Only someone deep in the gender cult could encourage everyone to get “chips, magnets and antennae” implanted without considering the risk of these things enabling abusers and stalkers.
UK — England. A British transhumanist, whose body contains over 50 chips, magnets and antennae implanted over a 14-year period, was recently lauded by Business Insider as a genderless, posthuman hybrid of human and machine. The transhumanist, who has experienced at least one medical emergency as a result of the implants, expressed hope that more people will try similar experiments on their own bodies.
Lepht Anonym, a self-taught underground biohacker who works “with mostly implants, mostly in the field of sensory expansion,” runs the blog Sapiens Anonym, which has amassed over 600,000 followers since its June 2007 launch and become a key reference for aspiring transhumanists and biohackers.
She wrote in her Blogger.com bio: “Lepht Anonym is a faceless, genderless British biohacker. It lacks both gods and money, and likes people, science, and practical transhumanism.” The blog debunks religious beliefs, such as the Christian, Muslim and Jewish view of creationism and aspires to use formal logic and logical systems to bring human bodies past all natural limitations.
Anonym’s experiments on her body began in 2007, when a friend helped her implant a chip in her hand that would allow her to pay for purchases with her palm, eliminating the need to carry a credit card. A blog post details technology used, where to purchase parts, and steps to “install” the chip in the body.
She noted that she tends to undergo procedures without anesthesia, as she has trouble obtaining “any good anaesthetic, anything that ends in -caine.” She found instructions for mixing lidocaine on a survivalist website, but says she has never been able to get the mixture quite right. “If you dose it up too much, you can give yourself a heart attack.” She suggests “icing everything up,” insisting the pain is “worth it.”
In a 2011 presentation Cybernetics for the Masses, hosted by the Chaos Computer Club, which describes itself as “the largest European hacker association” and “a mediator in the field of tension between technical and social developments for over thirty years,” Anonym detailed plans to have the first “South Paw” created and implanted in her left leg. The concept is based on the concept of the North Paw, an anklet that tells the wearer which way is North, but uses different technology to make it smarter and more ideal for implantation.
Anonym, who said at the time that she was “bored” of experimenting alone, expressed hopes that others would follow her lead, adding: “It’s not self-harm if it does something, right?” She said to a round of applause: “Bodily health takes a big f**k off second seat to curiosity. It’s just not important.”
Some individuals seated in the audience said they would give it a try, leading Anonym to express surprise at the “better than I expected” response.
“She inspired me to get my first ND implant and its amazing!” a male using the feminine name Cassie Incarnate commented under a video of the event that was posted to YouTube. The fan, who is from Newcastle Upon Tyne, has a Twitter bio that simply states: “Make up, Hair, Clothes, Contacts, Alcohol, Sex, Drugs, Music, Clubs, Money, Gender f**ks, Mind f**ks, B**hes who suck, Tucks, A cups, C cups, B cups, Tea cups.”

Anonym advised people to perform the surgeries only on themselves, warning: “In England me doing this to any of you guys leads to 10 years in prison for mutilation with intent to scar.”
Asked what “repression” she has faced in Britain over the implants, particularly from doctors, Anonym replied: “[Doctors] have advised that I have them removed, but they can’t actually make you. … They just said they refuse to treat any medical problems that have anything to do with the implants because its self-inflicted.”
In January 2020, Anonym experienced a medical emergency as a result of an implanted device.
Described on her blog as a “‘pirate box’ device,” a “tiny little guy,” with “USB storage and wifi antenna,” the device was built to allow users to download or upload files or anonymously chat by just connecting it “via their phone or PC.” She presented the device at GrinderFest, an event for biohackers held in the US on March 31, 2019, before having it installed that May.
“we chose to put the device in my upper right arm, rather than the thigh as intended, due to worries about chafing. then we injected shitloads of lidocaine, and made a horizontal incision in the arm, which was then held open with retractors while a pocket big enough to hold the device was carved. at some point i recall we had to stop and put more lidocaine in, i think because the corners hurt more to carve out than i thought they would? anyway i bawled like a big baby at some point but it got installed in the end, and stitched up with a drain to help get rid of some of the fluid. i went off home (via a missed flight, but friends helped me sort it out & it was all OK in the end) and once i got back, pulled out the tube. this caused a large backup of about 50ml of fluid to spurt from the incision, completely overwhelming the little bit of sterile gauze i was trying to clean it with, which in turn surprised the hell out of Paul and kind of ruined the rug. was worth it if you ask me. “ - Lepht Anonym, grindfest 2019 and the big ol prototype
Seven months later, she experienced extreme swelling in her arm and went to an emergency room. Doctors “clearly thought this was an utterly bizarre thing to have done, and immediately admitted me for removal. They insisted it be removed and at this point a hole had opened up over one corner of the device, through which a lot of nasty goo was issuing, so I went with their opinion and let them take it out.”
Anonym lost strength in her right hand as a result of nerve damage sustained during the procedure, and advises: “So, cautionary tale. Don’t put enormous devices in your arms, folks.”
Her other makeshift surgeries include magnets implanted in her fingers, which allow her to sense the distance between hands and objects when activated by small coils of wire connected to infrared detector or other external sensors.
As to the reasons for her experiments on her body, Anonym wrote in the FAQ section of the blog: “I’d like to say I did it because I follow a grand tradition of self-experimenters in science, or that it was because practical transhumanism is more than a philosophy to me (it’s my life), but at least partly, I did it for kicks. I just wanted more senses; still do.”
Anonym said she used to “spit a tumblresque EDUCATE YOURSELF S**TLORD” when asked about gender. Now she finds the quickest and best to explain her perspective is to describe herself as “agender” or “genderless.”
She uses “it pronouns” for herself, but says she is not concerned with others who misgender her even if “I massively appreciate the people who do use the same language I do.” She elaborated in a post that borders on critique of transgender theory:
“i’m not talking about biological sex here. i have XX sex chromosomes, normal female secondary sex characteristics, no chest hair here. i’m not denying that this here meatshell is a female-type one rather than any theoretical ‘neutral’ type (i dunno, like a genetically modified construct shell or something.) i’m on about gender, as in, the social roles expected of men and women respectively. this is what people mean when they throw around ‘gender is a social construct’ – they mean there’s no brain difference between men and women that makes us behave in ‘masculine’ or ‘feminine’ ways, just differences in our upbringings and culture. (some people are using it wrong because they confuse gender with sex, but w/ev.) i’m of this opinion too, which makes me very unpopular with some people who are invested in the concept of having been born with a ‘male brain’ or a ‘female brain’ for whatever reason. [there’s some cool recent neurological research relevant here also.]
having got that out of the way, i have no problem whatsoever with people who are fine with their gender or the concept in general. if you wanna behave in line with the social role you’re prescribed and the ways you’re expected to behave, you do dah. same if you wanna take on the other role cause you identify deeply with that gender. “

There are some people that think I’m various other Tumblr users.  There are people that think I’m secretly a video game developer covering my tracks so that I can indulge in politics without being destroyed by social media frenzy.  And, of course, there are people that think I’m various other figures from outside of Tumblr, like you.
Even my nationality.  People make their assumptions, but there are those who believe the most obvious answer probably isn’t the correct one.  After all, how else might one hope to steer the heart of the Empire?
It’s fun to imagine, isn’t it - what person or organization could be responsible for this?  Surely it’s too fun to ruin by actually telling you, although you should have little trouble ruling out organizations based on their previous behavior.  Depending, of course, on how deeply you believe the game is played.

Aula 3 - Ubiquidade, transumanismo e singularidade.
A terceira palestra foi dada pelo Marcelo Pereira, e sinceramente, assim que você o ouve falar por dois minutos, já é o suficiente pra ficar impactado com a quantidade de informações e com as inovações ao redor do mundo da qual você nem fazia ideia.
Para começo de conversa, vamos definir os termos que foram utilizados para nos informar sobre a palestra e que são, consequentemente, bastante utilizados no curso:
Ubiquidade é, de forma resumida: estar presente ao mesmo tempo em vários lugares, a onipresença.
Transumanismo é uma filosofia que incentiva o uso da biotecnologia para superar limitações do corpo e melhorar as condições humanas.
Simbiose aqui é como na biologia, uma relação onde ambos se beneficiam.
Inteligência e Singularidade nesse contexto, pode ser resumida em três palavras: Lei de Moore, que consiste em um conceito onde os computadores (informática, no geral) dobre sua capacidade de processamento a cada 18 meses, essa lei está em vigor há mais de 30 anos.
Com isso, na primeira parte da palestra sendo sobre Ubiquidade, Marcelo dividiu as eras computacionais em:
Era dos mainframes: onde o computador era de grande porte e estava longe de ser algo pessoal e vai dos anos 40 aos 70.
Era da computação pessoal: ocorre no período dos anos 70-00, onde o tamanho diminui relativamente e ele se torna mais “individual” no sentido de que quem usa agora são normalmente grupos já estabelecidos como a família, por exemplo.
Era da computação ubíqua/pervasiva: consiste em um computador individual, uso diário e facilidade, pode ser classificada até o ano de 2010 mais ou menos. A parte pervasiva, é quando a tecnologia existe mas se torna imperceptível, ela basicamente só funciona, e é mais ou menos os dias atuais.
Após essa parte, o Marcelo nos contou sobre Xerox PARC e o Alan Kay (obviamente!) e sobre o Mark Weiser também. que não tendo sido o fundador da Xerox PARC, foi uma pessoa muito importante pro desenvolvimento da mesma. Basicamente, como ainda estávamos no conceito ubiquidade, o Weiser foi responsável pela criação da computação ubíqua e o Alan Kay pelas “modernas” interfaces gráficas. Você pode encontrar mais sobre isso aqui.
Quando entramos em transumanismo/simbiose, o que mais chama atenção e vem a cabeça é o biohacking (”a crença de que é possível, e também desejável, alterar fundamentalmente a condição humana através do uso de tecnologias e fazer um ser humano superior.”)
No exemplo dado, ele nos apresentou um vídeo sobre Lepht Anonym, uma biohacking que implantou CINQUENTA chips e ímãs no corpo para se tornar “melhor”.

Nessa imagem, Lepht tinha feito um procedimento em um dos chips que possui implantado na mão.
Além dela, é possível encontrar vários outros exemplos de biohacking relativamente conhecidos, como o Rob Spence, que literalmente, trocou um olho por uma câmera.

O assunto gera uma polêmica enorme envolvendo ética, biologia e afins. Ambos os lados são compreensivos e os argumentos válidos, sobre o assunto, eu encontrei dois TEDx Talks que amei: Implants & Technology -- The Future of Healthcare? Kevin Warwick at TEDxWarwick,  Biohacking - the forefront of a new kind of human evolution: Amal Graafstra at TEDxSFU.
Por fim, temos a parte constituída por Inteligência e Singularidade, que corresponde relativamente a Realidade Virtual e a Realidade Aumentada.
Durante essa arte da palestra, ele nos deu sugestões de filmes que se encaixam no tema, como: 13° andar e Transcendence. Como ainda não assisti, não posso dar minha opinião, mas pelo que pesquisei, ambas envolvem bastante a relação humana com a tecnologia.
Além disso, ele exemplificou o termo com o jogo SimCity (que provavelmente o mundo inteiro conhece) e o Replika (fruto de Black Mirror), que é um aplicativo caracterizado para criar um clone seu utilizando a inteligência artificial. Basicamente, o app vai capturando todas as suas informações, jeitos e manias enquanto você conversa com ele. Eu baixei e me diverti bastante, tentei explicar para o meu pai e foi extremamente delicado e engraçado porque ele simplesmente não entendia a função daquilo (HAHAHA).

E assim, terminou uma das minhas palestras favoritas e absurdamente completas, é até difícil escrever incluindo algo de “fora” através de pesquisar. Se essa aula fosse um filme, seria o filme com mais plot twists da história e ainda assim, não perderia a graça, a surpresa só aumentaria.

O professor Marcelo Pereira, começou  a palestra nos perguntando qual era o conceito de Umbiquidade, e logo em seguida nos explicou que era o dom de estar presente ao mesmo tempo em diversos lugares.  A partir dessa explicação nós vimos três tipos de Era:
Era dos Mainsframe (1940 – 1970)

Nós vimos também as gerações dos telefones,
  Primeira Geração: analógico
Segunda Geração: digital (possibilidade de receber/enviar mensagens e entretenimento com jogos)
Segunda Geração e meia: 40kbps (possibilidade de entrar em sites e ver/responder e-mails)
Segunda Geração e setenta e cinco: 144 kbps (mais velocidade e possibilidade de enviar fotos)
Terceira Geração: 384 kbps (possibilidade de vídeo conferência)
Terceira Geração e meia: 7 mbps
Terceira Geração e setenta e cinco: 14 mbps
Quarta Geração: 150 mbps (embora todas as empresas digam que existe o 4G, elas estão enganadas, pois nossos smartphones ainda não chegaram a 150 mbps)

Depois de falarmos sobre a Ubiquidade, vimos um pouco sobre Transumanismo, que é o movimento intelectual que visa transformar a condição humana através do desenvolvimento e distribuição de tecnologias sofisticadas capazes de ampliar as capacidades físicas, intelectuais e psicológicas do ser humano.

Nesse jogo, esse personagem decide amputar o braço, pois a mão mecânica é melhor do que a sua verdadeira.
O Marcelo explicou também o conceito de Biohacking, que é uma atividade realizada por indivíduos conhecidos como biohackers ou grinders que experimentam com implantes e outros métodos para aplicar a tecnologia em seus corpos.

Uma hacker escocesa identificada como Lepht Anonym, implantou ímãs nas pontas dos dedos e botou um chip em seu corpo, pois ela está experimentando ampliar seus sentidos e conhecimentos.
