they get on each other's nerves so much. half the time you’re breaking up fights and mediating arguments. but no matter how stupid one thinks the other is - there’s still a lot of love involved. it just doesn’t come across as such when miguel throws an empanada at johnathon, or when johnny portals miguel into the sewers ❤️

what they do agree on is how much they love you. these superpowered freaks adore you and they’ll do anything and everything to keep you safe.

they’re both geniuses, so science is something big for them to bond over. the two bounce ideas off of each other and provide really good insight. both of them practically live in your home’s lab, so they spend a lot of time there together tinkering (and bickering.) if you’re a sciency person, ofc you’re joining them. if not, you’re just happy to listen to them ramble. you love your smart-ass boys!

miguel and johnathon are also huuuge nerds when it comes to cheesy sci-fi movies. they adore playing video games with you and doing weekly movie marathons.

★ they both use their powers to hog the popcorn hehe ★ miguel falls asleep quickly, because he feels safe with you two, and it’s the cutest thing. ★ but once johnathon woke him up from “awww”-ing too loud :(

both miguel and johnathon hog the bed. it’s easiest for you to sleep between them, like a tight fucked-up sandwich. for the most part it’s great and insanely comfortable, but the two cling to you like you’ll fly away.

at first meeting miguel johnathon is skeptical, because miguel is the ceo of alchemax in his dimension. once miguel explains he went through similar troubles with the company in the past, and that he’s working on fixing it, johnathon feels a bit better. miguel offers him a research position but johnathon declines, more content with the idea of supporting you and miguel from home.

★ miggy things !

miguel teaches you and johnathon basic self defense because he’s so scared of his enemies targeting you two. he really appreciates daily check-ins and confirmations if you’re apart.

you and jonathan dote over miguel. you both know he’s been through a lot, so you’re always there to provide comfort and care when necessary. he has so much on his shoulders and you both try your best to take on some of it on for him. a lot of times, miguel will prefer to be alone for a bit, but once he’s collected his thoughts, he’ll come back to you and johnathon for cuddles.

another thing in spite of their disagreements is being silly together. yes, miguel can be quite serious but at heart he’s just as charming and witty as any other spider-person. he’ll say the funniest shit out of nowhere and it has you and jonathon cackling.

★ you show miguel a picture you took of spider-cat. the little man has his belly out and everything. ★“...fat ass.” ★ “BAHAHAHA-”

you and johnathon swoon over miguel’s spanish.

miguel likes to slap johnathon’s back and it makes the lanky motherfucker start choking lmao

he goes to jess and lego spider-man for relationship advice. he doesn’t trust peter b. divorcee with that shit.

★ johnny things !

he considers himself a retired villain now. crime is no longer a necessity now that you and miguel have mended his broken heart. he has a shoplifting habit, though. it’s just so easy with his powers! miguel has threatened to turn him in numerous times.

if miguel needs it, he’ll help him out in the field, but overall johnathon prefers helping from the lab. same goes for you if you’re a vigilante as well.

he has a lot of trauma from the past, especially in regards to the accident. you and miguel always lift him up in your own unique ways. you tend to be more comforting while miguel opts for providing practical advice. johnathon really appreciates having you two as close company on tough days.

jonathon feels so damn lucky to have you and miguel. he’s always saying shit like “wowee i really hit the jackpot!” you love it and miguel thinks it’s stupid (-ly cute.)

johnny’s so smug about being the tallest (unless you happen to be over 7 feet tall - will you marry me-) miguel is still fairly tall, and webs things if necessary - so whenever johnathon reaches something for him he gets all pouty.

once he called miguel “papi.” miguel couldn’t take it seriously and fucking died. johnny’s still haunted by it.

★ rdr things !

you have the unique ability to make these two incredibly stubborn men melt in mere seconds. they both don’t respond well to authority, but they always listen to you. They trust your judgment and know you want the best for them.

they love teaming up to dote on you. on a bad day, they’ll prepare your favorite foods and do whatever you like, whether that be cuddling silently, talking about it, or something else. it breaks both of their hearts to see you upset.

the two are always hyping you up, no matter what you do. if you’re a student? hell yeah, write those fucking papers! are you a vigilante like miguel? you’re so brave and kind-hearted! do you stay at home? thank you for keeping everything in check and being there! but what matters most to them at the end of the day, is that you’re you, and happy and safe with them.

sometimes they just talk about how much they love you.

★ “y/n looks gorgeous today,” johnathan sighed. ★ “they always do though, don’t they?” miguel thought out loud, “we should get them a present.” ★ “for being pretty?’ johnathon asked. ★ “for being pretty.” miguel agreed, with a little smile.

jessica drew is your bestie and you wouldn’t have it any other way. johnathon and peter b parker are two dorky dads grilling together. don’t even get me started on miguel and lego spider-man.

miguel still scares the shit out of poor miles, but they’re both warming up to each other, slowly but surely.

johnathon and miles get along great. he’s become a scientific mentor figure for the boy, and it’s the sweetest thing. he and miles talk about physics all the time (because miguel is once again, scary) and johnathon helps him out with school stuff. miles will join the two in the lab sometimes, so you always set aside his favorite snacks for him :)

gwen hobie and pavitr like to visit too, and they’ll join you guys for meals.

johnathon is so great with the kids. despite him being an ex-villain they absolutely adore him. he makes jokes and stupid references to embarrass them.

you, miguel and johnathon often babysit mayday so peter b and mj can have a date night.

I cant decide if Eddie would love horror movies (particularly gory ones) or if he would be a big baby about them and scream "JESUS CHRIST" and hide behind his hands and yell about how insane and gross what just happened was.

Both options have good potential, but I kind of love the idea of big "mean and scary" Eddie Munson nearly pissing himself watching John Carpenters "The Thing" and not being able to sleep until the sun comes up cuz the sense of dread he felt watching that movie simply will not leave sjdhdbdh

I also hc that Wayne took Eddie to see "Halloween" in theatres when he was 13 and poor Eddie couldn't sleep for a week cuz he was terrified that Michael Meyers would grab him on his walk home from school lmao

omg HI i love this ask SO much! and i am so TORN on this!!!

as a horror movie enthusiast myself it is my first instinct to completely project onto eddie and say that he is THEE biggest horror fan. (which, incidentally, i have actually done because in the current fic i'm writing he takes steve to see TWO horror movies and is like v excited about them lol). but he is totally the first to get out to the theater for whatever the latest horror flick is. he LOVES all the blood and guts, no matter how cheesy or real it looks it's all fucking awesome to him, like the gorier the better. he loves getting other people to watch horror movies with him, loves watching their reactions to them, loves it when it turns out they love the movies just as much as he does (and he especially loves watching them with steve because whenever there is a jump scare it ALWAYS gets steve, no matter how prepared he is for it, and he always curses like a god damn sailer when he ends up jolting like a foot off the couch. it never fails to make eddie lose his shit laughing; but it's also his favorite because he loves it when steve uses it as an excuse to get close to him, squishing under his arm, burying his face into eddie's shoulder, holding his hand). he knows everything about all the horror movies too, all the fun facts, how the special effects for the gore works, what went into creating and applying the monster makeups - you name it he can talk for hours about it.

BUT the idea that eddie is actually secretly the biggest fucking scaredy cat and absolutely cannot handle horror movies is also wayyyy too good to pass up too. like that juxtaposition between the way he presents himself as this mean and scary dude vs him just nope nope nooooope-ing his way through horror movie is just toooooo fucking good, it's too funny. he absolutely would be that person that watches them even though they scare him shitless and he'd just have this string of running commentary (most of which is a variation of the word no, jesus christ on repeat, and a truly creative bunch of expletives) because he has to distract himself.

i will say though, either way, the thing would TOTALLY freak him out (that movie is so fucking good and so fucking creepy omg).

and omg i love that hc. eddie has such an active imagination that it makes PERFECT sense for him to see halloween and just totally spiiiiiral, sitting up all night picturing different scenarios where that happens to him, poor kid lol.

Note: Instead of posting a meta or a fic today, allow me to take a quick break from that because I think I really need to appreciate some people here and the fandom overall.

February 7, 2021.

Today, I turned 24 and my boyfriend surprised me with a gift I think I’ll be taking to heart for a very long time.

The story behind the gift was as precious (or even more precious) as the gift itself and I thought I’d share it since it turned out some content creators were involved in this gift and I very much want to express how much this gift has defined this day for me and will place my 24th birthday as one of those birthdays I don’t think I’ll ever forget.

Apparently, I had casually dropped both my tumblr and my ao3 account during one of our conversations and somewhere around November he had started looking through my bookmarks, my posts on tumblr and some of my interactions with people in the fandom.

I should have seen it coming. It had started with my boyfriend suddenly asking about my hyperfixation with Levihan.

Sav? Shipping? Sav? Binge reading ships and meta posts? Sav? Gushing about a fictional ship?

And I remember gushing about this with my seemingly uninterested boyfriend a long night after explaining what was oddly the most out of character thing for someone like me.

I was sharing with him my metas and hcs and maybe, I was dropping a few of my favorite quotes along the way and it turned out he was interested. Suddenly he was asking me about my favorite fics, my favorite scenes. Suddenly, he was rereading my favorite fics with me and a few times, he was quoting those same scenes. I did find out he was looking through my blog when I got a random message from a really sketchy tumblr telling me to open my facebook.

I suspected a few times that he could be planning something. December passed with nothing and eventually he stopped asking so I clocked that as a fevered dream or unnecessary assuming on my end and didn’t think too much of it after.

It turned out my boyfriend had messaged my favorite authors about their fics and he commissioned one of my favorite artists (if not my favorite) to draw a few photos and bound them into a Levihan Anthology

And it feels fucking amazing to receive something like this. To get Levihan which helped me through the worst of 2020, bound forever as a book I can just open up and read anytime. And I guess tearing up at receiving such a gift had me thinking of a lot of things at once (which were always at the back of mind) but I thought of sharing now.

The past year wasn’t easy. Actually. don’t think it’s an understatement to say this past year was dog shit. With the covid pandemic and all plans after that cancelled, I’m sure we can all agree we had our ups and downs.

I had a lot of my own plans completely thrown out the window for numerous reasons. I had plans of going to law school part time while building a career. And, I got a job right after college to make these plans come true. In September the law school I got accepted to (after working so damn hard the past year to get accepted) denied my appeal for night classes. I decided to drop my enrollment to focus on my career. A week later, my job laid me off.

And for once in my life, I wasn’t going anywhere. And I lived in a house where everyone was always doing something and as soon as I lost my job I was pressured to find another one. But as we all know, searching for a job during this pandemic isn’t easy. I was still reeling after having dropped my enrollment just to focus on my job only to lose that job the week after with no prior notice. Everyone around me was busy doing their own thing. I had no one to talk to and for a while, I was falling into this pit of depression.

My days consisted of me hiding under the covers of my bed in between the few interviews I would take day to day. Around that time, I decided to binge watch Attack on Titan as well

I was never one to get hyper fixated in ships. In fact, this was the first ship since Royai and Victuuri which I have been so passionate. And this is a whole new level of passion. I think this is the first time I’ve ever written so much in this small amount of time. It was slow going. Just like Levi and Hange’s relationship, my fixation with this ship was a slowburn.

Those days alone, I was reading fanfiction by the bundle, I was scrolling through the Levihan tag like a simp, leaving kudos in ao3 on a throwaway account and just scrolling through random people’s tumblr accounts.

What happened during the one month? And when I was alone, sad, lonely and stagnant with no one to talk to, when everyone around me was living their own lives, all I had alone in the bedroom was Levi and Hange’s stories to keep me company between interviews.

And the meta analyses and headcanons I had about their relationship were teaching me things. They were teaching me that life was never about how quickly you progress or how far you go. Maybe the real winners in life are the ones who can build good relationships, build relationships so mutually satisfying they keep each other growing and in those few moments reading, headcanoning ships, I did realize, maybe even as stagnant as I was at that moment, my life wasn’t dogshit.

No one’s life is dogshit for a few small bumps along the way. Sometimes it just is part of the process of growing, learning to get past the worse, learning to manage relationships. And maybe it’s these relationships which make life worth living. Maybe it’s these struggles depicted in these stories and the bounce back. Maybe it’s the love, the life, the emotions so carefully described and depicted in every single story which makes life, life.

With every single fic I read and every single fan art I scrolled through. Levihan was teaching my things about love, loss and life.

Sometimes, these fandoms are the things which can catch people before they fall too low into something. These works and stories authors and artists shared so generously were what pulled me out of this state and are what inspired me to explore this relationship for all the potential its worth and maybe share my own stories and headcanons which people may learn a thing or two from or maybe just find some comfort and hope in.

And these inspirations eventually evolved to writing. Writing 10,000 words in a day in between three interviews? I never was a writer but somehow, I found myself spending hours exploring the themes of love, loss and life with our favorite pairing

I didn’t start writing out of nowhere. I didn’t start making metas out of nowhere. I needed the right inspiration, the right content to get me into this point where I could continue writing, reading, meta-ing, appreciating, headcanoning and everything in between.

And I just wanted to express my gratefulness to every single person in the fandom who had made it possible for me to pull out of that blackhole. Fandoms are underrated and I believe there are so many lessons which can be learned from the right content and from the right people.

To the people who so willingly went along with my boyfriend’s little project:

@faerielleart I saved A LOT of your art and they’re sitting in my google photos under a folder called Levihan and maybe I did share a few of your photos (the cheeks one and the beast titan one and the les miserables) ones to my boyfriend unsolicited just to show him how beautiful Levihan can be. Thank you so much for these beautiful drawings.

@lizaloveslevihan You were one of the first people I talked with in this fandom and dreams really was one of those stories that fucked me up a little bit, had me make a few misses on the commute on the way home one day but maybe it did have me explore the angst genre a little more, maybe it did have me explore Levi’s character a little more.

@ariadneamare YELLOW. OH GOD. You know those letters? The ones which Hange left Levi at the end of the story? I ended up copying and pasting them and sending them to my boyfriend right after reading and I remember talking to him about this. We might be facing that same type of story in the future and I guess that ended up becoming a lot of foundation of our discussion and I guess, it’s just proof that there is so much to learn from fanfiction. There’s just so much to explore and fanfiction as a genre just does not get the credit it deserves.

@fanmoose12 I was exploring your works even before I started this tumblr up again. Maybe it was even your works which got me building my own headcanons from Levihan and writing from there. And I think I did leave a few anonymous messages telling you how I started exploring other genres because of your fics. Your works got my out of my dark place, it got me exploring a lot of other genres and for that I’m eternally grateful.

And somehow, my boyfriend picked that all up from late night discussions and one-on-one metas. Surprisingly, he wasn’t just playing along to humor his girlfriend. He was exploring the themes of love, life, loss and Levihan right along with me. (And got spoiled about Hange’s death along the way… Oops.)

And I am eternally grateful for that and I made sure to shower him with a lot of kisses after he kept me in the loop with what has been going on these past few months with his sudden interest in Levihan.

And this huge thank you goes out to all content creators (authors, artists, gif creators, shitposters alike). Sometimes you never know who’s thinking about your work, who’s shoehorning your works and quoting them to their best friends. Sometimes, you never will find out but your work had pulled someone out of a blackhole which they’ve been stuck in and sometimes you never know that your work has been that seemingly small thing that had taught them a lesson in love, life or relationships. Sometimes, that one work turned out to be an inspiration which got them writing and sharing their own stories or making their own drawings

And I guess, the point is, keep writing. Keep drawing. Keep sharing pouring your love, passion and emotions into works of art because you never really know whose heart you touched or whose life you changed.

I have a job now. I decided to push law school a few years back and maybe take the time to work on myself now and maybe spend the next months or maybe years writing metas and fanfictions. I was pulled out of my hole. I was inspired. I have my own stories to tell and I don’t think I would have been here if I hadn’t spent the last few months reading fic after fic, meta after meta, appreciating art after art,

So anyway, I just wanted to share some pics of my favortie fics, immortalized in one anthology, all organized by my boyfriend. And I think he made some great decisions with these.

HC: The Bros on a Roadtrip

It was all Prompto’s idea, he suggested it one night at a bar

“Omg omg guys we should go on a roadtrip!” -Prompto

“Maybe… sounds like it would be cool…” -Noctis

“Yeah, could be fun. Camping in the great outdoors by night, cruisin the countryside by day…” -Gladio

They didn’t listen to what Ignis said about it (something logical and realistic, but the other bros said fuuuck that)

So they went on a roadtrip, giving Regis a mild heads up one day and driving off

Now. Let’s talk music…

Prompto, cause he’s in the passenger seat, decides most of it, as Ignis usually doesn’t care

So, they get stuck with either pop or indie stuff

Noctis doesn’t care too much; he’s usually asleep

Gladio sometimes cares, but he usually gets some time with the aux cord (he plays classic rock and metal music btw)

Ignis… Ignis rarely gives any fucks about what’s playing, so he lets Prom have a field day with music, but… if he doesn’t like a song or what’s playing… You bet your ass he will snatch that aux cord and play some smooth jazz or classical music for the next three hours (he says it’s to cleanse his palette)

So basically, Prom chooses the songs, but Ignis has the most power over music choice

And in saying that, Prompto also made five different playlists for the roadtrip: One with Gladio’s fave music, one with his own, one with ignis’ faves, and one with Noct’s faves, then one with random ass, typical summer-y montage type songs

He likes to switch up which one is playing

Ignis sometimes turns his nose up at some of the shadier diners they stop at along the way, but if the others beg enough he’ll eat there anyways

The bros camp most of the nights, and just like ingame, Iggy cooks (the camping idea was pretty much forced upon all of them by Gladio)

Ignis doesn’t like to let Noct ever see the map ‘cause then he’d make them stop at every body of water to go fishing and they’d never get anywhere

Prompto also doesn’t get to do too much navigator stuff, ‘cause he always gets turned around or distracted, making Ignis miss turns and go the wrong way allll the time

So, Gladdy is the official navigator

He’s so good at reading maps that he can do it upside down and backwards and every which way (he also takes them through the scenic routes so he deserves a gold star or somethin’)

Don’t get me wrong tho, he does mess up

Once he fell asleep with the map on his face and Ignis didn’t realize until they were an hour out of their way

Prompto has them stop at EVERY roadside attraction and takes so many pictures that he has to bring extra storage for them

His favorite attraction are the really dumb ones, like The World’s Biggest Ball of Twine, The Biggest Santa, the Jimmy Carter Peanut Statue, etc

He also loves the big attractions, like The Grand Canyon (even though he almost fell in while trying to take a good picture)

He also has them stop at any super pretty areas for pictures too

Ignis started saying no whenever Prompto asked to pull over, so now he always asks Noct (Noct can never say no to Prompto)

Ignis is the one driving 90 percent of the time

Whenever he gets super tired, he lets Noct drive but Ignis always feels regret afterwards (Noct sometimes likes to brake check them if no other cars are around)

They let Prompto drive once, but that was the biggest mistake of all. He stopped every five mins for pictures, and at one point got so distracted by the scenery that he ran them off the road

So yeah

Prom doesn’t drive anymore

Gladio, on the other hand, outright refuses to drive (even though he has his license)

They stop for every meal because Ignis does not allow food in the precious Regalia

Speaking of the Regalia, they’re 90% sure they’re not supposed to take it on long trips or anything but… Noctis swear it’ll be fine

Noctis has to call his dad every night (Ignis always calls Regis behind Noct’s back to give him a truthful report)

Gladio has to call Iris every night too (his calls last at least half an hour, and it’s mainly him “mmhmm”ing at the stuff Iris tells him)

Sometimes Gladio gets a call from Iris during the day too, but usually it’s asking something small like, “Hey, Gladio, can I borrow your romance books?”

Normally, she’d want to text him instead, but Gladio hates texting, so she just calls

Speaking of calling family… Prompto tried to call his adopted parents to tell them about his trip (multiple times might I add), but they never answered the phone or called back after he left messages, so he just stopped trying

He gets kinda lonely seeing the other bros on the phone each evening (when they have signal, that is), but tries to hide it all the time

Noct noticed. He told Prompto to give Cor a call for him, “Let ‘em know what we’ve been up to…”

So he did. And then he did it again. And again. And soon, Prompto was calling Cor every other evening when the other bros’ called their families.

At first, Cor was confused and a little annoyed, but he had a liking for that kid, so he listened and talked to Prompto with no problem. Soon, he legit looked forward to hearing from Prompto’s calls and missed him when there were none. Cor tried to pretend that he didn’t feel like a dad to Prompto, but he started calling Prompto “son” in the end, anyways (Prompto may have accidentally called Cor “dad” or “pops” a few times, too)

Prompto likes to take his shoes off in the car and prop his feet up on the dash, but Ignis will stop the car and lecture him if he does

Noctis also takes his mismatched boots off, but his feet stink so he usually keeps them on…

Gladio doesn’t like to take his shoes off, but if he ever does, the stench would probably kill an entire ecosystem

Noctis has the worst roadtrip hygiene (he showers like, three times a week?)

Ignis? You bet that boi has some dry shampoo, some extra water for washing up, three different kinds of soaps… He’s all set. He will not go a single day looking or smelling like shit, mark my words

Prompto borrows Ignis’ soap here and there and he defo showers whenever he has the chance, but otherwise he just lives with insecurities about hygiene and hides his greasy hair with a beanie when they don’t have access to showers

Gladio is good with either. He’ll shower when he needs to, but he doesn’t let the grime get to him, like ever (“If our ancestors can live in the woods without a shower, so can I.”)

Ignis packs snacks and pulls the car over for snacktimes (he can’t have anyone going hungry on his watch!)

Sometimes Prompto will crank on some grand ole tunes that they all know and they’ll just cruise down the highway screaming lyrics (even Ignis will tap his hands to the beat and mouth the words with a dumb smile on his dumb, perfect face) and Prompto will take pics and it’s just such an A E S T H E T I C

Also Prom and Noct wear each other’s clothes sometimes when they can’t be fucked to grab their own (Gladio and Ignis are too specific in sizing to be able to wear the other bros’ clothes)

Prompto LIVeS for roadside diner food omfg

His stomach gives him hell for it and he’ll complain about gas or bloating but he can’t stop eating the greasy fries and overstuffed burgers

Ignis is disgusted by it all but he still eats it for the “original road trip experience” as he says (we all know you’re a slut for crap food sometimes, too, Ignis)

Prompto started collected cool looking rocks from each place they stopped at. Soon, his bag was too heavy to tote around and the bros were sick of hauling around heavy ass bags during camp, so he was forced to give him his collection (tho Ignis swore it was due to the ant infestation one rock caused but Prompto says otherwise)

Gladio, tho, he collects flowers. I know, surprising. He presses them between the pages of his books and plans on making a scrapbook (also surprising) with photos of them at the places they found the flowers pasted next to the pressed flowers themselves (he also presses extras to give to Iris, bless)

ANyways

They didn’t get proper permission to do this, they fought over sleeping arrangements and showers, and they argued over music sometimes, too

But in the end, they made memories that would last a lifetime and they began feeling like a weird lil family anyways

Dragon Age Questionnaire

01) Favourite game of the series? I think DAI is my favorite in the series, because it was the one that really pulled me into the fandom.

02) How did you discover Dragon Age? As is usual for my entrance to fandom, it started with blogs I follow starting to share content about the game. (This was a little bit before DAI dropped.) It seemed cool, and @likhoradka had made a quick Handers comic that amused me, but I didn’t really get into it until @battlefox lent me a copy of DA2 so that I could see what all the hype was about.

03) How many times you’ve played the games? I’ve played all three games through to completion once; with DAO, I played most of the DLCs that were concurrent to the base game, but I only played the vanilla games for DA2 and DAI. HOWEVER, I have started several additional playthroughs, to the point where I have a small army of characters.

04) Favourite race to play as? Elves! Though, to be fair, this is a bias I generally have in fantasy settings.

05) Favourite class? Mages, because, again, the bias followed me from the fantasy setting in general.

06) Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time? I try to play to each character, but I still usually end up making the same decisions (so far).

07) Go-to adventuring group?

DAO: Alistair/Dog, Leliana, Zevran

DA2: Varric, Fenris, Anders

DAI: Since this is the one that I have the most characters in, this is more varied depending on the playthrough, but my PERSONAL favorite combination is Varric, Dorian, and Iron Bull.

08) Which of your characters did you put the most thought into? Definitely Enansal, even though she’s just a glorified self-insert. I just write about her the most.

09) Favourite romance? Probably Cullen, but that’s because I’ve done that one twice.

10) Have you read any of the comics/books? I haven’t got a chance to, yet! I did buy myself a copy of “Asunder,” but I haven’t had time to actually read it.

11) If you read them, which was your favourite book? TBD ;)

12) Favourite DLCs? I mean, I do love “The Stone Prisoner,” because it gives you Shale, and I love them so much.

13) Things that annoy you. Mooostly the fandom. This is why I keep to myself and my little corner amongst the lovely people behind @dadrunkwriting and @asiansofthedas.

14) Orlais or Ferelden? Ferelden, because it’s always given me Celtic vibes and therefore reminds of Ireland :)

15) Templars or mages? Mages.

16) If you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one? I personally have them existing in parallel universes. However, I like the idea that all of the DAO characters end up joining the Wardens at some point or another. I also do have two separate Tabris playthroughs that have become my “Tabris twins” headcanon.

17) What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc)

Veleda’s mabari is Rowan. Since my first playthrough with Sylvia was with the vanilla game, she didn’t have her mabari, so I still haven’t thought of a name. Enansal and Cullen name their mabari Buster. Most of my other playthroughs have named mabari, though, but I have way too many to name them all haha I also never named any mounts, probably because I didn’t know that they could be named!

18) Have you installed any mods? I wish I could, but I definitely don’t have the space or know-how to install them.

19) Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden? Veleda definitely did not. She was actually more than happy to stay in the Circle, because she definitely started out as a huge Loyalist, and was upset that she was basically forced into leaving with Duncan. She was eventually glad for the opportunity to live in the “outside world” though.

20) Hawke’s personality? Sylvia ended up being true blue lol

21) Did you make matching armor for your companions in Inquisition? No. I usually prioritized stats (and sometimes individual colors).

22) If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?

Veleda: She wouldn’t have betrayed Jowan. Being away from the Circle made her realize that she should have put more value in his friendship.

Sylvia: Even if it ultimately spared his life, she always regrets NOT taking Carver to the Deep Roads with her, because she hates the time that they spent apart.

Elera: She never would have left her Clan prior to the events of DAI.

Enansal: She wishes she never had gotten involved with Aaric.

23) Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon? Not particularly? I’d say my biggest canon-breaking content is my Tabris twins and my Kremquisitor playthrough.

24) Are any of your character(s) based on someone? Aisling Tabris, Sylvia Hawke, and Enansal Lavellan are all self-inserts, technically >_> Nan is the one that is most like me, though. Ash is my go-to persona when I make new characters, and Sylvia is really only a self-insert in the sense that all of her dialogue choices were based on what *I* would do in that situation.

25) Who did you leave in the Fade? Stroud, because holy frick, I could not break Varric’s heart like that.

26) Favourite mount? N/A

Anon:I don’t think NR himself had to delete any hate comments (while filimg at the same time…). The (5 or 6) accounts hating on his IG were created solely to slander him. They got called out by a lot of people, they got reported by people like me for spamming and harassement. And the IG support deleted them rather quickly within hours so of course their posts were deleted, too.

Anon:I can’t help but think everyone wtf-ing over what’s going on with NR and DK is so similar to what happened when NR got with CS. Everyone was totally confused then too because he was spending as much time as possible with her while simultaneously denying her existence. I’m seeing a pattern here.

-muffed excited screaming as soon as I saw this- Hi anon! I’m really sorry for the essay this spawned beneath I’m just so excited to talk klavquill to someone. You can totally feel free to look at this as “Do You Really Expect Me To Read All That Shit By You”

I think originally I saw a post about the two of them, but if I did then shamefully I can’t remember it? The way I remember it is that I just suddenly thought of it and went “Oh.” and suddenly realised I liked it? But then it gradually snuck up on me even more until it was in my top 5 aa ships? But something must have put the idea in my head. I just remember thinking “Wait this is a thing?”. My Brooklyn Nine-Nine AU for aa also made me fall in LOVE with this ship (You can find that just by searching B99 on my blog) And then I thought about them a little more and I realised some similarities like them both having an older sibling in prison, but also how we all seem to have a “Lawyer family” in our heads but Klavier and Simon are the two main characters who have appeared in more than one game that don’t seem to be included when you picture The Lawyer Family?

So it was like, realising they’re both main characters but distant from the rest of the main cast, realising they have one fairly unique thing in common, and then realising I hc both of them as really struggling to recover from the trauma of the past few games - BECAUSE they’re distant from the rest of the main cast. They don’t have the heavy duty support network that say, Athena does, and I thought they’d be good for each other because they’d understand what the other was going through. They’d make that support network, and I thought that was interesting.

It was exploring that, that interested me, but also just exploring their dynamic made me really interested in the pairing? It was admittedly partly because there’s so little content for the two of them, there’s no widely accepted view of their dynamic. They’re so strangely different yet similar: Simon takes things more seriously than Klavier but they’re both INCREDIBLY Extra and dramatic. They both trusted someone close to them that turned out to be hiding behind a false persona and using them (Kristoph for Klav, the phantom disguising himself as someone Simon thought was a genuinely good person.) but one of them dealt with trauma/suffering by using his sadness and emotions as a cloak, and the other dealt with trauma/suffering by stamping down on his emotions and hiding them in a guitar case. (HC territory here for Klav maybe, canon territory for Simon regarding the twisted samurai personality and everything.)

It’s how their characterisations vary wildly, how they’re so different yet also so similar, that leads me to have many ideas about how they meet and get together. (Which, again, is why they’re so interesting! They’re characters that contradict themselves sometimes and both contrast and mirror each other.) It all depends really. If you think Simon is almost always the more serious side of his personality, then they probably get together following some Odd Couple Style drama at the prosecutor’s office. If you think Simon is a lot more open with his jokes after being able to safely shed his “I’m A Murderer Fear Me” persona, then they probably instantly warm to each other and raise hell at the office. I don’t personally think they knew more of each other than “He exists” pre Simon’s trial but it’s also entirely possible they were acquaintances or friends before shit hit the fan. (And nothing more bc Klavier was underage and Simon was not.) It’s possible they get together because Simon is the only person who can keep up with how Extra Klavier is. They both have the potential to be a grounding influence on the other, or encourage the other’s eccentricities.

I see. Many different ways they could get together/bond. But I think in my heart, the core of the two of them coming together is that only Klavier and Simon are dramatic and Extra enough to keep up with each other. Only ‘has a bird on his shoulder he sics on people and preaches to us all about samurai’ can keep up with ‘air guitars in court and wants everyone to think he’s German as fuck’. But also that they understand each other, that they both put on false fronts for the world (Klavier’s Rock Star Persona and Simon’s Twisted Samurai) and with each other they can just be. Klavier can get annoyed, Simon can laugh. They can just live.

I think the fic I’m writing right now is my ‘canon’ Serious take on how they’d get together under Serious Circumstances. But I adore Klavquill, and any ideas about how they get together / become friends are good. Especially fun ones, I have a lot of those. All that’s important, is that they do support each other even if they struggle to understand each other at first. Simon Blackquill loves his boyfriend and will wear an entire ensemble of Gavinners merchandise to show that support if he has to. And he’ll do it with the utmost seriousness. (And he’ll threaten to decapitate anyone who laughs even though I’m laughing a little imagining it.)

tl;dr - one big reason they’re so interesting is that how they’d get together/their dynamic varies depending on what part of their characterisation you view as most important. And Klavier and Simon hide behind so many personalities that almost everyone has a different hc for how to write/portray them.
