear, he didn’t tell you if it was a formal thing or not. You were thinking too hard into this. You ended up going with a pair of black high waisted pants that flare out at the bottom, your trusty docs, and a simple black tube top. You put on a dainty gold necklace with your first initial on it, a few bracelets, and your gold hoops. You blew out your hair a little more dramatic than normal, and did some lighter makeup than your usual going out look. You were ready but kept finding little things to tweak. Why were you so nervous? You were not nervous last time. You decided to calm down, throw on a record, and make a whisky on the rocks. You hear a knock at your door and your eyes dart to your clock. It’s 8:37 and you know it must be Jake. You take a swig of your drink and go open the door.
“Hi.” Jake says smiling down at you. He has a small bouquet of flowers in his hand, and a suitcase in the other. He smells good, he looks even better.
“Hi.” You say back, opening your door wider so he can come in.
He hands you the flowers and leans in to kiss your cheek. “You look nice.”
“Thank you, so do you.” You say as you take the flowers as Jake walks in.
“Oh you started pregaming without me?” Jake says motioning towards the whisky.
“Just a long day at the office.” You lie.
“Well prepare to forget all about it. Are you ready to get out of here?” Jake says dropping his bag. With that you were off.
**
You pulled up outside an Italian restaurant. You weren’t necessarily expecting Jake to take you to dinner, but you were glad because you were really hungry.
“So, tell me about your interview.” You said to Jake after the waitress took your drink order. You both ordered water and Jake ordered a bottle of wine.
“Ah, it was good. Nothing too crazy.” Jake responds folding a napkin in his lap.
“Now Jake, don't be modest about your accomplishments.” You say giving him a grin.
He smiles down at the table. “Yeah I guess you can call me the Jimmy Neutron of guitars.”
**
After you and Jake both finished your pasta he picked up the check and called an Uber for your next destination. You had both finished the bottle of wine and started feeling a little giggly already. The Uber stopped and let you and Jake out on the street. There was nothing but a red phone booth on the corner up against this concrete wall. You looked at Jake confused.
“Come on.” He says grabbing your hand.
He closes you both inside the phone booth.
“Uh Jake if you need to make a call you could use my phone or yours?” You say with a laugh.
“Shh trust me.” He says as he picks up the rotary style phone and starts sliding over numbers.
He hangs up and takes your hand again, this time leading you out of the phone booth. He walks you over to an alley and there’s a door. He knocks and someone opens it and ushers you both inside. You go down a staircase before you enter a large room. There is a bar, a pool table, and a dancing section. There are maybe 30 people in the room you had guessed.
“Jake is this a fucking speak-easy?” You say a little bit bewildered.
He smirks at you. “I may have asked the magazine if they had any cool spots they knew of. Let’s get a drink.”
You follow Jake over to the bar where he orders you both Bourbon sidecars, Jake loved whiskey.
“Do you play?” Jake asks, taking a sip of his drink and motioning towards the pool table.
You huff out a laugh. “I dabble.”
“Let’s play, I’ll wrack. Ever played cutthroat?” He asks.
You nod your head.
**
“Goddamnit.” Jake said laughing.
You had just finished your third game of cutthroat. You had beat Jake 2 games in a row. You were both also on your third drinks.
“You want some more or have you had enough?” You say leaning up against the pool table and rubbing chalk on your stick.
Jake approaches you and puts both hands on either side of you. He leans in close and you can smell the whiskey on his breath. It makes a tingle run down your spine.
“I don’t know if I could ever get enough. But I do need another drink. Would you like one?”
You look up at him and nod your head. Jake strolls off to the bar. You start to wrack the balls up again when you hear White Room by Cream start to play. You turn around and Jake is walking towards you with a smile and drinks in hand.
“Hm this is quite the change in music Jacob.” You say as he hands you your glass.
He hums and takes a sip of his drink. “Just a coincidence I suppose, but whoever chose this song has great taste.”
You huff out a laugh. “Oh yeah I agree. Let’s spice this night up shall we?”
Jake looks at you curiously. “Whatever do you mean?”
You give him a grin. “Well first, shots.”
**
After you and Jake were both drunk you had decided it was time to go home. You two had drank, laughed, and danced. You were exhausted but you wanted to kiss Jake more than anything. You had your head laid on him in the Uber and his hand was in between your knees. You looked up at him and his eyes were on yours. He leaned in ever so slightly and you filled the rest of the space. He softly kissed your lips. You kissed him back with passion and the longer you kissed his hand was slowly sliding towards your upper thigh. Then you felt the car stop.
“We’re here.” Your driver said putting the car in park.
Jake cleared his throat. “Yep thanks man.” He said as he opened his door and ran around to open yours. You both had stumbled back into your apartment laughing the whole way up. When you got inside you plopped down on the couch and so did Jake. The last thing you remembered was him kissing his your head.
**
When you woke up the next morning you were in your bed. You had on a t-shirt, your panties, and the tube top you wore the night before. You look over and Jake isn’t there but he had definitely slept there. Your head was hurting and you were so thirsty. You let out a groan and got out of bed. Half of your makeup was off your face and you looked a little rough. You washed your face and brushed your hair and teeth before walking out to your living room. Jake was nowhere to be found. Damn, did he really skip out on you? You didn’t peg Jake as the type to fuck you and leave but here you were. Did you fuck last night? You couldn’t remember. Your brain was foggy. You needed a shower to clear your mind and bring some life back into you. You let the hot water hit you and immediately you felt somewhat better. You washed your body and then went on to your hair. You closed your eyes and massaged your scalp.
“Coffee?” You heard.
You gasped and your eyes flung open. There was a large coffee being poked through the shower curtain.
“Jesus fuck! You scared the hell out of me.” You said.
Jake chuckled. “Sorry sorry I went out and got us coffee and breakfast. I’ll meet you out in the kitchen.”
You finished your shower and got out and dried off. You brushed your hair and threw on a band tee and pajama shorts. When you got out into the kitchen Jake was sitting in your breakfast nook drinking his coffee.
“Good morning there are a few breakfast sandwiches in the bag. I didn’t want to eat without you.” Jake says.
You sit down across from him. “Oh thank you.” You say as you take a first sip of your coffee. Jake hands you a breakfast sandwich and unwraps his. You start to unwrap yours.
You look up at him. “Um Jake last night did we?”
He cuts you off immediately. “No.” He lets out a laugh. “Trust me if we did you would remember.”
You laugh at him and take a bite of your sandwich. “I think I drank a little too much last night.”
“I think we both did. I did try and take off your makeup before I put you to bed last night.” Jake says.
You grin at him. “I appreciate that.”
“So I have to go back to the studio today to pick the photos they’re using for the interview. Would you care to join me?” Jake asks you.
“Yeah sure. I definitely need to get ready first though.” You say and take another drink of your coffee.
**
When you got to the studio Jake went right to work. You stood behind and watched him. You had decided to wear a pair of frayed vintage shorts, with a black bell sleeved top that tied in the front. You wore your docs, jewelry, sunglasses, and your purse. You did another light makeup look and threw a few curls in your hair.
“Can I get you some water or something?” One of the directors said walking up to you.
“Oh no thank you.” You replied.
“I’m so glad he decided to come to Atlanta, he’s been such a pleasure to work with.” The director says to you.
You look a little confused. “What do you mean?”
“Well we have a studio in Detroit, but when we called him he insisted that he do this in Atlanta. Glad he did though. Please let us know if we can get you anything.” The director says walking away.
You smile and look back over at Jake.
**
TODAY:
“Okay Sammy I’m ready to be wowed.” You said as you sat on the edge of his piano. You were in the studio after Sam had promised to show you some new music. You were well aware that the boys were deep into their next album, but you hadn’t gotten the chance to hear a whole lot.
He looked at you. “Okay. This song is a concept Jake came up with, but it resonated with me. Thus this piano moment was born.” Sam said softly.
He warmed up the keys and then started playing the intro. It was incredibly soft and beautiful, something you didn’t fully expect. He played for a few minutes and you were completely drawn in. Sam was so beyond talented. Truthfully, you thought he was the best pianist you had ever seen, but you would never tell him that because he would tease you. Sam loved to tease you, but you did it right back to him. When he finished playing he huffed and ran his fingers through his hair.
“Yeah you get it. It sounds a lot better with the drums and guitar.” Sam said, going back to playing around with the keys.
“That was absolutely beautiful Sam. What’s the working title for this one?” You asked.
Sam grinned at you. “Are you trying to squeeze secrets out of me?”
You leaned back and put the back of your wrist on your forehead. “Little ole me? Why I would never!” You said dramatically.
Sam rolled his eyes and laughed at you. “We think it’s going to be called Light My Love.”
**
You and Sam had continued to mess around in the studio for an hour until Jake and Danny returned. Sam was letting you attempt to tune his bass when Jake popped in.
“Where’s Josh?” Jake said, making an odd face.
“He’s been napping and I don’t know, probably fixing his hair or something.” Sam replied flipping switches around on his amp.
“Well I’m going to wake him up and then we are cooking. I got your shitty impossible meat too.” Jake says walking out of the room.
Sam flips a bird and you giggle. You hand him his bass back and walk into the kitchen. Jake is in full chef mode. You see a spread of cilantro, onions, and tons of seasonings. Josh is sitting at the counter still in a hazy state while Danny is unpacking grocery bags.
“Ah chef Jake, what are you preparing on this fine evening?” You say taking a seat next to Josh.
“Only the finest carne asada tacos ma’am.” Jake says, giving you a smile. “I’ve been marinating this bad boy all day.” He says holding up a bag of steak.
You laugh at him. “I cannot wait.”
**
After Danny had done all of the prep work of chopping, Jake began to head to the grill to start on the steak and tortillas. He had put Sam in charge of making the tomatillo salsa and his own impossible meat. You and Josh tackled making the margaritas. Sam was butthurt at this, because he proclaimed himself the best margarita maker in the world. You and Josh were tasting the margs more than making them, but you had to make sure they were perfect. Right? When everything was put together you all set your spread out on the table. It was rare that you all ate here, but tonight was one of those nights. Everything looked absolutely delicious and you couldn’t wait to stuff your face. Jake was an excellent cook, they all were really. You poured everyone a margarita while Jake sliced the steak up. You took your seat next to Jake and he assembled three tacos for you.
“Oh these are great.” Danny says with a mouthful.
Sam huffs. “Mine are better.”
“I don’t know about that one Samuel. Don’t you know I always win, little brother?” Jake says in a playful tone.
Sam rolls his eyes and Josh clears his throat.
“Clearly the margaritas are the star of the show.” Josh says, holding his glass up.
“I have to agree with Josh.” You say taking a bite of your taco.
“Not everything has to be a competition, guys. Can we not just enjoy a nice family dinner?” Danny says half joking.
Josh hums at this. “I suppose you’re right Daniel. But the margaritas are still the best.”
Everyone giggles at this and digs into the spread.
**
After dinner you helped clear the table and put things away. You knew it would be game night, as it always was after you had a sit down dinner. You also knew that Sam had extra party favors for tonight and you were beyond excited. After everything was cleaned and put away a pack of seltzers was broken out and it was time to argue over which game you would all play. Eventually you all settled on a trivia game.
“Before we start, lady and gentleman, I have a surprise.” Sam says getting up and heading towards his room. He emerges later and holds up his bag of pre-rolls. Everyone laughs and shakes their heads.
“Well boys it looks like we will be playing outside and making a fire!” Josh says standing up.
You all shuffle outside by the fire pit while the twins get to work on making a flame. Sam grabs the seltzers and his special bag, while you and Danny set up the game on the table.
“Okay let’s get this party started!” Josh says.
You look over and see the fire has started and Jake is throwing some wood on it. He throws on the last log and walks over to you. His hand snakes around your waist and he kisses your head.
“Ready to get your ass kicked in trivia, my love?” Jake says, smirking at you.
You look up at him. “In your dreams Kiszka.”
**
Around 45 minutes later you were substantially high. So was everyone else to be fair, but you and Sam had smoked a little more than the others. You also had just won the first round of trivia.
“Damn it. I was so close.” Sam says laughing.
“Face it Sammy you will never beat me, ever.” You say teasing him.
His eyes are red and he has a goofy grin on his face.
“Oh sorority girl calm down I could absolutely demolish you in so many things.”
You hadn’t heard him call you that in a while. Jake immediately put his arm on your shoulder.
“My girl is too smart.” Jake says smiling down at you, his eyes are also red.
You grin bashfully at that.
“I bet I could beat you in a swim race.” Sam says.
You laugh at him. “Well Sammy of course you could. You’re built like a slender man and I’m not.” You take a sip of your seltzer. “Besides, if you wanted to see me in a bikini just say that.” You say jokingly and flash him a smile.
Everyone laughs at this, but Sam’s cheeks go pink.
“Yeah yeah let’s set up another game.” Sam says chugging down the rest of his drink.
“No.” Jake interjects. “Let’s go swimming.”
“I don’t remember that being in the itinerary.” Danny says with a small laugh.
You look up at Jake confused. “Jake, we are all high as a kite right now.”
He looks down at you and smiles. “So? We have a nice heated pool and obviously I want to see you in a bikini.” He says playfully.
You roll your eyes at him and sigh. “Fine! But I am not getting my hair wet.”
“Ditto to that.” Josh says.
**
Everyone went inside to change. Jake quickly changed into his trunks and went back down to turn the heat up on the pool. You took your shirt off and started trying to put your top on. You knew you would probably need help. It was a black two piece set with a lot of strings. You couldn’t get the back to tie tight enough. You went into the bathroom and tried to use the mirror to aid you but it was no use. So you stood with your top half way on and still wearing your leggings decided to crack Jake’s door to ask him for help.
“Jake?” You yelled downstairs. “Jake? I need some help.” You yelled again.
You heard footsteps shuffling up the stairs. But it wasn’t Jake.
“Are you okay? Everyone else is outside messing with the pool but I-“ Sam says walking into the room. He looks at you for a few seconds before turning away. “Oh shit um I’m sorry I thought you needed help.”
You laugh awkwardly at him. “Um yeah I kind of do. I can’t get this damn strap to tie. Can you tie it as tight as it will go?” You ask, trying not to make it weird.
Sam looks at you for a second before answering. “Yeah of course.” He says and walks towards you.
You turn around and hand him the straps. “It’s these two. Just as tight as you can please sir.” You say.
He takes them and you can feel his hands shaking a little bit. He must be really high, you thought. You grab the front of your top making sure nothing falls out. Sam finally ties it and backs away.
“There you go.” He says.
You turn to face him. “Perfect. Thank you.”
“No problem. I’ll see you down there.” He says slowly backing out of the room.
What an odd interaction. But no time to think on that you have to get your bottoms on and meet them down there. Your bottoms are a little more scandalous than the top. They are very cheeky and the sides are basically just string. You look in the mirror. Your boobs look fantastic. There was slight underboob sticking out and the bottoms really defined your shape. You fluffed your hair up and did some light retouching to your face. You took your hair clip down so you could pull your hair up. You made your way downstairs and everyone else was already outside. You could see that Josh was sitting on the side sticking his feet in. Jake was already waist deep in the pool with a seltzer in hand. He was talking to Danny who was also in. Sam was sitting on the lounge chairs stacking towels. You walked outside and immediately Jake’s eyes grew wide and he stopped talking mid conversation.
“Damn.” Josh said in a low voice. It was quiet for a moment which made you feel awkward. You had wished you packed a more conservative swimsuit now.
“Oh come on you guys act like you’ve never seen tits before.” You say making a joke to try and lighten the mood.
Josh and Danny chuckle at this and they resume a conversation. You look over at Sam and he looks back at you and gives you a soft smile. You walk over to the edge of the pool and sit plopping your feet in like Josh. Jake immediately is on the move towards you. He puts his hands on your thighs.
“Goddamn. I am truly at a loss for words here.” He says.
You laugh lightly. “Probably should have packed a different swimsuit.”
“Absolutely not. Of course I don’t like anyone else gawking over you, but they can now see even more how lucky I am. You look fucking incredible.” Jake says.
You smile at him and move his hands before slowly slipping into the pool.
“This feels nice.” You say as the warm water engulfs you.
Jake smirks at you. “I know something that would make you feel even better angel.” He says and leans in and kisses you. He bites at your bottom lip and then starts peppering kisses on your neck. You turn your head with laughter and briefly catch Sam’s eyes on you. He flicks them away immediately when your eyes lock. Why did he seem so upset? Sam was never in a bad mood when he was high, so this seemed abnormal to you. You made a mental note to check in on him later.
“Okay so are we playing mermaids or what?” Josh says, splashing his feet around.
**
After another hour of pool time you were ready to get out. All of the boys had ended up rough housing in the pool, but you stuck true to not getting your hair wet. Jake had been all over you. Holding you, grabbing your waist, and sneaking kisses in. He was always more affectionate when he was high, but your buzz was wearing off. Your heart started to ache as your mind raced. You had been playing along with Jake’s comments all weekend. They felt good, you loved hearing them even, but you knew this bubble you were in would soon pop. That hurt. But it was better this way, even though it ate you alive. You knew you were too guarded and too prideful, but it was better than being weak. You now sat in the lounge chairs wrapped in a towel. Everyone was still in the pool except for Sam. He walked over to the chair beside you and pulled out another pre-roll. He lit it and inhaled.
You looked at him curiously. “Hey are you good Sammy?”
He continued staring at the pool and exhaled. “Yeah.”
You lightly put your hand on his knee. “You have smoked a lot of that tonight.” You say softly.
Sam shutters a little, then looks at you with a grin. “And I intend to have even more. Don’t tell me you’re getting soft on me sorority girl.”
You take the roll from his hand and smile. “Never.”
**
Everyone had gone inside and presumably gone to bed. The bud had made everyone wind down and ready to sleep. You and Jake had showered together, again - and he fucked you up against the shower wall, again. Now you were in bed and Jake had wrapped himself around you. He was fast asleep, softly snoring next to you. He was so warm, almost too warm. You had tried to fall asleep but it didn't happen. You were too wound up from tonight’s events. You had decided you needed some water, then you would sleep. You slowly moved yourself out of the bed, careful not to wake Jake. You were only wearing an oversized Rolling Stones sweatshirt, so you decided to slip on a pair of black spandex shorts. You opened the door and crept down the stairs trying to be quiet so you didn’t disturb anyone. But then you noticed the TV was on. You looked over and saw Sam sitting on the couch by himself.
“Sam?” You asked. “What are you doing up?”
“I could ask you the same thing, sorority girl.” He said nonchalantly.
You walk closer to him and realize he’s absolutely stoned. You giggle. “Geez Sammy did you smoke the rest of the bag?”
He smiles. “Almost, but I left some for you.”
You sit down next to him on the couch. “I can’t sleep. I’m not even a bit tired.”
He sighs. “Join the club girly.” He reaches out and lightly twirls the end of your hair.
“Sam, we have a perfect opportunity here.” You say looking directly at him.
He looks at you slightly confused. “What?”
“Two words. Movie. Night.” You say giving him a grin.
You and Sam loved to watch guilty pleasure movies. Especially guilty pleasure horror movies. The rest of the guys weren’t necessarily fans so it was rare that you two got to indulge in that.
He lets out a chuckle. “Hell yes, but we need snacks.”
**
Sam had come back with a bowl of popcorn, a huge bag of peanut m&ms, and two sodas. This was your favorite movie night snack combo. You had decided to watch some B roll horror film about space cannibals, you also lit up another pre-roll. Sam had opened the window and lit a candle to minimize the smell. You had decided to grab a blanket to put over the both of you since the window had let in a draft. About half way through the movie the snacks were almost gone and you were both substantially high. It was sort of cold so you had both cuddled into each other, laughing at the stupidness on screen. Your eyes began to get heavy and before you realized it you had drifted off into sleep.
**
You had woken up because you were uncomfortable and cold. The TV was off and it was dark. You looked around for your eyes to adjust, expecting to see light outside but it was still dark outside. You were still on the couch laying on Sam, his arm was wrapped around you and he was asleep. You slowly got up and stretched. You pulled the blanket over Sam, closed the window, and blew out the candle. You grabbed your drink and the empty popcorn bowl and took it in the kitchen. You gulped some water and looked at the stove, it was 5am. You decided to quietly climb the stairs and go to bed. Jake was still peacefully sleeping, and you tucked yourself next to him. He pulled you in closer and kissed your head. It wasn’t long before you were asleep again.
• thank you for reading!!!! :-)

Smoking Snakes - Danger Zone
It’s no secret that I love hair-metal, even with all of its problems, and believe you me, hair-metal has some problems. Whether it’s the claims of not being “real metal” from the metal community for being pop-metal, or the rampant misogyny in the genre (that really hasn’t aged certain albums and songs well), hair-metal doesn’t have the best reputation in the metal community, but I love it. When it’s done well, it can be really catchy, slick, and fun, especially when the vocals and instrumentation are great. It’s just really hard to find a solid band that doesn’t wish they were straight from the 1980s, and because of that, they end up feeling dated in a not so fun way. It is fun, however, when a band sounds like they’re from the 1980s, and they don’t try so hard about it, which is kind of how I feel about Swedish band Smoking Snakes and their debut album, Danger Zone. These guys showed up on my radar when this album came out a couple weeks back, and the album cover just screams 1980s hair-metal, but I decided to listen to the album out of pure curiosity. I’ve listened to this thing a handful of times, and I’m really mixed on it, because there are things I really like and things I don’t like as much. I wouldn’t say there are bad things about this album, but there are things that almost kill my enjoyment. I hate to say that, because that’s such a strong statement, but I wish I liked this album more.
Okay, let’s talk about what I like first, and it’s the sound, actually. Their sound is really awesome, as they have a solid 80s-influenced metal sound, especially with some really cool guitar riffs and solos. I love a lot of the riffs and solos on this album, and it’s clear their guitarist has some talent, but at the same time, their sound is kind of generic. Their riffs and solos are good, but they also sound like they’re right out of the 1980s. In a way, I don’t mind, because it sounds good, and I can see this band faring with the likes of Bon Jovi and Motley Crue, but that’s not all I’m looking for, either, so it’s got its pros and cons when it comes to that. It just depends on what you’re personally looking for, and if you’re fine with a band that sounds like they’re from a decade gone by. Some people really want music that just sounds like stuff they grew up with, and that’s it, which is fine, but these guys don’t do anything you haven’t heard before, although I have to admit that their sound is done well.
Where this album goes south for me, at least a bit, is within the vocals. Their vocalist isn’t outright bad, but he’s what I’d call eccentric. He’s got this raspy sound that might take some time to get used to, and it’s not even that he’s bad, it’s that his voice isn’t good enough for the instrumentation, which sounds really bad, I know. It sucks, because I listen to this album, and the one major thought I have is that I wish the vocals were better. I shouldn’t have that thought that while listening to anything, but his vocals just don’t do that much for me. I wish I liked them more, but vocals can make or break an album for me, depending on how they sound and how they fit into its sound. The thing is, the sound of this album is so good, and the instrumentation is really solid, but this album also has some great hooks. The hooks would be a lot better with a better vocalist, frankly, and that’s my biggest issue with this album.
I’d ultimately recommend this album if you want a solid metal album that’s influenced by the 1980s, and it may not be the best thing you’ve ever heard, but it’s good. I wish the vocals were better, but they’re not horrible. Some people like raspier vocals, and for what it is, it’s fine, but the hooks on here are really good and with the right vocalist, they’d be even better. I’m happy I listened to this, because it’s got some good ideas, even if they try a little too hard to emulate the era they’re influenced by. I will say that the lyrics aren’t anything to write home about here, but they’re what you’d expect for an album of this sound. I don’t know, folks, I’d listen to it if you want a solid metal album that may not blow you away, but does what it does rather well. I’d be interested in hearing what this band does next, but I wish their vocalist would improve. It’s not that he’s bad, it’s that these hooks are deserving of a better vocalist, and it really frustrates me, because I want to really love this album, but I just can’t for that reason.

With the Beatles (1963)
Time for part 2 of CutCat Reviews Beatles Albums now it's February!
Tumblr media
An iconic picture to be sure, but I'm not wild on it. Maybe it reminds me too much of trying to fit pictures into a small MS Paint Canvas? lol
Like with Please Please Me, I think there's some songs that slipped under the osmosis radar and that I ain't heard in full. Though I think the only albums I've listened to from start to finish all in order are the 1 CD, Revolver and Sgt Pepper, so I'll stop mentioning it on these early and the later ones... We're also still in "a fair few Covers" country, so will I be as mild on them as I was on the Non-Boys of PPM?
SIDE ONE
It Won't Be Long: I first heard this fairly recently, on the radio that was playing in another room. My thoughts weren't that strong, other than that "She Loves You" does the Yeah! repetition better lmao. Having been able to it properly since, though, I'm a lot warmer to it! It's optimistic and energetic, and the even higher amount of Yeahs is funny (though I maintain that SLY easily wins the Yeah Battle... but more on that when I reach it~). Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!!
All I've Got To Do: This one seems to get slept on a lot... it's pretty solid, but it doesn't really offer any particular Iconic moments. The chorus shakes things up in a nice way but it seems Sticking Power ain't something it has. It's one of many songs that go to show how amazing this band was, as this isn't bad, but it's been left far behind by the other songs they've blessed us with, innit?
All My Loving: Now THIS is a memorable song! Such a jaunty guitar with the direct words! A real narrative is being laid out, albeit as an assertion of future things being promised~ Ah nuts, it blasted my memory of the previous song outta my head... XD - Seems this is the only one that got Red Album'd in this list? Wild that it's only the 1, but I think the right choice was made.
Don't Bother Me: George time! I'm not clear on if the narrative here is a post-breakup or if he's being dramatic about a spell away from the GF, but the main crux is that he doesn't want non-GF contact at that point in time. It's much moodier than most'a their stuff from this time, and there's more damn nice instrumental work.
Little Child: The title on it's own has me somewhat 8(, and the lyrics unfortunately confirm this [albeit Dancing on it's own ain't that bad, but one knows Dancing is often a euphemism in songs like this, or a precursor to more]... I'm sorry for such a negative, potentially pearl-clutching response. But also the music isn't charming me enough to coax me into softening my view. The first real Dud of this album, imo.
Till There Was You: Now THIS, I like! I was baffled why this seems to fly under the radar of Iconic Beatles Songs, but I since found out it's a cover, so that's probably the explanation. The lyrics are decent but the real appeal is that absolutely gorgeous guitar work and bongos, they provide such a warm feel~ It's also giving me strong "Anime Ending Credits Sequence" vibes, which I'm quite partial to ^w^ ...Issit just me or does Paul gain a slight Irish accent when he says "no, I never heard (them/it) at all" :0c
Please Mr. Postman: This I DID know was a cover from the start, haha! It's a very catchy song, but even with my sizable Beatle Bias, I can't really commit to declaring this one as the best... it's very good and very listen-able, but it may be that the definitive Mr Postman is somewhere else...
SIDE TWO
Roll Over Beethoven: Again, it's a cover, but I've not heard Chuck Berry's OG take at the time of writing. The song is pretty groovy, George's vocals ring nicely. I'm not dazzled, but I like it well enough :>
Hold Me Tight: Another Beatles original, another one that tends to get omitted from Mentions...! It's nice, but a lot plainer than most'a the stuff, lacks a certain Pizazz
You Really Got a Hold on Me: Another cover, one I've prolly heard before by a non-Beatles act, while this one is another Fine, Inoffensive romp that I lack strong feelings for lol
I Wanna Be Your Man: Now I know this one was somewhat famously given to The Rolling Stones, and I even heard that played on the radio too. When it was their version, I wasn't impressed. Sung by Ringo, as it had been intended initially? ....I'm still not that impressed. Mostly in the lyrics, it's real repetitive! But my Ringo bias keeps it afloat, and it's odd Mid-ness makes it more memorable than others on this album.
Devil In Her Heart: A good cover, this! George doing nice vocals and the candance to the title is catchy, and ooooh the instruments in the background are also fun, are those maracas I hear? It gets bonus points for the harmonies disagreeing with the lead too, hehe
Not A Second Time: The last original of this album, and it's not really doing it for me. Something about it kinda blurs into itself. Their later betrayal type numbers are more my bag, baby
Money (That's What I Want): And we're closing the experience with one more cover. I dig the instruments, most notably the piano, but the song itself is just, like, whatever lmao, Maybe it's too overtly materialistic and a bit listless? Man oh man does the Pink Floyd Money blow this outta the water lmaooo
CONCLUSION
Best 3: It Won't Be Long, All My Loving, Till There Was You
Blurst 3: Little Child, Not A Second Time, Money (That's What I Want)
Overall Quality?: An improvement over Please Please Me, though in a way it's more level quality makes it a bit harder to pick the best at least best songs in it. Most of the covers are again decent but not amazing, and the originals are hit and miss. Unfortunately it seems side 1 got the Lion's Share of memorable, fun numbers, leaving side 2 with also-rans, though in that is Devil in Her Heart at least!
🪲🪲🪲🪲
On the next part, it shall have been (?) A Hard Day's Night and its all-original song lineup! Just the Album though, if I'm looking at the Film it'll be another, separate instalment ^w^;

tnc: freefall full thoughts
(cross posted from elsewhere i'm just putting it here too lol)
before this album came out, sonically my fave txt albums are tdc: eternity, tcc: fight or escape (i really like loser lover and moa diary okay), and m2: thursday's child. and i think tnc: freefall is DEFINITELY up there -- idk where it ranks exactly but mannn it's so solid, i get why the critics at the preview were calling it a pivotal / turning point album for them. it does so many things musically yet stays thematically cohesive, the lyrics are lovely, and just feels like a natural evolution for them.
thoughts on each track:
growing pain - i can't believe i'm saying this but i think this track has a chance to dethrone opening sequence as my new favorite album opener (and opening sequence is one of my fave txt songs ever). but WOW i love rock txt!! i love how they pour their hearts out on rock tracks! listening to this right after farewell neverland is such a delight bc you have the contrast between making the decision to fall vs. ACTUALLY falling. and the latter HURTS. and they want you to feel that hurt in the song. i love going back to this track and jamming to it
chasing that feeling - oh this is just slathered in that 80s synthpop sound and i adore it so, the synths are just so catchy and i can't really describe it idk that sound just scratches the itch in my brain the right way. but something about it is such a gut punch?? there's something about "my fate, come and kiss me" and "maybe i'll miss it for good / the sweet mirage" that just GETS me. missing something so bad but knowing you have to move on from it... ugh!! not sure yet where i'd rank this among txt title tracks but man i do love listening to it.
back for more (txt ver) - this is the pre-release, we already heard and loved this one. honestly i like both the anitta version and this one, i feel like their second verses do different things: the anitta version keeps things interesting by changing it up, the txt version does that by escalating things. i.e. the former introduces elements of latin and funk while the latter enhances the nice disco pop stuff already going on. but yeah this one bops, also this song being third in the tracklist + right after ctf confirms to me that it's about wanting more of that neverland stuff even tho you said you would move on from it lol
dreamer - mmmm this song is so smooth!! i've seen a few people calling it the more mature / sexier version of 20cm but i still like 20cm more lol. but they both have a smooth r&b sound that makes you want to melt so i get it! it's a little bit lo-fi-esque which is a vibe that i enjoy and just adds to the smoothness of it, then we've got those lovely lovely falsettos. also wow the lyrics to this are really sweet? like... finding that dream you once held on to when you were younger and getting meaning from it once again. ohhh i melt
deep down - this one is boppy!! unfortunately it's a mid-2010s edm-pop type of song which is not a genre i particularly like, so i can't imagine listening to this one a lot. but for people who like that genre i think it works well! also it being a sequel song to crown is just. so cute. awww
happily ever after - aka happy fools' more melancholy older sibling HAHA. like deep down i can't imagine myself listening to this much, i think it needs a little more oomph to really capture me, but it's got a bittersweet mood to it and it conveys that mood pretty well.
skipping stones - I LOVE THIS ONE. this + growing pain are my faves of the newly introduced b-sides! it has that indie rock ost vibe that i'm weak for but it's also so warm, when i listen to it i want to turn the song into a real physical blanket i can wrap myself in. everyone sounds so good here and it's such a treat to listen to. and when i looked up the lyrics they made me melt!! "in order for the me from tomorrow to embrace the overwhelmed you of today, when it touches the shining waves, i'll hold your two shaking hands"??? STOP YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE ME CRY. i started smiling suddenly while listening to this that's just how warm it feels
blue spring - ok i already knew i would love this one bc i heard it live, but i thought the studio version would just be a cleaner-sounding version of the live one. but then THE ADDED ADLIBS??? THE HARMONIZING??? OH I'M SO EMOTIONAL. MY HEART SWELLS EVERY TIME I LISTEN TO THIS AAHH BLUE SPRING I LOVE YOU SO. that said i don't like that they removed the guitar strumming intro at the beginning and there's some weird autotune shit on some of hueningkai's adlibs. but i love this song as a whole too much for it to detract from my listening experience
do it like that - we all know this one too lol. i agree with all the people saying that it feels out of place on this album and they just stuck it on here cause it needed to go somewhere, but yeah it doesn't fit thematically. it's cute and fun but to me this song is musical candy: a sweet treat to listen to but not too substantial. it does what it does just fine but it's so jarring in this context
chasing that feeling (eng) - can i just say that i love the lyric choices here?? "in my kaleidoscope are pressed butterflies" and "time's a thief that keeps on stealing" and "hoping for twice in a lifetime, is that too much to ask?" and even short phrases like "a perpetual high." mmmm chef kiss. this and the korean version give off different vibes, the kor one is more conflicted / melancholy while the eng one is more wistful / determined. i love them both though

🎶✨️when u get this u have to put 5 songs u actually listen to, publish. Then, send this ask to 10 of your favorite followers 🎶✨️
Hey Emilia! 💞 I’ve been listening to a lot of new / random stuff lately, so this was timely—plus I love sharing music, so…lmao you caught me at a good time!
1) Orange Juice by Noah Kahan. Serving 2012 indie hipster vibes but in the good way. A little folky-melancholy love song I heard in a TikTok and enjoyed enough to save—and has stayed in rotation a week or so.
2) Blóðberg by Sigur Rós. Sigur Rós is and remains one of my favorite bands of all time—and their first album in a literal decade came out literally the day before my birthday this month, which I consider a personal boon from the universe. This song is strings and melancholy, rich vocals and walls of sound…and feels like standing barefoot + drenched the wake of a waterfall. It’s perfect.
3) You Wish by FLYANABOSS. Do not judge me 😂 This song is hype as hell for the gym (i need hype girl music for that always. That is a very specific ‘i am lifting heavy things and spending half an hour running’ vibe lol) and those videos they do dancing / rapping through a million places are so fun. I catch this song playing in my head at work sometimes too though so. Lmao it’s catchy fs.
4) Englishman in New York by Sting. Listen. I had a moment with The Police / Sting after finishing S2 of ST because of “every breath you take,” but…I’ve actually loved this song since I was a kid (shout out to my uncles) and have always been obsessed with the jazzy vibes and drums juxtaposed against Sting’s voice—especially considering it reminds me of rainy days in the city….and has a surprisingly wholesome message. 12/10.
5) Siegfried by Frank Ocean. This song resonates with me so hard right now—and actually reminded me a lot of Mike when I thought about it (@amaragf had me talking her ear off about it a bit ago lmao). It wasn’t on my radar in spite of me being a solid Frank Ocean fan for years (I even saw him live…in his old touring eras lol), but. Now I feel it on a spiritual level. Has a lot of “forced conformity is killing the queer kids” vibes, which…probably explains a lot of why I like it so much now that I think on it HAHA
—There’s plenty more where that came from but. Those were among the ones on repeat the most lately lmao.
Thanks for the ask!

The Roots - Things Fall Apart
The early 00s would see lightning quick evolution in hip hop and this album represents both the foundation on which those changes would take place and the last hurrah of 90s alt hip hop scene. And what a cast of features! Common, Most Def, Erykah Badu, J Dilla, and what I believe is Beanie Sigel's first appearance ever. Almost all up and comers who were hitting the turning point in their career and are now legends. All of this glosses over how well constructed Questlove's beats are and how well Black Thought and Malik B interact with them.
Tumblr media
The Meters - Look-Ka Py Py
A great collection of funk grooves from the inventors of the groove. The influence on 70s funk is obvious but I tend to think of The Meters as the sample pack from which the golden age of hip hop is crafted. Taking these songs on their own merit isn't difficult though. Smooth organs, extremely tight punchy drums, and crisp choppy guitar. This album is the essence of funk. The platonic ideal of funkiness.

CHIC - Risqué
Disco is an unfairly maligned genre. The hate was manufactured by racist homophobes who had too much stock tied up in both rock radio as an industry and as an outlet for toxic masculinity. But the meme lives on. Twisted and malformed as only a meme can be. Leave your preconceptions behind and listen with an open mind. You may find that the link between this album and hip hop run deeper than just the bassline from Good Times. You might find that even disregarding the influence on future 'cooler' genres this is just extraordinarily good music. Risqué in particular finds just the right balance of bass and string swells to make the songs engaging to at home listeners and club goers alike.

Credence Clearwater Revival - Cosmo's Factory
A little bit country, a little bit rock and roll, a dash of psychedelia, and various other herbs and spices and you've got CCR brewing. Fogerty's raspy voice is the perfect compliment to the down home bayou vibe. Although this album is the most polished of their output the production values don't get in the way of the raw soul and heart. In fact it might be one of the best production jobs in rock music. And of course, it must be said, if you have not heard their epic 11 minute cover of I Heard It Through The Grapevine then you haven't heard one of the best songs ever recorded.
Tumblr media
Smokey Robinson & The Miracles - Going To A Go-Go
Have I mentioned that I really love Motown yet? This is a really solid collection of Smokey Robinson's soulful songwriting. Really anything I've said about the Motown sound goes here as well so I won't be repetitive. This album is made up of song after song that could have been another artist's biggest hit.
Tumblr media
Bob Dylan - Love and Theft
Y'know 500 isn't actually that many albums. And Bob Dylan has, like other albums. Better and more important ones. I'm not saying Love and Theft is bad, but is it really one of the 500 greatest albums of all time? How uh many Dylan albums did you put on here guys? Didya get Nashville Skyline, Desire, Before the Flood, John Wesley Harding, Planet Waves, Another Side? All better albums from the deeper recesses of his discography.
Tumblr media
The Beach Boys - Wild Honey
W-what? really? I don't... Uh... I mean it's not a bad album at all. It's just. It's like. If there's a Beach Boys album that I forget exists it's this one. Um okay I'll review it for real though. So after the collapse of the Smile project the Beach Boys were left in a weird place. Brian Wilson had become even more reclusive and tension was high. The end result was Wild Honey, an album that clocks in at only 24 minutes and sounds more like bedroom pop than any Beach Boys record before it. It kinda works though, it feels hazy and tired and constricted. It feels warm but unlike previous records this isn't the warmth of the sun on a beach, it's the stuffy heat of a too small apartment with only one window in the summer.
Tumblr media
The Grateful Dead - Workingman's Dead
In under a year The Grateful Dead went from twenty minutes psychedelic jam sessions to three minutes country rock songs. This was their first album in that country style and it's unbelievable how natural they sound. You would never guess that 69s Live/Dead and 70s Workingman's Dead could ever be the same band. Although I think it's overshadowed by American Beauty which they released only five months later this still marks the biggest turning point in their career.

what i'm listening to 3/5/2023 (song notes under cut)
spot. link//yt link
Laura Les - Haunted: haunted. by laura les.
Foo Fighters - Everlong: links to this post. this is one of the greatest songs in the history of popular music, i believe that genuinely. this song is reaching out and grabbing a loved one and pulling them close and saying "i know it all hurts a lot and this life is cruel to us and it will keep being cruel to us but i'm here with you. i'm here with you and we can live in this moment for as long as possible and it makes it all feel worth it. i would go through every minute of hurt, past and future, another thousand times over if it meant i got to share this moment here with you for just a little longer." anyway i'm normal
100 gecs - Hollywood Baby: did you guys see that laura is wearing a limp bizkit shirt in the music video. crazy stuff. i'm holding off on posting my march album ranking just so the new album can come out and i can put it on there i love this shit
Little Richard - Long Tall Sally (The Thing): if it strikes you, i would really recommend checking out the video for this one that i've put in the youtube version, it's a live performance from 1955 and he's just absolutely electric, it's tons of fun
Paramore - Running Out Of Time: the new album is really good and i'm shocked they were able to bear holding onto this single until the full record came out because this one is golden. hayley williams late queen 2023
Crush 40 - I Am... All Of Me: I LOVE YOU SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG!!!!!!!!!!
Butthole Surfers - Pepper: this song is basically if "loser" by beck was evil and fucked up, although these guys were doing weird shit way before beck. i was going back and watching some old one hit wonderland episodes and the one about this band came on and i was very intrigued, i'd like to hear some more of their stuff. i've noticed something about myself, which is that a todd in the shadows video is perhaps the single quickest way to trick me into engaging level 11 autism mode about any given band/artist/genre/whatever. guess i'm just lucky like that
Robert Johnson - Love In Vain: king of the delta blues babey. the melody and playing technique on this is nuts with a capital nuts. no wonder he was one of the many blues pioneers that the british invasion bands knocked off stole from admired greatly. i don't really have that much to say about these old blues tunes it's just Good Music
Twisted Sister - I Wanna Rock: twisted sister is so fucking goofy and awesome i love it. shoutout dee snider for being one of the coolest motherfuckers of the entire 80s. i listened to this whole album because as i mentioned i've been fucking w the hair metal and it's honestly a really solid record, surprisingly legit in a lot of respects. this is one of the silly pop singles, of course, but damn is it charming and just fun
Green Day - Longview: literally just a song about jerking off bc you're bored. heard it on the radio and said "oh i haven't thought about this song in years" and it proceeded to be stuck in my head for weeks. i grew up on green day so i definitely feel soft for them anyway but man why this song lmao
Paramore - Crave: one of my favorite album tracks. the mix is a little rough here (arguably that's true for a good portion of the record) but the lyrics really hit me big time. like yeah! i AM constantly pining for what once was! even when it was shit! what the hell! so real basically
Parkway Drive - Boneyards: every once in a while i have a moment that's like ohhh yeah... THAT'S why i loved metalcore so much for so many years. and this song gives me one of those moments every time i hear it because that breakdown is IN. SANE. greatest of all time possibly. in fact this whole album is such a landmark for this era of core it's crazy. shoutout parkway drive i hope they make good music again someday
Elliott Smith - Figure 8: first time hearing this song i just about fell out of my chair. the performing talent to take an innocent little educational song for kids and make it just absolutely and totally different in its meaning without changing a single word is staggering. i've always been fascinated by the idea of taking a song meant for kids (or just any song that has that sort of shallow quality to it, which kids' music often possesses in order to make it easy for them to enjoy) and recontextualizing it to actually have countless hidden layers of depth, and elliott smith did that flawlessly. fucking wild. i know some of his music but i need to listen to more
Weird Al Yankovic - Hardware Store: this is just one of those songs that crops up every once in a while to say "hey, remember me?" that video going around with all the cats definitely helped too lol. weird al was probably the first musical artist i could have ever been described as a "fan" of, and i'm continuously surprised by how much of his work holds up and remains just really good and honestly funny. goat
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man: good song but i'll be honest i mostly included just because i thought this story was kind of funny: i discovered this song by hearing the shinedown cover of it and, without knowing beforehand that it was a cover, immediately having the thought "this is a really great tune..... too great even. let's see who actually sang this originally." no real hate to shinedown they had some decent stuff but this would have definitely been above their level at any point in their career
The Beatles - Maxwell's Silver Hammer: whatever. fuck you. it's catchy and silly
Bill Withers - Lovely Day: i love bill withers but i'll warn anyone who intends to listen - this song is really quite annoying and repetitive. however it also has one of the most loaded hooks i've ever heard, the type that really just drills down deep into your brain. other than that it's just good vibes
Carpenters - All You Get From Love Is A Love Song: i've decided that i love this album actually and also karen carpenter's voice. this song in particular is just a nice little pop song but they really bring everything they've got to it, it's wonderful
Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity: brought on mostly by paper-mario-wiki posting the video on here. you guys know me, i can't resist weird lyrics about the dangers of a digital future over a funky beat

Another prompt: ❛are you wearing my shirt?❜ for Reggie/Anyone
Set in the Reggie is the one who survives AU, after the guys are back. Julie and Ray have agreed to wait and tell Reggie together about who exactly her new ghost band is.
What was the point of flying back a day early when your flight got delayed, Reggie grumbled as he dumped his bags right inside the door. He'd been all set to surprise Julie at her party, and now he'd still missed it. Ray had recorded it, of course, that had been the entire purpose, but still. He'd missed hearing Julie sing. He'd missed seeing her happy.
He'd missed being home. But going on tour had been the only thing that had gotten the label off his back about switching up the songs on his next album so Julie wouldn’t have to play the fiddle and sing in them. It was still a good, solid album, and it wasn't like they'd made any announcements they had to take back. Still, he'd rather tank his career than have anyone make Julie feel pressured even for a second.
"Guys, look, it's Reggie!" Alex called, sticking his head through the wall to holler down to the studio. Within seconds, Luke and Bobby were in the living room.
"Oh man, he looks even older in real life," Bobby said, hanging in front of Reggie, staring at his face.
"He looks like a dad," Alex agreed, shaking his head. Luke rolled his eyes, following Reggie into the kitchen and making a face when Reggie wrapped his arms around Ray, kissing him long and with way too much tongue.
Ray stopped tidying up when he heard Reggie's boots, turning and catching him when Reggie all but flung himself at him. He wrapped his arms around Ray's neck, kissing him soundly. Ray tasted like coffee, and potato chips, and home. "Hi," he breathed when they finally came up for air. "I missed you."
"I missed you too," Ray murmured, nuzzling his beard. "I thought you didn't get home until tomorrow?"
"I wanted to surprise Julie, but my stupid flight got delayed," he admitted. "I'm so bummed I missed her big performance." Ray hummed, thoughtful. Reggie had to admit that it was probably good that Ray had been the one at home for Julie's whole 'sneak out the window while grounded to play a gig' moment, because when Ray told him about it on the phone, his first reaction had been pride and laughter.
"I'm sure she'll give you a private performance tomorrow," Ray said.
"Oh, totally!" Luke said, bouncing.
"Then someone can finally tell him to his face that his beard makes him look like a math teacher," Bobby said. Alex snorted, but well, Bobby was right.
"What should we play for him? Great again? Or Bright? Oh, I should talk to Julie about-" Before he could leave, Alex grabbed his arm.
"You are not going into a girl's room after midnight while she's trying to sleep," he warned. "Don't be gross, dude." Luke blinked at him, before realising how creepy that probably was and settling down again.
Something about Ray's tone was weird, but before Reggie could figure it out, Ray plucked at the hem of his Henley. "Are you wearing my shirt?" he asked. "I've been looking everywhere for that."
"Maybe," Reggie hedged, even though the loose fit of the shoulders definitely gave away that it was Ray's. "I knew I was going to miss my husband, okay? You can have it back now, though, it doesn't smell like you anymore."
"So you can steal it again later?" Ray teased, pressing a kiss to his neck. Reggie grinned. Ray knew him so well.
"Aw," Alex said. Maybe Reggie being old was super weird, but he was happy to see the guy in such a loving relationship. Reggie had only realised that not every guy wanted to kiss his buddies and that being bisexual was a thing about three days before they died. And now look at him. Married to a man who clearly loved him, with two kids, and a house. He was living the dream Alex hadn’t even imagined was possible, back in the day.
"Kids asleep?" He should hope so, considering it was after midnight, but hey. Reggie knew post-gig adrenaline. He was surprised Julie wasn't bouncing off the walls.
"Or at least pretending to be," Ray agreed.
"Good," Reggie said, pulling his husband close again so he could lean against him, lips next to his ear. He grinned when Ray shivered a little. "Because all I want to do right now is take you to bed and suck your dick until my voice is wrecked."
"Okay nope!" Bobby said, disappearing in a flash. Luke and Alex shared a horrified look, before he vanished as well.
"Good for you, Reg," Alex muttered, before hightailing it out of there as well. Even if he was happy for the guy, there were some things he really, really didn't want to know.

oh dude have you heard "heaven's sent" by fob ? heard it for the first time in the past year and fuck it itches that lil' snail in my ear so bad. also no idea if you've heard "for the departed" by shayfer james but I have an inkling you'll like it, even if the smallest bit, so I recommend.
i think the title is heaven's gate but if so then yea! it's pretty good, definitly solid but not my favorite. mania is probably my least listened to of all their albums. i've loved fob since i first got my grubby little emo hands on take this to your grave as a kid so im extreamly biased towards their earlier stuff lol but if ur thinking of getting into them i highly recommend it!! my favorite songs by them are grand theft autumn/where is your boy and dead on arrival off that same album. after that i'd say anything off infinity on high and under the cork tree are gonna be amazing i feel like folie au deux marks a big turning point in their sound, ryo insists its their best album and while i dont disagree with him it still just ranks low on my list. it's good as a complete work but it lacks individual bangers imo save rock and roll and american psycho/american beauty are like one era imo and while there's some bops i feel like those were very much more of a mainstream poprock trend albums. they sound like what was popular which means they sound like imagine dragons and patd but the fob remix version. which isnt to say that they were bad, just that they lacked a lot of the raw emotion that ive always preferred from them. if i can understand what patrick stump is emotionally yelling at me in the first listen its not peak fob to me lmfaoooooo
i haven't heard of shayfer james before tho i'll definitly give that a listen, thanks for the recs anon! also sorry if u didnt want my personal thought breakdown on fob's entire discography but u accidentally activated my emo trap card so u got it anyway lmfaoooo
