I just saw a picture of Liam Hemsworth and honestly. To be truly, absolutely 100% honest, and to commit to my level of dumbassery and unattentiveness- why did they tell me. I would have liked to see how long it would have taken me to realise something is off.

The problem with pro-shippers: NSFW child content
Silence is golden but that only pertains to certain cases. The subject of pro-ship vs anti-ship has been a huge manner of debate in fandoms, primarily A03 and A03's subreddit and tumblr community. If you admit to being anti-ship, you're suddenly exiled and considered a pariah to the community and a promoter of cancel culture.
"Let people enjoy things!" "It's not real, it's fictional!" "These characters and actors are our toys to play with" "Disregard all haters, they're the monsters"
Only goes so far in some subjects. There is a fine line drawn when the content involves CSEA that's not told with a negative connotation.
However, pro-shippers do not like being told the difference.
The difference between a negative narrative and a romanticizing narrative. (ie: we as readers and the author know that pedophilia and child pornography is bad. Versus: we as readers and the author enjoy fictional pornography when it involves children and we enjoy writing 10 year olds having sex with other 10 year olds or a 10 year old calling a 40 year old man "daddy" during NSFW acts).
That the characters being fictionalized completely disregards all notions that the author and readers enjoy reading about children in NSFW content. Because it's "fictional".
That if you like watching a cannibal on TV and the fact that you may enjoy a show about a cannibal, it doesn't make you a cannibal because it's fiction. This argument is used on the daily for pro-shippers.
4. Because no children are actually harmed. That may be, but the reader and author are still enjoying content that involves the images of children in NSFW scenarios.
The fact of the matter is that it doesn't matter if the children are fictionalized or not, but no pro-shipper is going to agree because the characters in themselves are considered "toys" they can play with. (Don't get me started on how wrong the term of "toy" sounds in regards to children, fictional or not.)
The true facts here are that the reader and author are still putting a child's face onto a character involved in NSFW content. That's all it is. Picturing a child's prepubescent body parts as a character and finding that attractive enough to write about in an NSFW fashion. Again, pro-ship will disagree and become hostile.
But why is NSFW fictional child pornography morally wrong when writing fictionalized incest pornography is not?
Because the fictionalized incest pornography does not involve actual siblings or family members. One may just like the characters together regardless of blood. It doesn't mean that the author or reader is attracted to their real life sibling or wishes to put two real life siblings together in NSFW scenarios like Liam and Chris Hemsworth and because child pornography is CSEA. A child cannot consent. Even fantasizing about a fictional child in rape scenarios is beyond levels of fucked up.
"But fictionalized incest isn't real so fictionalized child pornography isn't real"
The biggest difference is that the reader and writer aren't finding the real life prospect of incest attractive, but they are finding CSEA content an attractive scenario.
But god forbid you raise your voice against this, and you'll be crucified.
It. Doesn't. Matter. That. They're. Not. Real.
You are still attracted to the images of child characters.
But wait, no actual children were harmed?! "It's just an instrusive thought" "I can safely look at CSEA in a safe environment where I don't hurt anyone" No. Get help. Get therapy. Harm reduction is not thr same when it comes to non consenting minors and when it comes to a user getting off on the idea of children. Get help. There is no lesser evil here. These thoughts are not okay.
Come @ me. I'm not scared. Not as scared as some pro-shippers should be once their search history is discovered. (For the record, I pray you do not have this kind of content on your person. However if you truly believe CSEA is okay if no one is physically harmed by you then by all means, tell your therapist about it)
#end rant

Me, when I finally started coming to terms with the fact that Liam Hemsworth was going to be playing Geralt of Rivia in the next seasons of "The Witcher":
Well, at least we already know he can bury his fish and the Honest Trailer Guy would totally suck his dick, so...
Tumblr media
...maybe it'll be okay?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look, more seriously though, as long as he's a dork that can manage to pull off looking both threatening and like a giant puppy at the same time got good chemistry with the rest of the cast, especially Joey Batey's Jaskier, I'll miss Cavill (as I've absolutely adored him as Geralt, and find the way he moves in a fight with the grace, fluidity and agility of a dancer absolutely mesmerizing!), but will still probably manage to adapt to the change, and continue to enjoy the series regardless.
Besides, looking at some of Liam's most recent roles / pictures, I really have no problem imagining him as Geralt even without the white wig.
Tumblr media
And he's also like, a really tall guy (6'3")!
So, I'm really starting to be more and more curious to see what he'll be able to bring to his portrayal of the character...

I’m not even like, a Henry Cavill Stan but yalls I can’t even PICTURE Liam Hemsworth. Cavill has manifested this part so well, it’s like in his veins now.
If we have to start from scratch and now get used to the dynamic btwn Liam/Ciri and Liam/Yen… no. The chemistry btwn Cavill and the rest of the cast is good. It is so weird to recast and now get used to what is essentially a new romantic pairing. I’ll also see Liam as one of a brother figure to Ciri rip
And now after watching 3x05, like damn at this point just end the show, how can a new male lead top that chemistry and dynamic w Anya

No plot twist in the history of plot twists would ever get me more than if they literally faked Liam Hemsworth being recast for Geralt.
i hope it's like. the season ends with geralt "dead" and then between now and the next season liam is never mentioned. no bts of him no geralt in the trailer no promo pictures no interviews or answering questions about it. by the time season 4 is released i want everyone going insane over whether or not geralt is actually it in, whether liam hemsworth has filmed Anything

Does Pedro call up the likes of Backgrid who are paid paparazzi and used for PR/publicity etc.? I see people complaining about paps but I know that Backgrid etc. are definitely paid paparazzi and they do PR paps
Does Pedro Pascal call up paparazzi?
Does Pedro dress like he's called anyone?!😆
People are complaining that Pedro is pictured at the gym too regularly. Many celebs are photographed regularly, but the images aren't released illegally by "fans" looking for likes, so it often feels as if Pedro can't move but for being photographed without his consent.
I'm sure there could be times when his team might think he needs to remind the public of his existence, like in pics posted by JustJared.com, but on the whole these paparazzi just know what they're doing. Every celeb needs publicity. However, I think the paparazzi at the gym, for instance, are efficient at their jobs. Many celebrities use that gym so sitting outside with your camera ready is an easy pay day.
The gym Pedro uses is owned and run by his friend Jason Walsh, whom he met shooting The Great Wall. That gym is used by studios to prepare actors for roles. Membership can cost $35k a year, so the clientèle are often people the paps are interested in. Rise Movement count Minka Kelly, Brie Larson, Jessica Biel, Chrissy Teigen, Hilary Duff, Jaimie Alexander, Matt Damon, Emma Stone, Jake Gyllenhal, Liam Hemsworth and more among their celebrity clients.

It sucks that Henry Cavill will no longer be playing Geralt...
HOWEVER
I'm not going to protest the show without giving it a chance. Liam Hemsworth is not someone I ever pictured playing that character but I'll be damned if I let myself become one of those people who judges something without seeing it first.
I will reserve my opinion beyond saying it's a shame Henry Cavill is leaving until after I see Liam Hemsworth in the role.

hi becca love,
what are your thoughts about liam hemsworth taking henry cavill's place as geralt in the witcher?
i am kind of curious because i cannot picture anyone else as geralt.
hello angie!! ❤️ honestly i don't quite know what to think about it because just like you, i really can't imagine anyone else as geralt. i don't know how you fill such a prominent and important hole that is left by your main star leaving? but i don't think i can really judge anything until i see him in the role. what i will say is i thought the bts script reading was very cute and it was great to see that he was already getting along well with both anya and joey, both of whom his chemistry will obviously be very important with! it did give me hope that we got to see that and especially because we never really got a lot of bts content before. i'll keep watching because anya as yennefer is too important to my heart but i still haven't formed an opinion on liam as geralt fully yet and will wait and see if i'll be fast forwarding through his scenes because i just can't buy it or not

What do you think about the way character appearance being portrayed or narrated in THG novels?
What's your opinion about THG movies casting? Especially Katniss' and The Seam residents casting?
Is it important that Seam and Merchant residents of District 12 have different appearance in the screen? Yes/No? Why?
What do you think about division /dynamics between Seam and Merchants in District 12?
Thank you :)
@curiousnonny
Characters appearance in the books:
Well first thing, we need to remind ourselves that characters are described by Katniss. That means that she only gives descriptions of characters appearances when they are relevant, or she's trying to sort out the other person, or that person is very important to her. The Seam/merchant divide is pretty connected to this. Katniss isn't a prejudiced person, yet, she points it out EVERY SINGLE TIME. Blond hair, dark hair, light skin, dark skin. She talks about it all the time. I think it's mostly to show us how they usually don't marry outside their group. The only way for merchants to stay so blond, and so light skinned is if they don't marry with Seam folks at all. I don't think it's the physical aspects that keeps them apart, rather they are a visible sign of that separation.
Casting:
Ok, dont hate me. I love Jennifer Lawrence, as an actress. She is extremely talented. But she is not like I picture Katniss at all. The hair is easily fixed, and I can even ignore her skin tone, but her height and overall bone structure? I'm not saying they should have made her lose weight.* I'm saying they should have chosen a different actress entirely. Being small is a big part of Katniss. She is not a visible threat when she volunteers, no one even knows why she had a score of eleven. If I was in a death match with Jennifer Lawrence and someone said she had an eleven, I would not be surprised. Katniss is supposed to be small. Jennifer isn't small. She's not even medium sized, she is quite tall for a woman. Josh on the other hand, is short, and Peeta is supposed to be medium height. So you could say they took Peeta one step down, but they took Katniss two steps up, and that pisses me off. If they went with a medium height actress, she would have been more or less the same height as Josh. Her size to me is more relevant than her skin tone, because it's her size that really shows the real differences between Merchant and Seam. Merchants don't have an easy life, but they don't starve. Yes, she eats meat regularly, but she also almost starved to death, and she still eats less than she should, and she has no variation in her diet. She should have been small and thin. Someone like Sarah Hyland, Isabella Fuhrman, or Vanessa Hudgens, if you want to go with the whole olive skin tone.
I hate that they didn't give blue contacts to Josh. Seriously? it's like Buttercup color, it's not that hard to make it happen!
I'm not upset about Haymitch though. Particularly because they didn't dwell on his backstory. But if they did, then yeah, I need a Seam-looking actor for that.
Liam Hemsworth is spot on as Gale, though.
I think the differences between the Seam and Merchant looks would be more relevant if they dwelt on that in the movies, but they don't really talk about that in the first place, so I suppose it can be easily ignored.
Except for the main characters (P and K). I kinda want them to match the book descriptions.
*would it really be setting a bad example if she lost some weight for the movie? I'm not saying being underweight, just not look like she was a career. I mean, Josh and Sam had to build muscle to play their parts, isn't it the same thing? I don't know.
